blinking, irix made a 'huh?' sound before he got what Andel was asking, then he nodded his head. "Yeah. go ahead." Great. the topic of his brother had probably depressed his poor room mate. what was he going to do now?

Andel smiled and took his seat. He then wrote something down and flipped it over so Irix could read it.
Do you mind if I ask you a question... it might seem a bit rude though...

He shrugged and nodded "Okay. What? I'm used to rude, dont worry." It was true, afterall. He /had/ come from a large family that ran a farm. They weren't exactly polite and proper.

He began to scribble on the paper again.
Why did you assume that I hated you, did I do something?
He handed the booklet back with a slightly pained expression. He normally didn't assume things were his fault, but lately, that's how it had managed to turn out.

Irix read the words, then started laughing in a somewhat nervous fashion. "Haha... No, you didn't do anything. The way i acted when i got in, with the Herald; After the oddness of today, i was thrown off balance a little i guess. That, and i.. i suppose i tend to think the worst." He handed the book back, scratching one hand through his hair. Good job. Make your room mate feel bad. Again.

He wrote again, and then handed the book back. He was actually enjoying this little game of pass back and forth. At least this way he was being understood without having to work through his brother.
What do you mean, oddness? Did something happen?
He wasn't sure if this was his place, but maybe it could help pinpoint his brother out for him.

"Well..." He passed the book back and tried to think of a way to explain. "Nothing really, everyone was jsut acting very odd today. the teachers were sort of nervous and maybe a little jumpy, but wouldn't answer any questions about why." He shrugged "i guess its a herald thing."

He'll nod, slightly annoyed that his brother's location wasn't revealed to him. He picked the book back up and began to write in it again.
So, what are we to do now?

Irix shrugged and handed the book back. "I dont know. I dont have any classes for the rest of teh day, so i'd planned on comming to study, but thats boring."

Andel quickly wrote and handed the booklet back.
So, then what do you normally do around here for fun?

Irix actually had to think about that. What /did/ they do for fun? "Aside from playing with the companions? I guess... alot of trainees frequent taverns. They're great gathering places. Plus the bard trainees frequently practice there. It depends what you enjoy doing."

Andel wrote again, and then handed the book over to him. It slipped out of his hands though, and toppled to the floor, a few pages spilled out of it.

It was almsot an instant reaction, to lean down and pick up the scattered pages and the book, and as much as he tried to ignore it, he couldn't help but look at the contents of said pages.
(( plot advancment? lol ))

(No... not really... just trying to get the two to get to know eachother better, that's all, lol. My plot advances are fairly suttle most of the time, lol)
The majority of the pages hold very articulated drawings on them. There is one sketch that was just being done of Irix. It's hard to see it, but it's just there in view.

(( i see! i tend to do really obviouse things most of the time, plot advance wise.. its strange. ))
Irix beat his insatiable curiosity with a stick and let it lie in teh back of his mind twitching and bleeding. "You draw pictures?" he questioned, eyes wide in awe; his artistic tallent was limited to the leters of the alphabet. His younger suster could draw, but she was interested in making pony pictures, not people pictures. "c-can i see?"
