Her tribe's culture will come into focus more when she interacts with the others eventually - and when her tribe sends someone to bring her back. Might we have another runaway princess? I really liked your writing. I hope that you'll keep it up.
But there this little thing thats sort of nagging me. The mayor's wife seemed like she was introduced just to let us know Grayed's last name. I can't quite grasp what is it excatly but she doesn't act quite right to me. And that she seems to disappear a little too abruptly.
I'm not quite sure if I just read a little too much into. Might be just me.
Still, great job you have here! Thumbs up!
