One of the most disheartening moments in recent memory was when I was on my way to a Styx concert (which was AMAZING), and I saw that not only was there a Hinder concert, but that it was sold out. It was just another reminder of how far the music industry has fallen. The Miracle, Queen Now that's some good music right there. wink Pffft. Just because you don't like a band, doesn't mean they're bad. This I know. Just because something is popular does not mean that it's high quality. The music industry tends to follow what appeals to the people, not necessarily what takes the most talent. Nirvana was not the best grunge band, they were just the one that hit it big. Cobain's guitar work was mediocre, and his vocals were rough to say the least. The only particular strength they had was his talent as a lyricist. They just happened to have mass appeal. There are many underground rappers that will never make it big because they have messages in their songs, rather than just singing about how rich they are and how many hoes they have. The "gangster rap" is what's popular. That doesn't mean that it's good. In addition to this, Hinder is comprised of a bunch of cocky assholes. And, unlike people such as Axl Rose or Dennis DeYoung, they don't have the talent to pull off that attitude. Live and Let Die, Guns N' Roses

Whatever. They're good in some aspects. I admit their actual music isn't probably very good (I'm a horrible judge of that) and the vocals annoy me frequently, but I like the lyrics, and the story behind them really relates to my life. And no amount of arguing is going to change that and make me think that any of the songs by any of the bands/people you've mentioned is any better than those because I look at the quality of the content, not the quality of the music itself.

I admit their actual music isn't probably very good (I'm a horrible judge of that) and the vocals annoy me frequently, but I like the lyrics, and the story behind them really relates to my life. And no amount of arguing is going to change that and make me think that any of the songs by any of the bands/people you've mentioned is any better than those because I look at the quality of the content, not the quality of the music itself. These guys write songs about smoking pot and/or getting ******** up. I don't exactly find this to be high quality content. Then, their band members have the gall to have an interview like this: Rolling Stone Magazine RS: You seem to really have your biggest following in the middle of the country. Is that something you’d agree with? Austin Winkler: I would definitely agree as far as NY and LA with some of that artsy bullshit like OK GO, bands like that. I think they’re a bunch of fairies. Moving on to their website, they have a little section near the bottom they have their catfight of the week. Yes, each week let’s put up a picture of two slutbag groupies we met on the road and see which one is voted as the hottest, just to prove how much we love and respect women. Right? Arguing with me is like arguing with a brick wall. Not to mention you're on the internet arguing with a brick wall.
But I don't think you can judge them until you've heard all their songs. Sure, you know the basic idea of a couple, and you've heard the entirety of ONE of them, but you can't judge just from that.
I'm still going to listen to their songs, and still post about how much I like them whenever I listen to them.
(Also, I think he looks damn sexy in that picture)

The fact that you've felt compelled to reply obviously shows that whether you like to admit it or not, there is a part of you that does care that someone is calling out a band that you like. And the fact that you make a point to say it's not bothering you generally means that it is. 3. I personally will not listen to a band if the members of it are proven to be idiotic dumbasses who are to full of themselves to even recognize that somebody other than them has talent.

Obviously they were better than most people in order to get a record deal. I think the Killers are good. I think the Beach Boys are good. Good is a matter of opinion, kids. What someone else thinks is good may be crap to someone else. I personally hate AC/DC, and prefer the Paul McCartney Live and Let Die.
