Well Slow Decay is awesome! I read it in a day! I never put it down! LOL But it's really good if you haven't read it already. But I might read Another Life before Border Princes, that seems interesting. Or I may continue with Border Princes and see who he is. It seems he's close to Torchwood as there a line that says "Jack is Torchwood's rock and soul but James is it's heart" but yeah more on that later!

hmmn. The problem with having novels and a series is the problem with continuity. Will this person ever show up in the series? If he is important and doesnt appear, why bother including him in the books.

I agree, perhaps they're hinting what's going to be in series 2.

I really can't understand Border Princes.
But I haven't finished reading Slow Decay yet. On page 180 (or around there), and it's really, really, really, really, really good, though. o____o

Guess what! I've just found someting out, it explains this James character.
Apparently Wikipedia says Another Life is the first book followed by Border Princes then Slow Decay.
crying I've already read Slow Decay!! But all is not lost! Dispite Wikipedia saying there is a reading order my 37-yr' old friend who's disabled and reads about a book a day and knows practicaly everything about all sci-fi and fantasy books says there isn't any particular order so I'm gonna read Another Life then move back onto Border Princes.
Thought I'd best let you all know!

In Border Princes, you have to read right to the end to find out who James is. For those of you who don't want to have to read the book, I will explain it here as a spoiler: The rift is sort of like a border between many different worlds. James was originally from one of those worlds and was sent to keep an eye on the rift. He was disguised as a human and his memories were erased so that he could fit in better. To anyone around him it seems like he has always been there, but if they go too far away then they forget him completely. Hope that helps anyone who was too confused to finish the book!
