Kaleb's delighted grin returned, but he had to bite his lip before he outright asked Reno if he could practice more that afternoon. After calming his excitement somewhat he felt safer speaking up, even though he couldn't keep the eager tone out of his voice. "I-if you wanted to practice anytime, you'll give me a phone call?"

"Yea yea .. i'll call you when i want action that doesn't involve Rude's .... well yea." He laughed as Rufus glared at him.

Kaleb's mind was too innocent to fill in the blank as intended, and he was even too excited to get disgruntled and ask what Reno meant. He hadn't had anyone to practice with like that since leaving the academy, and Reno seemed to have such a variety of attacks to throw at him, so he was nearly bouncing with delight.
It was a struggle for him to keep his excitement in check, he would probably make himself ill if he didn't calm down a bit. "Was that all you needed me for today?" he asked, in a voice that sounded much calmer than he felt.

"Yes that is all i needed." He reached up to hold Reno's mouth shut when he tried to say something. "Reno has paperwork to do and i should be forcing him to do"

Kaleb glanced between Reno and Rufus, now wondering what it was Reno was trying to say that Rufus didn't want him to. "Do you mind if I walk back to the office with you?" He asked after a second. "I-I was thinking of walking home, but I don't know the way out from here..."

"That is fine." He shoved Reno toward the door and headed that way for himself. "I will get your hand print into the system so you can access the gym whenever you wish."

Kaleb followed with a nod, now back to trying to suppress his excitement. "I-I could come and practice on my own any time I wanted?"

"Yes. There are other rooms that offer a temporary partner should Reno be too busy to entertain you"

Kaleb blinked. "So I won't need to practice by myself?" He asked, his excitement growing. If he always had a sparring partner, it would be easy for him to try out any new shields he developed in a more rigorous way than what he was capable of on his own.

"Shadow creatures from the labs?" He questioned hesitantly, not quite so sure if he still liked the idea of always having someone to practice with. It sounded rather frightening.

"Yes. They are rather harmless as long as you don't let one get a hold of you." He chuckled as he headed down the hallway.

Kaleb fidgeted more as he followed along. "Wh-what would happen then?" He asked, not so sure he really wanted to know the answer, but if he did decide to use such a thing for practice it would be best to understand what he was up against.

"They bite" He headed back toward his office so he could make Reno do his work before he left the office for the evening.
"Hard" He patted Kaleb's shoulder. "Specially if they get your arm"

Kaleb fidgeted a bit more, and nearly jumped out of his skin when Reno touched his shoulder. "Th-they're not big though, are they?"
At least now that he was thorougly creeped out at the thought of fiendish shadow creatures with a nasty bite, he wouldn't have to worry so much about becoming overexcited.
