Sienna's heart nearly burst with joy when she finally saw Aquos and waited for him to meet her, clearly excited yet distracted at the same time. She laughed lightly at his questions as she nuzzled him back, taking in his scent and so happy that she'd made this choice after all. "I'm fine, I'm fine! I'm here in one piece after all." Spying Styker, she hesitated for a split moment as she was reminded of the cubs growing within her, and wondered how Aquos would take the news, before pushing it aside to nuzzle her new adopted son. "And how's my favorite warrior cub doing? Been keeping your daddy on his toes, I bet."

Stryker puffed out his chest. "Getting stonger by the mintue! Soon enough I'm going to take down an elephant!"

Aquos laughed at his boy. Stryker was nothing like he was as a cub. "I went to check up on Aoure and the girls the other day. It's just amazing in the short time since I've seen them how fast they are growing. Shui is already trying to speak." he seemed proud of this fact without known himself. "Anyways," he said nuzzling Sienna again. "I hope Santos and your parents didn't give you too much trouble for leaving."

Nimbus hadn't been even two seconds behin Aquos. He sat behind the white and teal male, waiting for a good moment to speak. At the mention ofhis father he laughed. "If father had given her trouble about it, you can be sure that she wouldn't be here right now." He smiled and flicked his tail towards the den. "Come on. I'm sure Sienna's tired, and thesooner we get her settled in the sooner she can rest." He stood up and began trotting back to the dens, where hopefully his lazy little son had woken and was on his way out on a hunt.

((If no one objects, I want to do a bit a time skip... sweatdrop *waves paw* If anyone objects, I can always get rid of the post xd ))

Sienna lay on a rock near the dens, and though she should've normally been enjoying the morning, she was as listless as ever. The news had been broken, first to Aquos, then to Nimbus and Skye, and last of all to Stryker though Aquos alone had taken on that task as she hadn't had the heart to say it aloud without falling to pieces. In fact, the knowledge that she had lost the cubs was already known to her family, and probably the Rose Petal pride knew by now too...but she no longer cared who knew.

She was growing ever more distant to those she loved dearly, especially to Aquos as she no longer felt like she was mate worthy, or perhaps the godess had decided she wasn't fit to be a mother. Her soul had nearly died the day she found out the truth for sure, and it just seemed to fade a little more each day since. Her mother had finally taken to making daily to not only provide her comfort and support, but also to provide what no other lion could...hope. Hope that she would be a mother, that she would be okay. Not to mention forcing her to eat and survive even if Sienna no longer found joy in the acts.

Thinking of her mother, Sienna looked around and sighed in small relief not to see her coming yet. Naida had left some time back to find some herbs that would induce her labor, since a shaman had told her that if the cubs were not out soon, she ran the risk of major infection and death. Sienna almost welcomed the thought, but she couldn't bear the look of pain in Aquos's eyes when she'd said that awhile back and now a part of her regretted it....it was a small part, but it was enough to keep her alive for now. So...she'd take the herbs, but she did not look forward to what would come once they began working in her system.

Thinking of them made her think of her brief encounter with the ghost cub named Zoe...she looked so familiar, but Sienna had a hard time placing why as she didn't know she was Santos's sister. Still...her words echoed in her head, and since that time, she'd caught glimpses of cubs from the corner of her eyes, but each time she turned to really look, they were gone...Zoe had said she knew the truth in her heart, and Sienna finally thought about it hard. It had to be them...my cubs...watching over me...over my family... The thought made her cry, but for once in a long time, she no longer looked half dead. It was at that time that Naida returned carrying a small bundle in her mouth which she made Sienna eat, though she wasn't listening to anything her mother said.

The blue sky that normally brightened Heaven's Hopes everyday had been replaced by looming clouds, darkening every members mood. As the Cloud King emerged from his den he headed straight for Sienna's, wanting to make sure all was at least okay.

It was no secret that Nimbus kept in close contact with his father. It seemed recently that bond had strengthened. The gloomy news was something Nimbus had not been prepared to handle as a new king. Even Santos was shocked and confused as to what to do. So the only thing Nimbus could do was to allow Sienna's friends and family entrance to the pride whenever needed, especially Naida. Heaven knew Sienna needed the support.

"Naida..." He stopped at the entrance to the den, bowing his head to the lioness who had been like an Aunt to him. With a flick of his tail he motioned for her to come outside with him so they could speak.

As much as Aquos wanted to be with Sienna he knew that he couldn't be. He had taken Stryker out for a walk while Naida took care of Sienna. He's heart ached to be beside her right now, to comft her, to do something to help her....But there was nothing he could do. He had offered Winter and Talos to tag along with him and Stryker if they wanted to come. If they did, Aquos hadn't notice. He hadn't notice much or how long they had been traveling, his mind was too busy thinking about Sienna to process anything else...Besides the fact that he had noticed Stryker talking to himself a lot lately...Was something wrong with his son too? No...No...He couldn't think like that...Not now...

Stryker watched helplessly as he followed his dad on such a dark day. He wasn't dumb, he knew what was going on...His siblings told him before disappearing. He hoped they were watching over Momma Sienna...She needed them more than ever now today....Was she going to be ok?

Talos had indeed tagged along, watching Aquos with concern. He knew where the lion wanted to be... "Aquos... Aquos? Go be with Sienna. She needs your support. I'll take Stryker out for a swim or something." He gave a sympathetic smile to the older lion, nodding his head. He wanted to talk to Stryker anyway, there was something that the cub knew that the rest did not. It was then that his eyes widened at a white figure in the distance. "Grandpa!" He grinned for the first time in a long while.
Santos was sadly not able to return his grandson's grin. He closed the distance between them and nuzzled the top of the winter male's head. "You take Stryker to play in the fields, the water is running a bit high today." He turned to face Aquos, face serious. "You're coming with me." And with that, he was walking again, heading for the dens. He'd heard about what was going on today and he knew Sienna would need some support, as would Nimbus. It was just like Santos to take charge in a serious matter...

When Nimbus called, Naida silenced in mid-thought the instructions she'd been giving to Sienna, it was obvious her oldest daughter wasn't hearing a word of it anyways, lost in her own thoughts as she was. She did notice a bit of change come over her, though why was beyond her knowledge, and so with a brief nuzzle, she walked out to meet the Cloud King. "Good morning, Nimbus," she said with a smile, though the weariness showed in every inch of her being. This was taking almost as much out of Naida as it was Sienna.

Sienna strayed from her thoughts long enough to register her mother leaving, though she hadn't even heard Nimbus's voice. Glad to be alone again, she smacked her lips and made a face, only just now realizing how bitter the herbs really had been. "Yech!" she muttered as she tried to spit some of the taste out. It was a lost cause, though and so she gave it up. Not like she had energy to spare, anyways. Now what was it her mother had said about the herbs?

Oh well, it wasn't important anyways. Nothing was, it seemed, except for the pain in her heart and soul, and what she saw everytime she looked in Aquos's eyes. She could barely do that anymore, it was just too much and made her feel worse to know that she'd failed him. Not to mention Stryker and their newest adoptive daughter Dotty.
((I FORGOT ABOUT DOTTY!! gonk Oh well, now's as good a time as any to get her in the pride too xd )) A sigh escaped her lips and for the hundredth time that hour (or so it seemed) she wished she could just die and spare everyone the pain she was causing them.

Mom....be brave....

Be strong....

And it seemed for the hundredth time she'd heard those voices calling to her to be strong. Three distinct voices. She didn't even know if they were real or not, or just part of her delusion that she called a life. Whatever they were, they reached to her soul called to her. Whispering she answered them aloud this time, "Why?"

But no answer came. Instead, the first of many contractions began to rip through her, and she cried out a little in pain as she rolled to the floor and curled up. The herbs were finally taking effect. Opening her eyes slightly, she saw two little cubs staring at her from a corner. One of lilac with a mask of green, and one who looked just like Aquos, but his green and white colors switched... closing her eyes, she told herself they were hallucinations of the pain...that was all...
PostPosted: Fri Jul 06, 2007 6:51 pm

"Mom...Don't worry..." the last of the trio appeared beside her ghostly siblings. She had been off watching Dotty play with Mizu and Shiu. Aquos had asked Aoure to look after Dotty untill the cubs had been taken care of. He didn't wait Dotty to be here while the whole deal with the stillborn deal was going on..It wasn't fair to her. Rosa looked to her siblings and whispered to them. "How is she doing?"

Aquos didn't even seem to notice Talos talking, not to be rude, his mind was too busy. But Santos talking snapped him out of it. "Right. Stryker, be good." Such a understatment. Aquos took off after Santos, walking beside him once he had caught up. Aquos hoped Sienna would be ok untill they got to the dens...

Stryker padded over to Talos and sat between his paws. All the stress and tention around was getting to him. The cub mewed quietly as his ears fell to the ground. "Cousin Talos...Is momma Sienna going to smile again?"

Santos watched Aquos walk out of the corner of his eye, using the silence to think clearly. "You should have asked Talos to take Styker out. Would have saved you the trouble of walking back with me." His gaze moved forward to look at the dens as they approached them. Upon spotting Nimbus and Naida he was quickly by his sons side. "How is she doing?"
Nimbus looked shocked to see his father there, but quickly remembered how concerned Santos always was about his family, whether they were blood by blood (or adoption) or not. "I.. was just going to ask Naida the same thing." He looked at the water lioness hopefully. "Has she changed at all? Even just slightly?" Perhaps ther was hope... There had to be... Heaven's Hope right?
Talos looked down at the cub and licked the top of his head. Such a cute little tyke. "Of course she will. We just have to give her time..." He settled himself down on his belly and looked into the cub's eyes. "Stryker.. you know something your parents don't, don't you?" His face was serious and his eyes lost their normal winter sparkle. "You have a secret..."

Aquos looked at his past king. "Very depressed....She avoids looking a me now a days...I wanted to give her a little space." he explained though as soon as then got to the den Aquos ran past Nimbus and Naida and went straight to his mates side. "Sienna!" he nuzzled her before laying beside her. He wasn't going to leave her side any more. "I'm sorry..I should have been here with you..." he told her as three figuers disappeared from sight.

Stryker sifted uncomfterbly as Talos asked him the question. Should he tell him? Would he believe him...He and Dotty were talking to their dead siblings! It sounded so...So crazy! It was at this point that Stryker relized he was taking a long time to answer Talos..No going back now...".....maybe....." he said almost in a whisper for a voice.

Talos pulled Stryker closer. "You know you can trust me right?" He tilted his head. "We're buddies! The two amigos!" He tried to sound a bit happy, though failing. "You can tell me anything. I won't laugh, I won't tell, nothing." It wasn't often that Talos was serious, but this was one of those rare times.

Stryker shifted again. There was no point in hiding..."I've...I know this sound...insane..And I don't understand it myself...But...I've been talking to my siblings...My..Dead ones...They apeared one day...Two girls and a boy....Rosa, Lilac, and Cosmo...They've been apearing to me and Dotty...Dotty doesn't understand yet but...They say...They told me they are going to be looking after mommy and daddy.....Don't..Don't tell anyone..Or...Or I'll never talk to you aggain." the cub seemed to be holding back tears as much as he could.

Lilac was pacing now in worry, biting her lip and unable to respond, so it was Cosmo that answered Rosa as she appeared. "I'm not sure...I'm scared, Rosa. Grandma is taking good care of Mama, but she's only hanging on by a thread. I'm not even sure of how much Daddy can take of this...and if he lost Mama..." He let his voice drift off, not wanting to bring up the worst case scenario that might happen. He was interrupted in his thoughts by the appearance of Aquos who'd curled around Sienna, blocking her from veiw. Motioning to his sisters to follow, he disappeared, the reappeared on the other side of the den where he could still watch over their Mother, Lilac following suit but still worry drove her to pace back and forth. Neither cub were invisible, but also neither one of them thought their parents in much condition to notice them anyways.

Naida hung her head and sighed, and was just as glad to see Aquos move past them all than to hear the news she gave. "No change that I can see. Seems every day we lose a bit more of her as she just drifts off into her thoughts and it about takes a miracle to snap her out of it. I have, however, given her some very potent herbs that will induce her labor since she runs a high risk of infection and death...they should in fact be in effect by now..." She was cut off by a low cry of pain coming from inside the den, and she turned instinctively to look the way she'd come. From what the shaman had said, the labor would come strong and fast, and she worried that Sienna lacked the strength to get through it, she was so weak. However, she said nothing about that, the look on her face evidence enough that the hope Sienna would pull through either way was running very slim.

After crying out in pain as another contraction took her, Sienna bit down hard on her lip, and drew blood. She honestly hadn't meant to, but the taste of the blood in her mouth was enough to bring her back to reality and to realize that Aquos was nearby once more. She wondered how long he'd been there, then decided the answer wasn't important, that he was here, and that was all that mattered. "They're coming," was all she managed to say to him as she panted. The herbs were indeed extremely potent and they speeded up the birthing process enormously to the point that once it really started, the contractions would come hard and fast, not like normal labor. It was intense, and brutal, and honestly Sienna thought she'd rather enjoy being disembowled alive than to keep going through this intense pain.

After a partially intense one, she lay leaning against Aquos and opened her eyes once more to see the two cubs from earlier and a third one that looked like a combination of herself and Aquos. What the hell did Mom give me? Gah, now I'm hallucinating three of them... Closing her eyes, she didn't bring them to Aquos's attention, thinking he'd just worry more if he knew she was seeming onlyto get worse. She wondered if it was the pain that was bringing this all on, though she the fact she'd heard the voices long before now surely told her that wasn't the case. The only thing she knew for sure was that the first of the cubs was going to be born very soon...

Lilac, taking a chance, spoke to both parents, "Mama..Daddy...just remember we love you...Be strong...Everything will be okay..."

((Twitchy, lemme know if you don't mind the order of Cosmo, Lilac and then Rosa...Rosa just seems to be the youngest, she has more of those traits, and Lilac's got more of Sienna's personality of being the middle child than much else. However, I'm willing to work with whatever you wanna do with Rosa, if you want her born earlier like first or second is totaly fine with me xd ))
