Bluefuzzy Yeah, I like the chrestomanci series the best to. I like the 9 lives of christopher one. yeah that one's good too. The first one I read was Charmed Life. it got me onto all of DWY's other books. I also like (have I mentioned these???) Secret Sacrament and all other books by Sherryl Jordarn - great author, The Power of Three - a DWJ book, and the Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan.

i read a bit of it but i stopped cause it reminded me of what i call the "Jonothan Strange style" which meant it had footnotes that tried to convince you it was read like for example if a spell in HP had a footnote that said : For more information on this charm, refer to Standard Book of Spells 2.

Bluefuzzy I started reading when I was nine too. So, you have no excuse. wow, i started reading a lot at nine too, but i haven't read nearly as many books as you have! i mean wow, you're awesome ^^ When i started getting into reading, i was reading all the Michael Chrichton books like Timeline, Jurrasic Park, the great train robbery, etc. Then i started reading Dean Koontz books but only a couple of them were good. xp

No, I mean I did not know how to read until I was nine. Then the first thing I read for pleasure was Harry Potter. From there on, I have read hundreds of books; some of which where excellent; some where horrid. I usually read ten books at once. And being homeschooled, and thus having alot of time on my hands does help.
Isidar: No, he wasn't trying to convince us it was 'real', it was to get inside of Barty's head. Besides, the whole thing with first person and sidenotes was very good in my mind. it shows that the author's mind isn't only skin deep. Look at LOTR.

But wait, did the Bartimeaus trilogy have appendices in the back? Or did it refer to another event in the book with the footnote? Because if Bartimeaus doesn't have a appenix, then the comparason between both trilogies is harder.
