I don't think it should matter, what we listen to and how we dress are aspects of ourselves, yes, but they shouldn't label or define you. It only fuels the sterotypes and can be limiting.

it doesnt matter i wear like a mix of punk goth street and other stuff butt i still listen to stuff like techno rap and even a little dave matthews

I REALLY DON'T THINK THAT IT SHOULD MATTER ON WHAT YOU WEAR. I DRESS PUNK ONE DAY THEN GHETTO THE NEXT. THE WAY YOU DRESS SHOULD COUNT ON THE MOOD THAT YOU ARE IN NOT THE MUSIC YOU LISTEN TO.

definately not, i dont think that you should have to dress the way that people expect you to dress according to the music you wear. its bs. dress the way you want and dont let anyone tell you how to dress! wooooo! rock on.

Naw, thats stupid! You shouldn't have to wear certain cloths cause you listen to a certain music!
I wear whatever I want, and what I'm comfortable in. People like that make me sick! They should get a freaking life!

I think it depends. I personally like to dress in mainly black, but I wear other things (like plaid and pastel) off and on. Because of the school I go to and the job I have, I normally look like a gothic prep although I listen to: emo and regular rock, pregressive, trance, techno, and Japanese rock. I would LIKE to dress more in the style of music I enjoy, but that's nigh unto impossible.

well i dont think that clothes matter becuase your music is something that you can lock away into your head and your heart wear as your clothes arent even skin deep i think that you wear what you are comfortable with and listen to the music you enjoy best........ now if you choose the music by the way you look you could feel uncomfortable. Im not that emo or really not that gothic but the thing is i really really like heavy rock, camdon i wouldnt feel ashamed or anything that girl was wrong and she shouldnt hav done that because in the end everyone is different.

Well, I could never ever do that! I like too many different types of music!!! I mean, I'd be hillbilly/ghetto/rock/metal/techno/everything in the entire world. I don't think I could ever make that work!

no I don't think it should, but unfortunately when music gets caught up in society, stereotypes begin to arise and begin to push open the wrong envelope and our own beliefs begin to be eliminated and the type of clothes we do wear begin to reflect what society thinks we listen to.... as I said, I don't think it should but unfortunately it does or so society thinks.. and the power of society is sometimes more powerful that the beliefs of very few.. but we still have our opinions and our beliefs and thats all that matters

i don't think people should have to, but people do tend to dress to what they're listening to cuz the moods are similar. i dress all nice guy when listening to damien rice, polo shirt when listening to LP, chains and makeup when i'm listening to josie and the pussycats. i listen to the music and dress to reflect and even play with my mood.
