Deidara is the one who begins the assault on the Sand village to abduct the Kazekage Gaara, her mission is successful and she had obtained Gaara. She is extremely smart and her attacks have the power of C4 blasts.
Deidara is traveling around with Sasori gathering the other 7 tailed demons of the world. Deidara is a long distant fighter and is not the best at taijutsu as shown in her fight with Gaara. Her long range attacks are strong and damaging, she is one member you do not want to underestimate.

I don't understand, Deidara never looked like a girl to me ( the only female akatsuki member is most likly that unknow blue haired person). Anyways I was just looking at the cover of vol#31 and his eyes looked greenish to me (though it is kind of hard tell) and also in the picture http://i13.tinypic.com/352fzpk.jpg it looks more greenish to me. But in the anime, from what I remember is blue

They're blue. I have vol. 31 in Japanese and they're most definitely blue.
