The dreaded discussion with Corey's family hadn't gone as badly as anticipated. In fact his parents were almost eager to get rid of him. Corey didn't really blame them, even though they would be missing one income, they would also be missing another mouth to feed, and schooling to pay for. That made a big difference.
The following three days passed in a haze of confusion. Quitting his job was first on the priority list, and a rather odd experience. He had never quit a job before. Packing was one of the things he barely remembered doing it. Oh, it was quite obvious he had packed by the bags filled with stuff he needed, Corey just wasn't quite sure how it had all gotten there. Excitement and nervousness were a constant buzz, he hadn't had a lot of time to spend with all of them in a long time. Social situations always made him feel so awkward, but he had missed his friends a lot.
The blue jeans and black t-shirt he picked out to wear the first day felt so plain for a road trip, but he shrugged at his reflection, shoving his glasses up his nose. They were practical, and comfortable. It would be a long drive. He dove for the phone when it rang, only to hear Rachel's cheery voice and barely have a chance to respond before she had hung up, calling whoever else she had to call. His face had gone crimson at the lover comment. As if, really, they were all such exuberant people.
It was his mother who deposited him in Rachel's driveway. She was the one taking the car to work that day, and had nicely gone in late so she could drop him off there. With duffel bag in one hand, and backpack slung over his back, he nodded good bye as the car pulled away. He was on his own now.
"It's been a long time," he muttered to himself, hesitantly making his way to the door.

((MY TURN TO POST, HOOOMGGGG!!!! *spazzes and types* Sorry it took so long. I suck. I know it, you know it, the world knows it... LEAVES ME ALONE! *sobs and types*))
When Wally and Nada arrived, Peter grinned at Wally evenly giving him a bit of a nod and then turned his attention onto Nada who fell quite unceremoniously out of the car. He stuck his hand over his mouth to stifle a very loud laugh, and only just managed to do so. He raised his eyesbrows lightly and removed his hand from his mouth which was curving into that familliar smile.
"And she stuck the landing." He remarked, raising his arms above his head as he did one of those silent screams in the imitation of a crowd going wild. He snorted and shook his head. "Graceful as a ballerina who came to the recital with a hangover." He stated jokingly.
Peter then put a hand to his own empty stomach. "She makes a good point... I'm pretty much half starved... like I always am." He remarked and then turned his dark eyes onto Rachel who apologized for being so excited and then other such nonsense. Peter frowned and peered at her from beneath a furrowed brow.
"Don't apologize. What are you crazy? Who would I make fun of for being too excited then? Ava HITS me when I make fun of her... so I like making fun of you best because you're nicer than the bitter cheerleader." The teen said with a winning smile. "And I wouldn't let you down, Rachel. None of us would...! When we said we were in, we MEANT we were in! That and I am the MOST depenable person I know. In fact.... I am SO DEPENDABLE and I love you SO MUCH... I'm going to raid your kitchen and not decline your invitation to do so! That'd be rude." He glanced over at Nada. "Come on, homie! To the kitchen!" And he pointed dramatically in some vague direction... and then in a sort of anti clamatic way merely ambled into the house.
"I'm going to bother your brother." He called back over his shoulder from someplace deeper within the house.
((hahaha, I was gonna have him say hi to Corey... but that would have involved him like... tackling him... and that's not a Peter thing to do... so I'll leave that piece of fun for someone else! MWA!...*ambles off* Hopefully that got some things moving again.

((Yeah, I suck. I didn't post last night. So, I post now, before work! (hopefully O.O) And Raina, love? Yeah, just read the last little bit, it'll get you going... As for the other pages? It's all character development really... Haha since that's what this RP's really all about. O.o)))
"I got about half the sleep I wanted..." Avalon replied to Wally's comment, "Though, you shouldn't criticize zombies so; they're people too!" She gave a stern nod, hands comically on her hips. ((Haha, I just sneezed all over the computer screeeeeen)) "And good morning to you, Nada... I had no idea you could transform into a zombie. Cool. Coffee must be your zombie's kryptonite... Or bullet to the head? Something. I'm not making sense. So I'll shut up."
Avalon shook her head when Rachel started apologizing, then seemed to get a little down. "Mood swings much? Rach, don't worry about it... Be yourself, you're only around your best friends EVER. No need to APOLOGIZE, ya ninny." She then gave a little skip, "Insiiiiiiide we go!"
Though, she stopped when she spotted Corey coming out of his mother's car, being particularly shy again. Once spotted, she fell into a sort of crouched position, oddly coloured eyes narrowed slightly, "I spy with my little eye, a Cooooooooreyyyyyyyy." That announcement made, she sprinted over to him as if she were going to tackle him, made a flying leap, gave a graceful flip (JUST to show off her cheerleading skills, despite the fact she KNEW she was going to get some sort of comment from Peter) and landed smack in front of the boy. "Long time no see!" She then gave him a big hug. "And glad you could make it, Cor. Let's not sulk about in the shadows! Come on, come on..." And she grabbed a couple of his bags and his hand, and quite decidedly pulled him inside, giving his mother a bit of a wave to let her know he was in good hands.
They made it inside, and after dropping off luggage, found their way to the kitchen, where Peter seemed to be in food wonderland, and Sam (Rachel's brother) looking somehow abused. "...Dude, what'd Peter DO to you? Last time I saw THAT look on your face... Scratch that, I don't bring that memory back up." She flashed a taunting sort of grin and grabbed a bagel off the counter. "So Wally, you DID write in stops to make on the way, right? Because I am SO serious about the world's largest ball of yarn."
((Yes. BALL OF YARN. XD *skips aboot in circles and runs off to work*))

Corey's expression alone was one that could set people laughing. He looked torn between amusement, excitement and nervousness. On top of that he was trying to supress any facial expression beside the huge smile that cracked over his face slowly.
When Ava hugged him, he looked even more confused, as though he didn't know quite what to do with himself, but he grinned anyways, "Now, now, how can I be sulking in the shadows, if they just so happen to be my friends? They don't take insult very well you know." The matter of fact serious tone of his voice made it hard to tell that Corey was indeed joking...if one wasn't listening to the content of his words, it wouldn't be obvious that he was just being silly.
Still, once inside he stood about, looking rather unsure. Corey wasn't the type to easily lounge around. He was always bad with the large crowds, but somehow he managed a smile, "Lovely morning, isn't it?" was the comment directed at whoever cared to answer.

Anna woke up at nine-ish, her short hair sticking up at impossible angles. Running a hand through it to get it to cooperate, she grimaced at her reflection in her bathroom mirror. Sticking her tongue out, she left the room angrily. Of course, that didn't last long, once she found out that her mom was making pancakes for her downstairs, a special treat, seeing as it was her last day at home. "Mmm... Makes me feel four again!" She told her mother, reaching for a napkin to wipe the syrup off her cheek.
Plopping down on the couch, she rubbed at her head before snagging the remote from her dad's hands. Scowling at the reflection of her in her television, she attempted, once again, to make her hair flat. Getting up, she stalked from the living room.
Anna took a long shower, letting the steam from the water float over her. She would miss this on the trip. The longest amount of time she'd be spending in a shower would be five minutes, for the next few months or so.
After she got out, she checked to see if she had packed everything, especially the tambourine she found while searching through all her old stuff. Patting the suitcase fondly, she went into her room to sit and think. A phone call from Rachel told her to get over to her house as soon as possible- something she was all too happy to do. Of course, she had almost forgotten that her mom was going to drive her. And her mom took forever to get ready.
Groaning, Anna leaned her head against the doorframe as she waited to leave.
((O_o Mmm... RAWR.))

Nada grumbled something hardly audible about people being annoying in the morning and way to happy. Her fist clenched and she aimed for Rachel before seemingly getting distracted by Peter when he walked into the house.
"Hey sweetie, wait up for Mommy." Nada lifted up off of Wally and stumbled after Peter, hands out like a mummy. As she smelled coffee to the side she turned on a heel, licked her lips and bolted into the kitchen. "Coffee!" she yelped and snatched the pot from under the coffee maker. She held it up and poured directly from the pot into her mouth for about a minute until she finally got a mug and poured it into there instead.
She finally became more awake to talk and looked over to Peter with her wide toothy smile. "Black coffee, best stuff in the whole freakin' world." She humed in a make shift song and gulped down some more before leaning over the counter, grabbing some wheat bread and putting into her mouth. "Mornings are like the reincarnation of the devil." Her worlds were mashed together as she chewed her bread. "Like SERIOUSLY!" she waved her mug around, the coffee skillfully splashing up and then falling back into it's container.
"I thought school was over, makin' us wake up this damn early like I'm some wind up toy like the other girls. I'm really just a boy in a girl's body. I want to sleep until the sun goes down like a VAMPIRE! Suck people's blood and run around yelling obscanities like I had parkinson's disease...or whatever that thing is called." She finally stopped talking, walking over to Peter's side and leaned her head agaisnt his shoulder, instead of Wally being her post like before, now Peter was. "You know how cool that'd be? I could turn people into Vampires and make a whole race of super powered immortals who yelled every 5 minutes and then broke out in a jig. My stomach just growled." She finished off her bread and then grabbed another peice.
"Ever see that movie about vampires? Vampires are boring now that I think about it, because they don't do anything but kill people. How rude." Sighing heavily she finished off her coffee and poured some more. "Rachel's gonna need to make some more before I drink it all. Yeah, Peter, I didn't want to wake up early. But ya know...life's just a big pile of cow poop. Sometimes sweet and mushy and othertimes stinky and makes you want to vomit up your whole days worth of meals. And sometimes you'd have to vomit up flies too...because if you ate it...you'd eat flys. Not delightful huh? Unless you like that stuff. I'll shut up." With this said she continued chewing on her bread and watching the others with tired caramel eyes.
((Haha...she talks alot when she is tired...I guess...alright, there's my post. Be happy I say.))

((HOKAY! TRY AGAIN! But this time IT WILL WORK, HOMG!))
Peter, when he had arrived in the kitchen, immediately found on the kitchen counter just what he was looking for: a box of assorted doughnuts. Grinning dreamily he gripped the box and pulled it towards himself. He then set himself up in a chair, legs crossed and box of holey pasteries in his lap. Not wasting anytime with picking an especially large one with chocolate frosting and rainbow spinkles, he took a very large bite and sighed quite happily.
Doughnuts were worth getting up for in the morning.
Then Peter watched laughingly as Nada drank straight from the coffee pitcher.
"Geez, woman." He said around a mouthful of doughnut. "I'm amazed you haven't OD-ed on that caffine stuff. That stuff is SO bad for you." He swallowed and started on his second doughnut. "It's gonna give you a heart attack." He said, his words hardly audible, being they were muffled by at least half a doughnut.
Then when his shoulder was leaned upon and he was ranted on about all sorts of things, he only smiled in a lop sided sort of way. "Mmm'yes. Vampires. They really aren't very nice, are they? But hey, man, they can't help it. For serious. They gotta eat too, ya know?" He finished his third doughnut. "And hey, chick vampires? They are HOTT. Especailly the red headed ones. Holy CRAP, red headed BABES!" He grinned and waggled his eyebrows. "Oh yeah. I like those kinda vampires. They can bite me ANYTIME. No joke."
"Vampires aside." Peter said turning his attention onto the others. "When are we getting this show on the road, hm?... Pun not intended... GOD, it's early." He grunted. "I hate puns."

((Kay I'm back & posting! Wooh! Sorry, I just didn't feel like working on this all of hols. YEEHOO!))
Rachel lounged around the kitchen as the rest of them assembled. Once everyone had gathered together, she directed them all to the large island in the middle of the room. "Group meeting!" She declared.
"Okay," she started calmly, "now that we've all eaten and everything, I'd say it's about time we get going. Everyone's gone to the washroom? Good. If we have to stop every twenty miles because someone drank too much water I will seriously smack someone. That said, OH MY GOSH we are actually all going on a road trip together!!" She clapped her hands together excitedly, grinning. "Is everyone not so excited? Shut up, I know you are. So...to the vehicle! Let's load that s**t up!"
Once everything was packed and ready to go, and everyone was safely seated and buckled in, Rachel turned around from the driver's seat to address everyone. "Okay, so we're going to take four hour shifts driving. I'll take the first one, and all y'all can duke it out as to who goes after me. When we hit a good place to stop for the night, we stop. Also, we're allowed to stop at any place that seems interesting...because this is a road trip and I have my digital camera all ready to go and we're taking forty trillion pictures. Yeah?"
She then rolled down the window, waved to Sam (who was standing at the door to say goodbye), started the car...and finally hit the road.
((Thatwasfast.))

((Haha okay, this ain't gonna be too long... *types*))
Avalon had opted to take one of the middle seats, and the moment she sat down, was asleep against the window. Her mouth was hanging slightly open, and threatened to leak a bit of drool if she slept on like that for too long. It had been a rather restless night due to the excitement, but now that they were actually going? Of course she was out like a light.
Well, more like a dying lightbulb. Every time the van would hit a bump, she'd wake up slightly, glance around with a glazed-over expression, then shift and fall asleep again. At some point she ended up using Peter's shoulder as a pillow... A rather uncomfortable, bony pillow, but at that point, she didn't much care.
About the third time she'd been half-woken by a pothole, she voiced a question that had been dancing in her sleep-murky mind, "So what's our first stop?"
((haha SO SHORT. And pointless... But man, hahahaha I fall asleep in cars like that ALL THE TIME. I wonder how I manage it really...))

Nada had upright claimed the back seat window. If anything she was going to sleep all the way there, a girl needed her rest, beauty sleep or not. Before they had gotten the bags in the trunk, she grabbed her sketchbook and pencil, an artist couldn't be unprepared...specially on a road trip when there was opportunities for open air drawing.
She had expected herself to fall asleep, but instead started drawing random portraits of her friends. She leaned back in the seat and hummed to herself, feeling the coffee kick in. She doodled a picture of Wally, having fun drawing the muscles of his arms and pretty much everything. She got a little carried away and suddenly threw in a huge smiling sun that was screaming at the realistic looked Wally. "I SHINE ON YOU" it said in capital letters and it sent Nada into a fit of giggles.
"Hahaha..." she realized she was the only one talking, pouted and went onto a new picture, glancing out the window every so often. "Can we stop at a lake or something? I wanted to try to draw some scenery of every state we cross through. It's my goal. It'll make a good portfolio for college too ya know."

((Maaaan... I forgot how much I hate school... :[ *poopy face*))
By the time Anna had actually gotten to Rachel's house, the others were already loading their bags into the back of the van, which was starting to look a lot less roomy than it had the last time she saw it. Following suit and dumping her duffle bag in with the rest, she snatched her ipod before it was at the point of no return (also known as the bottom of the luggage pile) and shuffled away to find a seat for herself.
She got a window seat, and quickly found a comfortable position before burying herself under a blanket. Putting her earphones in to block out all noise, Anna closed her eyes and leaned her head against the dirty window. The sun beat down on her upturned face as she listened to the sounds of the others talking and making a lot of noise outside the van.
It was then that she realized how tired she was, despite the eight hours of sleep she had gotten the night before, and she drifted off, still listening to U2.
She woke up after a particularly nasty pothole almost sent her head into the car's roof. Blinking drowsily at the other occupants of the van, Anna yawned loudly, turning in her seat to look at what Nada was drawing.
((Pftooie for pointless stuffs...?!))
