Grete Llaire

Grete's grip on Charlot's hand tightened momentarily, afraid that she might still fall. She didn't, though, so she relaxed.

"It's that one back there. With the table in front of it." Grete smiled a bit triumphantly, "So you think of me as a friend? That's nice. Good to know that you think of me as a friend instead of just," She hiccuped again, "A pretty girl that you can drink with. If you think I'm pretty. You know. If not, then, just some girl that you can drink with."

Grete's words were still slurred, and she prayed that Charlot didn't think she was some sort of alcoholic.

"Oi think y'very pretty, Grete." He laughed a little, leading them toward the back trailer and the table. Funny, to put a table in front of your tailer. "...and a friend Oi can drink with. Not many people c'n 'old thier liquor, or enjoy drinkin' and smokin'. Nice change, if y'ask me."

He paused at the table, leaning her against it. "This it?"

Grete put her weight on the table, but continued to cling to Charlot. She wasn't exactly fond of the idea of toppling right over onto the table. Grete thought that she could make it to her bed to go to sleep, but she wasn't sure if getting to the door would be a hazard.

She also glowed from being told that she was pretty. If she wasn't drunk, she would've kept that under wraps, but, considering that she was, she followed it up with a slurred, "I think you're pretty, too."

Grete looked up at the trailer and nodded. "This would be mine."

Charlot couldn't recall ever being called 'pretty' before, so he laughed and grinned like an idiot.

"Oh, wh'thankyouverymuch..." He looked up at the trailer, eyes narrowed as he gauged the distance from the table to the door and his ability to get there and open it. "Hmmm..."

"C'mon, s'not that far." He tugged her toward the door, making it carefully up the little stairs and pushing it open. He glanced around in the dark, unsure if he walked in if he'd slam into some form of furnaiture. "There anythin' in there that's gonna kill me?"

Grete was being led to her trailer, and she allowed herself to be. She didn't mind, and it wasn't exactly like she could make it there herself. Grete was fairly sure that Charlot wouldn't run her into anything. Plus, she realized as he began to lead her by the waist that she was even shorter than she thought in comparison to Charlot. Grete didn't really mind, as she always felt safer around men that were taller than she was. She quickly looked around the dark trailer, trying to remember if there were any obstacles.

"Um, I don't think anything will kill you," She paused, and tried to think.

"There's nothing really in the floor. Other than some clothes. Oh, and don't bang your shins on the coffee table. That might be kinda bad." Grete hiccuped, and bit her bottom lip slightly.

"Everything else is out of the way. Or, you know, against the wall."

She laughed, and then gave Charlot a coy smile.

"Mmm. Do you do this for all of the girls you get drunk with?"

Charlot paused once they were in Grete's trailer. He glanced around into the darkness for a long time, waiting for his eyes to adjust and for the alcohol to let him see a bit clearer than he was. That never came.

"Mmm... well, oi think y'should be able to make y'way to y'bed and sleep this off a bit, hmm?"

He managed to navigate around the coffee table without injuring himself or her, and paused beside her bed.

    "Y'should be okay from 'ere."

Grete smiled at him, and tried to see him through the dark. She knew roughly where he was, but not exactly.

"Thanks. A lot," Grete said slowly, and coughed quietly. She didn't care about changing into anything at this point, she just wanted to go to sleep. Before she climbed into bed, she looked up at Charlot with big eyes.

"Will you be able to find your way back?"

"Oi think so," Charlot grinned at her, letting her go once he was sure she'd either stand or fall back onto her bed. He glanced around, squinting into the dark as he searched for the door again in the darkness.

"G'night, Grete..." He turned around, weaving his way back through the room. He was doing just fine until he found the only scraps of furniture in the room.

Charlot's shin slammed into the low coffee table with a loud CRACK. He let out a yelp, darting back from the table- but his feet caught on a scrap of clothing on the ground. He spun around, feet tangled in god knew what underfoot- and fell to the floor.

    @___@... "Bury me 'ere."

"Oh god."

Grete walked (stumbled, really) to around where she was sure that her coffee table was. She nearly tripped over Charlot, and she uttered a small squeak.

She sat down, and tried to find the article of clothing that had caused Charlot to fall. Grete could feel her face getting warm, and she cursed herself for not keeping a very clean home.

Grete sighed as she began to speak, "Where is it?" She continued to search for the clothing, and she wound up grabbing Charlot's shoulder instead. She frowned.

"Well, at least I know where your shoulders are now," She smiled and laughed.

Charlot grunted something that sounded like 'i lost me 'at', and remained where he lay.

"Where is whot?" He questioned, eyes squinting up at where he thought she was. He could smell her close and felt her hand touch his shoulder. "That'd be me." He grinned back at the dark, sitting up enough to peer down at his feet.

"I had something here the other night. I figured that's what you tripped over. A short little black ...dress. I'm so sorry," Grete was deep in thought at this point, and her hand remained on Charlot's shoulder for a few moments.

"Did you say that you lost your hat?" Grete felt guilty, and began to search for it, as well as the dress that Charlot had tripped over.

"Do you have any idea where it might've gone?" She rolled her eyes at herself and added, "Well, that was a stupid thing to ask. You probably don't."

Charlot tilted his head, waiting for the smoke to clear that had settled after he'd fallen.

"Mmm... yeah. It's around 'ere somewhere. It's alright, it'll show up. No use 'unting f'it now when it's dark and we're both a tiny bit drunk." He sighed, glancing toward her voice. "There anything else on th'floor Oi should be watchin' for?"

Grete felt bad that now she had Charlot's hat as well. She frowned, but figured that it was okay since he had said so himself.

"Well, I don't think so. At least I hope not," Grete laughed, and sat up on her knees, "You sure that you'll be able to get home in one piece?"

Grete then leaned forward. She knew roughly where Charlot was, so, she figured that then...

"Aha!" She exclaimed, as she snatched up the dress that had caused the problem, "Got it. The dress, I mean. Hope I didn't hit your feet."

"No worries-" He waited til he figured she'd leaned back away from him to stand up again with a grunt. His back hurt where he'd hit the ground... that'd leave a bruise later. "Thanks-"

He spotted the light toward the door and carefully made his way to it, touching the door frame with a sigh of relief. "Ah, 'ere we are. Let's do this again sometime... only without th'pain, hmm?"

    "G'night Grete."

Grete nodded and slowly stood up.

"Definately. Next time we get together, I'll even clean up my trailer," Grete laughed, "Good night to you, too. Sweet dreams."

She threw the dress that she had picked up aside, and moved toward the door to lock it behind Charlot. She figured that as soon as she saw him off, she would curl up in bed. And then wake a few hours later with a massive hangover.
