Well... it's probably not something anyone wants to hear... but here it is:
I want to create another RP here in the guild. I'm not exactly sure what I want to do with it... I need a setting that everyone who would be interested in would enjoy as well as a theme....
Honestly, and I may be a dork here, but I'm sure I'm not the only one, I want to set it in NYC, and perhaps use Magic as a theme... Yeah... so that PC's would be spellcasters of every sort that you would like, of course ala no destroying the world or doing anything too cooky that it changes the world itself, but something along that line. If you want to experiment with alchemy and turn yourself into a werewolf or something I guess that's okay... but that's the general idea for now... any takers? Good idea/Bad idea?

I like the idea Amano-san. 3nodding If I might make a suggestion, I'd say come up with some sort of plot, even if it's really vague before you make the rp. That way it will have a direction and is less likely to die.
That said, I think the vampire rp we're playing in now is a miracle. Where have you ever seen an rp where you don't have to send a profile, where the creator of the thread has disappeared off the face of the earth work so well and live so long? It's uncanny I tell ya.

Honestly Lyre, I really think that it's because of the fact that we're creative... yeah... so we don't need alot of outside influence yeah...
As far as the plot, I think it would be important for people to be creative that the plot in itself be that magic is flowing through the world... now what are you going to do with it? personally created plot tends to last longer than outside influence if people actually know how to work it.... I mean really... it's almost impossible in my opinion in a message forum to do any RP without individual creativity. There's not really a way for a "guy-in-charge" to direct people... yeah... but I understand what you mean and am willing to listen to any ideas that you might have however.

That's true. There's a sad lack of creativity in a lot of rps I've been seeing lately. Not just here. Everywhere. And the saddest part of that is that the ideas behind the rps are generally good and they have potential to have really good storylines.
I'm also kind of irked about all the rps that are demanding pictures as the discription of how the characters look. Hello people! If you didn't draw the picture you posted for your character's appearance it's art theft I'd like to point out that you exclude a lot of good rpers whose drawing skills are mediocre because they can't draw their own characters with enough skill.
While it's a bit extreme, I can really sympathize with guilds and threads who have applicants submit a sample of the person's rping style before accepting them for role play.

The RP is San and my own brainchild and we've been chatting a bit, What do you think of kind of an underworld of spellcasters in the New York area. Mostly kind of fueding families that want to hinder or even kill each other off a'la mobsters.... The players would probably take on the roles of the lackies of the families.. probably about 6 to start off with and if enough people want to start a family, that would be alright as well. Yes... yes indeed.
What do you think of that for an underlying plot?

sweatdrop Awww Lyre, I'm a horrible drawer, would you really want me to ruin a character with my art? (words tend to be my forte, but me english teacher will say much differently. O.o)
At least if you use someones work, please credit it to them (I will work on that, since I make that kind of boo boo quite a few times)
or~
be even more creative, don't use a picture, and use delicious amounts of descriptive words, to where they can almost smell, taste, and feel your character.

Also~!
Once I am stopped being hounded by murderous teachers and homework, I wanted to start a new rp. Based in ancient Greece, or Troy. I've tried it with a friend and it is very fun (ofcourse I take classical literature as a class). So~ what do you guys think? It might be harder to get in, the speech is quite differnt fromour own as are the "laws", rules of hospitality etc.

We're the exact opposite Mirror! XD I'm so horrible at explaining how my character looks with words and stuff. So much easier for me to whip up a doodle and toss it on the description part LOL
I can give basic ideas as to what a character looks like with words, but for me drawing is so much easier. Depends on the person really ^_^
I wanna taste and feel a character O.o sounds like fun!!

OOoh! Magic and mobsters! Omg! That's good Amano-san! Damn you're creative. Let me know when this thing gets going. I think I have a character that would be perfect for it. wink
No no Mirror-san. What I said was it's too bad that people are requiring pictures because you really have to draw them yourself or get permission from the person who drew the one you want. I'm not a stellar artist either but I write novels so I have no problems with written descriptions. In fact I'd say "Give a written discription and/or a picture of your character" because that would open it up for both talents, drawing and writing.

That sounds very fun to me mirror san. I just finished watching Troy a few days ago so I'm certainly in the mood for it... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *hugs* Yes, that wound be fascinating. Something that anyone with any kind of litereary mind can relate to without doing much thinking... yes indeed... and if you actually do a little extra thinking you can come up with something spectacular in that kind of themed RP... yes indeed... I know I'll play it! *smiles*
