Kaosu roared with a quick laughter. "Oh-ho-ho. Boy, did you ever. We fought some new device that some researchers put together. It was like some giant spider thing. And before that, we had individual spars. I...uh..." Kaosu blushed quickly. "I lost and broke my arm."
After he was done, he stood up on the stump. "A game? Sounds like fun." He licked his lips, ready for whatever was next.

Mai smiled. "Sounds like I missed alot," she replied as she backed up. "Well this game is... well you'll learn the rules as you play," she said as she drew her Sai's and rushed towards Kaosu. Her eyes beaming with enthousiasm. She jumped into the air and swung her Sai's downwards in an X shape at Kaosu.

Kaosu saw the blades coming, unlike most times when he just guessed where they were coming with Mai. He jumped straight upwards in a strategic attempt to gain a better ground advantage.

"AAARgh!" Kaosu yelled as one of Mai's blades sliced into his left calf. He he fell backwards and landed onto his back. He writhed on the ground as blood dripped steadily from the wound. He wiped the blood away and stared at his seemingly red-painted hand. "Damn." He managed to utter before the pain finally set in. It felt almost as bad as his partner's wooden bokken slamming into his right shoulder. He got onto his hands and knees for support for a second before getting up. He stood mostly on his undamaged right leg as he readjusted for the circumstance. "Fine, then." Kaosu loudly whispered. "But this ain't over yet."
Kaosu sloppily ran towards Mai, slowly unlike he'd want to. His head swam as he knew he was losing too much blood. He didn't have any remedies on hand, and knew nothing much of first-aid anyways. So his only option he could think of was to attack. He raised his scimitar-esque zanpaku-to over his head and slammed it downwards where Mai stood.

Mai shuffled her feet causing a kind of dust cloud to appear, she then sheathed her sai's and began a cart wheel to the side hoping to dodge Kaosu's attack. She had already landed an attack. She suspected he was weakened already from before or something.

Mai then held her hand infront of her in a fist. She wanted to try fighting with her fists for once. Kaosu was also injured as well, so it was only fair. Mai kicked off with her feet and dashed forward she threw a punch forward at Kaosu's jaw.

Kaosu growled as he tried to wipe the dirt from his eyes. Dirty tactic. Kaosu thought. When he could finally see without pain, he looked around for Mai. Through the dustcloud she shot, fists ready to fly. Kaosu couldn't think what to do. He just swung his fist back in hopes it would block it with a greater or equal force.

Kaosu sat there for a moment. "Mai, a strange thing happened today during the lesson. I find it fitting to tell you now." He kept the contact with Mai's fist as he continued. "I went against an opponent so far above my level of training I had not a hope in the world to defeat him. When I lost that battle, I cried for the first time since I was five. Now, I don't know about you, but everyone who knows me...I guess you could say respects me as a 'powerhouse'. When I lost that battle, my pride was shattered. I realize it was only training, and I can get plenty better until I become a full-fledged shinigami...but pride is a hard thing to repair."
"Now, I realize you are trying to be merciful by attacking me with your fists. I know what you're thinking. That you'll be easy on me." Kaosu looked up now, right into Mai's eyes. "Don't destroy my pride again with mercy." Kaosu finally pulled his fist back. It was bleeding at the knuckles. "Come at me with your blades. Though I do admire your bare-handed force, do this for me if it's the only thing you'll do for me."
With that, Kaosu ducked low, right under her arms and slashed upwards, from hip to her right shoulder. "Fight me right, or I'll never forgive you." Kaosu then noticed his vision was becoming blurred. No! I must continue! Kaosu thought. Gotta...keep goin'.

Mai stood in her place. She admired his pride, she drew both of her sai's as Kaosu came in with his zampakuto. She attempted to block his attack with her sai's. She moved them forward to meet with Kaosu's attack.
"Your pride is something isn't Kaosu?" she said. "Very well, I won't hold back, don't blame me if you get hurt" she taunted as she pushed him back using her sai's and moved forward to counterattack.

Mai continued to move herself forward, her sai's in each hand. She thrusted them both forward into the gut of Kaosu hoping to hit him while he was still feeling the effects of being overpowered by her push.
"Forgive me Kaosu.." she muttered as she swung forward.

Kaosu laughed as his swipe was blocked. "Yes, it truly is." Then, as the swords came towards him, he actually devoted some energy to making a strategy. He swung his zanpaku-to to the left, hoping to block that swipe, then he aimed his hand towards Mai's wrist, away from the blade. He could only hope to some watchful, omnipotent being that this would work.

The blade cut Kaosu's wrist as he tried to grab Mai's exposed wrist. Damn. He thought. The fates aren't with me. He let go of his zanpaku-to's hilt and collapsed onto the ground. He tried to stay awake, but his vision turned blurrier every second, and then black. He tried to move, but he couldn't. He could only feel his wounds and the impact he just made. Another loss. Kaosu managed to think before it all went black. Another swing. Another miss. However, as he fell, he smiled. He hoped Mai could see his gratitude.

Mai peered over the unmoving body. She sheathed her zampakuto and gave a small smirk. She grabbed some bandages from her bag and began bandaging Kaosu up, she checked his pulse. He was going to okay, nothing serious. She laid him next to a tree and began stretching.
"Nice try, Mister Prideful. Maybe next time you'll get me" she whispered into his ear. She laughed as she began heading to the academy again leaving Kaosu who was bandaged.
((Next is Tsai, then Zaviel, then Kinzo, then all the new people twisted ))
