It was late when Evy had arrived back in her own quarters. Harmony had insisted on visiting her family's quarters first to show Evy her newest find; a small stone that had an imprinted swirl in it. It looked a lot like a wave from the sea, Evy had thought.
But now she was back home.
Immediately she remembered what had happened earlier that day and at the same time she mentally cursed at herself for forgetting something like this.
There, underneath her scrunched up shawl, was the sphere and the thing she was most curious about right now, even with the other tribe member's strange behaviour today.

the mermaid swam away. Lightfoot and Rachel swam through a open door and entered the palace. the room was wierd. the ceiling had chairs and the floor and a fire, which was really wierd! but then in the middle of the fire rachel saw some thing. it was pointed and it looked like if it had broken off something. Rachel gasped," it is the horn!"
Lightfoot looked into the fire. how were they going to get it out, first of all the fire worked under the water and secondly they needed to trade for it when they had nothing to trade. some one tapped Rachel on the back. rachel turned around and saw a very fierce looking mermaid with black ribbons tied around her tail and a necklace made of gold. she was upside down and staring rachel straight in the face. the mermaid asked," what do you think your doing mortal! that is our sacred fire!"
Rachel answered," well in the middle of the fire there is a horn and i need it!"
the mermaid said," you want it! i am the queen of Mizu. i will not let a mortal like you self take the most important thing to me.... I mean to our kingdom!"
Rachel frowned. Lightfoot said," what if we traded for it?"

the queen asked," trade?"
her black lifeless eyes glowed in the light of the fire, she smirked and rachel saw that the queen had very sharp teeth and two fangs like a vampire. Rachel suddenly snapped back to reality," what...trade?"
Lightfoot said," yea, i can trade for it. i have something better than a broken piece of horn. i have a full horn, i will trade it."
Rachel yelled," no! dont trade your horn. you will become mortal or worse die!!"
Lightfoot ignored rachel. the queen,licked her lips in thought. she hissed," we have an accord."
the queen swam up to the unicorn and slashed her rasor sharp nails at the horns base. the horn floated off his head. Lightfoot cringed, he was in a lot of pain but did not want to show it. the horn shone in the queen's claw like hands, she threw it in the fire and the broken horn floated out. it went into rachel's hands. rachel swam up to lightfoot. he was mortal because he was strong enough to escape death. the queen said," if i were you i would get it to the surface quick, before he runs out of breath."
Rachel grabbed Lightfoot. he was very heavy but that did not stop her. she swam and swam with all her might until they reached the surface.

Lightfoot gasped for breath, when out of the water. Lightfoot same to the edge of the lake and got out followed by Rachel. Rachel asked," why did you do that for? you pritty much gave your life for a horn piece!"
Lightfoot turned away and began to walk towards where the queens galde is. rachel yelled," answer me!"
Lightfoot ignored her until they got to the glade and by then rachel was getting very annouyed.

the two guards knew the two and let them straight in. the queen looked up at them. rachel knelt down in front of the Queen and put her hands out. the horn glittered in the star light night. the horn began to glow, it floated out of rachel's hand and conected itself to the Queen's horn. as soon as the conection was complete some ancient texts floated around the horn. rachel did not know what it said, but Lightfoot could read it. he seemed very interested in what it was saying. rachel wispered," Lightfoot what does it say?"
Lightfoot wispered back," it says that the horn of the queen is a symbol of purity and magic everywhere. it belongs not only to the queen but the magic forest as well to unite the power of eternal magic and the future."
the writing disapeared and the queen said calmly," Rachel stand up. i have something to give you, put your hands out."
As rachel stood up she noticed that on the base of the Queens horn was something purple, like amythest. she put her hands out for the queen. the queen tapped rachel hand with her horn. the purple at the base moved up the horn and landed in rachel hand. it was a amythest after all, it was circular and had silver around the edges. Lightfoot neighed, there was a scar on his head from where the horn was cut clear off. a silver light shone from his scar. it shone on the amythist and a silver unicorn head appeared on the amulthest and it turned into a charm. rachel stared at it.

Rachel said excitedly," this is it! i can feel its power. Lightfoot look at this."
she turned to where Lightfoot was standing before but he was not there. she looked around for her friend but he was no where to be seen. the Queen rubbed her soft white muzzle against rachel's cheek," he is gone. he gave his soul to the charm. he was no ordinary unicorn. did he tell you that?"
Rachel began to cry softly, why is there so much death in the relms. The Queen said," I will tell you his story so he is not forgotten."
Rachel wipped her tears away with her white sleeve and sat down in the grass. the Queen said," it all started 14 years ago. Lightfoot was one of my guardians. the guardians are selected every 100 years. they are the protectors of our relm and the source of power to the unicorns. he helped me force the demonds out of our relm when he was only 4. he was the chosen one to give his life for the girl that is a unicorn but does not know it. so when the charm was created from my amythest and your magci flowed through it, he gave up his soul so that the demonds could never gain its power. if he had not given his soul to you anouther creature, like a demon could have taken its power and killed us all. rachel to ensure its saftey pull out two of my mane hairs."
Rachel pulled out two hairs just as she was asked then the queen added," thread them through the loop of the charm."
rachel pushed the two hairs through the charm's loop. they began to glow then formed a white chain. Rachel put the necklace around her neck and cliped it together. she pushed the charm to the front. it shone in the nightlight.

rachel just remembered," i have to go now yur magesty."
Rachel stood up and curtsied. she ran off out of the glade but as she went, she felt strange. she felt more powerful and full of wisdom. as she ran on she tripped on a stone and landed next to a puddle. she looked into the puddle and relised she did not just feel different she was different. she was a pure white unicorn. rachel screamed in shock. she had hooves instead of hands and feet, a mane and tail plus her horn was much longer. Rachel got up and ran on her four hooves. it was very dificult to run, no wonder she had fallen over. soon she got used to four legs and was going faster than she had ever gone before. she ran out of the porthole and came out into the Magic Forest. this was one day she would not forget. she turned around to look at the two twisted trees. this was something she must write about in one of the free books in the labrary, that was if she changed back.

Evy carefully unfolded the shawl. There was the mysterious amethyst sphere. Evy couldn't help but tossed it back and forth in her hands. She suddenly remembered the remaining 3 scrolls she would deliver. She picked one of them up and read the name: Colonel Shellig
It seemed important for all the scrolls to be delivered, Evy decided. "Well, that's that. I will deliver as many as I can tomorrow." she thought. She carefully placed her shawl with the sphere inside on her dressing table and dimmed the lights before crawling into bed.

Rachel galloped toward the cave. but this time it felt dangerous and unwelcoming in the moonlight. rachel did not know the way home and this cave lead the way to the river which lead to the lake. Rachel stepped in. something was in there, she could feel it. she sniffed the air. the air smelt like dead animals. it disgusted her. she ran out of the cave gasping for air. she turned back around and saw two red glowing eyes. they stared down in her in hunger. Rachel was terified, its stare petrified her. she turned to run but the creature got infront of her. it was a Chimera! the worst enemy of a unicorn is a lion and Chimera had one head of a lion, one head of a goat and the tail that is a snake. its fangs dripped with green poison, the snake reared and tried to stike at Rachel. Rachel jumped out of the way. how was she going to beat this thing! it was three times her size and could breath fire!!!!!!

Evy slowly opened her eyes and looked around. She had fallen asleep quickly and hadn't really thought about much last night. She remembered that she was determined to deliver all the scrolls, and that was what she was going to do. She walked over to her dresser and slowly brushed all the tangles out of her hair. She put a pair of loose cargo pants on and a light blue shirt on. She opened one of the draws and pulled out a red ribbon so she could tie her hair into a plait.
She was about to leave when she looked back at her table. She had an idea. She quickly went and slipped on a white jacket and put the scroll for Colonel Shellig in her left pocket and the sphere into her right one. Now she was ready.
She hurried out the door to the breakfast hall in hopes of meeting the Coloneol during breakfast.

the sun was rising over the land. it made the sky go pink, purple and blue. it was beautiful but rachel had no time to admire the sunrise, there were bigger things to deal with. the goat head of the Chimera tried to ram into Rachel with its curled horns. it missed but the lion head opened its mouth wide and bit rachel in the leg. she cried out in pain. then just as the lion was about to beak her leg in half her horn started to glow. at the base of her horn the amythest charm was swirling with different colours. then the swirling colours flooded over the horn like a wave coming to shore, as it reached to point a large fire ball formed and shot at the lion's eyes. it hit him square in the eyes, he let go of rachel. the swirling in the horn was rainbow now. rachel colapsed slightly, her leg was bleeding alot. the rainbow colours went allover her body. as it hit the leg it healed and on rachel's back two lovely wings appeared. Rachel looked at them, they were white and looked like angel wings. she flapped them slightly and she hovered off the ground. the chimera rubbed its eyes with its large paw. the snake on the tail hissed and opened its mouth. it was not like it was going to bite her but just as she was about to fly higher the snake breathed fire at her. rachel stuck her horn out at the fire breath and water shot at the water and put out the fire.

Rachel flew as high as she could quickly. she had to get rid of the Chimera somehow. she looked around and saw the lake. Rachel looked down at the chimera," nah, nah you cant catch me you over grown stuffed toy!"
Rachel flew towards the lake making sure the Chimera followed her. it jumped trying to swip her but it missed. rachel ducked and weaved around its three heads. it got very angry! Rachel shot forward to make the Chimera run faster. it was so blinded in rage that it did not notice the lake. SPLOOSH!!!!!!!! the chimera was drowning in the lake, steam came from its snake head. it gripped onto the edge of the lake and ran off into the horizon. it left the magic forest. Rachel yelled after it," and dont come back or you will get more where that came from!"
the lake she was hovering over had a river flowing from it. if rachel followed the river maybe it ould take her back to the castle. the river was a meander, it twisted and turned like a snake left out on a flat rock. she followed it until she reached the water fall. rachel was exaughsted. she carefully landed on the grassy ground next to the river. she bent over and drank the water. then she went over to the water fall, somehow she knew there was a small cave behind it. she went into the cave and lay down, she fell straight to sleep.

It had been a busy day. Evy had delivered the Coloneol his letter, and he had acted strange too; telling Evy to always be brave. She returned to her room and picked another letter up and delivered them to Mr. Salow, a council member. He had told her to be careful in the days ahead and Evy, was getting quite fed up with the strange behaviour demanded to know what the letter was about.
Mr. Salow smiled and said something that sounded quite complicated which had left Evy just plain confused. She'd find out another way, she decided.

After luch, Evy arrived back in her quarters. She sighed out loud, only one scroll left! She picked it up and searched for a name. "Oh no!" she gasped. What to do, what to do? Do i go find the tribe leader again? Oh no, i cant possibly face him after what happened... She carefully unrolled the letter, looking for a "dear somebody.." but instead, she found six words, written neatly in a line. She flipped the letter over and then flipped it back again. "N...wha?...is.goin.....on?" The words shook her like an earth quake.
"Evylen, it's time to leave us"

(In Character now...)
Running..running. I can hear my footsteps thudding loudly against the floor, scattering dust...but i don't care. I dont understand what's going on. Like magic, my feet find their way to the tribe leader's office easily.
Without any hesitation, or thought of knocking, i burst in to see Damien sitting at his desk, not suprised or shocked in the slightest. He'd been expecting me. I didn't wait for him to speak, "what's the meaning of...this?" I pant as i show him the scroll.
he simply smiles and gestures for me to follow him further into the office. I'd never been further then the first room, which is the main office. Soon we are travelling down a dark hallway and i want to yell at him and ask him the meaning of all this, but something is telling me not to.
Suddenly, we stop and we are in front of a large door. Damien turns around and asks, "Evy, do you have your orb with you?" he asks as calmly as if he is checking to see if i remembered my house keys. "m..my orb?" i ask. when was it mine?
"yes Evy. I gave it back to you."
"back?"
"let's not worry about small details now."
he takes my hand and places it on the door. It begins to glow and i feel a tugging in my pocket. slowly, the amethyst sphere floats out and glides into a small hole into the door. it's a perfect fit. "i don't believe it.." i can't help but whisper. i know Damien is smiling right now at some unknown joke. i can feel myself getting angry, and then the glowing stopped and the sphere rolled back out of the hole.
I jumped forward to catch the sphere before it smashed...again.
