MysticMayhem As for JC, I know he's a main character, and most people love him, but I personally think he's a boring, flat, colorless character. Basically, he's just been used as a scapegoat for Antia's explicit behavior, and needs to move on. I'd like to see more of Edward, and less of JC. I am a Richard fan, but prefer him to be written off. Give him a wife and kids and let him go on his way, Anita only drags him down, and Laurel is determined to make him into the bad guy at every which turn. No matter how bad he's become in the past two books, I just don't buy it. Richard was the one betrayed by Antia, and making him into a bad guy isn't going to make me forget that. I used to not really like Jean Claude. It was like fine, he;s a vampire whatever time to move on. Reading ID I can understand where the attraction comes from but he's still not top of the list. I don't think Richard is cut out for the wife and kids thing. I think he'd just be lying to himself trying to lead that kind of a life. I don't think he's cut out for Anita's life either.. poor guy is somewhere in between. In ID I've started to feel sorry for him. I still think he's a coward, but more for not being able to accept himself than anything else. I know it has to be hard for the kind of person he was before the change to accept, but it's been a while and he's not just another lycanthrope but Ulfric. He has to start facing reality.

I think what Anita needs is like someone that's a cobonation of both Richarad and Jean-Claude... Richard is just too much of a boy scout and too sincitive... and Jean-Claude is...i don't know...
you need A richard with Jean-Claudes understang of servival...

I just have a problem with Nat. He's cute and funny but he gets annoying. I just get bored with the long hair, vanilla smell...yadda yadda yadda. I just feel like Anita already has too many problems on her plate so why add in more??? I personally think Nat is just a humanized housecat. stare

Have you read ID yet? Nathaniel gets way more interesting in ID. I never liked him before ID, I just don't go for the submissive type, but ID opened my eyes to his potential.

I can truly see the similarities. That and when I think of Nethaniel all sorts of petting comes to mind xp

I hate what LKH has done to Richard. Pre-emotional breakdown Richard was cool. He was one of my all time favorite characters but now... well I mourn his loss and loath Michah for takin his place, who is a suckie substitute.

right now I'm 85% of the way through with ID I'd have to say it's richard, he's annoying with his whiny "I hate myself and everyone within 50 feet of me" attitude.

In fact, if Richard keeps going on his self destructive path and all his other qualities are lost he'll turn into Micah, just with wolfie eyes. I'd really hate that too since Micah annoys me sooo much. I don't see it happening now though. I agree with Narnia: After reading through Incubus Dreams I have good feelings about Richard.

I have even worse feelings about Micah after ID though. He just rubs me the wrong way!!! Everything he does just pisses me off.

Hating Micah must be a female thing. The gf doesn't like him but I don't mind him that much. I just think that women are hard to please... If you do everything that they don't want you to do they hate your guts, and if you do everything that they want you to do they still hate you guts. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. We're screwed from the get go.

We're screwed from the get go. I probably shouldn't say it but for the most part its true xp I used to think the big problem with Micah doing everything expected of him was that it was all because he was hiding something terrible and felt he should make up for it.. now I think its that it makes him seem less manly somehow in my eyes. Like he's easily kicked around (mind you I still think he's hiding something awful). I like my guys with a little fight in them.

I don't know how I feel about whether we are hard to please or not. But I do think my dislike of Micah is that he is "too perfect" which definitely makes me not trust him. And the fact that Anita never trusts anyone, but she fell hopelessly into his arms just makes me grind my teeth.

Narniakat And the fact that Anita never trusts anyone, but she fell hopelessly into his arms just makes me grind my teeth. But she doesn't completely trust him. She's made several thought remarks, plus a few spoken ones, that she's waiting for the other shoe to drop... Of course, it's usually followed by her thinking that that isn't fair. I think, there are two people that border on absolute trust with Anita. Jason and Nathaniel.
