Unfortunately, Kain was on the complete defensive and would NOT be taken as fool. She tried to take over his body, she could try but he would not be so easy...
The moment that the tail stregthened he was set to execute his plan. It may have not been her intention to harm him, an offer of power. Well...that just said he was a lesser than her and this was an example of having power OVER him...not him...
He has to adjust slightly, to accomodate the both of them but it wouldn't matter... she could thrash all she liked, after this she was his...unless she wanted the rest of forever to herself...
"You'd do well to---"
And his maths were in effect. That lovely little Sanctuary that Kain inwardly prided himself on was only part and parcel of the place they would be going. In order to use the specific sort of "teleportation" Kain uses, one first has to go into a place of absolute void...the place of nothing and everything. If one didn't have the proper "know how" about riding-the-wave of the in-between, of demension travelling, you could be lost forever...
The link was there, she held him and he her blade...the effect of his complete equation was in a blink of an eye, a meta-physcial grid he placed on them both, outwardly in to fit just right for their travels.
"---not talk down to me. Hold tight or else you'll be lost to this nothingness forever. Here YOU need me!"
Unless...she wanted to step through one of the many 'doors' here...that would be just fine as long as she didn't mind being sent beyond the stars, the beginning of Gaia, or even into another realm of existence...

Ra'kar was sort of anticipating something like this. In a split second she had to make a decision, stop all this here and now? Or go along for the ride. What the hell, the more she learned about this one the better. Even if he was a pain in the a**, she kinda' liked that. She had no time for push overs and weakinlings who snivelled and clutched at the hem of her skirts.
So she simply stood there, tail still locked around his neck and looked around once he'd finished transporting them. Quirking a brow and smiling somewhat impressed she stares at him.
"Here?"
Her tone was even, calm, collected but something dark lurked behind it's tone. Something that was intrigued and taking note of everything.

They 'floated' there as best things 'real' in an 'unreal' could. Kain guided them along an invisible path, made another door for them to transport them to his Sanctuary...
This time around the walls were lined with rich polished wood. the floors matching with the extravagent decadence. A new, old, rug lay at the 'entrance' of the place, excellent for entertaining 'guests'.
The desk across from the entrance was now lined against the far right wall, adjacent to the fireplace (it remained in it's former place). Two large lounging velvet sofas surround the hearth. In fair distance to feel the heat comfortably...
"Yes, here. Here is my Home, Ra'Kar. Out of respect FOR my home, would you be so kind as to let the master of the house gather some refresments so that we may discuss what all THAT was about?---be reminded, I die, this place and everything in it would implode from not having it's structure tended to."
His muscles laxed a bit, she could go ahead and kill this body, it wasn't difficult to find another one...

"Now why would I kill you Kain? That was never my intent to begin with."
She mused as she looked around, her tail releasing him. Something popped into her mind, a movie that some of the DSBG 'Feathers' had been watching a while back. While Ra'kar didn't particularily care for technology, the thing they called 'movies' could be entertaining. The phrase that came into her head was muttered bemusedly under her breath.
"I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore..." xd

Kain turned from Ra'Kar, still stern faced and serious. He started for the spiral staircase and called back...
"Go ahead and get comfortable....I wouldn't recommend checking out the 'backyard' "
He plopped down the steps...realised his hand still dripped from the lovely slice...
"...wonderful..."
A slight swagger in his step, he was well familiar with the area down here, he approched his 'wine' rack. It held VARIOUS bottles of beverages...right now...--
"Scotch..."
Kain grabbed a bottle that had been well aged from centuries ahead and then brought back here to the 'past'. But his Home didn't follow the any standards of 'time'...essentially because it didn't exist, as didn't air...but here Kain simulated it for some effect and to give him SOME sense of normality, that also went with gravity...
He hopped on back to the steps, his efforts lessened and more of a bounce could be seen...

Ra'kar decided that the fireplace looked quite nice and curled up like the feline she so often resembled in nature. The velvet sofa felt smooth against her bared skin, after all, she was still dressed in ribbons. The lesser demons had done quite a number on it. The flames flickered as she watched, casting shadows across the contours of her body. Her pupils had returned somewhat to normal, they were still slits as opossed to full orbs.
She seemed so non chalant about the entire thing, as if things like this happened every day. She was a creature who enjoyed heat, so until the devil returned, she simply basked in the fire's glow.

The large 40 ounced bottled was duty from being untouched for centuries. He skipped back into the main foyer and had expected to see the fire Demoness over by it.
He placed the bottle on the desk and went back to the stairs,
"Pardon me, I need to change out of these tatters"

She grins and shrugs mildly. Her temper had fallen into a lull as she got a feel for this strange place, she found herself oddly placid, even mildly complacent. In other words, she just didn't give a ******** at the moment. Kain could come downstairs wearing a sundress and she probably wouldn't care. Her sword had long since returned to her being. Leaning back and closing her eyes, she was content to doze for the moment.

Kain tore off the soiled clothing and let the slowing blood from his injured hand soak up while it healed.
Once he reached the top of the staircase he tossed the shirt into the smoldering fireplace, where, once it settled onto the embers, was consumed in a flash of fire and turned to ash.
Kain rummaged through his drawers again and collected his normal attire. Form fitting vest with slitted tales that ran along and down the backs of his legs, almost like a cape. A shimmering red silken shirt, rolled up sleeves and matching pants. A pair of shin length black leather boots and a ruff for pizzaz.
He then went to the large oaken desk at the opposite end of the room from the majestic bed. He searched the top right drawer and resupplied himself with a new pack of cigarettes, taking on from the packaged he put it to his lips and lit'er up. The sweet taste was exulting for his taste buds and euphroric for his lungs. Every once in a while his tobacco got him and tonight was just a night when he needed it.
He slipped the pack into the left breast pocket and returned downstairs to find Ra'Kar comfortably lounging on the sofa by the hearth. He seated himself on the couch, left of the hearth, poured himself a double,
"So, what was all that about, you pointing your blade at me, entangling my neck with your tail, and then insulting me with condescension? All that was truly unnecessary."

Ra'kar was cat-napping when Kain returned. As he spoke, she opened one eye lazily and took in his refreshed appearance. She found their contrasting appearances amusing. He looked refined, while she currently looked like the victim of a brutal rape. And here they were chatting acros from one another as if it were normal, and maybe it was.
"Hmmm...?"
She opens both eyes and her eerie golden gaze locks with his.
"You took all that rather seriously Kain. I'm not so stupid as to threaten someone so carelessly if I intended to kill them... if I had meant you harm, I'd of merely hurt you or just killed you and had it over with."
She sits up and leans forward slightly, her feet tucked under her.
"It was my manner of subtly telling you that if you double crossed me for any reason, nothing would save you. I don't simply mean leaving my services either... I mean turning against me, or aiding those whom I would call enemy. Not condenscending... just matter of fact."

Kain winced at her final comment, she was edging his temper, testing him and he knew it.
"Ra'Kar" he said simply.
"Making friends isn't exactly your forte', is it? Provoking and demoralising one's esteem doesn't generally create trust between two people. Enemies are made from your actions. "
"Now, I will make you a deal of contract. I will remain in your service, as long as you continue to pay, my contract cannot be terminated in the midst of a specific mission---in war like situation or campaign, that will have to be discussed further on, but should I care to cancel inbetween skirmishes, I will, but not without proper notification to you or Sierra."
"Thusly, the end of my agreement...I will not aid an adversary of your's or Sierra's for a minimum of six months after I have terminated the contract. In that time I'm sure you can rustle up someone else."
He inhaled from the cigarette in his left hand and while he exhaled, continued,
"The more you pay the longer I'll stay, m'dear. Although, I will put a limitation, you pay per month and that's all, no purchasing of my services for more than one month at a time. I put my reputation and my honour, to never cheat, double cross or otherwise betray you or Sierra. It is a fair deal, Demoness."

"Friends eh?-- s'not really a word for people like you and I Kain."
She pondered a moment. Friends, it was the last word she'f expected the devil to use.
"Allies, consorts, co-conspirators, lovers, commrades, partners... all of these for the people I keep close to, if you can call it close... but never a friend. It isn't in my nature to genuinely enjoy the company of another for anything other than physical intamacy, nor is it in my nature to trust a sole being that much."
Sierra wasn't even really a friend, more like a sister, a twin... but if they met face to face as individuals, the likelyhood of them getting along or working together let alone forming a friendship wasn't very probable.
"I suppose... if I were to try such a thing though, no. I wouldn't be very good at it."
Grinning she gets to her feet and pours herself a drink, listening to his proposition. She strides over to where he sits and raises her glass to his.
"A most satisfactory contract, it is a deal."

He watched the Demoness saunter towards him and offered her glass, he reciprocated by clinking his to hers.
"A deal then, comrade"
He grinned and then laughed to himself, realising what he had said before,
"Arg, I've been spending too much time with humans. To them everything is a friend."
Well, perhaps once they were finished their drinks he would take them back so that they could get to where they were going.
"Hmm...well, I say we finish these drinks and then get going. But...would you care for a coat?"

"Alright then"
Kain mirrored Ra'Kar and gulped the rest of his drink down. He set the glass aside and return to his Boudoir. He found an old, plain black "Trench" coat that he had found from further on in the future where a war was going on...those humans had no idea what the word "Tactics" or "Brains" meant. He once heard an officer, he supposed, yell 'over the top' and the braindead morons charged right into 'machinegun' fire...in any case it was clean, warm and long.
He came back downstairs and offered the thing to Ra'Kar. Setting up a pathway through the void was no problem, he had done it hundreds of times before, it was mere instinct now he could take them away at anytime now.
