Pippin whined. "That's not fair!!" He growled a little, watching Red XIII reach the tree and turning back, running towards the water. Instead of going all the way to the tree, Pippin turned and followed behind. No. A head start wasn't good enough for the little cheater. If he wasn't going to win fair a square, he was going to do it any way he could.
Vara couldn't help but let a smile etch it's way across out face as she watched Nanaki play with Pippin. She sighed and closed her eyes, as her smile faded once more. She wondered if she would have been in the same situation switched around if Thelx had told her of his feelings from the start. A soft whine escaped as she thought about it. She couldn't help but blame herself for not even noticing and not ever being around to notice. Groaning, she covered her eyes with an arm. 'Man, I am so dumb. Poor Thelx. I don't blame him if he never wants to be my friend again, let alone my best friend.' She opened and uncovered an eye to see Pippin still trailing along her firey boyfriend. 'Heh, he'll never catch up.'

Turning his head quickly to take a quick glance at Pippin, he grinned broadly as he dived into the water, and starting swimming along their race path. Though he wasn't as fast as he was on land, than he was on water, he still wasn't too bad.
Being so absorbed in his play with Pippin, he still didn't notice that Vara had returned, or Thelx had left. Perhaps it was for the better, to leave the seraphim alone for a moment so she could think things out.
"You better know how to swim really well, if you wanna beat me..." Red XIII called towards the kit, a grin appearing on his maw.

Pippin didn't like this anymore, but he kept going. He jumped, and belly flopped into the water. He landed into the water with a loud smack! "Oof!!" He doggy paddled as quickly as he could, but he was getting further and further behind, so he turned back around and got out of the water. He shook the water out of his fur and darted over to the tree, then sat down, all huffy.
The seraph stretched her legs out and yawned. Wow, a nice leasurly walk through the woods with her new "little brother" turned into a day of drama. And not the nice drama that people watch on TV or in the movies either. Things were always easier on TV...unfortunately for her. She looked up in time to see Pippin, huffing angrily by the "finish line". She sighed and shook her head. 'He gave up.' It wasn't long before she was lost in thought again. She was starting to think that Thelx would come to terms with her relationship. It was just that it was a lot to take in all at once. It was a shock to his fragile system. As well as his news being a shock to her. With a sharp exhale, she convinced herself that Thelx just needed time to soak everything in.

Ears pricked, Red XIII turned when he heard the sound of Pippin's paddling cease. Sighing, he too climbed out, shaking himself off before padding towards the tree, sitting down in front of the kit. "Gave up?" He asked with a tiny smile.
"You'll probably get faster at swimming soon though. When I was kit, I hated the water. I assumed that it'd put this flame out..." As he spoke, his fire-tipped tail flickered in front of the two. "Oddly enough, it isn't put out by water...or anything, really."
Finally, at the sound of the yawn, he turned his head abuptly, catching sight of the Seraphim. "Aah. Vara..." He trailed off, now seemed a bit more uncomfortable.
"How did it go?" After another moment's pause, he glanced around. "Where's Thelxiope?"

Pippin grunted as a responce. "I don't hate the water...I am just not that good at swimming." He then glanced around the adult's body at his tail. "That's weird. Is it hot?" He swatted at it, as Red XIII's attention was taken away from him.
Vara heaved herself up and padded over to the other two, silently. She sat down then finally opened her mouth. "Um...I won't know how it went until Thelxy has time to think. And he's not here. He's gone off to do just that: think." She looked down. "He didn't seem very happy though. I can't blame him at all." And infact she doesn't.

For Pippin, the flame may have just felt...odd. Warm, but also with an odd tingly feeling accompanying it. Not painful, no, but still extremely weird.
"I...I see..." He offered her a weak smile. "Honestly I...I can't blame him either. If I were in his position..." He trailed off, and shook his head. During this whole time, while playing with Pippin, it had all been an attempt to forget what was happening. Obviously, his denial wouldn't last for long.
"Perhaps it really is my fault..." He muttered, after a moment. If it weren't for him, Vara and Thelx wouldn't be in this position, would they?
'But it's not my fault I love her...' His mind argued in reply.
'Perhaps, but even so, Vara would be so...unhappy right now if I weren't a part of this...' He argued back.

Pippin waved his paw over Red XIII's tail and giggled. It didn't hurt, but it did feel sort of weird. Giggling rather hysterically, he poked his paw at the male's tail then pulled it back. Then he leaped and cupped his paws around the fire, to see if it would extinguish, but it didn't.
Vara flattened her ears against her head and shook her head. "No. It's definately not your fault, Nanaki." She played with the grass subconciously. "I should have paid more attention to my friend's feelings, but I didn't." She looked down at the ground shamefully. "I'm really sorry Nanaki." She whimpered and curled up the ground, feeling very frustrated as to what to do.

Since his attention was turned elsewhere, the male didn't seem to mind, or notice, that Pippin was playing with his tail, thus, he didn't say anything about it. Let the kit amuse himself, for a little while, yes?
"It's not your fault either then..." He murmured in reply, shaking his head. "And...don't apologize to me. Both Thelxiope and I will probably be able to live with your choice...whatever it may be." Offering her a weak smile, he turned away from her for a moment, the smile fading immediately into a tiny frown. He didn't know what to do. For once, Red XIII was speechless, and confused.

Pippin noticed Vara's whimpering and ignored Red XIII's tail. "Vara?" He rubbed his head against her side, purring, trying to comfort his "big sister". "Don't be so sad Vara. Neither Red XIII nore Thelxiope will hate you for your decisions." He rested his fore paws on Vara stomach. "And plus, you always have me." He gave her a goofy grin that did get a chuckle out of her.
Vara couldn't help but giggle at the little hobbit. She sat up and gave the side of his face a huge lick, knowing how much he hates that, then flopped back on the ground, grinning evilly at the glaring kit. She had to admit he was good at lifting spirits. "Hey Nanaki?" Her tail thwaped against Pippin's side as he curled up protectivly against Vara. "What makes you love me so much?" Vara mentally laughed at herself for wording that question in such an odd way. "I mean, why do you love me?" He had never openly admitted to loving the seraph, but she wasn't that slow.

For some reason, even Red XIII gave a small smile, and laugh at Pippin's actions. Something told him that if he went back looking the same way, Alimet, Reina, and perhaps even Garland would all crowd around him in a similar way.
"A-ah?" He blinked suddenly as the question was asked. For a moment, it lingered, unanswered, in the air. Finally, he glanced from Vara, to the ground, ears flat and face red (Redder than usual, I mean).
"You were...probably honestly the only one I felt comfortable with, and who could accept me..." He paused, and shifted awkwardly. "Plus, you're overall just an extremely caring Feli, and it was basically impossible not to grow fond of you. You were just...always there, keeping me company when I was having those days where I'd remember a little bit about my past, and where I came from." He shrugged.
"You're...just a really nice Feli, and I guess I grew fond of you extremely quickly to the point where I fell in l-" He trailed off. Nothing else needed to be said though, as it was obvious what he had been about to say.

Pippin purred and rested his head on Vara's stomach and looked at Red XIII's direction after Vara questioned him. Tis should be interesting. Pippin may not have known him for too long, but he knew he wasn't the "emotional" type. Pippin laughed silently at the thought of tough Red XIII being all lovey dovey.
Vara, meanwhile, rested on her side, looking away from Nanaki, into the distance, awaiting her answer. "...always there..." She flintched a little when he spoke those words. 'I was never there for Thelx, yet he loved me anyway?' She couldn't help wonder why. "Mmm. But there are plenty of 'nice feli' out there. Some, I'm sure would accept you and your past."
What are you doing stupid? Her brain argued with her mouth.
Maybe. Maybe she could talk one of the males out of loving her, then she wouldn't have to hurt anyone.

"It's hard to explain why. No one really can explain why. When you love someone, no matter where they are, no matter who else there may be in the world, even if they may be kinder, it'll always be that same Feli you'll love..." He shrugged. It was hard for him to speak out like this...as Pippin obviously sensed, 'mushy' wasn't his thing. He was usually hard, never really having to worry about things like this but...
That had obviously changed. For a moment, he looked away, turning his whole body quietly.
"Vara...I do love you, and like Thelx, I probably always will, but if you don't feel the same for me, then there isn't much I can do, is there? I don't want you to be hurt..."

Vara sighed softly. She should have known it'd be a hard question to answer. She sure wouldn't be able to express it in simple words. Vara looked up to see Nanaki's back to her. "I didn't mean to give you the wrong idea, I just..." She thought. Her brain sent a sort of I told you so message to her mouth. "Eh, I was being stupid..." She mumbled an "as usual" to herself.
Pippin's ears drooped a little. He scamped over to Red XIII and tapped his leg, whispering to him. "Maybe it's you and Thelx who should talk? It doesn't look like Vara can do this alone."

"Not your fault..." He muttered in response. Then, turning his attention to Pippin, the male sighed softly. "I...I guess. It'll be odd to face him, but I guess that's all we can do right now, hm?" Rising, he glanced towards a sparkling trail that just seemed to catch him eye.
"I'll be back." He nodded to the two. Offering Vara a weak smile, he then looked at Pippin, and nodded, his eyes silently telling him to tell Vara where he was going. He felt that if he opened his mouth, he's probably start spilling out stuff like a lovesick idiot.
Turning, ears pricked, he started towards the trail, following it with so much concentration, that he hardly noticed when it ended, and hardly saw the figure whom the sparkles belonged to.
"Thelxiope, wait."

[Hold yer horses. xD]
In all honesty, the feli was had been having issues walking since this troubling event had started, his mind weighed much heavier than his feet usually were used to, and had given up walking a long time ago, standing in the deep forest staring at the red and brown leaves that had fallen so far from the place they only called him a month prior, now long dead before his paws, which seemed very poetic in his mind. Lame.
But upon hearing the voice of the firepelt, he froze and tensed up, as if waiting for some heaven or hell battle for the heart of the one that he cherished the most [ in which he couldn't win, and hell if he knew this, he was a dragqueen. Lithe and.. sadly very girly.] But when no other words came, he furrowed his brow in curiousity, and thus then turned his head to peer at the other with his silverine gaze, deep into the yellow orb that stared at him, deep in to the other soul.
"Aye?"
