Sayuri bowed to Zach as Emerwyn introduced her to him. 'I am pleased to meet friend of Emerwyn.' She smiled at Emerwyn. 'Your costume is pretty. Is it tricky to walk in?' she could sympathise if it was. Learning to walk in full Maiko regalia had been a long leson to learn. She looked around after speaking, spotting Oz and gave him a little wave, wondering if he would come over.

Richard watched the woman scamper off. Nodding as she did so. That little disaster headed off at the pass he looked around and saw Emerwyn sitting next to what appeared to be a man turing into a dragon. Could that be Zachery? Dragon seemed to be fitting with Sabin's appearent love of myth. He also spotted Tommy sulking the corner. Although he did want to talk to her again, she seemed to be involved already. He tried to catch Tommy's eye as he sat at an unoccupied table right next to Emerwyn, Zach and Sayuri's, Smiling at her if she looked up.

Oz slowed down a little, watching as Sayuri approached the deer-lady, obviously a friend. He didn't really want to intrude too much, since he had to make good impressions today. He'd be spending months with these people and he couldn't do with any sour grapes.
But Sayuri beckoned him over and a confident smile spread on his face. He lightly jogged over, passing Caitlin as she left the party in a hurry. Oz watched her leave, that beaming smile disappearing for a brief moment. It wasn't really any of his concern, but he was entitled to his curiosity. Regardless, he shuffled in next to Sayuri and gave her a warm smile and gentle nudge with his furry arm. He'd just about managed to catch a few names and gave each them a friendly smile too.

"Well, nice to meet you, Sayuri." He almost felt lecherous looking at Sayuri, much like he felt around Colche when she pranced around naked. A little... distracting. Besides, he already had a girlfriend. Sort of. His eyes wandered down a little, enough to see a scaly blue fish tail sticking out of her rear, before he turned his gaze fully over to Emerwyn and her much less open appearance. A big guy in a gorilla suit had taken the fish-girl's attention for the time being. It seemed like their little gathering was already drawing a crowd of watching eyes.
"So, what did you come as?" he asked Emerwyn, trying to start the conversation. The alcohol hadn't kicked in at all yet. It would take more than the meager amount he'd had so far. His tail wandered back and forth a little across the crackling black tarp floor.

The gentle nudge from Oz was enough to turn Sayuri around - although it had felt less gentle to her small frame. She flicked her tail as she looked up at Oz's face and smiled at him. 'Hello again. Did you have some food?' she eyed the furred suit. 'Is that warm. It looks it.' she lowered her eyes, feeling a little embarrassed for asking silly questions but she wasnt feeling in the same frame of mind as she did when entertaining in her kimono!

Pyroth had been looking around the tables, actually popping up now and again at the meat table to help himself to some eats and then proceeding to munch on them underneath the table itself, out of sight of the others.
When he was sure he'd had enough to eat he sauntered over to where the drinks where being kept and pointedly sat down, waiting for someone to come over so he could get them to pour him a drink and put it on the floor for him.
It was undignified but he was used to it.

Emerwyn's costume was indeed rather obscure. Folds of green, blue and gold robes fell about her. Her arms were mostly exposed, but for the bands of golden leaves entwing upward. A crown of leaves capped her head. A moon symbol clasped a green cloak about her collar. Almost everything had a neat Celtic accent. The unmistakable knots twisting all about.
"... A Celtic Priestess. Adovcate and Speaker of Nature." And, underneath... She cursed herself for not being more particular. "I like yours - a demon of some sort?"

He realised, a little late, that his 'nudges' might be a little too boisterous for someone as dainty as Sayuri, and apologised profusely.
"Oh sorry, I forget myself sometimes," he blushed and rubbed the back of his neck idly. He then looked down at his furry suit, which had dried off from the bobbing apples game earlier, and patted his hidden belly.
"Yeah, I think I ate too many cakes though, I'll get fat...well, fatter," he laughed. He wasn't exactly ashamed of his body but he dwelled a lot on how he used to look.
"And yes, it is quite warm. If you feel cold in your outfit at all, feel free to just jump into mine," he smiled coyly at Sayuri, his eyes wandering over her visable flesh once more.

For a long time, Jamal sat and watched.
He had been drawn by the faint music and the smell of food much earlier in the day, but hadn't be sure if it was safe to even step foot into the open. He knew the guards were on the alert, but he was surprised that he hadn't seen a single person in Feral Labs uniform tromp through the party grounds. That was comforting, but only slightly.
The long period of sitting in the casted shadows of the jungle set his right leg into painful spasms and he allowed himself the liberty to stand, sending the ragged edges of his stolen bedsheets to brush against the fine fur on his legs. Even that slight feeling made his leg twinge. However, the tiger had more pressing issues than a sleeping limb.
Jamal hadn't eaten in a long time; he hardly called scavenging the faint bits of flesh off long dead carcasses to be eating. No, that was just surviving. The tiger man needed meat. Fresh meat. He'd best take his chances...take what he could...and escape if he had to. Hopefully this costume would work. Slowly, Jamal drifted towards the group, keeping off to the side and as inconspicous as possible. He was just a dirty bedsheet ghost...nothing to see here!
As he scanned the gathering space, he saw no one at all familiar to him. He wondered where Antony was as well as Billy. Maybe they'd show later?

'I think you look handsome,' Sayuri said in her most flattering tones. Honestly he looked coarse and hulking to her eyes but she knew always never to tell the truth. There was something about his size. It did make her feel - safe? He seemed nice enough, and it was odd to think that about someone she had just met but she needed some sort of anchor around here. She coloured, her cheeks and neck going red at his suggestion of her going into his costume. 'You are most kind to think of keeping Sayuri warm but it is not needed.' She placed a little hand on his arm, marvelling at the thickness of it. 'Sankyuu for talking with me. I am a little sleepy. Please excuse me.' She bowed low before Oz.

"Oh! Well, it's definitely eye-catching. I like the leafy crown you've got," he smiled. He made a general gesture at her robes. "It all looks kind of heavy though."
"Yeah, I think that's it. I didn't ask for anything specific, but this works just fine for me. It was really easy to put on. Most things aren't with these wings." He stretched his wings lazily behind him, but at the same time his arms slid forward on the table and knocked his cup over. He immediately picked up the cup, but it was too late, the spill was now spreading out over the table. There went his booze - now he'd have to get more. "Oops!"

To Pyroth's nose most of the scents present in the room were either "prey" like Emerwyn, too human like Oz or just plain weird like Zach. He hadn't noticed any other predators in particular until Jamal arrived. He might have been under a sheet but Pyroth's nose caught on almost instantly, in the wild you didn't miss a scent as dominant and feline as that and get away with it. He smirked slightly at his attempts to stay out of the crowd and at first, didn't go anywhere, just stayed sitting where he was, watching intently.
When he was sure that no one in the crowd was really watching him, he got to his paws and sauntered over to Jamal, glad for once that his height meant he could move along below the line of the tables somewhat unnoticed, he could get a drink later. When he was close enough to be heard clearly he whispered.
"Hey there stranger."

Tristan pushed his paper plate away. As he had hoped, the food was delicious. New 'people' had gathered in the area. One girl looked pretty normal and out of costume. He felt sorry for her. He hadn't been around very long before.. he changed. She probably didn't have a lot of time left.
He pushed his chair back and made his way over to the drinks table. This time, instead of mixing something up, he poured some alcohol straight into his cup. He regretted leaving his cigarettes back at his duplex but there wasn't really a place to put them, afterall. He would have to ignore the craving for as long as possible.
One of the costumes made him chuckle. There was someone (or something) wearing a sheet. It stood out against the other, more elaborate costumes in the area.
One woman was dressed as the slave girl from Star Wars. Tristan let his eyes wander over her body. Who knew when he'd get to see another female half naked. She wasn't half bad looking either if you liked foreign women. To him though, they all seemed to look alike but still, the body was pretty nice.
He didn't know what the hell the thing was dressed up as.. a demon? He decided to just block that thing out of his mind just like he did with the dog that seemed to be having the conversation with that feline princess. Some things he just didn't need to -- or want to -- think about. He'll concentrate on the more normal guests for the time being.

"It is, actually. Very heavy." Perhaps if she managed to sit all night. She nodded observing the wings. They were quite enchanting, really. But, she recolied when the drink spilled, dripping down the table. "Oh!" She got up. "Here, allow me to get some napkins... We will get you a new drink."

Jamal plodded clumsily to the food table, his claws by now having ripped slight holes in the shreds of dirty sheet he had attempted to wrap about his legs and feet to obsure them from view. His tail was tied to his waist with another piece of cloth, but the tethering was irritating and he had pondered letting his tail free. Only the fear of being IDed by lab people kept the wandering limb tucked beneath his costume. There was no mouth hole in his sheet, just two horribly crooked tears for eyes. Thankfully his sight was much better than his sewing capabilities, otherwise he wouldn't have made it a yard from his temporary home by the river.
As he pondered how to get the sliced meat from Point A, being the table, to Point B, his mouth, he was highly disturbed to see that something had spotted him. He bristled beneath his costume and tried to ignore the creature, which he had labeled as someone's dog (the tiger labeled him dinner), but when a highly familiar voice left said canine's mouth, Jamal was left dumbfounded. He wavered in place silently a moment, the head portion of the ghost tilting downward so the slit-eyes looked even more askew, and made a noise that sounded faintly like a groan.
"....Pyroth?"
The single statement was hissed, but kept well below average speaking volume.
