Sin smiled and gave a small jump. "I have Gael with me. Sanar, Tobias - " She held out the jar containing Gael's feather and fluff to show the two young gryphons. "This is - or will be, Gael. She's going to be a gryphon soon, and then she can play with you."

She turned to Jizzy and Chao, and grinned. "Okay then, let's go. It's this way." She pointed towards the now well-beaten path out of the village. Without so much as a backward glance, she began to walk away from her friends.

After a few paces she turned, "Well, are you coming?"

Sanar clicked the lines in return to Tobais, ruffling her feathers warmly. As Sin took out Gael's jar she clicked eagerly, it was like the other two the other bigbeing had taken a few suns ago!

"Yes, yes, we're coming," with one last roll of her shoulders which resulted in a slight crack Chao quickly set off after Sin Sanar easily falling into step with her.

Jizzy smiled and set off, jogging for a while before reaching her friends. Her eyes glimmered with a certain light behind her ever present shades. She was a thrill-seeker at heart, and it kind of helped to know that you're at no risk of dying.

"So.. tell us more baout the cave please?"

Tobias hooped and tried to escape from the bag, but was pushed under by his mother. It was true, he couldn't keeep up with them with his short legs and he had only been able to flutter about for a few minutes at a time. He just clicked in resignation and settled down, watching the other gryph walk.

Sin thought for a moment then began, her feet treading silently on the ground before her. "Well, it's in the woods, set into a rock ledge. There was some writing inside of it. I couldn't quite make it out before I had to leave." She paused, still thinking deeply. "And then there's the fact that I don't know why there would be a cave there. I mean, think about it."

She waved her hands about her, causing the food bag and Gael's jar to clatter. "Because of the Volcano, which has been dormant for many years, wouldn't it make sense that all the caves on this island were formed by the last eruption? But the odd thing is that it hasn't. The cave was made out of real rock, probally ignious or sommat like that. There was no trace of volcanic activity anywhere near the cave."

Chao nodded lightly in time with Sin before murmuring a small, "how odd..." and tilting her head, mulling over the facts.

Sanar's ears flickered quietly as she kept pace with the big things, long legs easily helping her along as she quietly relished in the feeling of the earth under her hooves. This was the best feeling of all, going somewhere with the grass chrunching slightly under them all. At the resigned click from Tobais she looked up and clicked invitingly; why wasn't he out here enjoying the earth and grass as well?

Jizzy nooded in agreementt, her face stern, yet her eyes glimering even brighter. A mystery, she liked it.

"I can't wait.. I brought my book to sketch some things I see there, or try to anyways.. I'm not the best artist."

Tobias gave a click to Sanar and placed his paws on the brim of the bag. He was too small and he hated it. He clicked a message to her, explaining why he couldn't join her.

There were times, Sin mused, where she wondered why Gael had not grown as fast as Sanar and Tobias had. She reasoned that she had been just trying too hard. She assumed that the growth would come in time, but it still made her feel as though she'd somehow been a bad guardian as she watched the two young gryphons clicking out a conversation together.

She turned into the forest, the village now far behind them. "It was right in here." She muttered to herself, wandering from right to left, squinting about. Maybe she'd gotten the entrance wrong...

She took several steps forward, remembering that she had ventured deep into the forest. Wow, I'm jumpy today, she commented to herself, and plundging back into the undergrowth. "Come on guys! We're nearly there."

And that was a good thing, as the sky was darkening...

"Mmm, sketchies," Chao chimed in cheerfully, she was nearly out of paper in her own sketchbook and had left it at her home to make room for vegatables and a small medical kit.

Sanar ruffled her wings, agitation showing in every movement. That wasn't good, Tobais she be down and enjoying the ground! Not stuck in some odd thing. With a click and a wiggle of her back she offered to carry him instead, at least then he wouldn't be stuck in a cloth thing.

As the clicked conversation continued Chao glanced to the gryphons, up to the darkening skies then back to sin. She hoped her frien was right. "We're following," she called, plunging into the undergrowth, making sure Sanar stayed at her side.

Jizzy followed them into the underbrush, smiling broadly.

Tobias gave an exited hoop and wriggled out of the bag, dropping down to the floor with thump. He sson scruuried over to Sana, hooping and clicking.

Jizzy paused for a moment, but sighed. Tobias obviously wouldn't stay put.

"Stay close though.."

She said, keeping an eye on her.

Sin sighed as she brushed past another tree. It would be hard for the young gryphons to venture this far into the woods, though the tangled undergrowth. Maybe this whole trip had been a bad idea. She shook her head, and turned back towards Jizzy and Chao. "Maybe we should take a break in that clearing up ahead." She suggested, "Because the little ones look as though they're having some trouble. I don't want anyone to get lost."

"'Kay," Chao calls in return, batting away the branches on one of the trees fiercely, happy the clearing is relative close.

Sanar clicks as Tobais nears and moves down to her knees, lowering herself down low to the ground so that Tobais can get onto her back with more ease.

Tobias eagerly climbed onto Sanar's back, hooping cheerfully.

Jizzy followed closely, watching Tobias out of the corner of her eye. She pulled away the brush so the gryphons had a clear path.

"If you say so, I'd like to find the cave as sson as we can though.."

Sin resolved to take a break, but she now wondered if it was a good idea. It looked as though it was going to rain again. She hadn't remembered a rain coat. Again. Damn it all.

She pushed apart the final branches into the clearing, and found herself up against the rock wall that she remembered from her previous trip. They had to be close. They'd eat some food here, and would be able to find the cave if it started to rain cats and dogs the way it had the last time that Sin had been out to the cave.

"So." Sin turned back to Jizzy and Chao, taking a seat on a tree stump. "Who wants food?"

With a bit of effort Sanar raised herself back up onto her feet once Tobais was balanced on her back. Once she was up she found moving forward was easier than getting up had been and trotted along besides the bigthings easily with Tobais on her back.

After holding back some of the growth for Jizzy Chao stepped into the small clearing and sat down on the ground, thankful it wasn't wet. Stretching she watched as Sanar trot along easily with Tobais on her back, seemingly enjoying the experience.

At Sin's question she perked up, "I do! Can I try one of those chicken salad sandwiches you mentioned?"

Tobias hooped happyly as he was finally out of the bag. He gave a thankful click to Sanar and stroked her neck with his head as a sign of gratitude.

Jizzy walked through the brush, muttering a thank you to Chao. She looked up at the sky. Rain.. SHe was almost sure of it. She looked over at Sin's bag then back at the brush aroudn then. They'd beter save hier food.

"No thank you.. I'm not hungry.."

SHe murmured softly.
