'Look all you like,' she purred softly, then her face grew solemn and she walked on, ahead of him half a step. 'Feles told me most of what happened to him. Who his captor was. And something else. One of our Court was there.' she turned, stopping as they had reached the outside now and she blinked at the sudden change in light.

Lupinus's amusement faded as the implications of what she had just said became very apparent. His eyes narrowed. There were still few of their Court old enough to even be a possiblity... well, traitors must be dealt with swiftly, they would make sure of that. "Who?" he asked, stopping when she did. This was indeed news that must be brought to Nox's attention at the first opportunity.

She held a hand to the light, watching the sun glint off her long black nails before answering; 'Our Oracle...the esteemed Spina.' she said, her voice soft although a touch of venom was detectable in her tone. Aranea dropped the hand to her side and looked at him. 'I am told she seemed to be on speaking terms with Feles' captor..there was a history or something.'

"Spina," he echoed with evident distaste. Somehow, he wasn't too surprised, though no less angry for it. He had been right to mention his uneasiness about the oracle to Pteryx, then-- he hoped she'd remember that if the woman returned. "She must be aware that her betrayal is known, by now. Though I would not put it past her, I am surprised she is in league with the Sun Court. Perhaps she uses them as well. They might even take care of her for us, though not as well as I would like." He thought a moment, and asked, "Did Feles have much to say about his captor?" Perhaps they could dig up some of this history...

'A name and a description.' Aranea nodded. She had thought briefly herself that this simply might be something that Spina was doing to infiltrate the Sun Court to further their means but something didnt fit, feel right about it. After all - she could easily have been the someone that Muris had alluded to who had visited them. Spina might very well be the one that had told the Sun Court of their whereabouts when they had kidnapped the child. She moved further on, her bare feet brushed by the grass blades as she walked towards the lake. 'Laniger.. a male Fey with ram's horns.'

Well, that was something. Neither the name nor the description sounded familiar, but it was much more than they'd had before. Any information could be useful. Which was exactly why Spina was so dangerous to them... "We'll have to assume that anything she knows could have been passed onto the Sun Court, then." He'd like to drown Spina in that lake, he thought.

'I dont know. I would hazard a guess that she will tell them just enough to make them do what she wants.' Aranea had reached the water's edge by that time and she knelt down, flicking the water and watching the ripples. 'All I know is that I helped her back to good health after she was freed. And I wish I hadnt.'

Lupinus shrugged. "You couldn't have known. Even the Majestrix was taken in by Spina's lies, it looks like. Though it's regrettable that she was freed at all."
He stopped at the lake's edge as well, staring out over the water's surface. "The question is... what does she want that she can gain from the Sun Court?" Unless it was just some kind of grudge against their own court, perhaps. He hadn't spoken much to Spina.
What did she want? And if they found out, how could they use it against her?

'Someone of her skills going over to our enemy.' she sighed, rubbing her arms as the chill from the ground began to make her cold. 'I dont know. How can we second someone as old as she?'

"Maybe we can't. But if the alternative is to let her continue to manipulate events involving our Court unopposed-- well, she can't be infallible." It did seem like an uphill battle, trying to take on the Oracle, but what other choice did they have? And surely even the most gullible of the Sun Court wouldn't just trust her right away.

'No you are right on that point. She cannot continue to work against us if that is what she is doing. Aranea stood again, stretching a little. 'Majestrix Nox must be told of this. It maybe that she knows of some plan that Spina is involved in. But I fear that is not the case. We could not move against Nox's Oracle without her being informed.' she looked at Lupinus. 'Do you agree?'

Lupinus wondered for a moment if it was possible Spina was actually on some mission for Nox, but dicarded the thought, and shook his head. Nox would have warned them, so as not to ruin her cover. No, they simply had anotherenemy to deal with. "No, you're right. We should do nothing about Spina until Nox is alerted to the situation. I'm sure she will have some insight that we do not. How long do you think it will be before you can see her?"

'I do not know.' Aranea moved a little closer to Lupinus and played with the ends of his hair again, trying to distract her mind from thinking of the unpleasant task ahead. 'Have you seen any sign of the Sun Court since we returned? It seems to be all quiet in that regard and I am hoping we have time before they show their hand again.'

Lupinus sighed-- the situation was rather frustrating-- but then smiled as Aranea returned to playing with his hair. He could admit, to himself anyway, that perhaps he was vain when it came to his hair, as he'd heard people say; he he did like his hair being played with, though. He reached out and took a lock of her pale hair, let it slide through his fingers, and his hand brushed her shoulder, rested there lightly. "I have seen nothing of them. But, with their mouse returned to them, they will not be in much hurry to bother us for some time, I think. Maybe they will even hope we will simply leave them be."

Aranea's mouth tilted up on one side, twisting into a cold smile; 'I wonder if she yet knows about the truth of what I told her of her companion.' It was an good thing - causing pain to their enemy, and she placed a hand on top of the one Lupinus had rested on her shoulder. She pressed another hand to his chest, and leaned inwards, looking up the wolven Fey. 'I have not yet thanked you for travelling with me to their Castle.' she said softly, playing with him some more. It wasnt that she wanted him...she just wanted to pass the time and what better way then with someone male.
