I am currently in love with Владимир Высоцкий. I'd like to get into some more foreign music....I've had enough French/German/Spanish/Italian music. I mean I love what I have...but I'm really interested in finding some more Eastern European artists.

Let's see...what can I think of off the top of my head... The Abkhaz stuff is hard to find and, unfortunately, I do not remember where I got it or who it is crying (same goes for the Croatian, Hungarian and Norwegian >.<) Arabic: DJ Sheb i Sabbah has some really great stuff (in a lot of different languages, but a lot is in Arabic) I'm still trying to track down the Basque music >.< (I listened to it for half an hour on the radio but can't remember the name of the group; I really liked it, very balkan sounding) Catalan: l'Ham de Foc is a pretty good world fusion band (the singing is, ad far as I can tell, all in Catalan) www.lhamdefoc.com Georgian: The Rustavi Choir is very good. Greek: anything on The Dance of Heaven's Ghosts (a truly excellent CD) Hebrew: Ofra Haza (Israeli pop, I really liked it when I was a kid...now it's kind of meh) Hindi: Legacy (Ali Akbar Khan on Sarod, vocals by Asha Bhosle , and Swapan Chaudhuri on Tablas) is one of my favorites. Saami: Wimme (and his collaborations with Hedningarna) Swedish: Hedningarna, Garmarna.

We reject it. We erase it from our memories. But the imprint is always there...
I listen to a variety of music, but mainly English, Japanese, and German. I do have some Polish & Korean on my iPod though. I would list some artists, but I'm afraid the list would go on forever. gonk
But the imprint is always there. Nothing is ever really forgotten...

N 1 K 3 I'd like to hear how French rap sounds.... xd
For the most part, I listen to music in English in several genres (Rap/HipHop, R&B, Pop, Alternative, Rock, Electronica/Dance, Country), but my parents own a lot of Salsa, Pop, Merengue, and Rock in Spanish, which they tend to put on during New Year's and Christmas Eve. 3nodding Try NTM , especially 'Ma Benz' , or 'Assassin de la Police'. I just luff those songs <33 [ P.S : I can send some french rap to you, if you want ] Or Manau. It's celtic rap. Or I AM Or Abd Al Malik heart heart . He's just AWESOME. He reconciled me with rap. But it's more slam than rap.
At the moment, I'm just in love with ... sort of electro acid jazz/tango [ Hotel Costes, Gotan Project, Saint Germain, Roudoudou , Buddha Bar,...] and Jean Gabin [ 30's or 40's songs <33 It's just awesome xD ]

My Critique http://www.lhamdefoc.com/The hair of the band is funky and they look like fools. The style is post modern. Aaaaack! Post-modern! I loathe post-modern art. mrgreen I only hate the claim to be World Fusion because they did not include the Native American, African and South East Asian instruments in there (The regions European greed made the most impact) 1) Its like mainstream Indo-European historical insensitivity. 2) It's like Homo Universalis experiencing entropy in hairstyle. blaugh
