The Angel Of War i dont get # 9 i believe in a church of the world but i dont get why u daid cathalic and that other word Technically, I think Catholic as a word and not a denomination means "church of the world" and that's why the original founders of the catholic church chose it as a name... I think we brought that up in Bible study a long time ago, but I'm not sure.

sistergoldenhair Gatta Forte sistergoldenhair Gatta Forte sistergoldenhair Gatta Forte I'm a Christian who actively participates in my church. In 2 weeks time, I'll be confirmed. I /TRY/ to maintain myself in as much of a christian mindset as possible. Congratulations. My confirmation was a life-marking event for me. Thank you so much. I'm kinda nervous and between everyone at church telling me it won't be that bad and you telling me it will be great, I DO feel less nervous! Thanks! Let me put it this way, I don't know if bp Moody was a little overzealous with the laying on of hands (dude squeezed my head) or the Spirit was responsible for making me go weak in the knees... BTW: the first explanation is a joke. Well, it was still life-marking... or head marking? lol, I couldn't resist. Heh...at St. Mark's we had a running (serious) joke about being able to feel the sign of the cross on your forhead ever after.. Thankfully no Confirmation horror stories here, just 2 regrets: 1. I half-cried half the time out of nerves, and 2. I wore a headband that went with my outfit that had a few teeth in the bottom. When our minister put his hand on my head I had a few poke me. lol Other than that, I... survived, if nothing else.

i personally am not a christian, but i am very interested in learning as much as possible from as many christians as i can (but don't think i'm about to convert; i just want to learn).
i think you've got a good idea here, sister; some more christian-related threads might be helpful. i would try to come up with something, but all i can come up with are "what does this mean" or "how do you veiw this." if there is any way i can help (if you're still considering this) i'd be glad to do it.

That's a good idea, and I've been neglecting this end quite a bit. Of course, as I explained earlier, I've been spending my evenings at the Y trying to keep from dying of obesity and getting ready for Advent.

Advent is the season in the church year that begins preparation for the coming of Christ...both the annual memory of his first "advent" (coming) as a child in the manger at Christmas and his coming again in glory. It begins on the first Sunday in December and ends on Christmas Eve day. It is traditionally a joyfully penitential season of preparation. It's a good time to straighten out your life, attempt to slow down and be reflective. The Twelve Days of Christmas (Christmas Day through Epiphany) are traditionally a time of wild celebration. It isn't over on Christmas Day, far from it. It's bad luck ot leave your Christmas decorations up after January 6 (epiphany---when the wise men arrive to visit the infant Christ) and poor taste to take them down before hand. wink

Thought I'd revive this... if you haven't voted on it before, please do..
Also, if you have any basic, mundane, oh-so freakishly boring non-magic psychic related Christianity questions, go ahead and ask..

Zeromaye Well I have one... why do people join christian guilds if the aren't a christian?! I mean I'm not going to join a buddist guild for no reason at all! I just don't understand it! stressed talk2hand stressed It could be partially for the learning experience or point of view. I know it seems a bit illogical to join a guild about a religion that is not yours, but there are some logical reasons.

Zeromaye Well I have one... why do people join christian guilds if the aren't a christian?! I mean I'm not going to join a buddist guild for no reason at all! I just don't understand it! stressed talk2hand stressed In this guild, two reasons: 1) They're a friend of mine. 2) They find us interesting. I've also had Christians join this guild (and let them in against my better judgment) who only want to harass the people here for being "witches". I promptly eat them for breakfast when this becomes manifest. Edit: Just a word to the wise, I also eat people for breakfast (if you didn't read the rules) for harassing people because of their faith, lack thereof, or sexual orientation in this group. Being mean is a good way to get me shut you down and kick you out.
