28th December 2004
Aranea rolled out of bed, clutching at the pain in her sides. What was wrong with her? Sweat was dripping from her head, and her clothes clung to her damp body. As she twitched on the fur rug that was by her bed, she felt a strange tingling run through her body, and the dress she was wearing ripped. She lay there, sprawled and panting on the rug, the cold air touching where her skin was bared. Her arms shook as she propped herself up, slowly getting to her feet. She clutched at the remnants of her dress, and walked over to the full length mirror that stood against one wall. She gaped in shock, dropping the dress and looking at herself. She had grown over night; turning she poked at her new body, pinching her skin to make sure she was awake. 'Ouch,' she said. Well she was awake after all. This was too much to take in - she hadnt expected to change so abruptly. Was this why she had been ill? She ran a hand through her hair, the fine, and now longer strands running through her fingers. She prodded at her new curves, and the new size of her chest. She posed a bit, marvelling at her new look. Now was the time to wear the dress she had made. She had thought that she would not get a chance to wear it for a long time; it was really only something a teenager could wear anyway. She went to the wardrobe, pulling it out and slipping it on. Dashing back to the mirror she smiled wickedly. Now she looked good, and she touched the material, fluttering her wings a little. She would have to seek out Lupinus, and show him how she looked. And the Majestrix - she would want to know that she was older. She left her room...

Meeting Feles: Quote: Shinobaseru: Feles slunk down the hall slowly, tail twitching behind himself as he moved. He didn't make a sound, bare feet padding over the stone floor in complete silence as he traversed the upper floors of Castellum Umbra. Youko had been a sleep when he woke, and while the cat was a bit more at ease around the fox than he had been previously, he still didn't like the idea of someone holding onto him. He'd slipped out shortly after and had begun prowling around. Now he stood at the library doors, peering inside. This place was familiar... the scent reminded him of that he'd encountered when he'd first woken. Before the bedroom, he remembered it from when Youko had picked him up and wrapped him in the jacket. This must have been where he'd been trapped all this time. Stepping into the room, he moved slowly, looking around with ears pricked up. Silvamord1: Aranea shifted on the ornate wooden chair, trying to get comfortable as she leafed through the pages of an old tome on usage of herbs. The book smelt musty and the pages crackled, and as she flicked over another page she yawned. Pushing her chair back, she stood to go fetch another one and glanced towards the doors. She blinked; another Fey? She moved over quietly, two hands behind her back. Shinobaseru: One pointed white ear swivelled towards Aranea the moment she moved, Feles' eyes following suit a moment later. It was a girl... an older girl, from the looks of her, and she was walking towards him. It didn't take much for him to realise that she was one of his own kind, and he stood his ground, ears flattening slightly against his hair. With Youko, he'd run... with another Fey, he'd at least give them the benefit of the doubt. At the beginning. The boy was small, appearing to be little more th an a toddler really, although he seemed to move well enough. As Aranea approached, he looked up at her with a mix of curiosity and nervousness. Silvamord1: She smiled benignly; why, he was only a child - he looked even younger then she remembered being when she was freed. She flicked a her hair back, and knelt before him, folding hand on top of hand as she looked at him. 'Greetings,' she said formally, looking him over. Shinobaseru: Putting herself on his level seemed to make him more at ease, the boy's ears starting to lift as he clasped his hands behind his back and grabbed hold of his tail. Tails were wonderful things, he realised. Mood indicators, pillows, legwarmers... and security blankets. "H'lo," he said softly, the word spoken as best he could manage." Silvamord1: Aranea held out a hand, it strayed towards his ears and head involuntarily - such a strange little Fey, she mused, watching as the boy clutched to his tail. She bought her hand back though, not wanting at this time to scare him away. 'You have a name ?' she asked, pointing to herself. 'I am Aranea.' Shinobaseru: "Fes..." he said just as softly, blinking at the way his name sounded. That wasn't right, he thought to himself. Ah well... best to go with it. He pointed to her then, tilting his head faintly. "Anea..." He would be thankful for when he could just TALK. Silvamord1: 'Fes?' she repeated, tilting her head a little. That was a peculiar name. 'Umm Aranea actually,' she said, sounding out the syllables. She grinned and went closer, one finger near her lips. 'But you can call me 'Nea',' she poked her tongue out at him. She wondered if Lupinus had seen this new Fey - but then would that be a good thing? What with him being of a canine totem, and this one obviously feline. She felt something tickle her, and touching her hand to her shoulder a spider crawled onto her hand. She moved her hand to show 'Fes', and it cleaned its two front legs as it sat on her hand. Shinobaseru: "Nea..." he repeated softly, nodding. He sighed a bit, not quite sure just how he could pronounce that whole big name. Maybe he'd be able to after a bit of practice. At the sight of the spider, however, he stopped dead, ears pricking up fully as his eyes widened. He leaned forward until he was nearly nose-to-legs with the spider, staring at it with rapt curiosity. "Wha?" he asked, looking up at her again and pointing to the spider. Silvamord1: 'Its a spider,' she said. 'Its my totem,' she explained. The spider lifted its front two legs up now and tickled Feles on the nose. Aranea laughed, her wings fluttering a little. Shinobaseru: The pale pink eyes crossed until they were looking at the spider directly, the boy's nose wrinkling as it was tickled by the tiny legs. He smiled then, just faintly, but enough to be seen. This was alright, he thought to himself. This little thing wasn't bad. It also didn't try to hug him when he wasn't expecting it. He was still a bit wary of the girl, but the spider didn't seem to be worried about her, so she must be okay. Silvamord1: The spider crawled right onto Feles's nose, waving its legs as it went. Aranea grinned; 'Well I guess my spiders like you - so I should like you. Of course if you hurt the spiders..' she left the sentence hanging, settling her wings back down. She yawned a little, covering her mouth with a hand. 'Do you have a Kithain somewhere here?' she asked. Shinobaseru: Feles looked up at her in confusion. Why would he want to hurt it? He was about to protest, then paused as he heard her question and nodded. "Fox," he said simply, not knowing what Youko's name was yet. He pointed upward then, behind Aranea to what was now a blank pane of stained glass that had, up until that day, housed an image of a white cat. "Dere," he said, then pointed to himself again. Silvamord1: 'Your Kithain is a fox?' more oddities, she thought. Hers was human - well she thought anyways. Not that she really cared either way. She looked in the direction that he pointed to. 'You came from the window? I did too. Mine was hidden away in a gloomier place though,' she folded her arms, and tapped her chin thoughtfully as she watched the spider continue to explore the young Fey. Shinobaseru: Nodding again, Feles let his tail swish behind him as he listened to her and tried to watch the spider on his nose. As it worked its way up along one eyebrow, he snickered softly and let his ears fall to the sides. As Aranea spoke of her own window, however, he grew curious and glanced back to her. "Where?" Silvamord1: 'Down below,' she pointed, a finger touching the stone floor. 'In the laboratory.' she watched the spider again, as it began to idly spin a web from one of his ears. She grinned, finally tickling between his ears with one hand. He probably wouldnt like it, but he was pretty - she liked pretty things. Shinobaseru: As predicted, the boy immediately ducked out of the way of the touch, eyes narrowing slightly. The motion jarred the spider slightly, and he immediately froze, hoping that it wouldn't go away from the motion. The spider was a lot like him, he realised. It couldn't talk either, but it knew enough to know who it did and didn't trust. And it DID seem to trust the girl. Finally, Feles seemed to relax a bit and looked guiltily up at Aranea. "Sowwy Nea..." . Silvamord1: The spider dangled from a line, then scurried back up when Feles stopped moving. Aranea shrugged; what was it that she liked about this little guy? When he shrunk away she felt - bad? Her forehead wrinkled - maybe it was because he wasnt demanding affection of her like her stupid Kithain. A tiny scowl passed over her face, marring her beauty for a moment. It went again as she looked at Feles. 'Its okay - It takes me alot to trust people too,' she gave a faint smile. Shinobaseru: That made the cat smile. She understood!! While he definately didn't mind being cuddled or petted, he DID require that it be on his own terms. If HE wanted the attention, he'd go seeking it... maybe that crazy fox would get the hint eventually and quit trying to grab him for a hug. The ear that the spider was on stayed pricked up, the boy making the effort so that he wouldn't disturb the web-spinning again. Something like that looked like it took a lot of work and it would be a shame for it to go to waste. "What dat?" he asked suddenly, his attention taken by the books that lay open on the table that Aranea had been sitting at. Like his totem, this particular Fey seemed to have a fleeting attention span when something caught his eye. Silvamord1: Aranea stood, stretching her legs where they had fallen asleep from kneeling on the cold floor, and walked to the table. 'This is what I am studying. So that the Moon Court can be powerful,' she pulled a chair out for Feles to scramble on if he wanted a closer look. Shinobaseru: He did so, crawling up onto the chair and kneeling on it as he leaned against the table and looked at the book. He let his tail drape over the arm of hte chair as he puzzled at the book, frowning softly. He SHOULD remember this... part of him realised that the books were familiar, as was the language they were written in... but he couldn't quite manage to make them make sense. His gaze was drawn to the alchemical symbols and he let a claw tap against the page for a moment. "Dat..." he said softly, a tap against one of the symbols indicating which he was speaking of. He then looked to two others on the page and motioned to them as well. "An' dose... bad." After that gem of insight, the boy turned his attention back to the spider, watching it dangle from his ear. Silvamord1: 'You are right,' she said, chuckling. 'Not something you want to be touching - or putting in there,' and she pointed to his mouth. 'But these would be very handy for the Sun Court,' and her crimson eyes flashed with malice. Shinobaseru: At the mention of the Sun Court, Feles turned quickly and scowled. Oh he remembered THEM... and a low frowl came from his throat as he looked back to the books. He'd learn... and he'd learn everything he could to help Nea with this. If she wanted to cause them pain, he'd be MORE than willing to do whatever was needed. "I help," he whispered solemnly, not at all the tone one would expect from a toddler. Silvamord1: She looked a little surprised, but smiled in appreciation. 'Well - I wouldnt know how could help yet. I'm waiting on Lupinus to report back on the effect of some toxins I gave him to test.' she got carried away in the explanations of her work, but then thought that she might be talking about things Fes had no inkling of. Shinobaseru: He brought a hand up to his head, tapping the side gently. "I 'member," he said, smiling almost ferally, the cat's fangs showing slightly. Motioning to the books around them, Feles let his gaze sweep the room before coming back to Aranea. "No good, fight. Fes read." He frowned then, sighing as he slumped back into the chair. "No good now." Silvamord1: 'That's okay,' she said. She wasnt too fond of blundering warriors who thought that all problems could be solved with a flex of their muscles. Her potions were far more effective, and all the more dangerous. After all - someone with a sword was an obvious danger. Poisoned food and drink - that was something hidden and unexpected. A tiny spider, that they thought harmless, that she had changed so that its venom sacs held a toxin more deadly then it was meant to have...a wicked smile broke on her face and she shook herself. 'You would be far more valuable to me if you were to help me read and find the help I need. I try and split my time between experimenting and researching. But if you could help me..' Shinobaseru: Nodding, Feles grinned. He could do that! He was sure th at with a bit of practice, the texts would come back to him... that he'd be able to understand them just as easily as he had before. He knew without even thinking about it that he wouldn't be able to write for a bit, but that would take practice as well. Something like this just didn't go away, not when he remembered everything else. "Yes!" he exclaimed, tail lashing behind him in excitement. Silvamord1: 'I am guessing you need to..practice a little to read this ?' she said. It had taken her a while to learn as she recalled. Then she giggled, noticing that the spider had completed its web and now sat in the middle, the web itself stretching from his pointed ear to the middle of his head. Shinobaseru: "Yesh," came the mumbled reply as he stared at the books. Dammit, the text was supposed to make SENSE. He barely noted the spider, but somehow managed to keep that one ear still as the other twitched nervously. "Fes help," he said stubbornly, glaring at the book as if willing it to make sense. A word here and there jumped out at him and he knew it would only take some time and work to make the rest do it too. Silvamord1: 'I know you want to help,' she smiled again, reassuring him. 'But you will only make lines here,' and she pointed at his head, 'if you squint to make the words make sense.' Shinobaseru: He brought up his gaze, looking at her finger and sighing softly before nodding. "Fes learn," he said, offering the girl a genuine smile for the first time. He WOULD help... he just had to keep trying. Silvamord1: 'I know you will,' she closed the books for now, piling them up. 'But there is time I think before we make our move against the Sun Court.' and she returned his smile, wondering if he wasnt turning her soft. Shinobaseru: Nodding, the boy leaned against the table again, reaching for one of the books and pulling it closer to inspect the cover. "Kifain help Fes learn." It seemed reasonable. The fox had to be good for SOMETHING, after all. And if he didn't want to help, Feles would MAKE him help. Silvamord1: 'You make your Kithain help you,' she poked her tongue out at him. 'Thats what they are there for. They are our slaves.' and she smirked. Shinobaseru: "Yesh," he agreed, the pale eyes locking onto Aranea as the slitted pupils narrowed. "Fes make him help." He giggled faintly then, sticking out his tongue back at her and accidentally jarring the spider. It scampered back up to his ear and as he felt the legs in his fur, he seemed to remember the tiny creature again. Looking up as far as he could, he huffed faintly. "Sowwy." Silvamord1: The spider moved back down, as Aranea looked at it. Back down his head and then onto his nose, dropping from it on a thread and dancing a little. 'I think it likes you,' she chuckled. Shinobaseru: "Fes like," he said, cupping his hands beneath the spider and grinning at it. He lifted his palms, letting the spider land on them, then held them out towards Aranea again. "Pretty." Silvamord1: 'You can keep it if you like,' she said, as it waved its legs before scuttling back up Feles's arm. Shinobaseru: While he'd love to, he already remembered his Kithain's first reaction to seeing a bug in the room. "Kifain squish," he said sadly, frowning as he tried to catch the spider and nearly wound up spinning himself around in the chair to do it. "No like bugs." Silvamord1: 'This is not a bug,' she said, as the spider flew off the spinning child and landed on Aranea again. 'Spiders are arachnids, they have eight legs. Insects or 'bugs' as your Kithain calls them have six legs.' she frowned. 'But yes, if he will do that then it is safer with me. You can come visit my spiders at any time, they live safely in my room.' Shinobaseru: "Acknid," Feles tried to say, watching the spider's motions. "Where room?" He was kneeling in the chair again, half leaning on the table as he watched the tiny creature crawl over the girl. Silvamord1: 'Probably somewhere near yours. I think our chambers are all in one section of the Castle.' she drummed her sharp nails idly on the wood of the table, as the spider vanished into her web like hair. Shinobaseru: "K..." Feles smiled then, resting his chin on the table and watched her fingers idly. "Fes like," he said idly, flicking his gaze up to her. "I come see soon." Next time, he promised himself, he'd have something to offer as well. Even if he had to drag books back to his room to teach HIMSELF how to read them. He was determined that he wouldn't be useless for much longer. Silvamord1: 'If I'm not in my room I am in the basement,' she said. 'You can always visit me there too.' Shinobaseru: Nodding, Feles grinned. He slid from the chair then and stretched, tail uncurling from around his leg. "I find," he replied, making a mental note of that. The basement would be easy enough to find... just keep taking stairs that went down. "Fank you." Silvamord1: 'Well,' she said, standing and gathering up a few of the books to take down to the lab. 'I really need to get going again. My potions beckon me.' she knelt down to Feles and looked at him. 'And if you ever need to send your Kithain into a long sleep,' and she winked, smirked and stood again. 'Just let me know.' Shinobaseru: Snickering softly, Feles determined that he LIKED this girl. Taking his leave then, he darted towards the door, leaving with as little sound as that which he'd arrived with. He paused just outside the door, waving to her. "Bye!" he called, tail swishing behind him as he disappeared from view. Silvamord1: She waved with a hand, whilst clutching her books with two others. Well, it seemed she had gained an eager little assistant, and she left the library with a light step.

3rd January 2005
Aranea ran a hand over the red leather cover of the notebook that Sayuri had dropped off. Apparently she had been waiting until Aranea changed to a teen to give it to her; she thought it would make a useful journal. At least her Kithain had done something worth while for once, she mused as she opened the notebook. She pulled out a long black feather quill, un-capped a bottle of red ink, filled the quib and began to write;
3.01.05
This is my first entry - first real personal entry. I've kept a log in the laboratory of my experiments and the results, but never anything of my own personal affairs. There have been some interesting events recently around the Castellum. One such, that I was privy to, and was even of use during the occasion, was that the Oracle, Spina, was released. She had been trapped within a statue - rather she was the statue and she had been sunk to the bottom of the lake. A Kithain was found - someone of her blood, and she was brought to Tir Nan Og to revive Spina. Which she did - I was on hand with a tonic to revive the Oracle, which I made whilst we were travelling on that boat contraption. I hate open bodies of water - and I would have not gone if not for Nox being there. Her word is always my command, as it should be. Once Spina was more herself I led her and her Kithain to the chambers that had been prepared for her whilst she stayed in the Castellum.
The very next day I met yet another Fey, a small feline Moon Court boy. His name, well the name he told me was 'Fes'. I - am not too sure what to think about him. He brings out an odd side to me. I find him - dare I say? charming. He was determined to be of some help to me, as he believed himself not of use in a physical way in our fight against the Sun Court. I think he will be very helpful - he seemed very bright even for his age. And now I must leave this. There is some sort of gathering happening, and I wanted to make sure I had some of my less lethal toxins with me; should Nox require a demonstration of some kind.

Moon Court GatheringQuote: Sajhiri PLANNING NEW YEAR'S SABOTAGEA fire burned in a brazier in the center of the floor of the Inner Sanctum. Herbs had been added to the oils to give the flames strange purple and green hues as they danced around the iron lip of the cauldron. In front of it, Majestrix Nox sat in the circle of Moon Court Fey surrounding the conflagration. Her eyes were closed in contemplation, but in due course they opened, the twilight orbs sweeping over the assembled members of her court.
"The time has arrived my people. Our numbers increase, and the Sun Court is blissfully unaware of our return. My Kithain has provided me intelligence on a forthcoming revel by our foolish brethren to celebrate the New Year, and I believe it will be a good time to show our hand. Are you ready to stand by me as we deal a blow to the fools who treat humans as equals rather than servants?" Youkochylde Feles watched, pale eyes reflecting the lights from the brazier as he listened. He hated this... hated being small and weak. He WANTED to help. He wanted to do something more than sit and muddle through things that the older Fey did with an astonishing ease. Still, there had to be something that he could do. Snapping his attention back to Nox as her question rang out, he stepped forward, the crisp white of his tabard gleaming against equally white skin. He didn't say a word... he didn't want to make a fool of himself when he already knew that he could barely form a coherent sentence. O-Ren~Ishii Spina listen to the Majestrix, her words were like music to her ears. Finally they would be able to show themselves and her magic could be put to use. She was paying attention to no one else, only Nox. It was about time they did something, took a step forward. The Sun Court seemed quite useless, even with their high numbers she felt they would the Moon Court would stand over them.
She nodded, a grin acros her face. It was first time she had been so happy since woken. "My Majestrix, your plan is beyond perfect. And i am more them willing to make a stand on that night." she siad, her white teeth visible threw her smirk. But worss words felt like a lie, would she help, or did she only want to see the outcome of is meeting between the two courts. She was unsure about that, but sure that the action they would take would most definatly be worth writing in a history book. Sayuri_Nitta Aranea finished filling the phials, aware that she was probably late and would be the last one to arrive in the Majestrix's presence. She hoped as she sealed the phials with wax stoppers that what she had made for use against the Sun Court would appease Nox for her tardiness. She unrolled a leather pack, sliding each phial into the straps, and rolled the pack up. She tucked it away, rinsing her hands in a stone bowl of spring water to remove any trace of chemicals, then she ran her fingers through her hair and left the gloomy laboratory. She pattered up the stairs quickly and ran along corridors, finally entering the Inner Sanctum. She brushed down her dress, and made a courtly bow to Majestrix Nox, regaining her breath as she stood amongst her fellow Fey. Sajhiri Nox's starry gaze rested first on Feles, to whom she granted a smile of approval. She seemed inordinately pleased with the newest child escaped from the curse.
Spina's words drew her eyes to the returned Sleeper and she nodded her head. "Your support is both heartening and invigorating, Oracle. Later this evening perhaps you can scry for me the outcome of our actions. But let me further lay out my intent."
She rose from where she had been seated, and began to stalk around the outside of the circle of fey, her fingers steepled before her chin. "Sajhiri has informed me that King Cervus intends to hold a Masquerade ball in honor of the revel. This is a perfect opportunity for us to slip in costumed and unrecognized. I suspect it will take even the most observant of them a few hours to realize there are more fey present than their numbers should amount to. Especially as I have a plan to muddle their senses. This requires the skills of Aranea and a brave volunteer to be the first to venture in." Youkochylde Feles thought for a moment, a frown crossing his lips as he tried to think. He was a child... no one really suspected a child of anything. By the same token, the stupid Sun Court Fey might take it upon themselves to 'watch out' for him, and might prevent him from being able to do something unseen. He looked up at Nox then willing to let her make the decision. "Fes go. Can sneak aroun'... but dumb Fey might 'fink Fes need hand held." He made a face then, displaying exactly what he thought of being coddled. "Dey maybe 'fink lil kid not bad. Can look good." With that, he looked up at Nox with his best 'Oh lookit that, he's such a little ANGEL' expression, eyes wide and ears pricked straight up from his pale hair. Angua von Uberwald Lupinus saw Aranea when he entered and had stared, not recognizing her at first, and looking away quickly when he realized who it was. She'd grown too, then, and she was very pret... tall, he thought firmly.
Well, and what did he expect, that Aranea would stay a child forever? He felt awkward watching how graceful she was now. His cheeks felt warm, and he avoided her gaze, focusing instead on the Majestrix.
He nodded as Nox revealed her plan. It sounded good, the perfect chance for them to reveal themselves. Carefully not looking at Aranea, he stepped forward and bowed. "I will volunteer myself to be the first to enter, Majestrix," he said.
A thought came to him, and he looked down at the small cat fey with narrowed eyes. Sacrifices must be made for the plan, he sighed, and continued, though not thrilled with the thought of dealing with a child. "Perhaps Feles could accompany me, as the Sun Court may wonder why a small child fey is arriving alone." Sajhiri Nox looked from Feles to Lupinus and she nodded with a pleased expression. "Indeed, if your wings and tail are suitably hidden, Lupinus, in costume you might easily appear to be the Kithain of one of the young Sun Court fey, and Feles as your charge. That should work splendidly."
She paused in her pacings and glanced around the circle once more. "Then this is how we shall proceed. Aranea shall distill a concoction that when added to their libations, will muddle the senses of the Sun Court fey, slow their reactions and thoughts, much as one might be muddled were they to drink too much alcohol. Lupinus and Feles shall slip into their ball and hopefully, being mistaken for one of the Sun Court's own, shall slip the potion into the source or sources of the drinks the court is imbibing."
The Majestrix's lips curved in a sinister smile as she put a hand upon the shoulder of first Aranea, then Feles and Lupinus as each were mentioned in their duties.
"Once the potion has taken effect, then the rest of us shall slip in and mingle with their fold, and seek out the target of our invasion...."
She paused, and looked for the reaction from her people, letting the suspense take hold of just what their ultimate purpose would be. Sayuri_Nitta Aranea had been mentally going over the mixtures she had made; maybe what she had brought along wouldnt be quite enough. She would have to wait to see what Majestrix Nox had planned. She looked up, smiling at Feles's words, then blinked a little. Was that really Lupinus? He had grown as she had, and she silently appraised him from the back as her position only gave her that view. Angua von Uberwald Lupinus bared his teeth in a grin. "I'm certain I can acquire a suitable costume," he said. "We will not fail." Indeed, why should the Sun Court suspect anything, he thought. Yes, especially if he had a child with them, for who would think anything was wrong with a small child and his kithain?
He fell silent to hear what their goal was, his mind running over ideas for a disguise as he waited. O-Ren~Ishii Spina listened, in a sence she did care, but not at the moment. Her light blues eyes following each speaker. There was no real suspence, there were few things they would do and each one as she thought about it raised her mood. What she really wanted to do was leave, then let them babble and bicker, going on about this Masquerade Ball. She would wear what she wished, the only thing she worried about hiding were her wings. Her eyes slowly came upon Nox agian as she opened her mouth to speak.
"Whatever you wish my Majestrix..." she replied to her earlier comment, she looked down slight, to bow. But really she had nothing to say. Their plans were not hers. Sajhiri Nox's smile deepened to something extremely sinister. "Very good. Then once we've all slipped in and mingled, we need to determine the strength of their forces and locate our target." She paused in her pacing and turned to face the rest.
"It is time we return to the traditions and lifeblood of our ancestors. The rites we followed before foolish pacts and treaties were made with the Sin Court. It is our right to feed off the dreams and emotions of the lesser beings. We must build our strength by draining mankind of it's joy, of bringing the Autumn to their springtime. We were once the Autumn people, we shall be such again."
She turned her eyes towards the night sky painted on the ceiling of the chamber. "There is a Kithain named Neith, and she has birth twin daughters. They shall, no doubt, be present. There is one full of life, the other reeks of death. The one full of life we shall steal away and return here, where we shall enact the dance once more, to drain away her dreams and joy and feed off of it." Sayuri_Nitta Aranea had not spoken at first after Nox out lined her plan. No her quick mind was mentally filing through all she had learned of different chemicals - and she knew of one such liquid that would probably do the trick; 'Laudanum,' she said, the sound of her own voice startling her as it rang out amonngst a break in the conversation. She made a bow to the Majestrix; 'Laudanum is a painkiller, but given in the right dosage it tires the person who takes it, makes them less alert, and I dare say make them subscetible to easily being confused. It contains opium however, and I will need to make some of that first.' Youkochylde Feles smirked then, the gesture seemingly unfitting for a child... but perfect on him. He looked up to Lupinus, nodding softly. "Fes help," he said simply, already trying to figure out what he could do to disguise himself. He'd leave that up to the stupid fox. THAT one could come up with something that would probably make him want to puke... but would be good for mingling with the Sun Court. Angua von Uberwald Lupinus thought quickly as Nox outlined her plan. Yes, their court would be strong once more. Stealing away a child from under the noses of the Sun Court would likely be somewhat difficult, he mused, though their senses would be muddled. "Are there any specific plans set for stealing away this child yet, Majestrix?" he asked. Another thought came to him, and he added, "Shall our Kithain be of any use in this endeavor, or is it best to leave them here?" He couldn't think of what good their Kithain could be, but perhaps they'd be good for something... for a change. Sajhiri Nox looked towards Lupinus at his question. "We will steal the child away from under their muddle noses, and we will depart through the woods rather than by flight. They may be so confused as to not entirely realize who we are or what has happened, and departure by land will confuse that further. That is all for now...you are all dismissed, plan for your costumes to disguise your wings and your features." With a wave of her hand, the Majestrix indicates they may leave. Sayuri_Nitta Aranea listened quietly, thinking that maybe her own Kithain might be of some small use. She knew many people through her own offspring; maybe one of them would be this 'Neith' the Majestrix had spoken of. She would have to extract the information without alarming her Kithain who would no doubt do the noble thing and alert Neith. Her eyes raked over the gathered Fey, alighting on Lupinus once more. She wondered if his transformation had been as painful as hers and she made up her mind to speak with him, drifting slowly towards him before he left. Youkochylde Nodding softly, Feles toddled off, already plotting as best he could. The fox kithain was generally useless, but he DID have his good points. Being a craftsy person was one of those good points, and he would likely have something to add to any costume idea. While Feles would tell him that he had to be hidden, he wouldn't tell the Kithain WHY. Angua von Uberwald Lupinus said no more as the Majestrix dismissed her court. Yes, ground flight would certainly confuse the Sun Court. Their plan was as near foolproof as a plan could be, he thought. He turned toward the door, but saw Aranea approaching. He looked away, then back at her, waiting; what could she want? He'd hoped to head back to his rooms, to make his plans. Well, perhaps she had something interesting to say. He nodded slightly to show he was waiting for her. Sayuri_Nitta 'And do you always take flight whenever a female comes near you?' she asked, her voice low and teasing. Her eyes flickered over his newly grown form once again; she smiled, a slight seductive curve to her crimson lips. A hand rested at the base of her neck, then flicked her hair behind a shoulder. 'I jest of course,' she waved her hand, her wings fluttering a little and then coming to a rest. 'I came to ask if you had the chance yet to test the toxins I had given you. I had not heard anything from you after all.' Angua von Uberwald Lupinus raised an eyebrow, half-smiling. "I suppose that depends on the female," he replied blandly. "I thought to begin my preparations, but there is no urgency." He held up a neatly folded piece of parchment. "I did have the opportunity to perform some tests.
"These are my notes, in as much detail as I could manage. The poison kills smaller animals, such as rabbits, quite quickly; one coating suffices. For larger, one coating is not enough. If administered in small enough measures over time, it gives the impression of a lasting illness, though I did not have time to properly test that particular use."
He unfolded the paper and held it out to her. "The paralysis work quite well on animals and others. The times are recorded here." His gaze fell on the departing Feles briefly, and he said, somewhat amused, "You seemed rather charmed by that little one." Sayuri_Nitta Aranea took the proffered piece of parchment, sliding it under the edge of her dress where it rested against her skin and scratched at her a little. 'I thank you - this will be most helpful to me.' a small smile spread on her face. Her eyes followed Feles's small retreating form and she was brought back by Lupinus's words. Was she so transparent? 'I did not think anyone would notice. I,' she used her words carefully, not knowing yet if she should admit to what might be though of as a weakness. 'I do like him. He has pledged to help me with my research, and is determined to better himself even at his young age to help me in my work. I appreciate his drive.' she fidgeted with her hair. 'Do you find this odd of me then?' Angua von Uberwald Lupinus shrugged. "It was mostly a guess, drawn from how often you watched him today," he said. "I admit that I find it perhaps a bit odd. But he does seem to have... drive, as you say, and that is promising."
He motioned to indicate her new height. "And how long have you been-changed?" he asked. Sayuri_Nitta 'Not very long,' she said. 'A few weeks or so now I guess,' she shrugged a little. 'It doesnt seem like I've been any other way now though. But the transformation was not easy. I felt like I was ill.' she looked at him. 'You? Was it uncomfortable for you to change?' Angua von Uberwald "Yes, I did get used to it rather quickly," he agreed absently. His tail twitched as he thought back to the sudden, immense pain of his transformation- it had come at a most inopportune time; he'd have preferred not to have witnesses. But there was no need for Aranea to know... "And yes, it was... somewhat uncomfortable." Sayuri_Nitta Aranea nodded; 'Well you look very...well,' she said simply, her face giving nothing away - or so she hoped. Her eyes lowered a little, and she turned her head, watching as the rest of the Court filed out. 'I must go.' she said, loking at him again. 'I have much to do - the laudanum will take time to make, and I must not fail the Majestrix.' she touched him lightly on his left arm. 'I shall see you sometime soon no doubt,' she said, making as to leave. Angua von Uberwald "As do you," he said. "And I must go as well; there is much to be done before we leave." He paused, then added, "You won't fail." He was sure she wouldn't, sure none of them would. They were all doing their best to meet the expectations of the Majestrix, and he had no doubt they would succeed. "Yes, I'm sure I'll see you soon," he said as she turned to leave.

I have much to do and little time to do it in. I have time to scribble a little bit in my journal however, as I wait for my Kithain to turn up. The meeting was short, but important; our time to move against the Sun Court has come, and the Majestrix outlined her daring plan. It has been decided that Lupinus and Feles (for that is the feline Fey's true name! I guess he could not pronounce his name when we first met), would go there first and lace the drink with my concoction. Once they have consumed some, the rest of us should attend, disguised of course. Our true purpose, Nox revealed, was not only to let the weakling Sun Court know of our presence but to steal away a child, a Kithain's child no less. It is a delicous plan to be sure; and what will Nox do with the child?
Aranea put down her quill, closing the ink bottle as she heard a knock at the door. About time, she thought, standing and going to open her chamber door. Sayuri stood there, an ingratiating smile on her face; 'How good to see you,' she said to the Fey. Aranea frowned. 'You are not here for pleasantries woman,' she snapped. Sayuri recoiled a little; the spider Fey had gotten worse - her behaviour towards her Kithain had become colder and more forceful. She had to put up with it though - she was bound to the girl. Aranea picked up a piece of parchment on which she had written ingredients that she knew that she wouldnt be able to find in Tir Nan Og. 'I need these quickly.' she stated. 'And a costume - something that will conceal that I have four arms.' she ordered, hustling Sayuri out of her chambers and locking the door behind them. She motioned that Sayuri could leave, and went immediately to her laboratory, where she stayed for several hours..

Aranea rubbed her eyes, pushing herself up, and looking at the glass flask. She was pretty sure that she had the solution right; she had tested the first attempts on herself. Both had given her a pleasant feeling of lightheadedness, but it had not lasted long enough to be of help. This one had followed the recipe she had finally found - a very old slip of parchment she had found inside a book on herbs;
Take of Thebane Opium extracted in spirit of Wine, one ounce, Saffron alike extracted, a dram and an half, Castorium one dram: let them be taken in tincture of half an ounce of species Diambræ newly made in spirit of Wine, add to them Ambergris, Musk, of each six grains, oil of Nutmegs ten drops, evaporate the moisture away in a bath, and leave the mass.
..and now she felt the mixture was strong enough. Unfortunately she had no more time to test it; the day was drawing to a close and she could not go to the Sun Court with muddled senses. Neither did she have time to summon her Kithain. No, she would just have to trust her skills.

Aranea woke slowly, sliding out of bed. She splashed her face with cold water from a jug and then went over to the table where the garment box from Sayuri was sat. She opened it, pulling out the heavy, folded kimono and underclothes. Her Kithain had told her that it was traditional not to wear any under things below a kimono; just a tied slip called a koshimake. She shrugged, removing her own dress and tying the slip on. The kimono was next, and she tugged it on, drooping a little under the materials heavy weight. The obi belt wasnt a traditional one, it was a modern version with clasps, and she secured them, twisting it a little, and smoothing down the line of the kimono, before moving in front of her mirror, and checking to see if she was covered properly. Her wings were under the kimono and were a little uncomfortable, but her arms were hidden and that was the main thing. She left her hair down, and picking up the mask, she held it against her face. It covered it completely, and her crimson eyes stared out of the visage of a Geisha. It was time to go, before she did she strapped on a small leather garter-like item around one thigh. She slid several vials into the slots on it, and then let her kimono fall again, covering her legs once more. And then she left, hurrying to get to the Sun Court's Great Hall.

The Majestrix's plan worked perfectly. Feles played his part to perfection (as I knew he would - I had complete faith in him. Even if he may not have had in himself). The girl is with us now, and what happens now I do not know. I know we are to keep her happy, but beyond that I am uncertain. We were aided in our flight by large wolf like creatures. They seem to be loyal to the Moon Court. I had not seen them before this time, but I wonder if they were what Lupinus was sent to find? Maybe. I would have to ask him.
I'm not entirely sure how I will react to having to be nice to this child. Winny or something I believe she is called. I have sent for my Kithain. If I am to be nice, then maybe a gift would work better then words. I dont know how long I could speak lighthearted falsehoods to this 'child of good'. I would prefer to test some of my toxins on her and see how long it takes for her to die. But I can not. This however reminds me. I need to check the traps. My last animal subject died before the Ball. I will have to hope something has been caught.

Quote: Sayuri_Nitta Aranea crossed the grounds, a stone bowl in two of her arms. She had run out of fresh water, and fresh air after a combination had gone slightly awry, and as she neared the stream she happened to catch a glimpse of white fur out of the corner of her eye. Her lips curved into a smile, and she looked over properly. What was he doing to that tree? She put the bowl down by the stream and walked over to the Fey. Youkochylde Feles let his claws tear at the bark, the tiny Fey growling as he attacked the tree with all the pent-up frustration he'd felt during that whole stupid ball. Hopefully now that the brat was here and someone ELSE was dealing with her, he could go back to his books. He liked helping... he enjoyed being part of Nox's plan. But one couldn't change their own preferences, and he much preferred being in the Castle to being out of it. Now, however, he was feeling his own anger start to subside, as well as the aching skin on his face, and the cat moved to drop onto the grass, sprawling out on it and nearly purring at the feel of the cool ground against his skin. Sayuri_Nitta She silently watched as Feles attacked the tree. She understood frustration - and wanting to release it. She normally just poisoned something small and furry herself however. She walked right over to him; 'Hello Feles,' she said softly, looking down as he stretched out on the ground. Youkochylde The boy's tail tapped idly against the ground, swishing in the grass as he smiled up at the girl. He liked HER. 'Nea knew all kinds of things and likely hated having to 'play nice' just as much as he did. "Hi, Nea," he said softly, sitting up and nodding to her politely. There were few that he would go out of his way to be nice to... Aranea was one of them. Sayuri_Nitta She lowered herself onto the ground next to him, wriggling her toes in the grass. The blades tickled her feet a little. 'What are you doing out here?' she asked, leaning her chin on two of her hands, elbows on her knees. Youkochylde "Wrecking tree," he said simply, pointing to the barkless section with a proud grin. "Wanted to scratch kifain, but he fast." He sat up then, looking to Aranea as his tail swished behind him idly. "Stupid rainbows." The scowl reappeared then as he caught sight of a reddish purple lock of hair that fell over his shoulder. This stuff had BETTER wash out soon... Sayuri_Nitta She let out a tiny giggle, then stifled it, making her face look solemn again; 'Yes you will look better once that dye stuff has gone.' she mused. There was probably a herbal wash she could come up with that would help get rid of it. She didnt just make poisons - there was this small girly side of her that had made scents, bath oils and shampoos with her alchemical knowledge. But this was something she kept completely to herself. 'Are you out here to avoid the girl?' she asked, looking at him shrewdly. Youkochylde "Stupid girl," he answered, with as much loathing as he'd used to speak of the rainbows. While he didn't really MIND the girl herself, he'd hated having to be a simpering little idiot at the ball to get her attention and get her to follow him. That, in his mind, was just as bad as the costume Youko had made for him. He kicked out one foot, claws scuffing at the ground as his ears pinned back against his head. "Girls stink." As if realising a moment too late who he was talking to, Feles lifted his gaze to her then, adding quickly. "Cept 'Nea. Nea doesn't stink." Sayuri_Nitta She laughed; 'Oh I'm so pleased that I dont 'stink', she leaned closer to him, and touched the end of his nose quickly, before moving away again. She guessed that this stance against the opposite sex was something to do with age. She thought males were loud and smelly when she was younger as she recalled. Now...well it wasnt something to dwell on around Feles. She nodded; 'Its hard to keep up a 'good' facade around the girl,' she agreed. 'I had to leave the room.' Youkochylde Sticking out his tongue slightly, Feles showed just what he thought about having to be 'good'. "Had to do that at dance. Smile, be nice, act silly..." Feles put on the 'Oh-I'm-so-cute' look that he'd perfected just for the Masquerade ball, then snarled a moment later. "Liked the dogs, though..." he added, remembering the wolves that had come to assist them. Now THEY were the highlight of the night for him. Sayuri_Nitta She laughed again, smiling a little. Feles had a knack for making her smile; maybe it was weak of her, but she liked his company. She nodded; 'I imagine you would. They give off such a feeling of power. Their presence serves to make us stronger.' her eyes glinted. 'I was lucky...I only had to observe during the Ball. The nearness of so much 'good' was hard to bear though.'Youkochylde "Lucky." The scowl returned as the cat crossed his arms over his chest and seemed to pout. "Had to smile and be nice... was fun to see them acting drugged." He grinned then, moving and hugging Aranea. "Nea did good with drug." A typical cat, for hte most part. Feles didn't MIND contact... he just wanted it on HIS terms, not the terms of his idiot Kithain who wanted to snuggle him constantly. Sayuri_Nitta The spider fey stiffened slightly when Feles hugged her, but it was a mere second and then she returned it, placing two hands on his back lightly. His fur tickled where it touched her skin, and she smiled yet again. 'And you did well too - I am proud of you and I am sure the Majestrix is too.' she relaxed her hold, letting her arms go loose so that he could pull away if he wished. Youkochylde That made Feles beam, his chest puffing slightly with pride. He did well! And if even the Majestrix knew, then he'd REALLY done well. "Thanks..." he whispered, moving back to lay in the grass again, his tail tapping back and forth idly. "Didn't want to screw up." Sayuri_Nitta 'Why would you think you would?' she inquired softly, touching the ground to see whether it was cold or damp before reclining herself on the grass. She propped her head up, resting it on her hand, her elbows being tickled by the grass. She pulled up blades, tugging each on from the soil before letting it go again. Youkochylde Shrugging, Feles looked down at himself then at Aranea. "Fes still small. Can't do lots yet." As if that explained it all. Youko coddled him, treating him as if he were an infant. He knew he could do so much more, but his body wasn't quite keeping up with him yet. Sayuri_Nitta 'But if you were older, and bigger then it wouldnt have worked. Your size helped with the mission. She probably wouldnt have beeen half as easy to lure away if you weren't similar in size to her.' she looked at him, her mouth quirking up in a faint smile. 'You can do enough. Don't let anyone put you down - or they will answer to me,' and she bared her white teeth, flexing her fingers, her talon-like nails glinting a little. Youkochylde Grinning, Feles nodded. 'Nea had a point... the reason the girl had gone with him was because she wanted to play. And he HAD been around her size, which is why no one suspected him. No doubt, the girl's mother would have taken note if her daughter had been talking to an adult and gone off with them... "Okay, 'Nea," he said, tail waving slightly before draping across his lap. "But when Fes bigger, I help you with stuff." Sayuri_Nitta She nodded; 'I remember - in the library. You said you would help me with my research. I havent forgotten, and I will gladly accept your help when you are ready to give it.' She plucked a sliver of bark from the ground, debris from where he had attacked the tree. 'But enjoy who are you are for now. Remember - you can get away with so much more as a child.' she grinned, and she sprinkled a load of grass in his lap. Youkochylde Grinning, Feles watched the grass fall in a rain from her fingertips and held out his hands to catch some of it and fling it back up into the air. "Little is good sometimes," he said, eyes sparkling as he looked up at the falling blades of green. "Can sneak into stuff." He was about to say more, but then the clouds parted and the sun came out, catching the boy with his gaze upturned. He let out a shriek of pain as he looked away quickly, covering his eyes. Gods, that had HURT! He knew his eyes were sensitive, but Youko had always been careful to keep him out of the sun during the day. Now, he was beginning to see why. He blinked several times, tears falling from his eyes before the throbbing finally started to go away. "Should go inside," he whispered, not liking the sunlight at ALL. Sayuri_Nitta The sun warmed the top of her head, but Feles' sudden cry of agony chilled her. 'What's wrong?' she asked, looking him over. He didnt seem hurt, except for his eyes that looked reddened and were watering. 'Hey..' she said softly, putting her arms around him. She was oh so glad that no one else was around to see this side of her. Youkochylde "Sun hurts," he whimpered, trying to pull his hair over his shoulder and nearly hide beneath Aranea's arms and wings from the light. "Too pale... kifain says that sun hurts people like me." NOW he knew why. As he curled against Aranea, Feles looked as his arm near hers. Even though Aranea was pale, she at least had colour to her skin. He had none. His own skin was pure alabaster white, the same as his hair and tail. He had seen his own reflection in the mirror enough times to know that his eyes were a pale red, completely unlike anyone else's. Sayuri_Nitta 'You want to go inside?' she asked, standing and still holding onto the cat Fey. His skin was very pale...paler then hers and she wondered why she had not noticed this before. Possibly due to the lighting within the Castellum. She draped her hair, leaning a little so that it created a curtain like affect over the boy, affording a small amount of shade. She would collect her water later if he did want to go inside now. Youkochylde "Please," he said softly, moving along with her and padding along the grass as they moved back towards the castle. He kept his eyes almost squinted shut, not wanting to feel them hurt again, and didn't open them until they were inside and the door was closed. Once inside, he turned and looked back towards the door, frowning softly. Whatever he was thinking, he kept it to himself, hating the fact that everyone ELSE could go around and do what they wanted... but because of his accursed body, he couldn't. Sayuri_Nitta Blinking a little to rid herself of the sunspots in her eyes, she looked down at Feles in the gloom of the inside. 'Are you okay?' he probably wasnt - and, knowing him as much as she did he might not even answer but she asked anyway. Youkochylde He nodded softly in reply, scowling slightly at himself and his reacitons. Way to look like an idiot... "Fine," he whispered, turning away from the door and looking around the inside of the room. This was why he liked nighttime. At least then, he could be outside and not have to worry about anything. He'd come back out tonight... and all would be good. Sayuri_Nitta 'What do you want to do now?' she asked him, deftly changing the subject. She wasnt at all sure the air in her lab would have cleared yet or she would have shown him that Youkochylde "Dunno," he replied, tail waving behind him as he clasped his hands behind his back and looked up at Aranea. "Should go sleep soon, I fink..." He knew he'd be getting tired soon... the cat usually slept during the noontime and afternoon hours, using that excuse to be up all night. He looked up at her then, smiling faintly. "Nea be around tonight?" Sayuri_Nitta 'If you want to go sleep that's okay,' she said, kneeling down to his height. 'I have things to do in my lab. Potions to brew.' she grinned a little. 'You can find me later if you want. I'm sure I will still be down there when you wake up later.' Youkochylde Smiling, Feles leaned to hug her tightly, nuzzling against her cheek before stepping back. "Okay, 'Nea," he said, tail swishing from side to side. "I come see you when I get up." With that, he darted off, a little white blur of fur heading up the stairs towards his own room.

I'm not sure whether I should even put this down in words - that could be used against me. I know that we bond together to further the interests of our Court, but do we ever really trust one another? Lupinus thought it odd of me that I like Feles. I confess I dont know whether my affection for the child weakens me. He charms me, and I strive to look out for him. When the sun hurt him when we were outside, his pain caused me pain. It is difficult to know what to do. I do not feel I can tell the Majestrix of this.
Of a note, my stocks of poisons and toxins are at a high. I have worked hard, and I now possess a great deal of deadly weapons for our disposal. But still I toil. I know there are poisons that tear through a person, but do not leave a mark. No one would ever know how the person died. There are some that leave no taint, so that the person ingesting them does not even know they are being poisoned. But I need help in this. I have fallen asleep in the library so many times. I hope that Feles will remember his promise when he grows.

Feles Grows!Quote: Youkochylde True to his word, Feles DID eventually wind up down at Aranea's chambers when he woke up. Unfortunately, it wasn't that evening... it was the next. He wasn't sure just WHY he'd slept so long, but Youko had been frantic when he finally did wake, saying that he'd TRIED to wake up the cat a few times without success. Feles attributed it to a natural defense reaction. If he was asleep, he didn't have to listen to the innane mewling of the stupid fox. He had the spider plushie cradled under one arm as he stood up on his toes and knocked softly. "Nea?" he asked, his voice echoing a bit in the hall. "You dere?" Sayuri_Nitta Aranea was seated at her desk when the knock at the door came. There was pieces of old parchment spread out on the wood in front of her, an open bottle of ink and a well used quill which she was tapping against her open notebook. She pushed the hair from her face from where she had been hunched over the pale, olde style writing and rubbed her eyes. She listened, and a soft smile broke on her face. 'Gah!' she muttered. What was wrong with her? Why did she like the little Fey so much? Mystery - feelings...maybe her Kithain could be of some use some day soon. Help her sort out why they were something she couldnt control. Anyway this wasnt getting the door opened and she stood, pushing the chair back, its feet scraping on the stone floor. She moved over to her chamber door, turning the iron handle and tugged it open. 'Hi Feles,' she said, looking down at the feline. Who was holding the plushie she had gotten him! She smiled, still inwardly cursing her ability to not be all soft over him. Youkochylde Grinning, Feles looked up at her, bowing politely. "Hi 'Nea," he said, tail swishing behind himself as he paused at the threshold. "Fes come in?" he asked, not wanting to intrude unless he was wanted in there. For all he knew, Aranea could have been working on something important. Tiny needle-like claws kneaded into the fabric of the plushie, Feles holding it tightly in his arms as he shifted his weight from one foot to the other. It wasn't until he'd gotten permission to enter that he finally stepped in and took his first look around the other Fey's room. Sayuri_Nitta 'Sure' she said, waiting for him to enter, before closing the door again. She moved over to her bed, sitting and sinking a little into the soft covers, crossing her legs and looking at the little Fey. 'So who are you avoiding today?' she teased a little. Youkochylde "Kifain," he replied, ears pinning back as he crawled up onto the end of the bed to sit cross-legged with the plushie in his lap. "Fes slept since yesterday. Kifain being a pain when I woke up." He shrugged faintly, this news obviously not bothering HIM any. "Dunno, maybe needed sleep." He looked up at her then and smiled, tilting his head to the side as his ears pricked up. "Came here 'cause 'Nea doesn't treat me like baby." Sayuri_Nitta 'You okay apart from that?' she asked. There wasnt anything wrong with showing concern, she told herself. After all with her skills she was the closest they had to a physician of any sort. Maybe his time in the sun had done more then he had let on. 'Well you are hardly a baby,' she chuckled. 'I dont think babies attack trees the way you do,' she smirked. Youkochylde "Felt funny before I went to sleep. Still feel funny, but not bad." And it wasn't bad, really... it was just like a nagging sensation in the back of his mind that wouldn't go away. Kind of like a fly buzzing around your head that just wouldn't go away. One ear flicked idly, as if giving response to that analogy, and Feles looked to Aranea with a slight frown. "Don't feel sick... just feel jumpy today. Nothing wrong, right?" Sayuri_Nitta 'Well you dont really look sick' she said reassuringly. She reached over with a hand, moving so as not to alarm him and pressed her fingers on his forehead. It felt a little warm, but not overly so. Maybe...but she could also be wrong. It could affect them each differently. She had felt awful; 'There might be something that would cause you to feel different.' she said. Youkochylde "Like what?" he started to ask before the pale boy lost what little colour he had in his face and the pink eyes went wide. "N-nea..." he stammered, clutching the plushie tightly. "Don't feel good..." The cat's tail wrapped around his waist tightly, his body huddling in a ball as he clung to the plushie as if it were a lifeline. Something was wrong. REALLY wrong. Both ears were pricked upward and his tail was fluffed as he suddenly got the indescribeable feeling that SOMETHING was going on. Sayuri_Nitta Her eyes rounded slightly and she nodded; 'Its okay Feles...I think you are changing - growing. It happened with me, and it feels bad and weird for a bit but it will go..' she patted his back awkwardly, trying to comfort him. 'You'll be bigger - like me..' Youkochylde A soft, plaintive mewl left Feles throat as he curled into a ball, shaking on the end of the bed. The moment the glow started to surround him, he let out a shriek, batting at it, trying to claw at it, ANYTHING to make it get OFF of him! "NEA!!" His voice was nearly a wail as he tried to dart away from it, only to collapse in a heap on the bed, gasping for breath as the pain hit. An ear-piercing yowl filled the room as the cat was consumed by the glow, Feles winding himself into a tight ball with his hands curled around his head. It didn't last too terribly long... but to Feles it seemed to last forever, the cat gasping for breath by the time the light cleared. The tunic he'd been wearing was now shredded and it was hard to determine if it was because of hte change or from his efforts at trying to free himself from the glow that had surrounded him. Where a three-year old had once been, now a teen lay, longer legs curled tightly against his chest and the plumed tail draped over him like a blanket. His hair had grown, the silken silver trailing down his back and haloing around him on the coverlet in soft waves. The white ears were pinned back, the boy's entire body trembling as he tried to recover. Sayuri_Nitta The light consumed him, and Aranea recognised it. It was cruel...he was growing fast - becoming bigger as he wanted but the process was obviously hurting his eyes; 'It will pass, it will pass,' she said, and as the words slipping from her mouth it did indeed dissipate slowly. And there he was, bigger, much bigger, and his hair was a wonder to her. She scooted closer on the bed, careful not to brush against him yet, then she laid a hand on his shoulder. 'Feles..' she breathed. 'Its over.. you..you should see yourself,' she coloured, because she could see him.. Youkochylde One hand came up, clinging to hers tightly as the other stayed wrapped around the plushie that was now dwarfed by the boy instead of being nearly the size of his head. He was scared, that much was obvious, and his eyes were still not adjusted from the light that had enveloped him. Feles blinked a few times, trying to get the spots to go away as he looked up at Aranea... who had shrunk? No... she was saying that he had grown. Looking at his hand covering hers, he could see that it was true, and he slowly and shakily moved to sit up, wincing when he felt his hair fall across his back. Everything seemed so much more intense... from touch to sound to light. "Nea..." he whispered, blinking as he heard his own voice. It was slightly deeper, but still not something anyone would call so. It wasn't as deep as Lupinus' voice, or any of hte Sun Court Fey that he'd heard at the ball that night. Still, it was different to him, and he made a few testing sounds as if making sure it WAS really his. A bewildered look to Aranea followed then, and he seemed to register what she was saying. The cat's gaze went to the mirror and he slowly slid from the bed, leaving the remnants of his tunic behind as he unsteadily got to his feet and moved to pad over in front of the mirror. Sayuri_Nitta 'I'm here,' she said, patting the top of his now larger hand with another of hers. 'It is you,' she said, feeling the rising heat in her cheeks. She was blushing, and badly. He was virtually naked! His clothing shredded during his change covered little. He let go of her hand, leaving her side and the bed and went to the mirror..and oh my...she looked away again, staring at the ceiling. She looked at him, but secured her gaze on the back of his head, and slid from the bed herself. 'You okay?' she managed. Youkochylde The pointed ears swivelled back at the sound of her moving and Feles turned to watch her approach. He still seemed unsure of himself, but was getting better... the tables weren't taller than he was anymore! And part of him was betting that he could now reach the books on the top shelves of the library. "I... I think I'm alright," he said, forming the words carefully as he got a better grasp of himself. "This is just very strange to me..." His words trailed off as he turned his head towards the mirror again, looking over every aspect of his new body. It had hurt... but in a way, it was worth it. He wasn't tiny anymore. He wasn't a 'baby' anymore. NOW maybe his Kithain would realise that he didn't need to be coddled. Sayuri_Nitta Aranea had managed to keep her eyes locked on Feles's head. Until he turned around that was. Her gaze moved down, and then back up. And then back down again as if she had no control over her eyes! She slapped a hand on her face, covering her vision. 'Yeah...err it is strange at first..' she stammered. Youkochylde "Are YOU alright?" he asked in concern, seeing the motion and wondering if this had given Aranea as much of a headache as it seemed to be producing in him. Then he noticed the blush and glanced back at himself in the mirror. Oh. Well, that would explain things. What was left of his tunic was on the bed and he was standing here, bare as a newborn. While HE didn't think it was too much of a big deal, he DID remember Youko telling him that most people didn't walk around in the nude. "I... should probably go and find clothes," he said, ears dropping slightly. He didn't know where he WOULD find anything... all of his clothes were for a child. Youko might be able to help, at least. He moved to scoop up the spider plushie again, and what was left of his tunic, then turned back to Aranea with his gaze lowered. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you." Sayuri_Nitta 'I'm fine!' she exclaimed, too loud it sounded to her ears. She tried again, taking her hand away from her eyes. 'I am fine.' she looked at him, and smiled. Ignore whats uncovered and look at his face! she yelled at herself. He is your friend after all. And she had hurt him with her reaction; 'No!' she said suddenly. 'I mean - you dont have to go. Please,' she went over to her bed, pulling off the top sheet. 'Use this, but dont go if you dont want to.' she moved closer to him, holding the sheet out. Youkochylde Smiling, Feles took the sheet and wrapped it around himself as best he could. Damned tail... kept getting in the way. Finally, he just tied it aroudn his waist, letting his tail drape over the top of the fabric in the back, since it was rather uncomfortable to have it pinned beneath. "Thank you," he whispered, his voice still as soft a tone as it always had been. Even now, the cat seemed to hate extremes, be it from light, sound or anything else. He moved to sit on the bed again, looking down at the fabric scraps and the plushie in his hands, his tail curling behind him on the bed to tap the end of it lightly against the coverlet. That led to him oustretching one arm, his hand flexing experimentally. Yep, it was still attached and still his. It just looked different. The tiny claws that had been at the ends of his fingers and toes were now wickedly sharp, and a bit longer than they had been. He wasn't certain if the sharpness was from his activities with the tree, or because of the growing. "Do I look alright?" he asked, murmuring faintly as he watched his own movements in fascination. Sayuri_Nitta She felt a measure of relief...but also disappointment. The view had been a good one. She sat down next to him. When he stretched out a hand, and looked at his claws, she tapped the skin lightly with her own sharp nails. 'Longer then mine now,' she grinned. 'You could do some damage with those.' she took a while to answer his question, her eyes looking at him properly, and she licked her lips unconsciously. 'You look...very good,' she said huskily. She took her hand away, putting them on her lap again. She let out a breath, gathering her thoughts. Youkochylde Feles turned to face her, head tilted slightly as he regarded her curiously. "Are you sure you're alright?" he asked, tail twisting behind him nervously as he watched her. She seemed... distracted almost. Instinctively, he looked down to make sure the sheet was covering him fully. "I'm sorry about that... Half the time, I forget about clothes unless my Kithain catches me and puts them on me himself before I go out wandering." Sayuri_Nitta She nodded, startled from her reverie; 'I'm okay, really,' she said. 'It was a bit of a shock to see...umm..you.' she finished lamely. 'So can you say my name properly now?' she snickered softly. Youkochylde Now it was his turn to blush. A faint smile crossed his face as he dipped his head forward slightly. "Aranea," he said faintly, reaching to clasp his hand over hers for a moment. "Thanks for dealing with me... I couldn't even say my OWN name half the time." Much as he had when he was a child, Feles still enjoyed others' company... on HIS terms. Aranea was one of the few whose company he enjoyed no matter his mood, and he was grateful that she'd been there for this traumatizing experience. He couldn't think of any way to express his gratitude, and 'thank you' seemed to not be enough. So he did as he had a few days previously, leaning over to nuzzle against her cheek with his own, a soft purr coming from his throat. Sayuri_Nitta 'I wasnt dealing with you...I only stay in the company of people I like,' she said. 'So it wasnt a hardship for me,' she was surprised at her words but it was true. 'So you can help me with my research no...' she started to say, then stopped in surprise. What was he doing!? It was....nice. His skin was warm against hers, and her heart was thudding a little. But why? What was different from when he was a child and she held him? But that was it wasnt it - he wasnt a child, he was alot older and his body was too. 'I ..your welcome,' she said. Youkochylde And just like that, his train of thought was shifted. Sitting up again, he smiled, nodding to her. "I can help now..." he said, his mind going over everything he COULD do now. "I can ever reach the books on my own." A wry smirk crossed his lips as both ears pricked forward. "I've been practicing reading, I just couldn't speak well enough to get my point across before." Sayuri_Nitta She nodded; 'Its okay. I said I would wait until you were able to help me properly.' she motioned to her desk. 'I really could do without straining my eyes on fading parchment, and getting high on failed experiment fumes all in one day,' she grinned at him. 'You speak very well now.' and he looks good too, sang the tiny wicked voice that had popped into her head ever since he had grown. Youkochylde The slender youth got to his feet, moving to the desk and letting his hands rest on it as he leaned over to look at the notes. "I can help.. just tell me what you need for me to do." Feles had spent most of his existance around books... even in the past, they'd been his lifeline when no one else wanted to be around him. Part of him remembered... and he snarled inwardly at how he'd been treated by the two people who were SUPPOSED to have cared about him. His parents had locked him away from the time he was born, and now he was finally able to fulfill that craving of companionship. He stopped when he felt his claws digging against the wooden top of the desk, and cleared his throat faintly as he schooled his expression out of the anger he could feel rising. "Between the library, your books and my own, we should be able to find out just about anything. If that fails, I'll send my Kithain to get what we need." Sayuri_Nitta She followed him to the desk. 'I just need someone to find old recipes, information on herbs, and chemicals. I tend to experiment alot...' she admitted. 'But well I have knocked myself unconscious a few times by accident.' she chuckled. 'I'd prefer to have notes to go by for some of the more potent mixtures. And like I said, this written language isnt easy for me to read.' she touched his arm. 'Did my desk offend you?' she asked delicately, noticing the score marks. Youkochylde He listened, nodding... perhaps he'd be able to help. At her question, however, he pulled his hands back, one rubbing at the wrist of the other. "Sorry. Just memories coming back..." as if that explained it all, he turned to her then, his expression normal once more. "Perhaps I can rewrite the notes so that they'll be more legible?" Sayuri_Nitta Well she wouldnt press for now; they obviously werent good memories. She touched his arm nearest to her lightly. 'I would appreciate that very much Feles,' she said. 'But if you need time - it doesnt need to be done this second. I'm still working on some poisons from notes that Lupinus gave me.' Youkochylde "The sooner I can stop being dead weight around here, the better," he said, smiling to her and not moving away from the touch on his arm. He liked contact... he just didn't like it when he didn't want it. Right now, everything felt new to him, and things were presenting themselves with new insights. Like the way Aranea's mouth quirked slightly when she smiled. Why hadn't he noticed that before? One hand reached up, and without so much as a by-your-leave, he let his claws catch a few strands of hair that had fallen over her face, tucking them behind her ear. "Just let me take the ones that you want transcribed.... I'll work on them and have them back to you by tomorrow." Sayuri_Nitta Nodding, she gathered up the wrinkled sheets that she had been trying to make head or tail of. His gentle touch had surprised her, and also elicited a tiny shiver. How odd. Holding the small stack in two hands she straightened. 'You were never dead weight. Remember the child we have. And remember who bought her here.' she squeezed his arm with a free hand. 'You are Moon Court - and like us all, you've played your part since you were freed.' she smiled - that was becoming a habit around him. 'I guess..you need to go get something other then a sheet on now huh?' she asked. Youkochylde The flush returned as he looked down. "I suppose I should. I don't care one way or another, but others might have something to say about it." He took the papers from her gratefully, making a mental note to send Youko for paper, a quill and ink. "I'll have these to you as soon as I finish them." He lifted his gaze then, smiling in return. It seemed to be infectious around him. "Thank you for all of your help." He turned back to the bed then, scooping up the rest of his things. Sayuri_Nitta 'No rush remember?' she chuckled, feeling something strange. She didnt want him to go! But he had to. She moved over to her bed, and touched him on the shoulder lightly; 'You've forgotten something,' she said, her cheeks red but feeling a boldness. She hoped her calculation wasnt wrong - that he wouldnt hate her for what she was about to do. It was another experiment - and she did like those. Youkochylde "I did?" Feles' ears went up then and he looked around. Papers... plushie... cloth scraps... what else was there? He blinked at her then, one ear falling to the side in confusion. "What did I forget?" Sayuri_Nitta Hand on his arm, another hand gently ran fingers through the softness that was his hair. And she leaned in, pressing her lips softly on his cheek. She wasnt sure enough of herself to do more - and it was too soon after he had grown after all. 'That,' she said, moving back again. 'I wanted you to take that with you.' Youkochylde Feles couldn't help the purr that came from his throat at the touch and at the light kiss. A soft flush infused his cheeks as he smiled and brought up one hand to touch the spot that her lips had brushed again. "I..." he started to say... not certain if he wanted to thank her, ask what that had been for, or what have you. Instead, he leaned in a bit, returning the gesture, his lips ghosting against her cheek as hers had done to him. Sayuri_Nitta She grinned; 'Well I umm...' she bought a hand up, touching where he had kissed. It felt as if she could feel where his lips had touched. She found it slightly amusing that he actually purred, but she darent say anything. 'I guess - you should go now. We might be here all day..' she laughed a little. Youkochylde "Sorry," he whispered, the smile still on his face as he backed away a step and gave her a clumsy bow. Normally he would have been far more graceful, but his mind had taken off to parts unknown... likely with parts of his body as well, because he wasn't quite certain just WHAT the hell was going on with some areas. "I'll... I'll bring these back to you as soon as I'm done." That was incentive. The sooner he got them done, the sooner he could come back. For now, however, there was the matter of getting them transcribed... and finding clothes. He moved towards the door then, pausing in the alcove as he pulled it open. "Thank you for everything," he said, casting a glance to her once more before he slipped silently out into the hall and closed the door behind him.

22nd February 2005
Aranea paced the floor of her chamber, rubbing the cold flesh of her arms. Her hair was damp, drying now in soft waves, fine strands floating across her face at times. She batted them away, flopping onto her bed and laying back. No - no! That was no good. Now she could clearly see Feles in her mind...the memory of his change; how he looked now was seared in her mind. The dip in the cold lake outside had done nothing to cool her ardour. Was this what she was? She had of course researched the black widow spider - her totem. She had been pleasantly amused at the arachnids antics. In her - did this translate as something for more insatiable? She hadnt really gone through any feelings like this until she had seen Feles. She sat up again, going over to her desk and pulling her journal towards her;
22.02.05
What is this! What has that...Fey awakened within me?
I am deeply troubled. Where to begin? Feles came to my chambers - we had planned to meet up again soon after we last saw each other. He told me that he had been feeling a little off. I was concerned (becoming a habit), but also from a professional point of view. I am the Court's alchemist. Close enough to a physician. What he described however sounded familiar straight away. I thought he might be growing...and then - then he did! The light that enveloped him hurt his eyes, but - but when it had gone and I saw him. Believe me - I know there are differences in male and female anatomy - I've studied. But to be confronted with it in the flesh so to speak..warm and vital flesh. It was a shock.But it was pleasant too! My cheeks grow hot now even just thinking of it. Let me just say that Feles has grown very, very well.
And now...I dont know. I have these intense - feelings. That I cant put into words. And I dont know if I want them. All I know is that I was compelled to kiss him on the cheek - enjoyed when he returned the favour and I want him to return. I know he will. He is transcribing some pages for me. Can he be done already?
That sounded odd....I like Feles. I really do.
She shut the book again, a hand on the cover. She looked over at her door, expecting him to walk in. Then she tugged hard on a lock of her hair. This was not helping! Maybe...she would go and inhale some fumes down in the lab. Kill something...poison something. That may help. She dressed and left her room.
