The small vampiress snorted disbelievingly. "Liar." Mai slid over and looked at his back carefully, unsure of his story. "You know, you never told me what you were, Don."

"You don't believe me? Go look over there. Rune magic weakens physical form for awhile after it's used, and I fell after I finished an energizing spell," he said, gesturing to a small cluster of rocks. You could see runes painted on a larger one and blood on smaller ones around it.

Mai dropped off the rock and stared at the runes on the stones in disbelief. He was telling the truth, but she didn't want to believe it. "Hmmph, you have proof, but that doesn't mean I have to believe you, Kellesata."

"My, aren't you the annoying one." Mai sneered, crossing her arms over her chest. "I still want to see those tattoos of yours."

"Be my guest, if you can see through the blood. Otherwise, I have to clean it off first," he said, still watching the koi swim around.

Mai knelt behind Don, gently wiping blood off his tattoos. Her grey eyes glittered as she examined the wings on his back. The ink made it seem as if they were real. "So detailed..." Mai murmured, her fingertips tracing the outlines of the wings. "Kellesata, what are you?"

"Nothing special. Why do you worry so much about it?" he asked, shifting his shoulder blades as you touched them. His shoulder and back muscles were incredible. The strength seemed to radiate off of them.

Mai bit her lip gently and pulled her hand away from his back. "Fine, I don't need to know. You can deal with your bleeding back yourself." Mai stood and jumped off the rock, unfortunately making herself shorter than him.

"Half and half, never full. Weak with one, weak with another. Never to be admitted to above or below, only to be shunned and have all as his foe. The b*****d born of light and dark, may become to us a salvation ark," he said, a look of pain in his eyes.

Mai turned, her eyes glittering. "So you're..." The small vampiress stood and tilted her head at him curiously.
