Aiden had paid the sound of the mouse little heed not seeing it as a danger. He had not expected the creature to touch Lainey, trusting in the nature of mice to avoid potential predators.
He blinked in wide-eyed surprise at Lainey suddenly being in his lap, automatically wrapping his arms about her and attempting to soothe her. He made soft sounds, speaking reassurances while stroking her gently.
"There, Love. There. T'was only a mouse." The corners of his mouth twitched slightly as the highlander tried not to smile. "It likely thought ye would be a good source o' warmth." Aiden ran his hands lightly up and down her back, thinking that other feelings would leave little room for fear. Then he did smile. "An' it'd be right, o' a sort. Fer yer very warm, my bonny lass." Holding her tight Aiden covered her with light, reassuring kisses. "Very warm..."

Lainey's rapid breathing and heart rate slowly calmed back to normal, more startled by the sudden intrusion to her peaceful meditation than anything else. She blushed darkly in embarrassment for her overreaction, ducking his head under Aiden's chin with a soft, mewling murmur of apology for suddenly pouncing on his lap. "S-sorry... I... I guess it just startled me..." Feeling her body relax under his soothing touches, she finally pulled away enough to look at him, arching and purring softly along the feel of his fingers. She gave him a teasing look, "I'm starting to think you might be insatiable, lover." But now was not the time to play like this... Not so soon again anyways, she thought to herself. With a soft sigh she kissed him lips in a warm, chaste kiss, then carefully extracted herself from his lap. "I thought I felt something when I was meditating... Maybe... Or maybe I just wanted to feel something?"

Chuckling lightly Aiden touched his nose to hers. "Ye probably scared i' more than it scared ye, my bonny lass. Imagine having something as big as ye te it move on ye. An' with such projection too." His golden eyes twinkled as he complimented & teased. "Perhaps I am. Insatiable tha' is. But I promise I'll nae act on i' here. Ye'll be needing no distractions from me, an' tha' includes memories o' tha' sort made in this place."
The fae audio watched Lainey thoughtfully as she slipped from his lap. "Ye may have. This place is alive wi' life, even wi' th' cold settin' in." His eyes crinkled as Aiden grinned. "As yer little friend demonstrated."
Aiden paused slightly. "Wha' was it like, Lainey-lass? Wha' ye felt?"

She pouted, "Well he shouldn't go around startling audios trying to meditate."
Lainey pouted, about to protest about keeping this place chaste and sacred, but in the end held her tongue, knowing that she would not be able to concentrate if hot and steamy memories came to mind everytime they came here.
She was thoughtful for a moment. "Umm... w-well it sort of felt like... this... deep well of energy was starting to bubble up and started to overflow with energy.... Does that make sense?"

The highlander chuckled & held her near as Lainey complained about the field mouse. He leaned his head thoughtfully on her shoulder, very gently breathing into her neck as he listened to her recount her experience. Only when she asked for his response did he comment, and even then he remained quiet & thoughtful in reflection before he spoke. "Aye, lass. Tha' it does. 'Tis nae how I see things, an' nae how Trel sometimes will slip tha' she sees things, bu' I cannae deny yer experience seems te have been successful."
Aiden hugged her gently but with much emotion. "I wish te congratulate ye, bonny lass. Tis my humble opinion ye've made a good first step."

Having Aiden this close was always... distracting for Lainy, but heck! Who was she to complain when such distractions were so very nice? She waited with baited breath for his answer to her experience, then beamed brightly when he hugged her, hugging him back fiercely. "T-that means... T-th-that means that I... I could really... Really have.. powers..?" She felt like jumping up and down in joy, kissing Aiden's face where ever she could reach. "I... I'm so happy, Aiden! I feel like I could fly on this feeling alone!" She laughed sheepishly, "I don't think I'll be able to concentrate anymore, though. A-and it is getting late..." she sighed softly, noticing the sky taking on orange, pink, and red hues. "Maybe we should call it a day?"

Aiden smiled. "Aye... tha' ye could, my bonny lass. Tha' ye could." Holding her securely in his arms he stood, testing his wings. Truthfully, he hardly cared where he was... so long as he was with Lainey. Having her in his life alone made everything so much brighter."Tha' would be a grand idea, Lainey love. Where shall I take ye? Home? Th' shop?"

Lainey squealed in surprise when she was picked up, then laughed. "My big, strong, beau!" She was thoughtful for a moment, then smiled, "I think I'd like to go back to the shop." She wasn't ready to go home yet, that meant leaving Aiden for the day and she was not ready to do that... Well she was never ready to do that, but sometimes it just couldn't be helped.

"As ye wish, beloved." Kissing her temple lightly the fae audio took to the skies and angled for the shop. "Ye know... wit' Winter coming upon us, we willnae be able te take much advantage o' th' out o' doors. Perhaps we should also find places at one o' our homes te spend time. Together."

Lainey blushed darkly, "I... I'd really love that, Aiden... B-but with both come from increasingly large families. We can spend time together in one of our homes, yes, but I don't think we can find privacy that way. As it is I'm currently sharing my room with my sister, Chii until she's able to be on her own."

The male nodded, pondering as he flew. His own bed -a hammock hung in the main living area- was certainly nowhere near private. Then he got to thinking: many of the others had created rooms of refuge of some type after the wizards joined the family last February. He never had, but then there had been little need. Until now.
Aiden tightened his hold with loving possessiveness. "There may be a way, my bonny lass. We've a magic door in our house... nae quite a door o' requirements, bu' t'was modeled after one so've been told. I've ne'er had reason te use it myself, but if we think o' wha' we want an' bu' open th' door... t'will be there for us." He sucked in his breath, slowing down the speed of his flight seeing the shop in the distance & not wishing to arrive too soon. "T'would tha' be pleasing te ye, Lainey-love?" Golden eyes watched anxiously as he waited with baited breath for her reply.

"Room of Requirement..?" Lainey thought this over for a moment, then smiled broadly, nodding quickly, "I think that's perfect!" She laughed softly. "You should have thought of that sooner, you goof!" She gave him a chaste kiss, content to be in his arms like this. She saw the shhop drawing closer and sighed softly, nuzzling into him. Oh well... They had their privacy for the day, and soon they could have their privacy whenever they wanted.

Aiden chuckled, a small blush darkening the blue of his cheeks. "My 'pologies, Love. I tend nae te think on it, except tha' it keeps th' main living area an' th' rest o' th' house from being too crowded. I've been content just having my hammocks since afore it came te be. I ne'er had a need fer privcy o' my own." He had decended as he spoke and upon landing buried his muzzle into her neck. "Until ye, Lainey-lass."

The firework audio shivered lightly, tilting her head to the side to offer more of her neck to her beau, "Aiden..." She all but pouted when they landed before the shop, looking up at him with a childish huff, "I don't want to let you go just yet..."

"Then dinnae." The highlander murred into her neck, kissing the now more exposed curve with feather-light kisses. His tail swept up and around to curl gently around her waist, lightly holding the firework female to him as Aiden deftly ran his hands upon her back. Now that he had thought about the room, the fae was no longer worried about having to pause or suddenly needing to take off somewhere. Sure, he was not as fast as -say- Rikku's hover cycle- but Aiden was certain whatever he started with his mate he could prolong until getting her somewhere private. If that was what she wanted. If not, he would just as happily stay here with her until she had to go home at last. As long as he was with her...
