"Really?" Dalamar looked up from his scarf, his eyes wide. He had an idea of why Illis made him feel the way he did but he wasn't sure. He had no experiences to base his assumption off of.

Illis nodded and looked down, making a quiet, squeaky noise that sound somewhat like,"Uh-huh." He was starting to understand why he felt that way.

Dalamar looked down and blushed, pressing the tips of his index fingers together. "Umm.." he started to say something but then he decided against it and closed his mouth, feeling like butterflies were flitting around in his stomach.

"What?" Illis asked curiously, looking up at him with slightly wide eyes. He wante to know what Dalamar was going to say.

"N-nothing.." Dalamar lied. In truth he had wanted to say 'I think I love you, Illis' but that would sound weird and he didn't want to freak the cat out. He was freaked out just thinking about it.

Illis knew that he was probably getting hopes up, but he wanted to hear what he was hoping Dalamar was going to say. It was a weird thing, but he wanted something to love. Hence, him wanting kittens, and now him wanting to hear those words.

Dalamar kept his arms wrapped around his knees and rocked backward and forward slightly, wanting to break the awkward silence but fearing to do so.

"Dal, please tell me what you were going to say." He blinked, then smiled at him in a kind, sweet way, showing that it didn't matter what he said, Illis wouldn't thinking any less of him.

"I, uh..I think I'm in love with you." The words tumbled out in a rush and, as soon as he had said them, Dalamar hid his face, scared of what Illis' reaction might be.

Illis blinked, then grinned happily,"Really?"he shifted closer and made Dalamar look back up,"I think...I love you too." Those seemed to be the easiest words he'd ever said.

Dalamar stared at Illis in shock. That was the very last thing he had expected the cat to say.

Illis shifted uncertainly when Dalamar looked at him like that. Should he have been so straightforward? He was starting to regret having said that.

"Do you really mean that, Illis?" Dalamar gave him a hopeful look, his heart feeling like it was about to burst while his stomach did somersault after somersault, 'causing him to feel the tiniest bit queasy.

Illis bit his lip and nodded,feeling a little better after catching the hopeful look on Dalamar's face."Yes...I did." The thought that really didn't know that much about eachother struck him, and he figured he'd talk with Dal eventually and find out more about him.

Without stopping to think about it, Dalamar leaned forward and hugged Illis. He felt light-headed and kind of dizzy with relief. Illis loved him back! whee
