Bam.
One good thing about owning her own bar in such a relatively open city like Costa del Sol was that she could rennovate the building however she wanted to. Which meant that Tifa decided to create a small practice kickboxing area in what used to be a storage room.
Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam.
The punching bag was suffering under the mercy of her punches and kicks. Ever since the AVALANCHE group parted two years ago, Tifa hadn't been fighting monsters very often. It was only when she had to go on an errand out of town, over to Corel and such.
Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam. SMACK.
So she had to keep in shape, if not anything. Master Zangan always told her that she was a natural in kickboxing, and it would be a waste of talent if she decided to give it up. Tifa always kept her master's words even long after he died. She didn't want to be weak; Tifa wanted to at least know how to defend herself if ever such a situation would happen.
SMACK.
The punching back swayed heavily side to side after her kick. Tifa kicked it again, with her other leg, and it swayed even further like the farthest reach a pendulum could go. Quickly, she chased after it and hugged the bag to a stop before it could reach the wall, and possibly cause another hole that would be replaced again. Skidding to a stop, Tifa let the massive bag go and she squatted, staring at the object as if it was something of interest. She frowned.
It'd be more fun if somebody'd spar with me... she thought.

*Cid smirked as he heard Reeve talk about Reno lifting boxes.*
Good-for-nothing son of a gun. Serves him right. Hehe. Maybe that'll teach him some manners.
*Having finished his cigarette, he lets it fall to the ground before stamping it out and letting out a deep breath.*
Ahh. It's nice seeing these guys again. I wonder how the others are doing? That Tifa's probably taking care of Cloud, as always. I just don't understand sometimes. Nanaki's...well...I have no idea what he'd be doing. And Yuffie. Hmph. She's probably stealing something from someone. Tricky little girl. Someone should make her do some manual labor. She needs to learn to respect her elders, especially.
*With a grin, Cid returned from his thoughts and listened in on the conversation.*
------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Just before Barrett got the chance to open his mouth, Reeve answered Vincent's question.*
Hmm. Wonder why he was so intent on answering...did he not think I knew the answer? I should...especially since I was in charge of renovating this whole place.
*He waits patiently for Reeve to finish spewing information, and then greets Vincent.*
Nice to see you too. Yep. We've done quite a bit. You wouldn't believe this place once looked like a dump. Hehe. Thanks to good ol' Cid here, we got it cleaned up nicely. And yeah, the reactor's been dismantled for some time now. Didn't see the usefulness in something like that. Plus, it didn't really bring pleasant memories to anyone. Better off gone.

((I'm really sorry everyone... But I can't get on Gaia as often as I'd like anymore sad I'll probably be only able to get on once every 2-5 weeks. I'm facing some problems at home and I'm not sure when they'll cease... I'll probably be back by next March? June at the latest if this problem is fixed. Well... I hope this RP turns out successful. It'd really be appreciated if someone could take over my role as Vincent? Thanks. This'll be my last post of him. I'm sorry once again.))
Vincent nodded satisfyingly and smirked for the remark about Reno's latest activities.
"Thanks for the info you two. Well... I think I'll go for a little training up in the mountains. I'll see you all in a while." Said Vincent. He then nodded to them all and took off before anyone could say anything.
Vincent walked uphill on the dirt path that lead to where the reactor was originally. There was definately more plant life in the area... He guessed that Barret and his team worked hard to restore the life back into the spots of earth where Mako had been drained by the reactor. There was definately an increase of wildlife too... Vincent continued to walk and finally reached a ridge high enough to peer down on the landscape below. It definately had changed. Two years had done a lot.
The reactor was completely gone, and in it's place was a large circle of rock and drained earth. Around it however, Vincent could see that the land was on it's way to becomming a green area... Even if it did have some rather large patches.
Vincent looked around him and figured that Barret and his team already had their fun trying to exterminate all the monsters possible from this area. He decided to go further up the path so that perhaps he would run into more challenging monsters... At least, he hoped so.

ooc: Well, does anyone fancy taking over Vincent? If not I'll take him over. Poor SLJ crying
bic: *Reeve looked at Vincent a bit as he trailed off in the distance. Vincent certainly was an odd person. He never really seemed to want to bond with any of them... but considering his blood stained past and his transformations, Reeve didn't really blame him. He shook his head and looked down at his watch.*
"Whoa, look at the time! Well Barret, Cid, it really was nice seeing you again, but I have an appoinment with the Mayor in 30 minutes. I might drop by your house later in the day if you don't mind... I'd love to see Elmyra and Marlene again."
*Reeve looked a little uncomfortable. The guilt of having Marlene kidnapped back when he used Cait still haunted him and made having a friendly relationship with Barret a little difficult. Still, Reeve was determined to fix his past mistakes, and making amends with Barret and Marlene was important.*
"Cid, I'd like you to do me a favor if you have the time. Would you mind giving me a lift to Costa del Sol after my meeting? I want to pay Tifa and Cloud a visit."

*Reno thought long and hard in silence. What could he do? He really didn't have much of a choice. Work had been scarce, and maybe doing a large job like this would help their reputation. He had made up his mind.*
"Well, I've decided. We're gonna take the job. I know its a little suspicious and risky, but theres nothing else we can do. Besides... we're the Turks! We take any job no matter what the risk! What'll it do to our reputation if we stain it by letting our personal feelings get in the way? Tseng would have taken it, and personally I don't see why its taken us so long to decide." Reno gave a sympathetic look to Rude. "Rude, I know you don't like it. But you have to realize that this might be our last chance to get back on track. The criminal world has been growing lately, but whos to say that someone else won't steal all our jobs? We have to stay on top." Reno then turned to Elena and gave her a look and talked in a tone that resembled Tseng's leadership. "Elena, I know you don't like me. I'm not Tseng, but I'm trying. And as leader, I'm saying we're taking this job. Now, are you going to help, or we going to have to find a replacement? I'd really rather keep you."
*Reno was impressed with himself. This whole leader gig wasn't too hard once you got used to it. Still, he was having to be a lot more serious than he liked. It was easier to be himself back when Tseng was the leader. Reno shook his head and looked expectantly back at his comrades, hoping they'd go along with him. His speech had been pretty, yes, but he was fairly certain his friends would see right past his attempt to lead effectively and see Reno for himself... just wanting the gil.*
ooc: @_@ man, getting Reno's character down is tough. Sorry, this post wasn't that great.... I was kinda all over the board.

Elena turned over the meaning behind Reno's words. Turk or not, she needed a job, and she wasn't about to leave the Turks after she had come this far. Despite all the conflict and friction between her and her two teammates over the years, it was obvious that they had grown to share some sort of bond, whether or not she they liked to admit it. Faced with the reality of Reno's actions, she couldn't help but wonder what Reno's motives were. New leader of theirs he was indeed, and while she was sure he had been swayed by the vast sum of money presented to them, she knew they needed it. She also knew that while kids of the new crime era were talking about the Turks as legends, there were equally many who scoffed at their name, for no one seemed to know where they had disappeared to. Probably for the better, it's not like it would help our reputation any if people knew of the menial jobs we've been taking on as of late. Tseng. Tseng was long since dead. 'Tseng is dead, but he still lives my heart,' she recalled someone telling her, and knew it was a lie. Tseng was dead in her heart and mind, leaving a gaping empty hole, and that was why it hurt so much. Reno was no Tseng, at least he had remitted that much. Seeing him act in a manner so similar to their late leader was awkward. Awkward and painful. Like a stake through the heart, she felt the pain of remorse disinctly and clearly. Reno was trying so hard, but no matter what Elena tried to tell herself, it didn't feel right; it felt completely and utterly wrong. He's just trying to do his job, just trying to lead us. He knows we need gil, so he's just trying to get us a little cash, secure our reputation, and keep us running. Hands trembling at her side, cleched in fists, the feelings of regret and stabbing pain twisting within her. Half-choking out the words, "Of course I'm with you..." she then turned abruptly, and rushed out of the bar, tears threatening to spill. Smooth, really smooth. She mentally chastised herself. At this rate you'll be lucky if they even want you around, you emotional pice of trash! She continued to menatlly barrage herself with reprimands as she ran till she could go no further.

*Reno looked after Elena with somewhat of a pained and humiliated expression on his face. He knew that she was probably going to get upset from him acting like Tseng, but he wasn't sure at this point whether or not she was mad at him or if she was just missing Tseng. Tseng had been a father to Reno. Tseng had taught him everything he knew about being a Turk. However, Tseng's death had been the hardest on Elena. They had been close... perhaps even intimate. Tseng had never mentioned anything of the sort to him, but as Reno was somewhat of a ladies man (or so he thought of himself), he recognized the looks of longing that Elena and Tseng had abruptly exchanged. Perhaps Tseng had finally opened up his feelings before he died... that would explain why Elena missed him so much. At least Reno still had Rude to keep him company. Though Reno tried to treat Elena respectfully, she always seemed distant. Reno just shook his head and turned to Rude. He had other things to deal with that worry about Elena's emotional problems.*
"Get it together Reno... you're being weak..." he mentally scorned.
"Rude... Elena agrees, however loosely. I hope you don't mind. You've always been the level-headed one, but we can't just keep this same s**t up. We have to take this."

*Barrett watched Vincent leave and shrugged.*
He's always a strange one...
*Rubbing his brow he turned to Reeve.*
Of course you can stop by later. I'll warn Elmyra that we'll be having guests over. I'm sure this means I'll have to go stock up on food. Hehe.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*Cid just laughed to himself, shaking his head.*
Ah....these younguns. They never change. Any of them.
*Perking up as he heard his name, he looked over at Reeve.*
Hmm? Costa del Sol? Yeah. I can do that. Not for too long though. Don't wanna make that Shera worry. Hehe.
OOC: Sorry for lack of post...was braindead yesterday...and waiting for Zejx Noajcoh to add more for Cloud before I can go on with Tifa... sweatdrop
Oh yes, I'm adding some stuff about BC's story...sorta....
IC:
Well, it couldn't be helped, could it, now? Rude knew how hard Reno was trying to bring their reduced membership of the Turks together, and this might be the chance that he was waiting for. A chance to regroup the valor of the Turks, how they were 9 years before under Tseng's boss. Before the old man had died and Tseng was forced to take over leadership.
He shrugged out of habit, which Reno knew was a sign of defeat from him.
"...Whatever works," he said.
Maybe the gut feeling would go away as soon as they arrived in Wutai.
Reno grinned in triumph. He knew that Rude would wear down eventually.
"Alright... well I think we've made our employer wait a little too long."
Reno looked over at where Wrath was sitting. He was absentmindly tapping his foot on the floor, clearly impatient for the Turks to make their decision. Reno beckoned for him to come over. Wrath grinned and walked over.
"So, I trust you've made your decision? You've taken long enough..." Wrath narrowed his eyes behind his shades. If they didn't take the job then they'd be regretting it shortly.
"Of course we have. We'd be honored to do it. You might say its right up our alley. We just need to get some of the finer details down." Reno winked at him with a grin. This was perfect! He could practically see all that wonderful gil.
"You'll find everything you need to know in this." He withdrew a dossier from his coat and handed it to Reno. "Well then... I'll be seeing you soon." Wrath nodded and walked out of the bar.
Reno looked at him until he shut the bar door behind him. "I don't like it Rude... we're going to have to be careful with this one. If it was just someone else that we were after I wouldn't care, but to kidnap someone this important he has to have something serious planned. Well... we've been in tighter situations than this. We're just going to have to be careful and watch ourselves."
Reno down his shot of whiskey and stood up. He set down some gil on the table and nodded towards the door.
"We've got work to do Rude... s**t, I haven't felt this energetic in years. Can you believe it?! A real job! Lets go."
*Cloud finished eating some breakfast as he stood at the doorway, watching Tifa. Poor bag. He thought as he watched. She sure has kept in shape since we parted. Well that does explain why she always wins the sparring matches. Well that and I fight with a sword and not that good with fists.*
Cloud: You keep training like this and we are going to run out of money due to replacement bags.
*He takes his sword off his back and leans it up against the wall.*
Cloud: Guess I'll take the bags place for a little while.
*He walks up to Tifa, knowing he is about to get a pounding.*
"You keep training like this and we are going to run out of money due to replacement bags."
His voice startled her. She had been too deep into her element to even notice that he was there at first.
Tifa stood up, turning around with a frown. "Hey..."
The punching bag hasn't sprung out of the chain...YET, came her next thought, but instead of saying anything, she watched him set his sword down and walk towards her. It was interesting to watch the way he walked; it was a slow, confident stride, relaxed yet still holding remnants of his days when he was in Shinra.
"Guess I'll take the bag's place for a little while," he said to her, shrugging his shoulders to loosen up.
She blinked once. Twice. Then, as if some demon gripped her mind, she burst into laughter. She remembered the last time she had sparred with him, it took nearly 7,000 gil to repair the hole in the wall he made when she accidentally punched him in the gut a little bit too hard that sent him crashing into the opposite wall.
Cloud stared back at her as if she was insane, but Tifa just shook her head and calmed down.
"All right, just as long as you don't make another hole in the wall again," she said with a smile.
She thought she saw a small hint of a smile slip onto his lips for a second, but as soon as Tifa blinked again, that smile disappeared. Cloud was a better opponent than anybody else. Even though he lacked the experience she had, he was still better than any of the other people she sparred with before. Maybe it was something of a prerequisite to prepare for a military soldier in Shinra, that one had to know some hand-to-hand combat.
So, the sparring session began. It was 7:00am, now. Three hours before a certain someone would arrive for a visit when the bar would open.
Just some gut instinct kept him from thinking that this was right. The man that Reno was talking to, though...something about that guy gave him the chills. And for Rude, getting the chills from someone was particularly rare. "Just be on our guard..." he said to nobody in particular, and let Reno lead the way. OOC: Sorry for the extremely short post...have to go back to work sweatdrop
After going through the necessary measures of restocking his potions, ethers, and other essential supplies, Red XIII headed back toward the town's entrance. It was here that people had told him he could find Tifa's bar. Squinting, he gazed about the town: a sunny, light-hearted sort of vacation spot. It always seems like summer here, he mused.
Such a happy atmosphere... I wonder if she's found happiness? She was always so empathetic, always so aware of his feelings, wanting what was best for him. Though the others may not have seen it, that was the reason she never approached him once Aeris appeared. She saw how he looked at her, saw into his feelings. She didn't want to cause him turmoil, didn't want to disrupt his romance. That's why she stayed silent about how she felt. Though she could have told someone else, she was always too caring to trouble others. That's why she suffered alone.
Shaking his head, the red beast turned his thoughts to Cloud. And that blonde idiot. Sure he may have saved the world, but if there's anything I have to agree with Yuffie about, it would be his being a spikey-headed jerk, well, at least when others were concerned. That guy couldn't tell that the girl loved him, lest she made a huge deal out of it or flirted with him in a tastelessly blatant manner.Sighing, he reminded himself that it was none of his business. Tifa had never confided in him, and he was rather aloof compared to everyone, save for Vincent maybe. There was no reason for him to meddle in their personal affairs, it wasn't like they cared about him as anything more than an aquaintance.
Shortly he arrived at Tifa's bar. Heading up the steps of Tifa's bar, he heard a loud crash. Worried for his friends, he rushed in to see...
ooc: I leave this for Ayame and Zejx Noajcoh to fill in. i'm sure you'll come up with something amusing.
*Cloud slowly gets up as he moves a box off of him. During the sparring, Tifa managed to get a good hit on him in the ribs and sent him through the air, crashing into a stack of boxes full of training equiptment. As cloud stands up, he rubs his chest in pain.*
Cloud: Wow, that one hurt. Nice hit.
*He then turns to the mess of his landing. There are alot of boxing gloves and weights. Cloud then turns back to Tifa.*
Cloud: Well, at least it wasnt the wall this time.
*Cloud gives a small smirk at his last comment, remembering his date with the wall. Just thinking about it made his back hurt.
