Cyrus closed his eyes for a few moments, deciding that savoring the relative peace of the moment would be nice. He swiveled an ear toward her and nodded slightly. "Not worrying is nice." Especially with her there, but he wasn't sure he was quite relaxed enough to say something like that.

"Mmm." This was, more-or-less, an agreement. Bronnie was beginning to form an idea that it would be nicest to just sit here forever.
"Hey, Bronnie! Have you seen my--" Sunny pushed the door open and blinked. "Oh."
Bronnie flushed, and sat up a little. "Um..." In what she desperately hoped was a sneaky maneuver, she unwound her tail from Cyrus's ankle, intent upon looking as innocent as possible.
Sunny blinked a few more times while her brain did a bit of reboot to let her process this. Bronwen was a child, children did not snuggle on their bed with their male friends. Yes? Apparently not. She cleared her throat. "Did you want to stay for super, Cyrus?"

Cyrus made a soft sound of contentment - something like a sigh - that seemed to echo Bronwen's. He didn't quite register the door opening, though he was acutely aware that someone other than Bronnie had suddenly begun speaking. Oh ******** gaze snapped to the door, and he straightened as quickly as he could. He was more careful about removing his arm from Bronwen's shoulders though, not quite sure just how delicate her wings were, really - no way would he risk injuring them.
Already starting to stand to leave before things got too tense - or dangerous - he froze at the mention of staying for supper. Wide eyes focused on Sunny. He was rather hungry...but he wasn't sure sticking around right now was the best of ideas. ..then again, it would be nice to get a free meal - the longer he could make the money he had last, the better.
He bit his lip hesitantly and finally nodded. "I..sure.. I mean..if..that's okay." Maybe if he remained sufficiently submissive, she wouldn't decide to blow up at him.

"Of course it's fine. We're having hamburgers." Sunny grinned, but her gaze was fixed very firmly on Bronnie. Someone was going to have some explaining to do.
In the meantime, she might as well keep Cyrus in plain sight.
Bronnie knew that look, and tried not to wilt under it. She hadn't actually done anything, right? Looking guilty now would only complicate things further.

Cyrus remained rather wary, though he did seem to relax a bit when it became clear that Sunny wasn't about to tear into him as he'd expected. What a relief. "Burgers sound good, ma'am," he mumbled. Politeness seemed quite appropriate at the moment.
He glanced from Sunny to Bronwen, hoping he hadn't gotten her into too much trouble. He didn't really think she'd appreciate that.

"Well, then." Sunny turned abruptly, an odd expression on her face, and went into the hallway. Bronnie cleared her throat awkwardly.
Sunny was polite over dinner, but the overall feeling was quite tense; Ray didn't know what was going on, yet. Bronnie was rather silent, and pointedly avoiding her mother's eyes, until well after supper was over.

Throughout dinner, Cyrus shot wary glances in the direction of Sunny and Ray whenever he thought they weren't looking - mostly Ray. He was quite sure that was where most of the threat lay. ...perhaps it'd be a good idea to wait a good long while before visiting Bronnie at home again.
He seemed quite relieved once it was over. Who wouldn't be, really? He stood rather quickly after they'd finished and managed a somewhat relaxed smile. "It's late. I should be getting home now." A quick glance in Bronnie's direction. "I'll see you later then." He hoped, anyway. Hopefully Sunny wouldn't banish her to her room again.

"Yeah." Bronnie grinned at him, blushing a little. "Soon." She felt all fluttery, and was reasonably sure that she could probably drift off the ground if she stood on tip-toe too long; someone else would probably have thought they felt like they could fly.
Ray was giving Sunny confused glances, and Sunny was grinning back at him, her expression icily amused.

He grinned back at her, somewhat soothed that she didn't seem to be upset. Maybe that was a good sign. "Goodnight, Bronnie," he said, deciding against kissing her then - it didn't seem like the best of ideas at the moment. Instead, he settled for a wink and a particularly warm smile before hurrying off to the door. It was high time he got back to see how Aana was doing with Zita anyway.
