These same people would equate the feeling of raising a child as being priceless, thus, everything else in life that is capable of producing money comes a distant 2nd to it. I guess there's nothing quite like the love of a child. Hell, even the Beatles said "money can't buy me love." Now I don't want to put words in your mouth, but I'm guessing you're thinking, "no, but it can buy me a ton of other s**t...i.e. sex, cars, houses, clothes, food, more sex, tiny man thongs, cucumbers, more cars..."
I do NOT want to see Sipid in one of those...
I think a tiny man thong would kinda ruin my image.... pirate Plus it just wouldn't be stylish enough.

On a completely random subject change...

I've recently been trolling around Life Issues, and I realize that there are very few users who have the ability to even mount a solid argument against the Peabody Pirates. The people who could mount these arguments against us all live in this guild area where I'm actually social and friendly. But I'm disturbed that all of those people who used to be willing and able to argue with us seem to have vanished: Kupi-Chan, Trose, Ruby-Chan, etc. It's almost as though the thrill has steadily been diminishing as it's just become too easy. sad
Not to bring on the "OMG BB wants old gaia back" but the old times of LI are gone and probably never coming back. A lot of people found other interests, didn't want to deal with it, too busy, and things like that. The users that you brought up haven't vanished really. Although, I don't know if it's really my place to say other than Ruby-chan, and she's very busy with High School (from what I've seen she could the first female president).

I think the greatest thing you ever did though was make a slut equation. It's actually quite right really if you think about it. I mean, other than the few people, how many actually make it out of high school still virgin?

Ohhh, the goold ol' slut equation.

I kind of miss the old atmosphere of "Life Issues." There was just something so much more exciting about arguing with people who could actually come close to putting me in my place. Y'know, I always did think LI was best when it was still a part of Extended Discussion. It was more lawless, and peoples' problems were much more....mature? I think moving it to General Discussion was a big mistake personally, as when they took it out of ED a lot of people just forgot about it.

Plus when things were slow in LI, I could easily just page back to the normal ED area and argue for Evolution and stuff.

Well, those three ladies were definitely of the LI of yesteryear. I doubt we'll be seeing them again.

In any case, I believe that you're right when you say that the intelligence of LI has drastically gone downhill. I remember being able to actually hold a solid debate, but instead now it's someone who makes a stupid comment and then either can't defend their stance, or simply just responds with the classic "******** you!" and leaves. I guess that's 13 year old logic though.

On a side note, I don't believe I've heard of your slut equation. Being a math teacher, equations of all kinds interest me. Or if I have heard it, I've obviously forgotten it.

Actually, that's 19 year old logic. Last year in my comparative politics class I arguing with some guy and won, to which he responded in front of my class, "Well.. welll..... ******** you!" It was rather amazing.

As for my slut equation, I don't remember how it went exactly, other than it proved basically that the amount of attraction a man had to a woman was inversely proportional to her intelligence, so therefore women were acting more slutty and more stupid in order to get men. As their intelligence rises, men will find them less attractive as this added IQ causes a decreasd factor in other aspects, generally appearance, etc etc etc. It was actually quite extensive. if I could remember which account I made it on, I could probably look it up.

You could never find a decent debate in LI even back when we first started Sip. I think you've mistakenly identified the ease with which you crush opponents as LI undergoing change. Really I think we've just gotten better at quashing the opposition.

I don't really argue that much myself. I mostly just practice my comedy on here.

Maybe maybe. Although folks like Kupi and Trose I think were generally better at debate than those we argue against today. At least they didn't resolves arguments with, "You're an idiot" or "******** you, a*****e."

Speaking of the Peabody Pirates, where the hell is the other triplet? You can't run a ship with just a captain and cabin man.

Sizetwelveshoe(also known as Eatthisshoe, Shoebert McShoeington, Dontbegay, Nogayshoes) has actually been busy working and going to school. He pops by gaia every so often to shoot down threads, but otherwise he's either working, at school, or sleeping.

Yep, currently taking 19 units. I thought it would be harder.

I think that's probably the funniest thing you've done, that I've seen, yet.

Yeah, I can definitely agree with that. However, while I agree with you, I think you have to remember that LI isn't for arguing, making fun of and things like that, it's to give advice. Fun, but not the purpose. I think that might have helped "dumb" it down in the sense that "smart" people will, in general, be turned off by it because it's in the general discussion. I think the biggest thing that made the atmosphere boring was the new moderation system. It seems like it's helping a lot but now it seems like you can be warned for the littlest things. I think that turned off a lot of trollers, flamers, and everything. I can remember a lot of people and now they probably got banned or just didn't come back.

Eh, well, what do you gonna do when the general populus isn't as mature as others.

Yeah, and it was easier to concentrate on one thread. I think LI should have more stickies. That chat thread was a great idea until it was moved without any reason.

I've always looked at LI as my personal playground.
