Adrienne pouted slightly, they were smarter than they looked and they had called her a b***h, how sad. Ah well, this new game that Kaiser wanted to play seemed more fun anyway. Like a dancer, she moved avoiding the cards and the pretty light shows, a bend here, a twirl there, and all the while she was moving towards the nearest thug.
She got a running headstart and then she was in the air, her hands moving to catch her chains around the man's neck as she twisted. Now, not only would she come down facing the man's back, but she would have her chains locked around his neck. She came down, her feet landing square in the middle of the man's back and the moment she touched home she pushed out again with her legs while pulling hard at the chains. If the man was lucky enough his neck didn't snap, he sure as hell wouldn't be getting up for awhile.
She let the chains fall loose as she dropped to the ground and turned her attention to her other playmates. After all, they deserved the chance to play too. Fangs bared she leapt at the next nearest thug, this time aiming to sink her teeth into a more leathal spot, namely the jugular. One would almost swear that the way her hair billowed out in the wind as she leapt, that it looked just like the hood of an angry cobra. If her fangs hit home, well, this man would die within seconds and she'd pull her bloodied jaws away and bare her fangs at the next foolish mortal that wanted to tango with her.

Darshendros the Eternal rolled 2 6-sided dice:
1, 1
Total: 2 (2-12)

The first thug's neck snapped like a twig, and the second screamed as his throat was torn out in a spray of blood. Kaiser entered the fray, drawing out his rapier and stabbing one of the thugs through the throat while he was stunned. One of the remaining two, the one holding a club, charged at Adrienne and took a swing at her head from behind. The fifth had a change of heart, after seeing how quickly most of his friends had been taken out, and started running away. Kaiser wasn't going to let this one get away though. Taking a pair of dice out of his pocket, he curled his fingers around them, blew on them, and tossed them to the ground.
"Snake eyes?! You've got to be kidding me," Kaiser complained. The thug got lucky with that dice throw, and would probably get away unless Adrienne caught up to him. As for Kaiser, though, he would receive the penalties of such a horrible throw, and get blown back through the air from a fireball exploding right in front of him.

Adrienne dropped into a sweep kick, taking the thugs legs out from under him. Then she was up and running after the one who intended to flee. As she drew nearer to him, one hand came up, the chain attatched to it sailing through the air to wrap around the fleeing thug's neck. Adrienne stropped in her tracks and the chain snapped as she held her arm taught. She could feel and see the shackle around her wrist bite into her flesh before going loose again as the thug would fall to the ground. The man would obviously clutch at his throat, but it would be in vain as Adri gripped the chain and pulled it tighter.
She held the chain there as she turned her attention to the thug who had tried to hit her with the club. She had left him alive, intentionally. Blind eyes fell upon him as she let out a long, menacing hiss. "Tell your massster that I no longer wish to play with hisss toysss. If he valuesss hisss life, he will forget whatever debt Kaissser owesss him and leave usss be."

Whoa. Kaiser reminded himself not to catch her in a dark alley when she was in a bad mood. Good thing she was on his side! Getting back to his feet, he dusted himself off then walked over to retrieve his treacherous dice. Afterwards, he held his hand open and the cards that were laying on the ground everywhere found their way back to his palm, and then back into his pocket. Wiping the blood off his sword on the shirts of one of the slain thugs, Kaiser watched Adrienne finish off the one trying to run off, then let the last one go with a message.
"I'm glad you're on my side," Kaiser said with a chuckle, sheathing his sword. "Shall we?" He gestured his hand toward the ferry, which had just made port.

"After you, kind sssir." Adrienne motioned for him to take the lead again as she cast one last glance back at the carnage she had just left lying in the middle of Gambino's streets. This would be the talk of the town for a few days at the least. She licked daintily at her lips as she fell in behind Kaiser, trying to clean away the blood from the man she had bitten, what she couldn't get with her tonuge she wiped off with her hand, which she then licked clean. Mmmmm. It was almost enough to make her hungry again.

They wouldn't be bothered again for quite some time, and those who had witnessed the bloody melee avoided the dangerous couple. After buying a ticket and boarding the ferry, the rest of the day went by uneventfully. The ferry pulled out of port half an hour later and made its way along the Gaian coast to the town of Latent, taking a little over an hour to make the trip.
Kaiser had changed his mind about abandoning Adrienne once reaching the town, on the fact that a friend like her could come in quite handy, especially if this treasure hunt he planned to go on turned out to be more dangerous than he could handle. Treasure hunts usually were, if the stories the bards always told of them were as true as they made them seem. If not for the vicious fangs and petrifying gaze, he might even find himself to be attracted to her - at least until she tried eating him. Kaiser told Adrienne everything he knew about the quest he saw on the bulletin, and the person who lived in Latent that posted it that he planned on seeing.
"Seeing as how you've saved my life twice now, I guess I owe it to you to tell you the truth. I don't really know anyone in Latent. In fact, the only reason I'm so determined on getting to Latent is to find this person that posted a request on the bulletin board to find some lost pirate's treasure. If I can find that treasure, I could pay off The Man and no longer have to worry about looking over my shoulder, and probably make a good profit off of it as well. You're invited to join me on this quest, if you want. Maybe you'll find what you're looking for as well."
((Posting this in Latent too.))

A long drive and some meaningless small talk about sports, the weather, or whatever else was comfortable or easy to talk about through a long drive. Red was being a bit of pain, warning him of every turn, checking his speed, and generally being a backseat driver even though she was in the front seat.
The sign for the bridges into Gambino Island was approaching, they were only a few miles away from the resort town. Her minature cell phone vibrated against her hip and she pulled it out of her purse. She looked sourly at the message it contained before stuffing pack into its tiny pocket.
"You have to get off at this exit," she said, "North towards the Island."

He sighed, knowing fully where to go, seeing that by now the island was in near plain sight. She had been heckling him like his mother (although he really never had the experience..) and was reminding him of every minute detail possible.
"You know I'm not exactly helpless right? One more time and I'll run us off the road into the murky depths!"
He chuckled a bit after his last dramatic exclamation, knowing he wasn't quite in top shape for running them off of bridges. He turned his head to glance at her, and managed to see her expression after looking at the phone. He turned his head back to the road ahead and questioned,
"Mm, who was it?"

"Oh that, I'll tell you when I'm ready, but first."she said, "Well, we're almost here."
She paused a bit, gathering her courage to say something as she went over the bridge.
"Zetsu?" she asked, "Remember only a few weeks ago when we drove to stadium? I'll never forget it, because that was the night I.... I... realized something important. Something very important. It felt nice, being close to you, you know? I realized that my life might go in a new direction, depending on how things work out. But enough about what I want to do, where do you want to go. The first six hours are all yours. You get to pick first."
She smiled at him.
Gambino Island was known for its Casinos, but there were also shops, beaches, harbors, boats that could be rented, shows, golf courses, and amusement parks. He would have his pick, then they would eat, and she would have her choice that night.

He let his curiosity about the phone call dwindle for a moment as they crossed the bridge, he knew she would tell him eventually. It was moments later when she began to speak again, nearly mirroring what he thought about her. He took a glance at her for what seemed to be the hundredth time, catching her smile.
"Um, my pick?"
He thought a moment, staring ahead at the bridge and noticing its near end.
"Well, there's so much to do ya' know? Maybe we could start off with a small walk or something..and..see what to do from there.."
He took a hand from the wheel to rub the back of his neck, thinking the possibilities over once more.
"Well, we're not exactly dressed for walking hm? And this place is like one huge amusement park..give me a little more time.."
His hand found its way back to the steering wheel, and his eyebrows furrowed in thought.
So much to do..

"A walk sounds nice, but you'll have to decide where,"she smiled, "I'll go wherever you go. I have to stop trying to make all the decisions all the time anyway."
She gave him a quizzical expresion. A walk might be nice, they had a lot to talk about.
"Do you preffered to be called Zetsumeii or Yeshu?"

Adaire "A walk sounds nice, but you'll have to decide where,"she smiled, "I'll go wherever you go. I have to stop trying to make all the decisions all the time anyway."
He turned to find her smiling and returned the favor with a grin, glad his idea wasn't too stupid or anything.
"Okay then, it's settled. In a place like this we're bound to find somewhere nice to take a nice stroll.."
Her next question was rather unexpected, and he quickly glanced at her, only to look back to the road ahead near-instantaneously. He took several moments to compose an answer before speaking.
"Well, I suppose Yeshu feels somewhat more 'real' you know? But..I've been called Zetsumei for..well for as long as I can remember."
He turned his head to face her, looking serious for a second before tentatively smiling.
"I guess it's a matter of whatever you like best, I don't mind."

She rolled the window down and let the wind play with her hair. The air was cool but it was never really cold here, something to do with the ocean.
"I don't know, I kinda like calling you Zetsu, and you seem to like that too," she said. "Still, it's been so long since anyone's called me anything other than Red. I hated my real name after what happened to me, but when you say it, it sounds... kind of nice. I wondered if maybe you would feel the same way?"
Then she turned to look out the window, her hands clutching the passenger door as she leaned toward the open window to stare at the sea, the island only a short distance away. A massive bridge with peaked towers, cables holding the road from above. Below where boats and yachts, even a few fishing vessels, not for industry but for tourism. Many people in Gaia seemed to be rather fond of fishing. It was nice to enjoy the scenery in leisurely fashion and not be concerned about other matters. All her other thoughts where centered on anticipation of where they would go, it was sort of nice to have the anticipation of a surprise that wasn't pre-planned her way. She continued to watch the scenery dreamily.

The sudden gust of air ruffled his hair a bit and directed his attention to her, just in time for him to become entranced by her fluttering hair as she spoke. Her question for him afterwards was met with a moment's thought before answering.
" I like Zetsu also, he's made time to give his name a history. Yeshu..doesn't exist anymore, if you get what I mean. "
He continued to look her way, even as she looked out the window. Luckily there were no cars or other obstacles to worry about, so they wouldn't be going over the bridge anytime soon. It was a fine day, nearly perfect weather for them to enjoy. They had reached the last third of the bridge, and soon would be time to find someplace to get out.
