http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=7202237[PRP] Yes I am a Kalona (Ariston and Calamity) Dec 31st 06 (( For Tweek and Quiddie, Rawwwr )) Ariston had been blessed with so many horrible encounters lately, that he wondered what would come at him next. After somehow surviving a vicious skinwalker, his thought process of who he was pounded at him constantly. Of course he was a Kalona and of course he enjoyed the taste of flesh, but his mind was clouded with why he hadn't fully acted like one. The skinwalker tor him apart mentally, so he decided to spend a new fresh morning staring at his beautiful self. "No matter what happens to me mentally, at least I will ALWAYS be absolutely gorgoues." He sighed, and did his usual poses.
After feeling content with his many praticed poses, he had already felt better, and decided to wander away from his favorite pond. To where he was going, he had no idea.
Quiddie! If ever Ariston had a kindred spirit, it would have been Calamity. His berating and verbal abuse for his behavior was, sadly, before Ariston's appearance in these parts.
The struggle against less-than-kalona tendencies was still fought silently in Calamity's soul, but his newfound sense of stength and future plans forbadea ny acknowledgement of his percieved weaknesses. But still, Calamity found in himself a curious kindred sentiment with the Kalona.
On one of his many walks, he spotted a flash of Ariston's meticulously kept mane. He changed direction a followed him a ways before calling out. Seeing him more closely than ever before, Calamity idly remarked on the...precision (was that the word he was looking for) on Ariston's appearance. Almost as attractive as Cal himself. Ariston's heavy mane shifted directions as he noticed an unusual face calling to him. He also noticed that it was a Kalona, something that also brought back some horrid feelings from the Skinwalker. He knew he could handle anything now, but most Kalona males were interested in tearing his beautiful body apart. Well, females were the same as well. Sighing, he inched closer, but left himself a safe distance.
"And who might you be, I have not seen your face before." Ariston was awful at remembering names, but faces were always helpful. He then lightly nodded his head to continue. "My name is Ariston." He gulped, for the Kalona in front of him was strong looking. Ariston knew he could be strong, but lately his connection with himself was off, so if a fight were ever to break loose, he would be screwed. He wasn't sure of anything at the moment, so he sighed again and watched the Kalona with his purple eyes.
Even his sense of Pride was off, for the experience beforehand had shattered many mirrors that he found in himself. Though, he knew that a good morning rest would help his fix such barriers. Shaking his head lightly, he wiggled his tail and put his back straight again. 'I am so foolish..' he kept thinking to himself, as he wondered why he wasn't acting as his manigicient self.(( Ariston is actually.. crushed at the moment, so it is interesting to see what he and Calamity will connect about :3 )) Quiddie! This was...quite different than the stallion he had expected to encounter. He was not so assured and arrogant. It forced Calamity to rethink his approach.
He stopped in his tracks and pondered Ariston for a moment. "My name is Calamity. I'm a little surprised we hadn't met yet."
His words were no harsher than any other stallion's. And yet he did not sense any need for the bristling demeanor he took up with most others. There was something quite familiar in his distracted gaze, and though he didn't pity Ariston (pity was a vile, worthless emotion for any respectable creature), he did make a very un-kalonaish attempt at empathy.
"Are you quite all right? You look a little...ill." Not entirely true, but it suited his purpose close enough. "I.. I'm fine.." He moved his head elegantly to let his hair fall on the other side of his face. He was suprised by the words of the Kalona, and wasn't sure how to react. He had just looked at himself earlier, and he thought his face looked quite alright. Apprently though, his beauty senses were off too?? What was wrong with him.
"I um.. basically got ravaged by a Skinwalker.." He was embarrassed to show that he indeed lost a fight, though it wasn't a fight of brute force. "Judging on you asking me such a question, I see you are an interesting Kalona." He brought his face back up to look at Calamity in the eyes. "I am still a little shocked, I guess, I apologzie for my weak look...I am never like this. This is MOST awful, if I may admit." The fact that he didn't look his best tore at his heart even more. His beauty was his greatest gift, his greatest pleasure, and apparently that trait was also falling victum to the stupid Skinwalker.
He stretched out for a second, feeling that his muscles still felt sore. After a few good deep breathes, he looked at Calamity again, wondering why he hadn't scorned him for being a weak Kalona. "Wait.. are you the Kalona Shade had been mentioning?" Quiddie! "Skinwalker?" Calamity's hackled raised, and he spit the word through his clenched teeth. They were an abomination, a fluke that he had long ago resolved to remedy when the time was right. But time had clouded his fury until now.
"Their time will come soon enough," he grumbled softly. Attacking a kalona was an unforgiveable offense. Calamity, not having properly understood the nature of Ariston's encouter, thought the stallion looked no worse for coming off of a fight. Cal was impressed. Before he could properly vocalize his admiration, however, Ari mentioned NightShade. "You know her then?" Calamity only fleetingly felt a pang of jeaousy and protectiveness, which he quickly swatted away with well-honed indifference. "I believe she's mentioned you before. How are you acquainted?" He understood her mercurial, flirtatious nature quite well, and did not doubt she did what she could to endear herself to the handsome kalona. "Aye, she was one that many did not know existed, she is like a horribly kept secret.." He chuckled, feeling a little better that the Kalona seemed to understand. "She enjoyed sucking in my Pride, but she won't be able to keep it for long." Her destructive thoughts filled his brain again, and he sighed wanting them all to dissapear.
The conversation took an interesting turn as Ariston noticed Calamity's reaction. "Aye, I do. Though, she is quite cruel to me.." He chuckled, and looked back at Calamity. "She speaks of you quite a lot, I am happy for her and for you as well." He nodded politely. Love of that sort was not something that Ariston knew well, especially between races. He enjoyed all kinds of mares too much.
He felt himself chuckle again when he thought of Shade. She was a good Kalona to know, and even though they fought many a time, he enjoyed her way of thinking. "Don't worry, though." He laughed. "She finds me most disgusting and girly." He nuzzled at his golden bliss, hoping that Cal would enjoy his little humor, which was true of course. .

http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=7248943[PRP] Dragons... (Saphira and Gwee) Jan 3rd 07 ((This RP is for Silent and Tweek <3 )) Saphira gazed at the world around her. It was much different from where she came from, and there was peace to be noticed around her. She sniffed here and there, taken in the little life forms in the area. There was one thing missing from her moment though, and that was Eragon. Her one companion was no where to be found.
Sighing, she drifted forward, wondering if she could ever see him in the future. Her current state of mind was at peace, which was something she couldn't usually do. Her long tail dragged behind her, picking up bits of rocks in its path. She was easily seen in the snow, and stood out in a bright blue daze.
Although she was confused, a part of her was also happy at her new surrounding. There were no threats of the constant enemy that chased her and Eragon usually. Or, at least she thought.Silent Spy Gwee soared through the skies, relaxed. So far, this day has been a good day. She found a young rabbit and roasted it to perfection, the most delicious meal. Not too long after, she found a young Soquili to torment, who screamed like a pathetic fool and ran off into the woods. Yes, this has been a good day for Gwee.
Down below, she spotted something that stood out amongst the boring white field of snow. There was a bright blue speck. Was it a rare treasure, perhaps? Or just another Soquili to torture? Either way, it would only make Gwee's day better if she were to find out.
Gwee swooped down to the ground, across the field from the blue spot. From the angle, Gwee could tell it was definitely a Soquili, but she seemed different than others Gwee had seen in these lands, yet still familiar to her. Gwee approached the Soquili slowly, trying to get a better look at the strange blue Soquili. The Soquili had wings similar to Gwee's, yet still different in some manners. As Gwee got closer, she could tell the Soquili was a mare, with a spikey tail similar to Gwee's.
Another dragon? thought Gwee. Oh, the thought of this made her slightly excited. She had not met another dragon outside of her own family. Shall I torture a fellow dragon? If I do, I most likely will not meet another one again.
Gwee pondered this question as she continued to walk closer. Alas, Gwee finally spoke a few words, a few yards away from the mare. "Hello," said Gwee, dragging the last sound of the word softly, calling to the mare's attention. Saphira turned quickly to see an interesting figure behind her. Her bright blue eyes widened at the sight of another dragon. "Hello." She said back, pollitely but still taken aback by shock. She was one of the few dragons from her homeland that actually existed, and here another was standing in front of her. There seemed to be many mysteries to this new land.
"Forgive me, I am just so suprised to see another dragon, it has been a long time since I have seen one, a female as well." She nodded to her, graced by her presence. "My name is Saphira, what is yours?" She was interested in the dragon in front of her, with so many questions. "Have you been in this land awhile? I am quite new.." Her ears perked at the distant sound of a rabit, and the feeling of flesh made her lips curl. 'How delicious' she thought in her head. She hadn't eaten yet, so she would have to get some food later on.Silent Spy "I don't give out my name too often, you would be abnormally lucky to hear it," said Gwee coldly. Gwee despised giving out any information about herself, in fear of forming a relationship. Relationships only bring trouble or pain. Yet, at the same time, Gwee felt the need for someone to talk with, especially since Bongo and her have not been on the best terms as of late.
"I have only arrived a short while ago," said Gwee, although feeling reluctant to give out this information, even though it wasn't personal enough to allow a relationship. "I can't help notice some similarities between you and I."
Gwee stopped, awaiting the mare's reply, even though she didn't directly ask a question. Gwee was curious about this mare, as unusual as it is for Gwee. Never before had she been so interested in somebody else, but perhaps she had finally met someone that had a similarity with her, somone she didn't have to torture. Is this mare, Saphira, really another dragon? Gwee thought to herself. "Abnormally lucky? I doubt that I am such a thing." Feeling her slender neck arch, she made a light chuckle and her eyes went back on the mare. "Either way, it is nice to run into you. Trust is something that is formed, not acknowledged in the first greeting anyhow." She nodded lightly, gently letting hot air out of her nostrils.
"Interesting.." Saphira said, letting her mind wander. "I felt that as well, though there are differences I'm sure. Differences, not neccessarily being a bad thing." She gently smiled and naturally pawed at the earth. "I am intrigued though, by what similarities you are thinking."
Saphira felt no need to put up a harsh front, the dragon in front of her looked plenty strong. Plus, that wasn't what their confrontation was for, anyhow. Her mind felt sort of childish, only because it had been ages since she had seen another female dragon. "I wonder, your wings look a bit different from mine, but they are quite impressive." She looked up and down, noticing small details between them. "Can you breathe fire?" Her smile slipped into a bigger shape, and she became more interested in the question.Silent Spy "Can you breathe fire?" asked Gwee in return, shocked and stunned. Another firebreather? Even amongst Gwee's family, she was the only one who could breathe fire! "Yes, I do, it is quite a rare talent, I must add. But if you can, I would be more than shocked! In fact, I think it would be worth giving you my name over!"
Gwee lowered down her head and breathed a hot flame, melting some of the snow on the ground before Gwee's feet, creating a soft patch of the dead frozen grass. Gwee stepped onto the patch and stared at the impressive mare, wondering if the mare would or even could do the same. "Well of course. Fire is something I breathe naturally, but my companion.. " She sighed for a second and then slowly continued. "With him, I can do other spells and sorts. So yes, I was born with fire in me." She chuckled, knowing that her blue dememor might make that a bit strange.
Saphira looked at her but then felt sort of bad. "Well, when I was younger the flame was more durable to control, so I apologize if it might seem big. Thats only because from how much I did it, the flame has just grown bigger.." Turning her head and looking towards a big ice patch, Saphira closed her eyes and barely moved her neck, but within seconds felt her mouth open, allowing a vast flame to fly forward. After closing her mouth as quickly as she could for the sake of not showing off, she giggled to herself saying "Goodness, it always feels good to let that out." Silent Spy Gwee smiled delightfully. Alas, another firebreather! Although, Gwee felt a slight competition. Then again, the firebreathing, as impressive as it was, wasn't that unusual. Gwee breathed a large flame that shot out, as if she were a flamethrower of sorts. The flame spread out a few yards into the distances, melting the snow on the field that got in the way. Gwee then stopped and tilted her head to the fellow dragon.
"My name is Gwee," she said with warm smile. Ugh, not a relationship! Ah, well, an opportunity like meeting a dragon should not be passed up. Especially one as impressive, and potentially useful as this one. "And, please, don't say 'goodness', it bothers me." Saphira nodded to Gwee, and said, "Ahh, your name. I am suprised though, honored to have learned it. You are an impressive dragon, and I can tell you have many strengths." She smiled back and giggled at her comment. "Goodness? Haha, it was true though, the fire needed to come out eventually." She felt her eyes look back at the snow that Gwee had easily melted.
"I am thankful that I have run into you first, I am not sure what or who presides in this land." She flicked her tail to the feeling of water dropping on it, and calmed her senses that it was just cold water. "Are there many dragons here?" This was the main question on her mind, and although she was extremely happy to run into Gwee, she was still excited to know if others existed as well.
The wind climbed up her scales on her back, and she shivered at the nasty cold. It didn't feel particularly nice on her scales, and although they could handle heat well, frost was just a more uncomfortable feeling. Silent Spy "I live in a land far away, in a vast range of mountains. My true parents abandoned me when I was just a newborn foal. I don't remember them, but I remember the family that raised me. They too were dragons, but not the same as myself. They were unable to breathe fire. They were so kind, I despised them so much, but I relied on them to support me. As an older foal, I couldn't stand their good-natured behavior any longer. I led them into the woods and set the woods on fire, allowing them to die," said Gwee, telling her dark life story. "It was then that I met a ferret, whose family was also killed in the fire. The ferret, MoMo, was the only one to survive. In pity, I allowed MoMo to surivive and tried to watch over it. After a while, I felt I befriended it, but it never gave me friendship in return, he only told me of how much he hated me. MoMo ran off and came to these lands. I searched for MoMo, and found him here a while later."
"Tell me more of this land of firebreathers," said Gwee, very curious about the land. Perhaps Gwee could pay a visit one time. Saphira's first reaction was that she wanted to say goodness again, though she stopped herself knowing that it would result to complete idiotry. The mere fact that the dragon in front of her told such a story made her pause and stop inside. 'And I thought I had hard times..' Though, every dragon had a story to tell.
"I am sorry to hear you have been through so much, it makes me sad to hear that another dragon has dealt with such issues." Her gaze went soft, though she knew the dragon wasn't asking for sympathy. She simply nodded to her, and left it at that.
She giggled to Gwee, and slowly thought of where to start. "The land is full of two leggars, who are constantly in fighting. Although I was only able to experience a few dragons that were still alive, in the old days they flourished and dominated with the men. Certain two leggars may have a connection that can create power between them and the dragon, and that is what me and my partner had." Her ear twitched at her last word, as she still felt a connection with Eragon somewhere in her heart. So many questions constantly floated in her mind, that she found it hard to stay focused. "Dragons wait until the right two leggar has appeared, and that is how a Dragon Rider is created..." The memories made her shiver, and she felt her eyes drift from Gwee to the sky.Silent Spy "All the two leggers can go and burn at stake for all I care," sbarked Gwee. "They are the ones who are unnatural. They are the true inferiors in this world, only unfortunately they have a superiority complex, thinking they are greater than all other species in the world. Have you not noticed this? What makes them think that? I honestly don't get it."
"You speak of the relationship between dragons and two-leggers as if a dragon is nothing more than a possession to the two-legger. Do you not see how terrible and wrong that is? This is why the two-leggers need to be punished for all of their sins," said Gwee, getting angry. "I will never find a two-legger that is 'right' for me, a so called 'Rider'. I refuse to allow myself to slink down to nothing more than an item, and I do not and cannot see why someone as talented and a special as yourself would allow that to happen to you." Saphira kept herself calm as the dragon spoke, only because such an argument indeed would make sense. "It is true what you say, that the two leggars do think in such a way. And that is why in my world, we created riders. What made our world ruin itself was a man using his dragon for such power, so the only way to fix anything is to side with our chosen warriors again. Together, we can create the power we need to accomplish these goals." It was a confusing story, and her homeland was very complicated. She knew that it could be strange for a dragon/two leggar relationship, though to her it meant everything in her life.
"I am not an item, though." She nodded to her, feeling sadness slink in her body. "I chose my rider. I would have waited forever.. I guess it is just the way my world is, although their are many two leggars that I would happily stomp," She chuckled, "Although many of them respect us dragons more than anything, so there is no way that an item can define what Eragon and I have." She nodded to Gwee, hoping what she said somehow made sense. Silent Spy ((Sorry for the late reply, busy week. @_@)) "I suppose there may be a two-legger out there that is honest in this world, but I doubt that I will ever meet him," said Gwee in a bored voice. "What exactly do you mean by your 'rider'? And why would you wait so long just to meet this 'rider'? And who is this Eragon person?"
Gwee leaned in suspiciously to Saphira, the words she said did not make Gwee feel that this dragon is one to be trusted after all. On the other hand, perhaps Gwee is wrong. No, I can't be wrong, or at least, I'll never admit to being so. "I understand that thought, two leggars are indeed worthless at times. There are some with pure hearts, though they are quite hard to find." She watched Gwee's eyes, wondering why she hated two leggars so much. It was understadable though, Saphira herself had her own hate of many two leggars. "Rider is the one who becomes a part of me, and I a part of him/her. They possess strength, bravery, and the ability to help destroy what must be destroyed."
Saphira knew that all of this information may have sounded crazy, so she carefully continued. " A dragon waits for the correct rider, I guess. One who is able to withstand not only a large amount of power, but also one who is able to complete their destiny.." At Gwee's last question, Saphira kept her gaze but silently bit her lip. " Eragon is my rider, I just have not seen him for awhile."
Taking in a deep breath of air, Saphira looked towards Gwee, feeling a strange reaction from her. "I am sorry if this may sound crazy. I have said quite a lot, I apologize." She smiled gently.

http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=7321585[PRP] In the Shades of Blue..(Saphira and Water) Jan 7th 06 Saphira, after finally eating a hearty meal, felt herself gazing around while using her remarkable vision to scope out any life forms. She was still new to the area, and after meeting one dragon she was unsure of what could be out in this new world. Either way, she was content with the lack of violence that existed, and was able to comfortably rest for that moment in time.
Every day though, her heart sank, for as the days got longer, the time in which she and Eragon had seen each other also grew longer.
Taking in a deep sigh, she smiled at a cool breeze, knowing there was definitely a comfortable stream near by. She slowly moved her legs, allowing herself the relaxation she deserved. dustfeather Water is lazily trotting across the fields...alone, for once. She doesn't particularly crave the alone time...but N'doch apparently needs his time alone, and she isn't sure that that's not a bad thing. Plus, she needs time away from her chidren. As she goes along, she spots a hint of glinting blue -
Scales! She snorts, ears swiveling about and eyes going wide. Blue, scales...could it be?
She throws herself into an eager gallop, but almost immediately comes to another sudden halt. This female has leathery wings, not feathered ones...more like her brother Fire than her sister Air. And the blue is darker than Air's. Disappointment scrawls over her muzzle, and her brows knit together. No, not Air. But it is another Soquili. Saphira was startled at first, especially because a stunning Soquili she had not seen before appeared in front of her. The Soquili looked completely different from the first she had seen, and her body's reaction was that of a halt as well.
Feeling her stern mouth curve, she smiled, although unsure of how to approach her. "Hello there.. I have not seen you before. May I ask your name?" Realizing she did not introduce herself first, she wondered if that made a bad impression. She lifted her neck to a more secure position, so she was facing the other female more elegantly. Something about the female seemed oddly familiar, and she looked at her beautiful skin carefully, felling her senses pick up some kind of scent or vision.dustfeather The mare stares quietly at the brilliant blue-scaled soquili, her ears flicking slowly back and forth. She doesn't seem to look particularly awkward at being found wrong...but neither is there an excessive amount of welcome in those eyes or stance. The unicorn watches as the kalona comes near.
Despite the color, the soquili this one reminds her of more and more is her brother, Fire, whom Water has only the faintest of memories of. Still, the memories are not entirely pleasant, and she's never met any other kalona before. So her manner is slightly aloof, and she offers a casual nod, her tail-tuft flicking sinuously. "Hey." The blunt openness of the other makes the tiniest of smiles curl on her lips, to hover there. "You may ask, certainly." There's a pause, long enough for the unicorn to quietly point out the innacuracy in the question, but she seems to take pity on the other, for she answers: "The name's Water. What's yours?" (( Its funny cause, when Lil and I were talking about making Saphira, we decided we didnt want her to have Kalona traits. Her wings are folded, many because they resemble the wind breeds actually ^_^ She doesn't have that Kalona complex 3nodding Its better for RP purposes, Saphira isn't an ebil one X3 )) Saphira's eyes gleamed, feeling a strange reaction from Water. She lifted her eyebrow, though still kept her same face. "I am Saphira. My, I have not seen a Soquili such as yourself.." She wanted to walk around her, and follow her mane and tail. The horn on her head also stood out tall, and this picked at her curiosity. It was completely different than hers, and it confused her. Though, she wasn't the type that liked to create unneccessary intimidation, so she simply let her bright eyes gently watch.
"Water is a bold but confident name, it fits you well." Saphira said as she brought her eyes back to Water's. She wanted to know more about the figure in front of her, and her mind raced with many thoughts. Her wings clung neatly to her sides, though her tail naturally swung towards the clumps of dirt and rocks behind her.

http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=7248943 [PRP] Dragons... (Saphira and Gwee) Continued Jan 25th 07 Silent Spy "I don't wait for anyone, does that not make me a dragon?," asked Gwee, a bit confused. "You sound dependent on this 'rider' of yours. You should never allow yourself to be so dependent and reliant on one single soul, especially one as untrusting as a two-legger."
"You can never really trust a two-legger, you cannot predict their actions like you can a normal prey. It's why I find it so fun to hunt two-leggers, their instincts are much more interesting than that of a rabbit or squirrel," said Gwee, and then gave a mischevious smile. "Not to mention, two-legger meat is much tastier and filling than a rabbit's meat." Lifting her eyebrow, Saphira felt her mouth sway from the smile it was into a slight frown, upset with Gwee's remark. "Of course you are a dragon, that is a strange thing to say. The world I come from is just different." Turning her head slightly, she thought about the other part of her statement. "I don't expect you to understand of course, I know it sounds strange. I don't trust any two leggar except Eragon. This really is quite difficult to portray, but either way I stick true to who I trust." Looking back at Gwee, she slid her tail back and forth, a bit dazzled from her comments.
"The meat is quite tasty, I will not lie there. I don't want to give you the impression that I trust all two leggars, because I most definitely don't. Eragon and I have the same mindflow anyways, we can read each others thoughts. The trust is a level I can't explain." She blushed, only because before she met Eragon she probably would have felt the same as Gwee. Going into the idea of hunting, she brought her eyes back on Gwees, as she imagined the wonderful hunt she had earlier. "I do enjoy hunting quite a bit.. my last meal was delicious."Silent Spy "You can read each other's minds? You, mare, have much more power than I thought any one dragon was capable of having. Reading minds and fire breathing? You surely outbeat me, to think I thought I was unique just because I could breathe fire. You have surely proven me to be wrong," said Gwee. "Reading minds is very special, oh, I would love for the power to do that. To hear what my prey is thinking before I kill them, to hear their thoughts as I torture them, oh, yes. It would be a most marvellous power indeed." Saphira nodded softly, understanding the wonder of her power. "Yes, it is a power that is wonderful. Not only can my link and I communicate that way, but we are able to feel nature on a different level." Her eyes glowed naturally, and she focused in on a small rabit many feet away. "Even though you speak of power, you have a stamina I much admire. Power isn't always everything, from the moment I sensed you, I was aware of all of the strength you possess." Silent Spy "I've been amazed by you since I've first spotted you, and that was quite a distance away, all the way up in the skies," said Gwee, giving a smile at the compliment. True, Gwee was quite powerful and she was persistant, but she felt so humble when she was around this dragon mare. Being humble is something Gwee is not used to, nor something she was fond of feeling. In fact, she rather disliked the feeling.
"But don't be mistaken, I am still better than you," said Gwee, childlishly boasting with a light and sarcastic smile. Deep down, Gwee wished it were true, for it was quite obviously not. The mare had power far beyong Gwee's sphere of capabilities, the mare also had beauty. Gwee found herself quite beautiful, as did the many of the other stallion she has come across in her lifetime, but she still felt humbled in the prescense of a true gem such as Saphira's. Saphira was taken aback by her compliment, only because it always made her embarassed to hear such. Of course, it was always pleasant to receive such compliments, and her inner child beamed with glory behind her dazzled eyes.
Her body had changed its position into one that was more relaxed, and although she many not have known enough about Gwee to fully trust her, she was pleased with their current relationship and how it was forming. After hearing Gwee's comment, she gave out a light chuckle, and smiled and nodded back to her. Before their conversation and meeting though, Saphira was on her way to finally snagging some meat, and while she enjoyed every second of their encounter, her stomach also decided to pitch in to the dialogue with grunts and pouts. Putting her face down lightly in embarrassment, she looked back at Gwee with a light blush.
"I can't lie; I am starving, Gwee. How about you? I keep sensing things around me, and it is torture to my stomach." Giggling quietly, her stomach bounced once again, being louder than before. How unladylike! She thought to herself. Though, when it came to eating meat, she forgot all gestures of being pollite and focused in on the delicious morsels.Silent Spy "Well, I can always go for another snack, but I had just eaten a bit before I spotted you," said Gwee. "And if my senses are accurate, there is a small rabbit hopping around these parts in these very plains, in fact. A nice hunt sounds lovely though. They always are."
Gwee gave a malicous smile to Saphira and gave a light wink. Nothing is more enjoyable than hunting, aside from torture or killing of course. Hunts were always so exciting, full of suspense and tension. Gwee loved the feeling. "Indeed, a rabbit is hopping around right over there" She flung her nose towards the direction to where the creature was residing, and she let on a twisted smile in regard to it. "There also seems to be another small fellow a bit further back, so there are two victums for us now." Realizing this, she giggled and wondered if Gwee wanted one of them.
"Since there are two, help yourself to that rabbit you discovered, I think I will try for the mystery over there." Letting out a small but excited snarl, she dove into the air, finally letting her wings release into their full size.
"I mean, how can this opportunity not be taken?" Winking back to Gwee, she raced in the direction to where her prey was, especially for the sake of her stomach. "I will meet you back in a few!" And with that, her blue figure darted towards the scent of flesh. Silent Spy Gwee flapped her wings up in the air softly, ready to perform a swoop-down aerial attack on her tiny prey that stood beneath her. Oh, how innocent it was, standing there with great big blue eyes of wonder, looking around the vast snow. So innocent.
In a moment it'd be a roasted rabbit, lying on the ground helpless. Gwee swooped down to it, releasing a flame at the rabbit. She let the flames reside as she got closer and snatched it in her mouth, taking a deep bite into it before flinging what was left of it to the ground. She chewed on the meat in her mouth and smiled. It wasn't the best rabbit she had ever tasted, but it was certainly fun eating it. After slowly finishing her morsel, Saphira flew back towards Gwee, and smiled as she saw she was finished as well. She landed comfortably, and looked towards her friend. "I feel much better." She said as she licked her lips.
When Saphira was hungry, she was never ashamed to admit it. It was nice, though, that Gwee wasn't mad or looked down at her for her hefty stomach. "Fire Breathing is a wonderful thing, especially because all of our meals are wonderfully warm." Having such a skill was not only useful, but made everything taste better.

http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?page=1&t=7576403#97644017[PRP] Opposite Sins (Ariston and Troilus) Jan 25th 07 After a productive morning of spending time entirely to himself, Ariston sighed at the current lack of attention he was getting. It was too cold to soar in the sky in front of all of the lovely mares, so he found his days being long and boring. He hated the winter for many reasons, especially for what it did to his lucious skin and hair. Cursing under his breath, he stomped forward, feeling hot steam rush out of his nose, only to be absorbed into frost. His mind continued to complain to itself, and he muttered little nicknacks here and there.+Sephiros Immortal+ Troilus, however, really didn't have anything against the winter. He was snuggled up under his customary tree with his legs tucked against his body, and a bit of lingering snow adorning his nose and being caught up between his ears and spotting his rump. Yes, it was cold, but soon enough he was fairly sure that he'd be able to persuade someone to come and sit with him, that would make the whole affair more comfortable.
A small family of rabbits had made themselves a nest between his forelegs and body...which was all right for now...they were like a heating pad...and their presence insured that he didn't have to go anywhere to get food, as they were forever scavenging to repair the nest when Troilus decided to munch on the dried grasses they'd collected. They didn't seem to mind that either. Everyone was benefiting. As the golden male continued forward, he felt his body halt at one of the strangest sights he had ever seen. There seemed to be a mush of stuff sitting under a tree. 'Rotton flesh?' His mind questioned, though his ears heard the faint sound of breath. He sensed some creatures around the pile of stuff, and his face stayed still but fully expressed the look of a question mark.
He crept a tad further, only to smell something horrid and confusing. He really wasn't sure what was going on, so he just stood their quietly. He noticed the trees had become more enclosed, so he folded his wings gently and carefully to avoid any threats from scratches. Whatever the 'thing' was, it was greatly disturbing his trane of thought.+Sephiros Immortal+ Troilus actually didn't smell all that bad...he moved every so often and when necessary went down and gave himself some semblence of a bath, but then, Ariston didn't know that. Raising his head, he rather lazily blink at the other Soquili, as he had sensed the other's presence. Well well well...it looked like some dandy out for a stroll on this brisk winter afternoon.
"Hello..." For someone so very obviously lazy and neglectful, his voice was rich, deep, a very nice and almost alluring tone, probably one of his very few positive assets. "Are you lost?" He rather doubted it, but it was polite to ask, and if so Troilus could always give directions. He wouldn't bother to SHOW the other the way or anything like that, however. Ariston almost fell over when he noticed a head rise out of the clump. "Uh..errm.. hello.." He said, finally. Regaining his elegant stature, he raised his neck and shifted his position, eyeing the spectator below him. "No I am not lost, I was just casually walking. I didn't see you here." His last sentence almost made him chuckle, and although he highly disaproved of the Soquili in front of him, he stayed polite.
"And who might you be, dear fellow? My name is Ariston, its a pleasure." The words came out dry and blunt, though he forced himself a slight grin. He was extremely uncomfortable, but he could never show such a feeling, even in front of a Soquili like him. Feeling his perfect hair next to him, he gleamed at his beauty, but continued to watch the male in front of him.+Sephiros Immortal+ Troilus rather slowly grinned at the other Soquili...not seeming to care that the other was a shining, glistening contrast to his own ill-kept self. "Well that's good t'hear, I would absolutely sympathize if you had gotten yourself lost, however...there are all sorts of confusing things hereabouts...which is one of the many reasons why I don't go out much, save me plenty of trouble...as well as all the goodbeasts out there who would have to help me should I wind up in a pickle."
"I am Troilus...and this is my tree." Wings beat once...infinitely slow...once up...and then down...the vines that entangled them making the softest of rustling noises. The vines were very hardy...and seemed to take root wherever the winged male decided to rest...he rather liked them and would occasionally converse with them when there was nothing more intelligent about. He was not discomfitted at all by the presence of the other, far from it. Ariston looked at him curiously as he spoke, wondering how on earth he managed to do so. "Troilus, I hope you don't mind me asking," He paused for a second and continued, "but how on earth do you.. live in such a way?" The thought of it was more than dreadful, and such a tactic of life just did not make sense to him. "You are, a sin, correct?" That part of the question was most interesting to him, for he was always intrigued to run into some of the other sins out there.
Besides Wrath, who was one he saw on a normal basis, he had not had many runins with any others. In a way it may have been a good thing, especially for the sake that it would most likely end in violence. He was already despised by most of the 'commonfolk' for his brilliance, so with the sins he could hardly imagine. "It seems you and I are, opposites?" He chuckled at himself, but at the same time was thankful for his state of beauty.

http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=7598513[PRP] Just My Luck (Elizabeth and Ariston) Jan 27 07 Cajmera Long days tended to bleed into longer nights; at least, that was the way that things seemed to go these days. Elizabeth wasn't exactly sure how long it had been since she had started off on her 'tour', but one thing was certain: she was ready to be home.
Home...
The word had such a pleasant ring; even thinking it evoked memories of a campfire, apples, and a two-legger whose smile could light up a starless night. Yet she had left that home behind, and for what? Adventure? If days and nights alone in the wilderness could be called that, perhaps. Being terrified, cold, hungry, lonely...there had been moments when all of the above seemed appropriate.
She was not a wild Soquili, and if she would have realized that sooner, life would have been much more pleasant. As it was, she has once again turned her step homewards, eager to resume the life she had held in the past. But it would be many more days before she made it back, and she had long since realized that she was not meant to travel by night.
It was night now; a bright night with a full moon and a dazzling array of stars to keep her company. She had even found a perfect placy to sleep, a little dell by the river where she felt safe enough to curl up and give herself over to sleep... Ariston found himself bathing in the starlight, and he soared pleasantly and silently over the dark land. He enjoyed such moments, although they were always better in the presence of a female. Either way, he gleamed at the way his hair felt as it drifted behind him. It had been some time since he was able to fully be this comfortable, and he was thankful for it.
In the lapse of a few silent moments, he felt his lips hum delicately to the beat of the breeze. Although it felt foolish, he couldn't resist, for the scenary was too beautiful to be ignored. Seeing everything at peace made him forgot about many moments filled with either drama or rage. They seemed so worthless to him now, and he reconsidered why he would ever waste such time.
He continued forward, focuscing on simple glimmers here and there on the land below him. A river was apparent in front of him, and he made a quick turn so he would be able to land near it comfortably.Cajmera Sleep was pleasant. Sleep was nice. Sleep was one of the best darn ways to pass the night...
And yet for some reason, Elizabeth couldn't fall asleep.
It made no sense. She was tired; she had the soothing sound of the river to lull her to sleep, and a very comfortable place to sleep. So why couldn't she fall asleep?
Sighing softly, the mare shuffled around a bit in her grassy nook. Perhaps it was the way she was lying. Or perhaps it was the wind. Well, breeze would probably be a better word, but it was the same principle.
Finally though, she came to the annoying but inevitable conclusion: she simply could not fall asleep. "Bollocks!" How was she supposed to travel the next day if she couldn't get any rest?? As Ariston was closer to the ground, one of his senses picked up, and it was his favorite kind of sense. It was definitely the smell of a female, and this shocked him for a second. He could never complain about running into a female, but at the same time, the ones he usually found were his familiar night lurkers. The smell he noticed was a different one though, and he was of course curious and interested.
He landed almost silently, only because he didn't want to startle to sleeping creatures around him. The stars above him gave out a bright guidelight, so he was able to see the area around him well. His white body erased the darkness that covered him, and he finally saw the glare from the river.
He quietly stepped over clumps of grass until he was standing and staring at his beautiful self in the river. 'Perfect.' he told himself, and he smiled at the mirror in front of him.
No matter where he went, he could always find the guidance he needed from his glorious reflection. Cajmera For a few long moments, Elizabeth lay quietly in the grass, willing herself to sleep. Finally, though, she sighed again and rose to her feet, a graceful action in spite of her fatigue. Obviously if she couldn't fall asleep this way, there was something that still needed to be done. Mayhaps she had something on her mind? That had to be it, since she wasn't hungry and didn't have the uneasy feeling that she was in danger.
Or maybe she was just thirsty.
The sound of the river, which had been acting as lullaby, now drew her attention in a different way. Tilting her head to one side, she considered the idea for a mere moment before trotting up from the little dell she'd been nesting in, heading straight for the water...
...Only to stop as soon as she reached the top of the hill. Something didn't seem quite right, and it didn't take her long to figure out what that was, not this night.
The white form stood out from the surrounding darkness like a beacon. Hair like spun moonbeams blew lightly in the breeze, accentuating the whiteness of the stallion's body. And stallion it was; big, brawny, and much to close.
Elizabeth's mind was reeling. How had she not picked up on his approach? A second look drew her attention to his wings, making her realize that he must have flown in. Well, that would explain things, but that still didn't-
Wings. Eyes widening, her gaze flew back to those wings, finally noting with horror their shape. Those weren't the bird wings of a wind, nor the thin wings of a flutter. Unless she was wonderfully mistaken...she was staring at a kalona.
Her first instinct was to panic. From everything that she had ever heard about the breed, kalonas were brutal and vicious. If she had wings, then she would have had at least a little advantage. But since she was grounded...
At least he hadn't seemed to have noticed her. She had come up behind him as he stared at the water, so with a little luck, she'd be able to get away without him noticing her. Consequently, she quietly began to back down the hill, eyes on her supposed foe. Last thing she needed was to be surprised! Ariston felt as though he was being watched, so he hoped the mysterious female was near him. Scoping the area, his wings drifted silently next to him. It was always a hit or miss feeling, and luckily his was in the mood for some fun.
Though, at the same time, it was quite late at night, and he wasn't at full energy. He had a couple of options, some being silly, and some being natural. He wanted to see who was lurking around him, and wondered if she would ever appear.
Biting his tongue playfully, he finally said, "Is anyone there? Well, I know you are there, though it would be nice if I could see you." He wisped his tail into the air playfully, feeling a young sensation pleasure his thoughts. There were so many questions on his mind, who was she, what did she look like, where was she from... The excitment kept him drunk with midnight fun, and he awaited any kind of response. Cajmera Elizabeth froze. She'd ben able to take about four steps backwards before the kalona had spoken, and in the course of those four steps had nearly come to the conclusion that she was safe. Now, though, she wasn't nearly as sure.
It could be that the kalona was bluffing. They were a devious bunch, after all, so maybe this was a method of luring in the unwary; after all, what reason would you have to doubt that they were serious? This particular kalona souned like he knew EXACTLY where she was, for God's sake, or else why would he sound so amused?
That amusement suddenly instigated a whole new sense of panic into the mare's heart, one that almost jolted her back into mobility. He sounded amused. And why, pray tell, would a heartless and violent creature be amused at the prospect of someone else being around? Good lord, he must be a positive sadist!
This was not good. She was a decent enough fighter and knew how to use her horn, but she was first and foremost a lady; all of her fighting skills were defensive. And how did one defend against a foe the size of the white kalona? She'd be dead before she could even heal herself!
Well, she wasn't going to die tonight. Not if she could do anything to prevent it! She'd call his bluff, that she would; he wasn't going to get HER to believe him!
So now that she'd gotten her ability to move back, she back to creep back down the hill once again. Only a few more steps, and then she'd be out of sight... Ariston frowned, only because there was no fun to be at hand, well, at least at the moment. Why was the mare not gracing him with her presence? Right then, he realized it was definitely a mare that he had never met before.
Of course, it would never occur to him that he was a threat. Such things never struck his mind, he could never be a threat to females in particular. Still, he pondered at what he was doing wrong with the situation, hoping to recover himself.
Sniffing the air, he noticed she was still near, though fading a bit. Sighing, he decided to try again. "This is sad. I am not interesting to you, mlady? I wish to at least know why.." Never had a female brushed him off in such a way. Usually, they came to him running!
Still, he was interested in the mere fact that it seemed to be a challenge. It wasn't that he was feeling competitive, he just wanted to understand the situation better.
"This is sad.." He muttered out again, pouting. Cajmera Horses were never meant to walk backwards, especially not downhill, especially when they weren't totally focused on their surroundings. Elizabeth was paying too much attention to the kalona, and that showed when she suddenly felt her left hind ankle turning on an unnoticed rock. Biting back the cry of surprise and pain, she was nonetheless unable to avoid the stumble and fall to the ground brought about by her unexpected injury, and the associated sounds.
But she had an excuse for her inattention. When the kalona had said 'mlady', she was suddenly all too aware that not only was he not bluffing, he'd SEEN her. The shock had caused her to step back abruptly, resulting in her fall, and now she was roundly cursing her own foolishness in not impl racing off when she had the chance. She could heal her ankle easily, but that would take a few minutes and who knew what would happen in the meantime?
She'd visibly paled at the mere thought, but quickly marshalled herself. There was a chance that he was still bluffing, and she would stick to that hope. That in mind, she turned and touched her horn to the injured ankle...and waited. The thump that rang in Ariston's ears made him fully change his position, and he faced an entirely different direction. Whatever had happened to the female did not sound pretty. He trotted forward, but stopped, realizing he may startle her if he rushed too quickly.
"Are you alright?!?!" he rang out, with a worried tone. "Do you need help? Or.. are you still not there?" He really wasn't one who had patience, so a part of him was getting tired of being ignored. Who knew how long he could handle such a game, but at the same time, he worried for the sake of the female.
"Miss? Miss?" He hooves shuffled over various rocks that seemed to be the problem for such a mess. "Goodness, where did these come from?" He eyes looked down at the sight of a slight hill.
Finally, everything (in Ariston's small blonde covered brain) was starting to make sense.((XDDDDD <3) Cajmera Even as Elizabeth was wincing from the obvious fact she'd been found, she was taken aback at the note of concern that was unmistakable in the kalona's voice. But that didn't make sense. Kalonas didn't feel sympathy, she'd been told as much before she ever left the teepee. It must be a ruse.
But ruse or no, keeping silent wasn't going to do any good anymore, not now that he was looking almost right at her. He seemed to think that she was ignoring him, and the last thing that she needed was to provoke him.
Even though she felt as though her heart had jumped into her gullet, she managed to keep her voice calm. "I'm fine, thank you. There's no need for you to concern yourself, I have everything under control." And indeed she did; she could feel the soothing in her ankle as her horn's magic mended the injury and eliminated the swelling; sometimes it was good to be a unicorn.
Unfortunately, being a unicorn couldn't count for much if your enemy was a kalona, and she had inadvertantly lead him straight to her. Well, this wasn't over yet! Finally, a light and elegant voice awoke from the blackness beneath him. His eyes jumped further and further, until he saw what looked like a unicorn. Strangely enough, he had never ran into one before.
"That is good to hear, and I believe you in this. Though, are you sure you don't need some assistence? This hill looks awful." He imaged himself taken such a fall, and his back legs winced as if in pain.
He wondered what her next move would be, and where he was standing, the view and stars were quite lovely. "Why don't you join me up here? It is lonely star bathing myself." He felt a light grin develop, and he anxiously awaited to see her face. The only thing that lightly sparked occasionally was what looked like a horn. He wondered if his own looked as lovely as hers, and he oogled the beauty. Cajmera He sounded so sincere, it was almost touching. Only almost, though, because she KNEW that there had to be an ulterior motive. But why on earth hadn't she been warned about THAT aspect of kalona character, this character manipulation? It was lucky for her that she had been able to identify the wings correctly, or she would be believing that she'd just met her first decent stallion. Just her luck.
Still, as long as he was being civil, she would be the same. Her ankle was almost fully healed, if she was any judge, so she just had to demure a little bit longer. A pity, actually...no, the pity was that she hadn't lit out of there before he'd found her!
Horn still touched to her ankle, she nevertheless managed a slight shake of her head, unaware that he actually couldn't see her. "I assure you, Sir, I have everything under control. My own inattentiveness set me back, nothing more. And while your offer for companionship is both kind and flattering, I was actually on my way to bed. It's late, and I'm rather tired, so I doubt I'd be very pleasant company." A slight lie, which was permissable under the circumstances. And she WAS tired...even if she couldn't sleep. "On your way to bed, that is no fun." He stepped back a few steps, hoping she would finally come approach him. "I still haven't even been able to get your name." His wings fluttered quickly, only to let off some of the annoyance he was currently feeling.
"Is there something that.. is making you not want to approach me at all?" He felt a churn in his stomach, and he frowned, only because he didn't know how to react. "This uh, has never really happened to me before, I am not sure how to react or what to say." He scoffed, feeling his chest swell up. "I am quite uncomfortable."
Wisping his tail up, he turned his head away, only so she couldn't see any signs of glaring. How could a female not want to aproach him of all creatures? Maybe she wasn't worth his time, then.Cajmera For some odd and inexplicable reason, Elizabeth was suddenly annoyed. He sounded annoyed, even irritated, and what right did he have to take that tone with her? He didn't even know her, so what right did he have to try and act all indignant? Well!
Lifting her head from her ankle, she carefully rotated her foot, testing for soundess. But once she had ascertained all was well, she paused. Retreat was obviously not an option, not with him looking at her...if she was going to face him, then she wouldn't handicap herself anymore. That in mind...
Tossing back her curls, she rose to her feet and carefully and deliberately climbed to the hilltop, rotated to face the kalona, and adopted a demure but firm stance. "My apologies if my behavior distresses you, Sir, but I'm afraid that I can't understand WHY it should be otherwise. You are a stranger to me, a strange male at that, and it is mere common sense to assume the worst of everyone that one encounters in such circumstances. Since I don't know what sort of character you are, is my behavior so unusual? And as for introductions, I have always been taught that it's the height of impropriety to ask such things without first supplying one's own name."
There, she'd done it. Stated her piece, and likely managed to piss him off as well, but there wasn't a single untruthful word in what she had just said so he'd just have to deal with it! And if he tried anything, she'd just gore him, damned if she wouldn't!
Or that was the idea, at least. But thoughts hatched in relative safety had a way of seeming extremely unlikely in close quarters, especially this sort of close quarters. And seeing this kalona from the back was completely different from seeing him from the front...
He was huge. She'd never been around a stallion this tall before, and her whole bloody herd was stallions! Were all kalonas this big, or was this guy just a fluke? And what was up with that mane? It was so shimmery, silky, and light...it was gorgeous, the sort that a mare would die to possess, but what was it doing on a stallion? And what was up with those chains?
Looking at the chains suddenly brought home another realization to the mare: she didn't have her gown. The last ripped shread of fabric had been lost some time ago, and she hadn't yet made it back to the teepee to get it replaced...
Good Lord, she was in the presence of a stallion and didn't have any clothes! She was completely naked, and even the knowledge that 99% of the Soquili population went about unclothed could stop the blush that raced like wildfire across her face. This was NOT happening! "Ahh," Ariston said, quietly and calmly. "Though, don't you think you are analyzing the situation quite too much? I mean, before even approaching me you assumed something that wasn't." Flipping his tail into the air almost too naturally with dramatics, he went back to his speech. "Encounters are usually dangerous if you make them that way. Obviously, there are some characters to be warned about, but did you seriously see a violent nature in muah?" Fluttering his eyelashes, he chuckled happily, enjoying the sound of his voice.
"I have heard such a thing before, and it always seems to be from females. Though, from many they only are intemidated by my beauty. What else is intemidating besides that?" Putting his nose in his hair, with his tilted head he looked back at Elizabeth, nuzzling his soft mane. "I am sure you can appreciate a nice mane, I noticed your wonderful curls from afar." Realizing he was discussing hair made him straighten up and face her more directly, and he realized how silly he may have sounded.
"Either way, I am glad I was able to finally chat with you. I would love it if you would tell me more about yourself, Miss Swann. I have not had the honor of running into you until now." Cajmera ...What on earth was going on? While Elizabeth had expected some sort of counter or else a direct attack as a result of her words, she had never once considered the possibility of wounded pride and a discussion about hair. HAIR, for God's sake? How many stallions went off on tangents about hair? The fact that it was his own hair he'd started out praising was even more bewildering...
As soon as he airily commented on his own beauty, though, Elizabeth suddenly thought she had his game. She'd heard that sort of self-adoration before, as well as that sort of you-me compliment. The delivery was off, but there was enough in common for her to immeadiately become wary...for a whole new reason.
But she wasn't going to show him that wariness. No, she'd see what he had to say for himself. Lowering her lashes demurely, she presented the perfect picture of ladylike decorum. "Violence isn't the only thing that a lady has to be warned about, you know. Threats to one's virture are just as severe as threats to one's life in certain cases."
There, the challenge was out. And until she heard what he had to say, she wasn't going to say any more. A spectacle she was, Ariston watched how elegantly she presented herself. For one thing she was correct as well, and Ariston knew plenty on that issue. Though, he still was confused to why she seemed so uncomfortable. Narrowing his gaze, he backed up a little, wondering if that would help at all.
"My my my, are you always this quiet? For some reason, I find something like that hard to believe. Why are you holding your tongue in front of me?" Putting on a slight grin, he turned away for a second. "I thought I already made it clear that I accepted a lady like yourself worthy for such discussion." Ariston was starting to get more confused by the second, and when he got confused, that usually meant he would start to lose his temper. Although a lady seemed to be in front of him, he had his moments of ticks.
Sighing, he looked at the stars, enjoying their grasping attention that they were capable of. As he strayed away from his thoughts of the female, he wondered what made the stars so successful in attention. 'Who doesn't look at stars?' he kept thinking, and he chuckled at his random thinking.
"Well, this conversation has been, awkward?" He said, sternly while finally looking back at her. "What is it with females, lately? Is there some rumor going around about me?" Laughing as he spoke, he thought about such cicumstances and the humor behind it.
Cajmera Worthy? Worthy in what way? And for what reason? Whether or not the kalona's words were meant to be a compliment, Elizabeth was starting to frown, and visibly. He'd reminded her of Guilian, she was now positive of that fact...but he seemed to be much less direct that the cardinal stallion. If this Ariston had the same things in mind, he was much more subtle. And confusing. Did he always jump from topic to topic like this?
Meditating on the stallion's behavior as she was, another flush slowlycrept unbidden across the mare's face. She had been accusing him of having ulterior motives, but she herself had so far been acting in a similar way. Hadn't she made up her mind about his character without even talking to him? Had she been able to get away without being noticed, that would have worked; but there was no justification for giving credence to rumors. And she'd never met or even seen a kalona; he might not actually BE a kalona, in which case...she was being rude for no reason. How appalling!
Her cheeks still stained crimson, she immeadiatley promised herself that she would learn to avoid these snap judgements. But for now, hopefully she'd be able to redeem herself.
That in mind, she gave the stallion a warm and slightly apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, Mr. Ariston, if my behavior has upset or offended you. I merely forgot the importance of using one's own judgement over rumor mongers, and allowed myself to be blinded to proper behavior. That in mind, let me start over."
Stepping back slightly with one hoof, she swept him a curtsy, duckin her head gracefully. "My name is Elizabeth Swann, and it's a pleasure to meet you." Rising back up to her feet, she smiled slightly at his last comment, then shrugged her shoulders. "And I can't speak for any other mares; your name and face are both unfamiliar to me. Or have you done something that merits such a rumor?"
Just because she was being nice didn't mean that what she had heard HADN'T been true, after all...and he was still a strange stallion. "I am flattered, m'lady." He gave her a true smile and finally felt his calm self flow back. "You did not offend me at all, I was just upset at first, of course. I was excited to finally hear your voice, and then see your lovely face. I hope that isn't too overwhelming." Winking at her, he turned his head away for a second, to peer into the landscape in a posingly matter. After he was satisfied with his random thought, he went back to the lady at hand. Hearing her last comment, brought his immediate attention back.
He chuckled, and looked at her carefully. "No, I have done nothing of this sort. I just seem to be in ill favor with some of the mares, and the reasoning I never know why." Shooting his shoulder up dramatically, he looked back at her with a flustered expression. "Being a gentleman seems to give off the wrong impression at times, so I become utterly confused."
It seemed with males and females, he could never do anything right. It could have been his ignorance, or his lack of paying attention that drove others crazy.
He strut forward past her, only to make a small circle and face her in a different pose. "So, tell me something about yourself, Mrs. Swann. I do enjoy talking about myself, though I am interested to hear more about you."Cajmera M’lady…how nice it felt to be addressed with a modem of respect again. Since coming out to dwell among her new herd, Elizabeth had gotten used to simply being ‘one of the gang’. Though to be quite frank, she was relishing getting back to even that much respect, given that the stallions she’d met thus far on her trip were QUITE reprehensible. In fact, reprehensible was probably putting it mildly!
The mare’s eyes narrowed slightly, remembering the last stallion she’d met; how he had belittled and insulted her, spoken to her with disgusting familiarity and given the impression that SHE was beneath HIS contempt! The very idea!
But now she was unnecessarily distracting herself, which was never a good thing. Besides, she’d sworn to erase all of those unpleasant memories from her mind. That in mind, she managed to grace Ariston with a truly sincere smile. However, before anything else was said, there was a correction in order.
“That would be MISS Swann, Mr. Ariston, though the intent is quite considerate of you, to say nothing of a nice change of pace from how things have been for me lately. And considerate as your offer is, I’d much rather listen to what you have to say about yourself.”
That would probably be the safest way to determine whether or not he was a threat; you could learn a lot about someone by listening to them. “Now that we’ve established you’re misunderstood, for example, you could tell me why? Though I can understand if that’s too personal a subject for you. We can talk about whatever you want, to be quite frank…”
She was rambling, but it was just so nice to be able to talk to someone again; to truly talk, and not defend. At least for the moment, she could simply enjoy a conversation. (LOL I meant to write Miss rofl Well, its sillier this way XDD )) His head titled to the side, and he let his grin expand into a curled smile. "Miss? Well, that makes me happier, in the sense that there is still a lady out there that is single." Fixing his confusing position, he realized he was starting to enjoy her silly means of conversation. Although he was confused by what she was even saying, her witty ways were intriguing him.
And of course, watching her speak kept his attention as well.
"It is strange to me though, to hear a lady want me to talk about myself. That is usually something that I am told to never do." Letting himself chuckle, he caught his attention back on her. "Misunderstood? I think quite not, actually. Others add judgement to who and what I am, though it does not make me feel any different. " It wasn't that the subject was too personal, he was just confused to her actual asking about it.
"Yes, I am a Kalona, and yes, I am speaking to you and not trying to eat you." Taking a small breath in, it had finally occured to him that something was missing; the mare had every right to question who and what the heck he was doing. "I tend to forget that my race seems to matter so much.."Cajmera Elizabeth could feel the blood rushing to her cheeks. She couldn't believe that she had been so obvious, but in the course of one sentence Ariston had managed to address exactly the issue that had dictated her behavior towards him. Had she really been so transparent that she mistrusted him by virture of breed alone?
Logic managed to remind her that he WAS a kalona, so it made sense that he would be aware of the stereotype. In fact, it was highly likely that he encountered reactions like hers on a regular basis and had consequently fallen in the habit of issuing a disclaimer.
Logic didn't do anything to settle her nerves, though. She must have offended him horribly with her behavior, there were no two ways about it.
Perhaps if she hadn't been so hung up on the details, she might have paid more attention to his first statement, the one about her single status. After all, he HAD reminded her of the detestable Guilian; but self-debasement didn't usually leave a lot of room for notice of much else.
Cheeks still crimson, she nodded her head slightly at the stallion. The question, though, was what to do now. Was an apology appropriate? Perhaps. But what if he HAD just been generalizing? Then she might offend him with an apology...this was far too complicated! Best to go with a safe route.
Glancing away in nervousness, Elizabeth's voice was soft. "In my own experience, you are the first kalona I've ever met. All I knew of your breed was rumor, and that rumor was less than flattering. Assuming that my exposure is routine, then perhaps that's why so many tend to judge on breed alone."
Not quite an apology, but hopefully close enough without offending. Still, Elizabeth wasn't brave enough to look at his face; if he WAS annoyed, she'd rather not see the rage in his eyes. Eyes had a habit of being far too intense to begin with, and burning with anger...the thought alone was enough to make her wish she'd taken the chance to flee when she had it.((Goofs are amusing XD)) "Oh please, no need to be so formal. I appreciate the kind gestures and words, but it is something I deal with constantly." He let his face shift to a dramatic expression. "The Soquili around here are always faced with such nonsense. I feel terribly sorry for them, the Kalona around her are so hideous in every nature. The ask for respect but yet attack all that admire, what the heck is that." Realizing he was going into one of his Kalona rants, he took a deep breath and returned to the mare.
"If they need to worry about something, they should worry about the fact that I am a sin." He winked at her, and shifted his hair over to the other side of his head in an elegant fashion.
"Though, as your first Kalona experience, I hope to remain the most memorable. Tell all your friends that you 'survived'. " Letting himself laugh, he hoped that she finally would see that her thoughts on him were false. The mare was confident and bright, and there were no reasons for Ariston to try any mindgames on her. He also was enjoying their conversations, and hoped she would open up more. Cajmera Elizabeth relaxed slightly, both amazed and embarrassed at how this little interview was going. In spite of her earlier behavior, she was fast (and rather shamefacedly) coming to the realization that Ariston was far more mannerly than virtually any stallion she'd met so far, barring her friend Zaphiro. And that realization made her all the more regret her initial misgivings.
At least he was gentlemanly enough to not bring up her disgraceful behavior; she was thrilled to be able to enjoy an actual conversation without having to worry about rudeness.
Though it was quite fascintating to listen to him criticize his own race. The breed that he was describing sounded eerily like what she'd been warned against, though, and that knowledge brought a slight shiver to the mare. So there WERE soquili like that out there...a terrifying concept, to be sure.
But one thing that he said caught her ear. "A...sin? What do you mean, you ARE a sin? Don't you mean that you DO sin?" Which logically made more sense. After all, everyone was guilty of sinning at some point. "If so, that's nothing to be ashamed about."
She smiled as she spoke, sure that he was teasing her. Did he think that she'd assume he was perfect otherwise? Silly stallion, as though she was that naive! "And I'm sure that no other kalona experience will be quite this interesting, that much is certain." Since she planned on keeping her distance from the breed, that would be easier than anything! "Well, sin is something that we all do, whether we realize it or not.." Pausing slightly, he looked at her, unashamed of what he was. "I am the sin of Pride, one of the seven deadly of course. Most Soquili are unaware of it, but we live and breathe just as you all do." Putting on slightly twisted smile, he gleamed at his truth, and ignored any ill feelings from the mare. "Have you had any run ins with other sins? Some are quite violent." He chuckled, thinking about his friend Wrath.
Whenever he spoke of such issues, everything about his appearance tended to make more sense then. Engulfing his nature into every glimmer on his body, he radiated every aspect of Pride about himself. It wasn't just a title; it was a way of life for him, just as his other sins decided to live.
"You should be lucky you have not run into any other Kalonas, they are such idiotic creatures. They would not appreciate anything about you, when really you deserve much more praise then them." Keeping his voice stern, Ariston was not one who complemented; he spoke from his mind seriously when he wanted to. He knew a spectacle when he saw one, and other Kalona could never match that of the unicorns.
"Though, you seem very sane, that is to say," He said, smiling, "I recently had a run in with a UniKalona? That made me question what Unicorns are.. though you seem just fine." The female he ran into was vicious, twisted, and even crazier than other Kalona females. The mare in front of him seemd to have none of these things.Cajmera Elizabeth's smile had faltered as she listened to Ariston speak, and now she was eyeing him with a completely new sense of intimidation. If what he was saying, then that meant that incarnations of the other sins were roaming the land...and if she remembered the list correctly, that could be very bad. She didn't think that encountering Sloth would be so bad, or Gluttony...but what about Wrath? Or Lust?
Harrumph. For all she knew, she might have met Lust already in the guise of that blasted cardinal. But no...he hadn't mentioned that, and besides; he looked like a bird! If Ariston truly was a Sin, the fact that he didn't really resemble anything else seemed telling. And somehow...the way that he had said he was Pride made her believe it.
She wasn't exactly afraid of that knowledge on it's basic level; after all, Pride wasn't necessarily dangerous...was it? Unless he was intrinsically evil because he was a sin..which ALSO made sense.
And he was a kalona. A sin and a kalona. That had to mean something, right?
So she was a bit more guarded, a bit more wary, when she answered the stallion. "I don't think that I've met any other sins, but if I did then they never identified themselves as such."
She was aware that he was making more comments about Kalonas, and then something about unikalonas (whatever those were; she'd never so much as HEARD the term before), but she was far too hung up on the sin issue to really be aware of that.
How was one supposed to act around a sin? "Are the sins...dangerous?" Not that she'd expect him to admit it if it was the case...or would he? He was Pride, right? So that meant that he must be proud of what he did...right? So he'd admit it?
She really hoped so >> "Heh, I'm sure its not suprising that I would blatently abmit my sinhood," He was unbelievably proud of his sinful heritage, and of the other sins. "To be the representation of something bigger, it truly is an amazing feeling." He noticed she seemed to have tensed up, and he enjoyed her reaction. He drained from her the fear and uncertainty she was showing so openly, and he naturally smiled towards her, hiding some of his other feelings away from her.
"Of couse sins are dangerous." Rolling his eyes dramatically, he chuckled at her reaction. "A sin in itself is dangerous. When others commit sins, they are dangerous. We represent such sins, naturally." Loving the way he sounded, he continued on, especially since he wanted to explain it as best as he could. "Let's put it this way: My buddy Wrath, is angry, all the time. So, of course he is unbelievably dangerous, especially in the physical sense. Now, there are other kinds of dangers, but they are just expressed differently."
Feeling a slight shiver develop from the wind, he let his wings loose, and moved himself around to regain some bloodflow. "I already explained to you, though." He said, slowly. "Just because I am a Kalona, and just because I am a sin, doesn't mean I always listen to what I am "supposed" to do." Winking at her again, he flipped his tail, proud of his arrogant nature. Why should he listen to what other people told him? There is no right way, unless its his way.Cajmera ...Elizabeth didn't even know how to react to that. He seemed so SURE of himself, that in and of itself was a little disconcerting. She'd never been around anyone withhat sort of confidence, and at the moment she wasn't sure how to comment on it. What were you even supposed to say to that, anyway?
Eyeing the stallion for a moment, Liz decided that at least for the time being, the best way to deal with it was NOT to deal with it.
"So, you've never met a unicorn before?" Hello, backtracking! Ariston was not one who was very keen, though he still picked up on a weird feeling from the mare. Either way, he shrugged it off, and looked at her, even though she didn't ask any more of what they were discussing a few seconds ago.
"You are indeed the first. I usually catch many winged in the skies, though a Unicorn, nope." Nipping at his wing, he turned away from her, feeling grumpish because she did not seem to be impressed with anything anymore. He had put in too much effort for one female, and it was starting to piss him off.
"You are, afraid, no?" He said, finally looking up from his wing. Cajmera Understandable there wouldn't be many meetings with unicorns in the sky. Unicorn horns were quite powerful in their own right, but absolutely no help in terms of aerial locomotion. Hell, if that was the case than she likely would have been home a long time ago!
His question, blunt as it was, caught the mare slightly off-guard. And she couldn't even blame it on luck!
Blushing a bit, she lowered her head and stared at his hooves, avoiding looking up at the looming stallion yet again. "A bit, yes. It's not every day you meet a representative of a evilly rumored race and then learn that they're an evil sin to boot." Blunt could be done by ladies as well! "Is that so strange?" "Of course its strange," He said, in an annoyed tone, "Only because I have definitely heard myself repeat over and over the same thing. If you are still seriously judging me on that, then I have no business here." Whipping his head up, he made a gesture to look down on her, only because of her constant questioning. "I understood the first time you mentioned that, but this is just nonsense now." He flicked his tail angerly.
"It seems there is nothing else that I can say, for everytime I try to bring up something of an interesting topic, you keep bringing up the same things." He said, in a gloomy tone.Cajmera Ariston might have been annoyed, but now he wasn't the only one. Elizabeth's eyes had widened in surprise when he first started speaking; after all, he had been acting a perfect example of a gentleman up until now. But now his tone was peevish, his words accusing; it was like a foal not getting its way and acting out on that grumpiness. The nerve!
After the initial shock wore off, the unicorn's eyes narrowed slightly, sizing him up yet again. "Considering that everything you say about yourself is something that could and is regarded as a threat to the rest of Soquilikind, I'd say that my reaction is downright mild, MISter Ariston. Most Soquilis would have fled by now, or something like that, yet here I am, giving you the benefit of the doubt in spite of evidence to the contrary! Yet if you feel that put out, obviously it doesn't matter regardless. GOOD DAY to you, Mister Ariston."
And with that, she had turned and was flouncing back down the hill to her dell, the drink completely forgotten and the stallion completely dismissed.

http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=7609901[PRP] What the F@C*K has happened to you? (Ariston and Wrath) Jan 28th 07 ( xp This RP is for Meeki and Tweeky >3 ) Ariston, after still feeling shocked about his encounter with the skinwalker, awoke that morning with one of the most horrible situations ever. His hair, tangled in a mess, lacked in its normal perfection, and lay flat next to his flushed face. His skin and body ached, and his white glow faded in the morning's shine. What had happened had done more to him then he had though, for the moment the female left him, his body feel entirely, leaving the night in a nightmarish blur.
His mind was still moldy and gray, and he growled at his pounding headache. His heart beat slowly and painfully, only because of the damage he had allowed to his perfect body.
Feeling the fresh breeze of a cool river, he slowly got up, feeling 100 pounds heavier than usual. He could still smell the frightened sweat that had engulfed him the night before, and he knew how badly he needed to sink into the water's freshness. After what felt like years of walking, he finally approached his cold but wonderful freshness. It was far to cold to fully go swimming, though he soaked bits of his body shamefully, feeling like a lost and injured soldier left in a battlefield. Meeki Wrath was furious, not that it was anything new to the large stallion. Everywhere he turned, there seemed to be sappy couples and with Spring coming soon, it would only get worse. He hated that thought. HATED it with a deep burning passion. He walked along the edge of the water before pausing to drink. He drank only enough to quench his thirst. He hated all positive feelings, including the enjoyment of fresh, cold water. Something caught his eye nearby and it took him a moment to realize who it was. "What the ******** happened to you?," he asked his sinful friend, "I've seen s**t come out looking better than you do at the moment." As vulgar as it might sound, Wrath believed it entirely. Ariston, while normally a beautiful (and obnoxiously so) Kalona looked.. quite the mess in his current state. The sight caught the angry stallion off guard. Shocked, still, and shameless, Ariston looked at his friend in utter shock. "What.. whhhhaaa?!" He lost his balance, falling dreadfully into the water. What was Wrath doing there?! He of course was happy to see his friend, and was thankful it was not a female, though, he thought it was early enough for his dreadful state to remain a secret.
Pretending to raise himself up elegantly, his body shivered under him at the feeling of icicles on his body. "I uhh, had a rough night." He answered, in his smooth and cool tone. 'Oh, nice one..' he kept thinking to himself. He knew Wrath could see through such crap.
"What about you? I haven't seen you in forever, I was getting lonely." He fluttered his eyes in his abnoxious gander, and realized his hair lay soaking next to his even more pale skin. "I bet you are pleased to see me this way?" He pouted angrily. Meeki Wrath wasn't sure what to think. Should be be pleased to see Ariston in such a state? For some reason, it seemed to piss him off all the more to see his elegant friend in a disheveled mess. He wasn't sure what came over him but in the next instant, the large furious stallion was in the water too. He pushed himself past his friend to the other side and lowered his head to nudge Ariston back towards the land. "Out you go. You are going to get yourself @#!@! cleaned up, do you hear me? And then you are going to tell me what the @#!@ really happened to you. Then we are going to go kick some @#!@!! a**." Wrath wasn't good at this 'being nice' thing. Ariston was a sinful soquili such as himself, they were part of the same group and in some ways, almost like family. As far as he cared, if someone messed with one sin, they've messed with them all. The rage within him slowly started to grow at the thought. What Wrath had done not only shocked Ariston, but it gave him a sensation he had never imagined before. In the land of Soquilis, not one creature had ever bid him any kind of kindness or caring. Obviously, such things were unimportant to him, but it was a feeling of nature that scared him in this very moment, though he was extremely thankful for it. Through his golden glory, he felt utterly thankful to his friend at hand.
"Wrath.." He started to say, but then rethought his long speech of gratitude. "Thank you." He said, warmly.
When they were back on solid ground, Ariston thought about the best way to approach the situation. "I ran into a skinwalker, Desdemona." Her image burned his eyes, and through their puple shards he winced at the thought. "She was quite cruel, demanding, aggressive. It was something even I could not handle. It was frightening." What she said felt like a massive lecture, criticizing every part about him as wrong.
The issue she brought up to him, struck him as something important that he tended to ignore in the back of his mind. Before he spoke, he looked at Wrath, and in his brute and physical strength, he held the complete embodiment of a Kalona.
"Why am I a Kalona, Wrath?" It was a question he thought about on long sleepenss nights, where even his beauty could not calm him. "I still eat meat, enjoy hunts, but something about me is misplaced isn't it?" And there is was, the most painful aspect of himself. He truly adored EVERYTHING about his meaning to life, his image, his words.. but the one thing that was kept sleeping in his mind was the idea of being a Kalona.
"She made me feel like a disgrace, Wrath. Why must it be that I have to radiate my evil to truly be a Kalona? My evil is secretive and cunning, but obviously weak.." Meeki A Skinwalker, Wrath thought to himself. He had heard of this kind naturally, but he had never seen one. They were supposed to be far more deadlier than the Kalona. The fact it was a female that had sent his friend to his current state infuriated him. He hated females. "Why do birds #@@#! fly? Why do rabbits #!@@! hop. You are a Kalona because that's what you are. So what if you're pretty to look at. That doesn't make you any #@!@! less Kalona than me or the others. At least you're not #@!@! ugly." Wrath stepped onto the land and tried to shake out his hair. He hated being wet. He hated feeling chilled from the water. "Look," he said in all seriousness, a very rare occurance for the usually angry stallion, "We are all different. Not just by race, you know? We are all different, period. I've never seen two male Kalona the same way, nor two female unicorns, nor two regulars. Everyone is different. Everyone has their own idea of what a race implies, what they are all about. Who's right? Who's wrong? Is there a right or a wrong? I don't think there is. I think as long as you are true to who you are, then you are true to your race. I don't think there's a set anything and anyone that thinks so is @#!@! stupid. That Skinwalker is #@!@! stupid." "I would truly hate if I was ugly... " Letting himself finally chuckle at the small humor from his friend, he flopped his head to the side, hoping to let his massive mane drop some water. "Haven't you noticed though, how annoying most of these Kalona are? I think it is alright to find oneself superior, but because of your blood? That makes no sense to me." Being a part of the sins didn't feel like a 'superior' trip to Ariston, it just felt like a greater sense of destiny. The superiority he found was only in himself, obviously.
At Wrath's next gesture, however, Ariston wanted to let his jaw drop. Doing such a thing would resemble an 'ugly' nature, so he held in the impulse, but made his eyes widen instead. Wrath's words were so correct and truthful, that he could do nothing but stare. When his heart starting beating again, though, he finally spoke.
"I don't think there is a right either. I believed that was all that mattered. But, she kept bringing up issues of blood. Blood is something that never really occured to me. " His Kalona blood was only apprent to him when he would get pissed off in a situation. "Sometimes, I wake up in a horrid conversation, and feel my blood start to boil. This vicious sensation comes over me. That must have been what she meant." Sighing angrily, he realized how stupid it all sounded. "So I should embrace this rage? I do, when neccessary, though I believe that is not enough in respect to a Kalona. What a stupid way to represent life." He said, dramactically.Meeki Wrath nodded, clearly agreeing with the other Kalona, "I would rather be superior because I was bad a**, because I made an impression, because I $@!#@ deserved it than just because of what I was born as. I don't see how one can be so proud over something so common. Something others like them are born with or born as. Perhaps it's all they have, so they have to @#@!! cling to it like a foal to a teet." It wasn't just Kalona that had that problem, Wrath though to himself. It seemed like a lot of races were very similar in that regard but the Kalona were definately among the most severe cases. "Look at it this way, my friend. If I @#!@! pushed my beliefs on everyone else, and wanted them to think like me, believe like me, I wouldn't be special any damn more. If you were like everyone else, or everyone else was like you, would you be able to @#!#! look at yourself the same way?" Wrath paused briefly at Ariston's question before continuing, "Who the @#!@! cares what is enough for a Kalona? Do what is enough for Ariston. Rage doesn't become you. That would be like me thinking I'm a pretty thing. Though I am sure you get @!@! pissed off on occasion, handle it as well.. you would. Not as what you would feel is expected of you." Wrath really wanted to pay this Skinwalker a visit. He would not be enough to match her on his own but with some help.. perhaps she could be taught to stay away from the sins. That @#@! needed a rude awakening. "That's how I always thought, Aaarrg then why am I questioning myself this much?" With a slight snarl he put his head down, only angry at himself towards the issue. "In my entire life, I have never let anything do this to me. The fact that I am a Kalona, and that I don't judge others on race or blood, makes other Kalona think lowly of me, which I don't care about of course. But what I do deal with, is other Soquili looking at me as a disgrace, weakling. Instead of looking at me for my stunning nature and perfection, they only judge me on my appearance as a Kalona. Its utterly ridiculous." Bringing his head back to its proper position, his looked a bit past Wrath, only because of his constant thinking. "I hate being noticed as a Kalona. That's what I realize pisses me off. Maybe it is good I ran into that Skinwalker, because truthfully I don't give a @#$# about that."
Noticing that he swore felt unnatural and completely ungentlemanly, but he laughed, only because it was Wrath, and there was no reason to impressive him. Plus, it felt dang good.
Finally feeling a bit clearer after Wrath's second statement, he sighed reluctantly. "I do, agree with everything you state. I guess I never really thought of it that way. Of course I don't want that ugly sameness, its worthless overall. I enjoy being noticed, idolized, and even mocked." He did enjoy Wrath's late bit of comment, and felt himself smile at the vivid picture. "I would love to see you prancing around like a pretty boy, if you need any tips, just ask." He winked at him, but then brought his expression back to serious. He was extremely thankful so far for his advice.Meeki Wrath chuckled at the irony of such a question. The very sin that Ariston embodied needed re-awakened. "You are the last creature that should ever question anything about himself," he pointed out. "Who the #@!@ cares who thinks low of you? What makes them so important, ya know? What makes their word WORTH anything. You might be a pretty thing, but you are still a deadly thing. You are evil. It's in your gut. Being a Kalona has nothing to do with that. You'd be you even if you were a damn flutter. If they want to judge you because of how you @#!@! look, let them make that judgement. Let them underestimate you. You can work that to benefit yourself." Wrath would think such a thing could easily be used to his friend's favor. Ariston was a sin, and he was a Kalona, and as such, he was well equipped to handle just about any fight, sans that of a Skinwalker. He just need to believe in himself in other ways than physical beauty. "Me, pretty?, Wrath mocked back, "Hell would sooner freeze over". He enjoyed the way his friend spoke, he was fearless in every word. Ariston knew he also had such confidence, though it was completely different on the other hand. This bothered him, for he wanted to stay respected as not only beautiful, but as his true sin. "Underestimation would be my demise, though. It is so unnatural to even think of such. I hold myself to standards that are unreachable to others, though at the same time, I have never played with the idea of underestimation. "
What a strange word, it was so strange, a part of him kept questioning if he even understood its meaning fully. (( XDD Pretty boeys dunt hafta be smert ;D)) Either way, he shook off his thoughts and continued on.
"I mean, what would you do if others underestimated you? You would probably tear their faces off! The thought of having blood on my skin and hair.." He paused. "Absolutely hideous. Of course, a part of me would love to tear some worthless beings apart, but I don't know how it could damage my body." Ariston and Wrath physcially stood as complete opposites, and through this difference they balanced each other's strength out tremendously. "I have always imagined kicking some well deserved butt, though." He winked at him.

http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=7611199[PRP] Dragon Child? (Saphira and Ruin) Jan 28th 07 For Cherie and Tweek! Saphira lay curled on the ground, resting in the scorch of the frigid winter sun. She usually enjoyed the sun's heat, though the frost of the air made her curl up tighter than usual. The winter was pretty to her for awhile, though towards the end she felt longing for the signs of Spring. She had used her tail earlier to thrash at the soggy snow, and to create a comfortable sleeping spot. For some reason though, she was unable to rest.
Raising her head, she used her senses to admire the area around her. Everything seemed to be the same, and she sighed, hoping to catch sight of something new. Miss Cherie

Strange creature. She could have been a Kalona. She had horns and wings. Something about the way her jaw was shaped suggested to Ruin that she also had sharp teeth... but she didn't give him the sense that others of his kind did. How odd. How very odd. The foal pawed at the snow, a serious, brooding expression about his eyes. What exactly was this new mare? He had never seen anything like her in his life. The Kalona mare Gwee came the closest to resembling her of any creature he'd yet seen, and he knew full well that she was one of his kin. Distantly. He paced, nearing the female, but not close enough for it to be a danger. He needed to feel her out, to size her up... to test her out before he faced her. He was not afraid, but he was also not stupid, and he'd seen his share of violence during the course of his young life.
((He is gonna be so stunning when he is older ;;oo;; *fan-girlish Tweek* >w< Yeah, Saphira-complex is interesting, when Lil made her, we decided to keep the wings by her side like the wind soquilis, because she also has a good temper and such XD )) A blood red speckle found itself in the corner of her saphire eyes. His color resmebled the opposite of her cool scales. 'Interesting'.. she pondered. He was a fantastic spectacle, and his body showed that of dragon features. Something stood out as different, though. Feeling interested, she lifted her body up, standing calmly and facing him.
"If you are interested, please, I welcome you to come closer." Using her soft voice, she hoped that the little one would do such. He looked as if he was full of strength already, even as a child. This made Saphira's heart gleam, for she loved the brave sight of youth.
Her tail stayed alert though, as it always did. Acting with its own mind, it swung back and forth, chipping at rocks behind her.Miss Cherie ((Why thank you, Tweekend. I think the way she looks is quite fitting.))
Ruin took a step back, his expression unreadable. More and more this mare was making him think that she was not, in any way, a Kalona. Still, she did not seem a weakling, for all of her soft tones. Perhaps she might be worth a moment's pause from his quest for ultimate evil. Curiously, the colt took in the movement of her tail, raising an eyebrow when it seemed to him that it was behaving strangely. She sounded so calm, and its actions were anything but that. With a final glance at her tail, he padded forward cautiously, his legs buried quite deeply in the snow. He held his head high, the pride of his race showing very clearly in his carriage. He would not shame his parents by appearing (or actually being) weak at any time. But being a true Kalona was not entirely about strength. No, intelligence and cunning factored into it as well. He intended to display all of the above traits, and display them well.
She watched him strut forward, and enjoyed the emotions he evoked. Lately things around her had been a bit dull, so she was excited to watch him. She sensed many things from his expression and from his movements, and he fufilled what he desired.
"Please, no need to be so stiff little one, though I see you are quite strong. My name is Saphira, what may yours be?" Naturally, she allowed hot steam to flow from her nostrols as it usually did. She wondered if he was also able to breath fire yet, or if he could. Such a skill was so far only obtained from her and her friend Gwee.
There were many things that were curious to her still in this land, but at the same time, she was aware that she was still talking to a child. Figuring out how to approach him posed a challenge for her at the moment, so she carefully collected her thoughts.
Miss Cherie An incredibly intelligent child, if he did say so himself. Of course, he didn't say so, because he didn't know that she was thinking such thoughts. Ruin had some ability in reading expressions, but none at all in the realm of mind reading. A good thing, too. He'd probably make many more enemies than he needed to have this early on. It was in his nature to strut, to give every impression that he owned the ground he walked on. Self confidence was an important thing to possess, when one's kind was widely hated and feared. If he was not confident, was not put together, he would open himself up to attacks. And he wanted to be the one attacking.
He almost scoffed at her mention of his obvious qualities, but kept that back. It would not be wise to anger the larger, obviously well equipped (to handle him) Soquili. Interesting. She seemed to creature steam by breathing, or did it even require that much effort? Again, she reminded him of Gwee, who he had only seen from a distance. He had never spoken to the Kalona, never gone near enough to exchange words. Perhaps he never would. "My name is Ruin." A fitting name for a male of his type. He knew, down to his bones, that he embodied the word... or would one day embody it.
"Ruin." The word came out of her mouth sharply, and she suddenly narrowed her eyes to watch him closer. He was not like most children she was used to, and she raised her head higher, only because she felt it was needed. She changed her mindset, for she had hoped that the child possessed a slight amount of innocence left, but it became apparent that it was likely impossible.
Something about him brought out a harsher feeling in her mind. From her old land, he stood out like the crazed dragon of King Galbatorix. Being the strongest and taking over, it made her sick to her stomach. Either way, such qualities always seemed admirable at first, but after all Saphira had been through with Eragon, such a being could never exist again. The child was not as extreme as those from her homeland, though he posed a threat to the future.
The hot fire wanted to flow out of her nose at this point, but she knew there was no reason to do such a thing at this point. Just because her emotions were getting flustered, didn't mean there was a reason to blame it on Ruin..yet. She hadn't collected enough information from the colt, but with her there really was no way to control her emotions.
"Are you a Dragon, Ruin? Or of you of the race I have heard from here. Kalona I believe it is called. I am not used to such a word, I was hoping you could explain it to me." Her tongue curled under her teeth, and she narrowed her eyes in awaiting a response.

[ORP] In Thread RP Feb 2nd, 07 Miss Cherie Banshee: *Watches her sibling for a moment, and then turns her attention to 'preening' her wings, her task made more difficult due to her horn (and less than flexible neck)*
Tweekend Ghost- *Sees Banshee and trots over to her* Sis! Meeki Spectre grinned with pride as he stood off in the distance to watch his daughters. They had both grown up to be as lovely as their mother. Tweekend Caj! *luffs!!* Ghost-So are you! *gleams at her sister and notices her father in the distance* Have you used your wings yet Banshee?Miss Cherie Banshee shook her head, taking the time to admire Ghost's lovely black wings. She followed her sister's gaze, catching sight of her father, and fluttered her wings just a little. "I haven't tried flying yet. It's probably foolish, but I used to fall all the time when we were younger."
Tweekend Ghost- I'm sure if you practice you will be great at it. *flutters her wings with her* Everything looks different grown up *gazes about*((Thanks Ameh!! <33) Miss Cherie "I have no doubt that it will be easier now that my wings have grown." Banshee contemplated the prospect of flying. Surely, for all of its difficulty, it would be worth the effort. That kind of mobility had much to say for it. "Does it now? I hadn't notice," she responded in a wry tone.
Tweekend Ghost looked at her sister cheerfully and imagined her flying in the night sky. "It was a bit overwhelming for me, though bigger wings are more fun anyhow. Everything just seems crazier as an adult" *eyes all of the other Soquili chatting*
Miss Cherie Perhaps she would try flying later. "Crazier, hmm? Yes, there is a lot of insanity going around, isn't there?" Banshee quirked an eyebrow in the direction of the drama. "All of this fuss about males and females." They had a brother, didn't they? Why did they feel the need for all of those shenanigans?
Tweekend "I don't know if I like the drama over there very much.." blushes quietly, and turns back to her sister. "Though, I'm sure in the spur of the moment it might be exiciting" *giggles at the thought*
Miss Cherie Banshee shook her head, sending a rather mocking look in the direction of those causing drama. "Oh, don't worry about it, Ghost. They'll get tired of tearing at each other eventually. If not, maybe a Kalona or something will come along and make them wish they hadn't been quite so noisy." She grinned at her sister just a bit ferally, enjoying the idea of seeing that kind of drama. Of course, that was the sort of thing that was best not to watch, if you didn't want to be drawn in yourself. She did not look forward to being maimed.
Tweekend Quietly gulping, she imagined the idea of a Kalona. "That kind of drama would be awful, someone could get hurt.." Her eyes went to her sister's dark horn, and from that she naturally felt her own. "Sis, you haven't run into a Kalona yet, have you?" Trying to hide the fact that she was a bit frightened, she wagged her tail back and forth.
Miss Cherie Banshee probably had too much spunk for her own good. "Alright, alright. It would be awful. I just... really hate it when adults stand around and act like a bunch of foals, pushing each other around. You know? Mom and dad aren't like that at all." She sort of shrugged a bit. "No, I haven't run into a Kalona. I've heard all about them, though."
Tweekend ((Luffles Swirly <3333) "I know that, I hope to be like them, of course." She smiled at her sister, hoping to make both of their parents very proud. "I try to not listen when others are talking about Kalonas.." The thought of running into one fascinated her, but scared her as well. Everything about it sounded exciting, though a part of her knew it was a crazy thing to think about. "Who knows if we will ever see one." She giggled lightly.
Meeki After staring at the two females for several moments, the large stallion decided to make his way over. He could clearly see that the two were related though they were different races, perhaps mixed breeds of some sort. While they both had wings and unicorn horns, their tails and wing types were vastly different. Perhaps they would provide him with a bit of amusement.
Once he neared them he grinned as broadly as possible, attempting to appear charming, a feat he felt he mastered long ago. "My, my, what a lovely pair. Sisters, eh?", he asked towards Banshee and Ghost. "Antichrist at your service," he whispered before lowering his head in a bow, "Welcome to.. the most atrocious location you will find in this land. It seems the stupid like to gather here and butt heads. I daresay, you two don't belong here at all. Far too lovely to succumb to such.. barbarity." Miss Cherie "I have no doubt that we will eventually meet a Kalona." But of course, the next creature to approach was nothing of the sort. Interesting. A unicorn, right? Kind of like them, but different. "Yes, we are sisters, Antichrist." She tilted her head to the side, giving him a curious glance. "I don't believe I've ever met a unicorn before." And certainly not one with quite so vibrant a pelt. "My name is Banshee."
She grinned to think of them succumbing to barbarity. This stallion was full of flattery. Did he use those words on every mare he met? Strangely, she felt oddly protective of her sister. Ghost seemed so innocent, so naive. Much like Boo. What, was she going to have to watch over both of her siblings to make sure nothing happened to them?
Tweekend (( *snugs teh Dusteh* ^ww^ )) Moving herself a bit closer to her sister, she turned to face the stallion that approached them. She smiled, happy to meet a new face. "Hello there, my name is Ghost." Giving a light bow herself, she hugged her wings close so they wouldn't bother her sister. "I have not met one either, hello there Antichrist."
Carefully glancing at her sister from the corner of her eye, she wondered what she thought of the stallion. There was something standing out about his nature, and Ghost was unable to figure it out. Trying not to judge too quickly, she kept her smile on, and stood proud next to her sister.Meeki "Banshee and Ghost? They are good names, names that will most certainly be remembered. I admit that I have not seen creatures like you two either. You are very similar to Unicorns.. though we do not come with wings like you two have. Very.. intriguing."
The stallion kept his distance and simply smiled. His smile seldom reached his eyes which always appeared empty and lifeless. For now, he would be as much of a gentleman as possible as he was genuinely intrigued by the two females. In a way, it made him miss his own sister, though she was truly a hateful creature. He envied the bond that these two seemed to share. It made him question his original intent at approaching them. He had wanted to make them uncomfortable but how.. he wasn't quite so sure. Miss Cherie If Antichrist's intent was to make them uncomfortable, he had halfway succeeded. Banshee, for whatever reason, felt quite protective of her sibling. The lighthearted mare was so likely to be hurt by a dastardly stallion (perhaps like this one?), and she didn't want to have to pick up the pieces. Of course, he really was rather interesting. Not like they were. Not quite. "No, you do not come with wings. How different. I've never seen a wingless 'unicorn' before."
She raised an eyebrow at him, standing as proudly as she could. She was new to this world of grown-up talk, but she would do her best to show that she was no simple thing. "I believe our kind are called alicorns, although Ghost probably has another name." Fluttercorn? That was quite a silly combination. Although, come to think of it, silly was not terribly unsuitable. Given their father's name, 'Banshee' and 'Ghost' were not strange names for the pair of sisters. Outsiders might have other ideas, though. Not this one, it would seem.
Tweekend Watching her sister as she spoke, she felt her head lightly nod, only because she agreed with what she was saying. "Fluttercorn?" She twitched her wings and giggled, only because it sounded funny to her at first. "I guess it is unknown to what I am, but all I care about is that I am of my father and mother."
Being proud of 'whatever she was' felt like an importance she held even with her sister standing next to her. She wondered if such thoughts ever struck her sisters mind. "I do enjoy the fact that we all have horns, though." She couldn't help blurting out a random thought, but it made her wonder about the different Soquili around her. She felt like she had much more to learn about her fellow dwellers. Meeki "I assure you, Banshee, that there's quite a lot of creatures like myself. There are so many unicorns that we are not special at all." That was a lie as he considered the unicorns to be quite superior to the other races but physically, perhaps they were lacking in comparison to alicorns and the butterfly type that Ghost seemed to be. There were certain benefits that could come from sporting a pair of wings.
Antichrist turned to the more innocent female and nodded curtly, "A horn is by far the best attribute one could have, at least when it comes to the unicorn variety. Along with being a great tool used for both an offensive and defensive purpose, they are believed to be the base for our healing magic. A unicorn horn is a sacred part of us." This was entirely true to him. He could not know for sure if the healing magic did truly reside in the horn and not in his mind, but it felt like the horn was very important to this magical property. No one without a horn seemed to be able to heal another, at least. Miss Cherie That was something she had not yet learned. Did their brother Boo lack the ability to heal others, then? If he did, he was the only one of their trio who was incapable of performing that skill. Not that Banshee or Ghost had the same sort of capacity that this male seemed to have for healing. No, they paled in comparison to a pure blooded unicorn in that respect. But she had not learned that lesson yet. Hopefully, she would never have the opportunity to learn it.
The idea that Boo was somehow different from them troubled her, though. He was their brother. He should be able to do the things that they were able to do, shouldn't he? Aside from bearing young, of course. "The offspring of a unicorn, should he or she be born without a horn, would not have that ability?" She had to know. Her brow furrowed slightly with these thoughts, and she wondered if it was truly so important as he made it seem. Perhaps he had simply not met a healer without one.
Tweekend Looking up in an almost cross-eyed fashion, ghost wondered herself if there was anything that special up there. She never really looked at her horn as anything accept something special from her father, and the same with her wings from her mother. Could an ability really be passed on in such a way? She enjoyed the idea of traits moving on.
At her sisters question, which did not even occur in her own mind, her eyes widened carefully. Her brother not possessing something they had? "Does that mean that Boo may have something else?" Her natural thought always told her to go past what facts they had, and although she had no support for such a thing, she still wondered if it was possible. Its not like that is a total bad thing, she thought to herself. Meeki "It is strongly believed that the ability stems from the horn. I.. do not know this as fact but I do know that only those with a horn had been able to heal thus far. It's unheard of really. Even the two leggers come to us for such things at times.. and never a non-Unicorn." He paused briefly as he pondered the possibility further.
"It's hard to say what one would be capable of doing if unicorn blood was within them. I suppose it would depend on how strong the bloodline was." The question put him off guard. He did not know the answer to it and that intrigued him all the more. There were a lot of things he wouldn't mind learning about these newer, mixed races.

http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=7706619[PRP] Feb 3rd 07 Found in the Darkness Again (Ariston and Heartless) In the darkness, Ariston was able to forget about the conversations he had that day, and finally he could relax. His ears slanted limply, and his tail dragged a bit behind him. His eyelids also covered most of his vision at this point, and it felt best to him.
He gleamed naturally in the darkness, of course making himself stand out. For the first time in a very long time, he didn't want to be seen or admired, he just wanted to relax. He didn't want any kind of pampering or admiring, and it felt strange but comfortable. He knew well enough that he could get any of that on any occasion, so for now he decided to enjoy his midnight silence.
Listening to the trees rustling, he went forward, slowly and silently.
AnimeChickie Closing her eyes, Heartless wasn't sure why she had come around today, but she was beginning to feel restless. She hadn't come in contact with another soquili in weeks, and she was starting to feel the need to feel another's fears. She flourished on their doubts, flaws, and weaknesses, but most of all, she wanted their hearts. Nevertheless, she needed to get out anyway. She loved lurking in the shadows, never making a sound. Sometimes, one could swear that they couldn't even hear her heart beating. In his comfortable state, he thought about many things that had been on his mind. Despite all of the Soquili drama that had engulfed him lately, as he looked around, he remembered a familiar situation.
The darkness brought back the memory of the female Kalona, who lurked silently around him many nights back. Her mysterious ways were still never explained, and he was trying to get a vivid image of her.
Turning to the dark that fell all around him, he looked back and forth, wondering if it was possible for her to actually be there.AnimeChickie Revealing her bright golden orbs, Heartless looked out across the area in front of her. Tree, tree, rock, another tree... How boring, not a soquili in sight. She began moving swiftly through the trees hoping to come across another soquili. She was not one to be by herself; sometimes soquili thought they were alone, but they forgot to look around a little harder.
Pausing, Heartless could smell something nearby. Her eyes light up in excitement as she moved towards the smell. She spotted the familiar golden aura that was the soquili, Ariston. Oh... that's no fun... she could terrify the wits out of another kalona. Plus, they had already met, so that definitely spoiled it.
Watching him from the darkness with her floating golden orbs, she wondered if he would notice her. He did indeed notice her, almost too quickly.
Turning to face the familiar glowing eyes, he was quiet at first, only because he was so suprised with his luck. That wasn't a common part of his life, and to have something not only pop up in his head, but in front of him as well, sort of freaked him out.
"Its good to see you again, how have you been?" The question may have seemed stale, but he meant it happily. It was teh best way to start conversation, after all. Heartless may have been quiet, but her strange company kept him entertained, and asking questions. He enjoyed the thrill. AnimeChickie Watching him in silence, her expression not altering at all. "Oh, skipping formalities now? I've been doing fine. How about yourself?" The mare observed him silently from the darkness, the outline of her petite body was barely visible. Regardless of her size, she still was taller than a regular soquili, just small for a kalona. Though that never really seemed to affect her manipulative ways.
Whether she wanted to admit it or not, his company last time was somewhat intriguing. He wasn't like the other kalona she had met. But she only had one goal in her mind, she wanted his heart. She never thought of the obstacles that could possibly occur with herself if she continued to pursue his heart. He was puzzled, but in a good way. With that in mind, he let out a light chuckle, and brought his eyes back on her glow. "I apologize then," Bowing slowly, he raised his head back up elegantly, suprised that she would say that much. "But yes, I have been fine as well."
Her reaction towards him was suprising; she didn't hold her silence, or step back in a uncomfortable matter. She actually stayed by him, and answered him, too. What is this?! thought Ariston. All that struck his head now was the idea of learning more about her, and this encounter may help with such tactics.
"Silly as it sounds, I am glad I ran into you. I was just realizing how it wasn't long ago that I ran into you in this kind of darkness." The moon was their guidelight, jsut like it was the last time they met. It was the perfect atmosphere to lurk in peace.AnimeChickie Blinking slightly, Heartless smirked to herself. Oh sometimes boredom could make others talk, but she did have hidden motives. He should detect them soon enough considering he is a kalona regardless of his personality. The mare was also quite surprised that he was glad to see her. That was an interesting comment since with their last encounter, she didn't say much. But the night was young and she could already tell that this would be an interesting night.
"What an odd thing to say." Looking down at the ground, she pawed at it with her hoof slightly and then moved out of the darkness. It was still difficult to see her because of the nighttime cover, but now she was visible. She stood up tall, even though she wasn't nearly as tall as Ariston, she still stood with a certain pridefulness. "Why is that odd? It is wrong for me to be friendly?" Just like last time, where he would say or do something of a kind matter, she would comment how it was 'strange'. "Why must so many things be so strange to you?"
His voice stayed soft, but held a strong mannerism. He allowed his wings to fall silently next to him, and with the energy he had left, he continued to embrace her presence. "I must not be any fun to you, then? Why did you approach me if you were thinking these things all along."
With a twist of defensivness, even Ariston wasn't sure what he was saying. Maybe the exhaustion mixed with friendliness was causing him to increase his insanity by the minute. AnimeChickie Heartless shrugged and seemed unmoved by what he said. "Nothing 'wrong' persay. Just strange. I do not need to explain myself. Either way, you don't have to talk to me. You can be rude to me and mock me like everybody else. I could care less. And you cannot tell me what I feel; if it's possible for me to feel anything." That's probably the most Heartless had ever said at one time.
Definitely an odd way of starting out a conversation, Heartless wondered how long this would last. The longer the better, perhaps she could n** away little by little at his heart. "Right there, m'lady," He said, in a boastful matter, "is where you are wrong. It may be that I don't have to talk to you, but why do you think I would stand here and insist on talking if I didn't want to?" Wanting to pat himself on the back, he grinned lightly at her, feeling the need to not give up yet.
"Mock you?" At this point, though, he shifted directions of his speech. "Others mock you? If there is one thing I am certainly not doing, it is trying to mock or be rude towards you." Feeling a tad sympathy himself, if there was one issue he had to deal with everday, it was being mocked by everyone else. Of course their cases were different, and for Ariston the mockery usually came from his race to his hair. Though, either way, the thought of mockery did upset him.
"I wish you wouldn't assume things on me, as I am not assuming things on you.." Looking straight towards her eyes again, he stood there, wondering how should would choose to react this time. AnimeChickie Of course, she was always wrong. Heartless sighed to herself but shrugged off the feeling. Still looking unmoved, she showed no expression; she couldn't. "Fine. I won't assume things of you if you don't assume things of me." She knew that would be impossible as it was just a natural instinct to assume everything, but this agreement would suffice for now. To her, Ariston didn't seem like one to mock but she didn't quite mean to say that... She needed to think more before she spoke...
Kalonas were always persecuted, regardless of their true nature. It was even worse that Heartless didn't really talk or anything. But they always got what they deserved. She'd creep up on them when they were least expecting... "How do others mock you? That saddens me, because I find it to be utterly repulsive. One should be proud of every aspect about them, and you have every right to be." Ariston, being as proud as he was, felt the need to explain pride to those he felt worthy. Heartless, being the fine spectacle that she was, had every right to stand up for herself. "When others mock, it is usually because of jealousy. Suck in their jealousy, for they are the ones in pain overall. Don't let them inflict judgement on you because of your personal greatness."
Mocked for his hair, tail, color, personality.. the list could go on for days. Others referrred to Ariston as shameless, ridiculous, dramatic, but only he knew the truth. "Greatness should be praised and recognized, not hidden in doubt." When others would speak to him, he would like their words go through one ear, and come out the other. He was completely unnaffected by their pompous speeches. AnimeChickie They seemed to make fun of everything about her. She could care less, even if she had a heart, she probably wouldn't care. "They find everything to be hilarious. It does not matter because I do not care. Their words mean nothing to me; I could care less about them." Heartless did not value any other soquili's words except her own. She trusted no one, so why should she care about what they say? "I always find a way to repay them the favor."
She wondered if... Ariston liked to listen to himself speak. So far, it seemed like it, but she found it interesting. She had never met another soquili quite like him, and she had spent many a days observing many soquili. She didn't need to talk to them to know their personalities. "Even if you do not care, you should still have the Pride to stick up for yourself." Her tactics were unappealing to him, and her way of dealing with things was obviously completely different. "It is good that their words mean nothing, though. That is an important step. If you think about it, what I am saying means nothing as well, though it is how you interpret the situation."
At her last comment though, he shrugged, confused. "You find a way to repay the favor? What is that supposed to mean?" She was a female Kalona, so he tried hard not to imply that she was cruel and vicious. From her encounters, it seemed that she was not this way, though by her last comment, he was very unsure. Maybe she had her own tactics that he was unaware of.AnimeChickie "Maybe you haven't noticed yet, but I do not have a heart. I do not have emotions or feelings, so I cannot feel prideful about myself." Heartless was always blunt and hated others that dodged around the bush when talking about things. It was just a waste of her time to talk about trivial topics, but to her surprise, none of the topics Ariston and her had talked about were considered trivial. Very surprising...
"I mean what I said. I repay them the favor." The mare couldn't help but smirk to herself thinking about past things she had done as 'favors.' "Of course I did not notice, from our other conversations I have plenty to debate. You may be told that you do not have a heart, but I refuse to believe it." Crazy? Maybe he was, but when his mind told him to fight against something, he never resisted. "Just like I am told many things about my Kalona heritage. Do I listen, or believe them? Of course not, I listen to myself. I have the greatest power in reality with my self, of course."
Still not understand what he meant, he lifted a brow, only because he was sort of creeped out. "Ok well.. what favor? That kind of talk sounds, menacing in a way. Of course my ears are interested to hear what you are talking about. AnimeChickie "I was not called Heartless by others. I named myself that, because only I can determine things about myself." Heartless paused, again, surprised that he didn't guess at how she tormented those who tormented others. "I stalk them from the shadows, whispering evil things until they believe they've gone insane. I follow them day and night until I feel that they've had enough. But of course, I let them live, knowing that I will be able to bring more torment to their life later." For the first time, Heartless let out an evil cackle. Hardly ever did she show more emotion then that, but she felt so... ecstatic about tormenting others. So, her motives were finally revealed to him. It was strange, for he could relate. Ariston knew he was the deadliest of sins; his evil was kept secret and secure, his motives laying under his crisp and pure body. "Weaklings are so easy to pick at, aren't they? I am sure you and I have different motives for doing such tactics, though I do enjoy sucking out the isucurites of others."
Letting himself grin in a sneaky matter, he realized he enjoyed her secretive nature more than before. "I must say, I am impressed. It takes quite a lot of skill to do this, and it requires a deadly and patient mind." He found that there were many Soquili that walked around sulkingly and weakly, and they were always easy preys. "How interesting this conversation has become." He said, confidently, with a twisted smile.AnimeChickie "Of course. Exploiting other's weaknesses are my joy in life." Heartless shrugged at his comment. "It does not matter how it is done, just as long as it is done. I commend you for that." Tossing her mane lazily, her hair seemed oddly displaced, her braid had many a little strands that were out of place. That seemed quite odd for even Heartless.
Watching him, wow, you learn something new everyday. From what she had seen from Ariston, she had assumed that he wasn't exactly like other kalona, but now she was sure that he was. She admired him for that, and she was thinking about how she might like him even more then before. Oh how twists and surprises made life worth living for even without a heart. The mare had puzzled him in their first encounter, but now in their second, she had shifted thoughts and seemed to be enjoying his company. He had already changed his thoughts before, for he knew he could feel comfortable around Heartless, and that she would not judge him like many others did. Thinking about it deeply, he wondered if it was the same comfort that he wouldn't judge her back as welll.
"It seems we are not so different after all, though it does amuse me how we contrast each other in appearance." As easy as dark and light, both Ariston and Heartless stood against one another in their composures. "I do wish that I could blend into the night like you do, don't get me wrong, I live for attention. Though, it would be nice to vanish sometimes." AnimeChickie Heartless was not aware of these complex emotions. What she knew were simple things such as happiness and depression. She probably didn't know anything else, since she had never felt like anything except perhaps giddy, because of her day's torments. "Yes, quite ironic I guess you could consider it. " The mare shrugged to herself. She was content with who she was and would probably not ask for anything else. Though she did think that having bright colors as part of her appearance would be interesting.
"Attention... is interesting. It varies between soquili on what kind of attention they give. But I really do not care. Most attention given to me are negative and my heart has grown immune to them. What would you do if your attention was negative?" She looked up at him with inquiring eyes. "Negative attention.." He chuckled, and looked back at her. "Why, I get plenty of negative attention, daily actually. Whether it be mares that are jealous, or stallions that are jealous.. it can become quite annoying." Dramactically shrugging his shoulders, this sort of thing made him exhausted constantly. "There are so many different types of negative attention, so sometimes it can be hard to tell which is which."
The mare in front of him, because she kept saying it of course, seemed to only get negative attention. This confused Ariston, because at different parts of the night, he was giving Heartless the good kind of attention. Was she not aware? "You confuse me a bit, though I know that negative attention is all you have seen. Are you not used to positive attention? I have given you that.." AnimeChickie Heartless had never been envied before so she wasn't quite sure what he meant by his statements but she just shrugged and continued to listen to him. Watching him with emotionless golden eyes, Heartless didn't think about his question too much. She didn't have to think about it, because she didn't understand it. Never in her life had she received a compliment or anything, but that's probably because she never stuck around long enough to see.
"Hm. You've been giving me positive attention? I didn't know." The mare shrugged once more, not really caring too much. What did it matter, whether she got positive or negative attention? She didn't want attention at all. It just made her feel... odd. Too odd. Its funny, how opposite they were. She shrugged off attention, while Ariston sucked it in whenever he could. How strange, he had never encountered a female who would ignore such an important thing as attention. Most females boasted constantly in such. "Well, I clearly haven't been given you negative attention, or I hope you aren't getting that impression. "
Shifting his position, he felt uncomfortable at the fact that attention wasn't important to her. "Then how do you manage to live in the shadows with attention, how is it possible? You speak of no emotion, but I think it is actually quite false.." He shrugged gently.AnimeChickie It was more like, she didn't understand what attention was, espcially the positive kind. She remembered being a foal and constantly being walked past when she greeted someone. It was almost like she was a ghost. And nobody cares about ghosts...
"It doesn't make any difference to me. I can't tell whether you're giving me negative or good attention but like I said, I don't really care." The mare shrugged slightly and continued to watch Ariston. "No emotion? Do you think I have emotion? I surely do not believe such a thing. I do not get frightened, I do not show affection, I do not love. Therefore, I do not possess any emotions."
She wasn't sure what to say now, so she just stood... and watched.
Ariston curved his eyebrow as she spoke and decided that he would respond to her more maturely now. "What you just stated is the most obvious knowledge on emotion that one could ever speak of. Do you really think it is as simple as that?" Atiston looked at her deeply, and moved a few steps closer. "The way you treat emotion is as if it is a simple equation. You speak of it in a robotic tone, and with that you are telling yourself false facts. It seems you shrug off anything that is not of common knowledge. "He frowned at her, showing a strange emount of concern.
"You are alive, and with that were given a mind to feel things. Right now, your mind is probably begging you to acknowledge it, and to realize that you have the ability to feel things." He turned his head, letting his hair drift messily to wherever it wished. "But you first must aknowledge that you do have a heart. You are living, corrent?" He looked back at her, with rebellious eyes.
"Doesn't it mean anything that I can see these things in you?" AnimeChickie She stood, umoving, as he moved closer to her. Heartless looked up at him with nothing in her eyes. What he said seemed to unmove her, but in her head, was something was beginning to tick in that empty mind of hers.
"No, I am not alive. I am the shadows that follow you, I am the terror that lurks in your heart. I am nothing." But did she really believe what she was saying? Could she even really believe in anything at all if she didn't have a heart? Everything was beginning to confuse her for the first time in her life. She didn't know what to say or how to react, she had never been put in a situation like this before and it was starting to irritate her. She did not like the feeling of not knowing everything.
She had to know everything about every aspect of the world. Heartless did not want to feel weak, but she could already feel this beginning to strain her thoughts. And his last comment. She didn't understand this last comment at all. He shook his head fast, feeling a bit outraged at the though. "How can you say that.." He murmured, raising his bold eyes at hers. Her eye's glowing radius eliminated something else, and Ariston knew it was there. Persuading Heartless seemed like it would be impossible. He felt connected to her in some odd way, so he decided he would stick with his thoughts rather than give up. "Terror that lurks in my heart? I believe you have it completely wrong. It seems that you have a terror within your own heart."
It was a strange way to say it, but for some reason there was an internal conflict within Heartless that needed to be resolved. Knowing that Ariston himself had just recovered from an internal conflict himself, he could feel her's radiating. Her heart was there, beating and living peacefully. Maybe it just needed some confrontation from the mind.AnimeChickie Heartless had always thought she was immune to getting emotionally hurt. She never thought that she could feel anything. She tensed up slightly as she stood there. When she was born, the first thing she had learned was just that she was nothing. She didn't mean anything to anybody and was born by mistake. She was not meant to exist, such a monster should not exist.
"What heart?" She repeated the phrase, keeping herself convinced of it. There was no way she could have one. After all these years, it had dissolved into nothing. But her mind was on what he had said about him seeing these things within her. What was he talking about? How could he possibly know her? She did not want to admit to herself that she had opened up. No, it wasn't possible. It just wasn't possible. "Your heart is beating faster." Ariston said, confidently. "Isn't the movement of it effecting you at all?" A heart, being something bound to the body and soul, was a huge factor in the creation of the being. "You say 'What heart' as if it is an easy question to answer. I know you have told me that you are uneffected by other's emotions, but why don't you consider your own?"
He was starting to get flustered, only because he himself bathed in the idea of self emotion, and response from others. He was staring into the eyes of something who had never acknowledged such, to sit and preach obviously wasn't going to change anything.
"Do you want emotions?" He looked at her, suddenly interested. "You aren't blocking them for any reason, are you?" AnimeChickie Heartless shrugged nonchalantly. Her eyes gazed into his with a hint of defiance in them. Not defying him, but defying her own thoughts. She was beginning to understand what was going on, but she was too stubborn to let little things like this change who she was or at least, who she thought she was.
Hesitating slightly before answering gave away her lie, "No. I have no reason to feel. It just causes problems." She had talked to soquili before, why was Ariston any different? He shouldn't be any different, but for some reason he is. What in the world was going on now?
The mare was beginning to feel uncomfortable, feeling that she was losing this debate. She didn't like the feeling at all, and it made her want to turn and run away from him. No, she couldn't show any weakness... "The problems you speak of are life itself. Are you saying you don't want struggle, friendship, happiness..." He trailed on, finishing with "..love." He wasn't one who was very found of any other love besides the unbounding love for himself, so he could easily relate in that sense. "That is a desicion that should take awhile to make, and it should be shrugged off, Heartless."
Shrugging here and there, he still wasn't sure if anything he was saying was truly making her think. In the end, that was what Ariston was pushing at. Heartless, being a confused Kalona herself, needed to stray away from the internal conflicts and let herself accept her being better. "How can any of this not matter to you?" He sighed a bit, feeling tired himself at the thought of it all.AnimeChickie Heartless muttered, almost with a bitter tone, "Life is cruel." Shaking her head feeling disgusted, she spits at the ground as if to get rid of the taste of what she just said. What was he talking about, all of these happy things? What about the realities? The hardships and pain. "Love is pointless. It only brings disappointment." The mare paused, thinking about something, "Why are you trying so hard to convince me about this? I do not understand that, it should not matter to you how and what I do."
She seemed rather distant and cold at the moment. She wanted to run like she always did. Heartless felt walls closing in on her, and every moment was causing more tension in her. She was becoming more upset by the minute, and he was suprised at her reaction to the idea of life and love. The fact that she hated life and love in itself meant that she had an emotion towards both. "You know, your action as well as your words just expressed true emotions." He knew something like that might have freaked her out, but he couldn't resist pointing it out. "You literally just showed emotion, Heartless. Obviously, it is a bitter, cold hate, but that's a good step."
She was right, by Ariston's standards it shouldn't matter. Other's relations, besides some close comrads and friends of his, did not matter at all to him. He tried constantly to keep himself distant from the drama and mishaps. Heartless though, was not the same. Her current state of mind was something he was struggling with a bit ago in the sense of identity. If it were not for his friend Wrath, he would not have realized many things about himself. Ariston felt obligded to do the same for Heartless, just because of the slight connection he was feeling. "I just feel like helping, that's all. I felt the same internal conflict a few weeks ago."AnimeChickie Pausing slightly, she hadn't thought of it that way before. She never thought her hatred could be interpreted as emotions. She didn't want to think that because it wasn't something she was ready to admit. Somewhere within her, she was beginning to feel a strong feeling of resent towards Ariston. She did not want to be wrong.
Her mind was swirling with various thoughts. Had she been lying to herself for all of these years? Was she just a fake? A liar?
Turning around it a swift movement, Heartless began to run. She couldn't face all of this, not right now. She didn't want to agree to anything he said, and the walls had gotten too close for her. She didn't want to feel like this anymore so she ran. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her. Remembering that Heartless was one who disliked flight, Ariston watched her as she darted away. He wasn't surprised, though at the same time he didn't think she would actually do it. Releasing his wings, he let them swiftly carry him up towards the sky and forward, in the direction to where Heartless was running. He was much faster by air then when he ran.
She was easy to spot, since for their entire discussion he was used to her figure now in the darkness. It stood out reletively easy, and he realized that she didn't blend in as easily as she wanted. It was probably because she wanted to blend in.
Once he was a slight step behind her, he continued watching her movments, wondering what was bothering her so badly.AnimeChickie Feeling the wind billow through her single braid, Heartless continued to run until she reached the lake. She felt unusually exhausted and she lay down behind an abnormally large boulder within it's looming shadow. Shuddering slightly, the mare felt so vulnerable at the moment and she felt sick almost disgusted with herself.
She didn't want to think at the moment. Sighing, Heartless continued to lay there. She was sure that he wouldn't follow her. He watched her settle down behind a rock, and from the look of her eyes she hadn't noticed him yet. Her expression was emotional, which would explain why her body was so confused. The connection hadn't been made entirely, and Ariston was aware of this. He went through the same thing, and until one is able to move on, it is more painful then before ignoring emotions.
He landed at a spot towards the rock, and silently folding his wings back together, he walked towards Heartless. Looking at her in such a way, he realized what a fine creature she was, and how she deserved more credit for everything she did. Being a Kalona, she still was herself in a sense, not abiding by 'Kalona ways', and right away he was interested to know her from that. Most Kalonas he met dispuised him for not 'representing the blood'. He only wanted to know others who represented themselves.
Heartless was capable of such, she just needed a hand for now.
When he was extremely close to her, he put on of his wings almost barely on her back, and just stood there comfortly. He was quiet, only so she would be able to think to herself. AnimeChickie Closing her eyes, Heartless sensed a soquili coming her way. Oh what now... She didn't even bother to look up. She kept her head down and her eyes closed not wanting to deal with anything. Maybe she'd wake up and then this would have all been a dream.
Feeling the wing on her back, Heartless whipped her head around and snapped at it. When she saw it was Ariston she just lowered her head, her eyes still glowering with a glint of distaste. Seeing her reaction, he decided to remain completely still, though looked away from her so his gaze wasn't disturbing hers.
"Heartless, are you alright?" He said, quietly. "I seem to have made you feel worse, and I am sorry." He remembered sulking, feeling worthless and untrue to himself. The daily criticisms as well as painful remarks from the other Soquili effected him badly in the beginning, until he found a way to shrug it all off.
He wished for Heartless to do the same.AnimeChickie The kalona mare said nothing in return. She did not want Ariston to comfort her. She would get over this like nothing happened and would return to the way things were before. All of these silly complications were exactly the reason why she wanted to escape from this... emotion filled world. So... distasteful.
She was at a loss for words. What was she supposed to say to him now that she had already run away. Everything was so difficult now. How could she had left things to get this horrible? Ariston stepped away and sat his body a few places behind her. The grass was soft, and he was starting to feel a bit tired, for it was very late in the night. He brought his gaze back on her, and sighed once again.
"Are you just going to sit there and sulk?" He didn't understand sulking or hiding, so watching her confused him very much. If she had realized that she was actually feeling emotions all of this time, he wasn't sure why she was so upset about it.AnimeChickie Heartless turned to look at Ariston once more. "I do not want to feel. I don't understand why you want attention so much. Everybody just turns on you in the end. Nobody truly cares about you, so why put yourself in a position like that in the first place? That's how I see it. It's been a long time since I've felt this way, and I'm not quite sure why you, of all soquili, have made me like this. For all these years, I've kept silent, and now I can't even slip away into the shadows."
Sighing to herself, Heartless lay her head down on the ground. What a troublesome night... He remained away from her, and shifted his gaze towards another area once again. "How do you know nobody truly cares about you? What am I, nothing to you?" He shook his head out of a dazed confusion. "I thought you might enjoy knowing that you are more then what you keep saying you are, Heartless. I can understand that having the strength to look past some things is hard to have, I wish I could lend some of mine. If others don't care about you, there is no reason to care about them."
To be hidden for so long, it was completely shocking to Ariston to do such a thing.AnimeChickie Shaking her head, Heartless couldn't understand what he was trying to tell her. This was all coming too quickly. She was already having trouble understanding emotions, but now love too? Looking down at the ground, Heartless wondered what she thought of Ariston. He wasn't like the others, like those who she tormented, no, he was something different. Her head was throbbing now; she was too confused.
"I don't know what you are to me Ariston. You are just so confusing." Turning her head, Heartless allowed her unkempt braid to fall across her face. A sudden surge came from within her after she said that. Something wet began to drop down the sides of her face. Blinking rapidly, Heartless did not know what these mysterious drops were that were coming from her eyes. Ariston's mouth widened in a suprised circle, and he didn't know what to do. "Heartless, you are crying." Getting up again, he walked over to her, watching her painful feelings. "I am sorry if I am confusing, though you are confusing to me as well. I just wanted to help you, I know you can feel better about life. You are better then all of this."
Ariston wasn't a crier, though he still knew how painful it was for Heartless to acknowledge that she was crying. "I am proud of you, nevertheless. You have overcome something huge already."
Would she have been better if he left her alone? He kept asking the question to himself, but he would shrug it away, knowing that maybe she could be happier after all of this. Being two Kalonas who did life their own way, he couldn't resist finding out more about her. He didn't have to be a show in front of her.AnimeChickie "I felt absolutely fine before meeting you. I was content with my life, never questioning why I did this or why I became the way I am." Heartless began to wonder if she really was that way or if she was just hiding from the obvious. Lowering her head, she felt ashamed of herself. This was the last thing she wanted to feel like. She knew she was inferior when it came to emotions, but that's why she never bothered to talk about them.
Turning away from Ariston, Heartless lowered her head onto the grass, breathing heavily. "If you want to keep blaming this on me, fine Heartless, I could care less." His eyes were weary, and his body was sore. In any other situation, he would have left the female, laughing and wondering why he even put up with so much. But he couldn't leave her here like this, she was a mess, and he wasn't sure how she could resolve it.
"You are letting the sadness inside you completely dominant you. Because you have never recognized other emotions, like happiness, you are dwelling in a puddle of pain." How could she feel happiness if she didn't know how to acknowledge it? How confusing this kept getting.AnimeChickie "Do not talk to me like a child." There was a hint of anger within her words. Heartless was growing more and more tired as the conversation went on. "I'm not going to change you know. You should just give up." Giving an audible sigh, Heartless continued to look the other way, allowing her large wings to envelope her body.
She needed... to feel powerful again. Maybe she would seek out some naive mare and spread fear around her life because Heartless didn't have one. She had to take others. Would Ariston ever understand this? Would he still accept her even though she couldn't change even if she wanted to? "I don't want you to change. I think you are getting confused." Ariston watched as she was covered by her dark wings. "You keep refering to your emotions as if they are a remarkable shift from what you are. Heartless, they are you. You just never recognized them before. I know you are flustered, and I know you hate me deeply at the moment. But you are you Heartless."
He was also starting to get more flustered, Heartless was herself, doing whatever tactics and way of life that she wished. That is why Ariston enjoyed her so much, because she refused to take crap from others. She remained who she was, and although other's rejections effected her harshly, she refused to change. That is why Ariston was still standing in front of her.AnimeChickie "If so, do not make me express emotion. That is not who I am. It's in my nature to be cold-hearted and just plain evil. I could not imagine changing that." Heartless paused and thought to herself. Maybe she didn't have to be that way all the time, maybe with just one person. Only one person would know who she really was... Shaking the thought out of her mind, that was an absurd thought.
To give in... was to fail. She didn't want to give in to her emotions, but there was just something that was influencing her the other way and he was standing next to her. He laughed, long and hard. He was laughing not only out of exhaustion, but mainly out of the mere fact that she was completely wrong. "You can still be evil and have emotions, you know." He was done laughing, and his eyes faced hers confidently. "I am evil, but a different evil of course. But still, I don't judge others based on race, appearance, or way of life." Flicking his tail, he scoffed at the thoughts of over Kalonas. "You nature is to be who you want to be, and I find it hard to believe that you are content with your way of life now."
Where to go from here.. if he let her leave, then what would happen? Would he ever see her again?AnimeChickie Turning to glare at him, what was he laughing for? She was being dead serious, but then again, Heartless didn't have much of a humorous side. The mare shrugged softly, "Others judge harshly. I don't care though. And I was content with my life, not anymore though. I chose this way of life for a reason, it's because it neither bothers me nor does it make me happy. That's perfect for me at least." Heartless wasn't in the mood to get up, if she did, she'd probably walk into a tree or something because she was beginning to feel light-headed.
Her gaze softened as she looked at Ariston once more. "But it did bother you, don't you see that? You constantly glare at others, wanting to take precious things from them. I think it is their happiness that sometimes bothers you. Why not acknowledge your own happiness, Heartless?" It was an odd was to think about it, but if she did take pieces of hearts from others, why didn't she just recognize her own?
"Don't shut your heart away. You should give it a chance for a happy life." AnimeChickie Heartless shrugged once again and then slowly got up. She was tired of sulking, and she wasn't one to really ever do that. Turning around to face Ariston, Heartless looked up at him with those familiar defiant eyes. "I do not wish to have a heart Ariston. I may be a coward to not want to face the pain that I am facing right now, but I am content."
Sighing, Heartless turned to leave knowing that she might ever see Ariston again. She finally realized why he made her sad. She knew that someone like him would never be interested in her even as just a friend, so why waste her time? She still didn't understand why he even tried so hard to persuade her, but she overlooked that fact. Finally, she was walking away. The old Ariston would have been pleased with such, but he just couldn't see her off on such terms. "WAIT!" He said, in as loud as a voice that his energy could allow. "Why are you facing pain, Heartless? Why am I causing you pain??" He put his head down, feeling worse by the second as well.
"If you leave, I may never seen you again. I don't want that, Heartless. Do you want to never see me again?" His purple eyes tried calling out to her, but within his efforts he felt a pain swell up inside is chests. His head was rushing with strange feelings that he couldn't identify with. He liked the way they felt, though was nervous about why they were bothering him. "Is it wrong for me to care?" Heartless may have been a stranger at first, but he wanted to keep her as a solid friend.AnimeChickie "I don't like not understanding. I knew for a long time that I did not understand emotions but I just put that aside because nobody ever really made me think about things like that let alone talk to me in the first place." Heartless didn't want to make him feel bad, but she didn't think that things were going well at the current moment.
"I won't lie to you, so I won't lie that I don't have some sort of feeling when I talk to you, but it does not feel right." The mare was still turned away to leave and didn't look at him while she was talking. She was afraid that her eyes were showing weakness again. "Does not feel right? You mean that I don't feel right. Am I not worthy of being graced with your presence?" He felt his legs stumble, and he fell as elegantly as he could to the ground. "I am not going to lie, I am exhausted. My hair is a mess, my body is dirty.." He brought his eyes back on hers, wondering something that felt amazing. "That doesn't matter to you, does it?" She wasn't judging him at all on his appearance or stamina, she was only shutting him away for her internal conflicts.
"I have tried to explain to you why I am still standing here, a mess, talking to you. I enjoy your company, and I wish you would believe me when I state such things. Why am I not allowed to make you happy?" AnimeChickie "No, it is I that isn't worthy." Heartless began to walk away again, but then stopped herself. "Yes, that's it. Don't you have better people to talk to instead of scum like me? I'm sure you do." He was so beautiful, and she couldn't nearly compare to his beauty. She would only bring him down if she continued to talking to him. "See? I cause trouble for you. You call yourself a mess, and that is my fault."
Her face was still expressionless while she stood there unsure of what to say next. His jaw dropped, only because he was angry at her for saying what she did. "First of all, I am a mess because I haven't gotten any beauty sleep tonight. Second, why are you calling yourself a scum of all things?! You refer to yourself as a shadow almost consistantly, and you are forgetting what beauty a shadow holds. Your beauty dominates in the night, forcing other shadows that are reflected off the moon the worship you with no comparison. You reflect a divine beauty that others probably scold you for because they are jealous. You should laugh at them, knowing you hold more beauty then they could ever produce off the moonlight."
He took a few steps closer, only to continue, "You are a shadow that I am unable to grasp hold of, for your brilliance deifies my light composure. Don't let my bright self send you away because it may be different. How can I show you that these things are true?" AnimeChickie Heartless didn't seem fazed by what he said. "It just depends who you're talking to. You're a kalona, regular soquili are terrified of the dark, of the things that lurk in the shadows." This was about as pessimistic Heartless would get. She knew that this was going nowhere, but for some reason, she wasn't compelled to leave. "I don't understand what you want from me. Do you want to be my friend? Is that it?"
Turning around to face him fully again, Heartless watched him approach. "Just tell me that. It's just confusing because I don't understand what you want from me. What are you to gain if I just happened to agree with you?" "I do.. I just wish you would stop being so harsh towards everything. What is a way that I can prove that I am being truthful? Is friendship such a sin to you?" He understood that with having a heart that was so bruised with hurt, it was hard for her to look past the darkness within to acknowledge the light before her. He watched her, waiting for her next moves.
"I would gain a friend if you agree with me, Heartless. Does that at all tickle your fancy? Is that something odd to ask for?" AnimeChickie "I don't think that you're lying. I just want to... confirm what I was thinking." Heartless shrugged to herself. See, she knew he just wanted to be friends and nothing more, and that was completely fine with her. "Even if I don't agree, you would still be my friend?" What silly questions, she was completely dodging what she was really meaning to ask but that was also perfectly fine to her. So, she did want more then friendship? He was starting to get that vibe, especially in the way that she was speaking. "Friendships bring the most important of relationships, beyond those are determined with time." He smiled to her gently, hoping that she understood what he meant. He wanted to get to know Heartless more, especially in a way where he didn't ruin her night.
"If searching in the darkness is what I would have to do, I guess I will have to get used to it." He chuckled playfully, and calmly brought his expression back to her. "What do you want, Heartless? I have always wondered, what are your desires?" AnimeChickie Heartless shrugged nonchalantly and also shrugged off any of her previous thoughts. At least she wasn't sulking anymore... But she still didn't feel totally well and that she was still vulnerable to the world around her. She still wasn't quite in a laughing mood though. "I don't know. I just want to terrorize the world, that is all I want." The mare shrugged again, pretty sure of her answer. His head sunk again, everything he said seemed to flow right past her. He wondered if anything he had said before had stayed in her mind. "Well, at least you have a good head on your shoulders. Hopefully we can plot some kind of terrorizing together."
"I know you are probably exhausted, and I apologize again for tonight. I don't want to keep you much longer if you are tired.." As he was still talking, he walked directly in front of her and gave her a light nuzzle.
"I enjoyed getting to know you better, Heartless." AnimeChickie "That would be rather interesting." Heartless nodded slightly and then glanced briefly up at the moon for some odd reason. She didn't even notice him coming closer to her and then nuzzling her. Blinking rapidly, she wasn't sure how to react. What was he doing? Was this some sort of a display of affection? She didn't understand. And at that moment, she realized that there were a hell of a lot of things that she didn't understand at the moment. Why did she try so hard to seem like she knew everything? Now all of her thoughts seemed absurd.
Then she just realized that she didn't want him to go. Her reaction was cute to him, though as he backed away, his eyes lit up from a glimpse at the moon as well. At first he was stepping backwards and still facing her, but he slowly turned around and walked in the correct direction. He paused before he left, and turned his head back towards her. "If there ever is the slightest chance you see me in the daylight, do come talk to me. I would love to see your lovely face in the eyes of the sun as well."
He walked away, wondering what was going through her mind, and hoping that his decision to walk away was the correct one.AnimeChickie Waiting, Heartless wasn't sure if she should stop him from leaving or not. She knew she would probably regret not stopping him, but... she wasn't sure at the moment. "Wait Ariston." Running up beside him, Heartless looked up at him. "How about we take a walk." She didn't know what else to say besides that to make an excuse to stay with him. The mare didn't want this to be the last time she ever saw him. The strangest and most unlikely thing Ariston could have ever imagined was what Heartless did. He seriously thought she was going to walk away, and stay hidden in the shadows. But it seemed.. she wanted something else from him.
"A walk would be lovely." He said, putting on a charming smile. "I must say, I am happy that you are here next to me." It was a strange feeling, having her this close to him. Plus, the fact that she initiated it made him smile immensely.
"Any preference on where to go?" AnimeChickie Even Heartless surprised herself. Would the old Heartless have done the same thing? Probably not, so maybe she was beginning to make some progress. The mare nodded softly. "Likewise." She put it simply as she looked over at him. Shrugging slightly, "Nope, you pick."
For some odd reason, Heartless was feeling content now that she had bought some more time with Ariston... What an odd feeling. She really needed to start understanding herself more. Ariston himself was making progress, he was actually caring for someone else. They were sharing a strange bond together, and it felt as nice for him as it did for her. "I pick? Well, if it was my pick I would have dragged you in the skies by now, but I know you are not a fan." Making a pouty face, he looked at her glowing eyes, and smiled at their brilliant glow.
"But, hmm I guess I must pick a direction." Looking right and left, he pondered which was looked better.
He didn't know the area well, especially since it was nightime. He would have to just go with his insticts.AnimeChickie Heartless couldn't help but give a slight smirk, it would be difficult for her to give a genuine smile even if she wanted to. The mare nodded and waited to see where they would head. She was pretty familiar with the territory they were in now since this was where she usually lurked. She couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking at the moment, was she acting weird or was this okay or what?
Pushing the thoughts to the back of her mind, Heartless continued to look up at Ariston. "Lets just wander over there, getting lost is always fun." He inched forward, waiting for her to follow right next to him. He wasn't used to the fact that she was now sticking towards him, but he liked the idea of being close to her. He moved his hair to the othe side of his body so he could easily see her face from the side nearest to her.
"So, now that we are both pretty comfortable, tell me more about you, Heartless. I would be happy to open up as well." How strange, before he was chasing her, and her to him, and now they were side by side by choice.AnimeChickie It definitely was a change for Heartless, but so far, it seemed alright. She hadn't noticed before, but now she saw how long his golden hair was. "Hm. What would you like to know? As amazing at it sounds, there's a lot to tell if you're going to be that vague." Heartless walked alongside him, ocassionally looking out at the dark landscape around them, but most of the time she kept her gaze on Ariston. "I guess.. more about you in the sense of dreams and aspirations. I know we both have a loving desire with being evil, so there is a start. What else do you do in your free time? I am happy hearing anything." She was still a mystery to him, and although they filled a closeness gap, he was always pondering what she was all about. He was content hearing everything at the moment, he was just enjoying the night.
The moon was creating a nice path of light for them, and they walked forward, illuminating it's warm glow. AnimeChickie "Hm. I don't really... dream persay, but I guess I do have aspirations if you could consider it that. I travel alone, and sometimes it would be nice to have company. To find someone like that would be nice, but so far I haven't been able to really succeed in that area. Either way, I'm content." What she was talking about was almost like a partner in crime. "What about you? Is there anything you want to do with your life?" It felt weird for her to actually be asking questions, but it was alright for the time being considering who her company was. Ariston may have been acting differently around Heartless in some aspects, but when it came to talking about oneself, he was an expert. "Well, at first my mindset was weak, and I wasn't sure about anything, including my Kalona blood mixed with my Sinhood. But then a friend of mine pounded into my head a better way of thinking, and now I just want to keep living my life brilliantly." He chuckled, almost sounding as if it was a speech. "Life is funny in that sense, I am just glad I don't abide to being 'Just a Kalona. I am not sure how you feel about such a subject, but I refuse to follow others."AnimeChickie "Fascinating." It seemed like he always knew what exactly to say. "Yea, I do my own thing and if they don't see eye to eye with me then whatever." Heartless paused slightly, "But then again, I've never really seen eye to eye with anybody before. Actually... then again, I've probably had very few real conversations in my life." She couldn't help but giggle slightly which was something that was very uncharacteristic for her unless she was tormenting someone. She was opening up, and showing other kinds of emotions then before. "That's great, I am actually really happy to hear that. I find myself extremely dissatisfied with other Kalona lately, preaching about one race and blech." He stopped himself, only to see Heartless giggling, which made him smile. "Either way, it is always good to believe in what you believe in." He nodded calmly.
"So, you have never had any other run-ins or convos before?" His face felt a bit sad, but he continued to look at her, pondering the reality of it.AnimeChickie Heartless shrugged. "I never really bothered with the politics of this area. It's quite troublesome for something that matterred so little. Pausing to think, "Um. I've had several other conversations before if you could call them that. They never really lasted long enough though." Heartless shrugged slightly, "Yea, never... too long. And I assume you've talked to more people then myself correct?" "Yes, I am quite the social one, though people seem to flock to me. It helps with scheming very much." He chuckled, knowing how all Soquili thought of him as the littlest threat in the world. Little did they know he was the most deadly of sins. "Have you spoken with any other Kalona? It is hard for me to keep the attention of them, and it usually ends up with some kind of violent dilemma."
He figured that she layed low when it came to conversations, but he still felt sad that she had to be so lonely all the time. "Wasn't it hard not having anyone to connect with? I mean, even I sometimes feel that way with a constant flow of people around me." AnimeChickie "I see." Heartless wasn't surprised though since she even had to admit that he seemed elegant and outgoing, definitely the complete opposite of Heartless. "I have spoken to... one other kalona besides you. I haven't seen very many kalona, but I guess I'm just not in the right place at the right time." The mare shrugged once more, she seemed to be shrugging a lot tonight.
"Hm? Connect with? I'm not quite sure what that means, but no. I never really felt that I needed someone to talk to. Am I supposed to socialize with others? I'm not sure what the norm is anymore. But either way, I was content, not happy, just content." "Heh, I seem to be flocking around them lately. It is strange, for I am so different to them. Do you find me odd, Heartless?" He chuckled to her, feeling comfortable enough to throw her a joke.
"There are feelings that are waaaay better then content, I hope you get the chance to feel them someday." He nodded, knowing that everytime he looked at himself in the waters reflection he was waay more then content. "I truly hope you have the opportunity to experience them."AnimeChickie Heartless pondered the question but she didn't have to think too hard, "Actually, yes Ariston. I think you're just a tad bit odd but remember who it's coming from. A kalona that probably has socialized less then some of the trees here." What an odd comparison. Oh well, that was Heartless for you.
"Oh? What other feelings are there Ariston?" The mare was curious to know since she had never really been around things like that before. It was a cute joke that she had made, and Ariston chuckled at the sound of it. Heartless probably didn't even realize she had made a joke, but it was funny indeed. Smiling to her, he just nodded playfully as they walked.
"Oh goodness, where to start.." He knew that she had probably already felt sadness, despair, and emotional pain, so he strayed away from those bits. "There are feelings of happy things, and your mind and body become filled with a delightful feeling. There are also angry feelings, proud feelings, hungry feelings.." Dumbstruck, he sat there pondering what else there was. It had seemed that he had named off some of his favorite. AnimeChickie Raising a brow at his chuckle, Heartless did not comment or ask. Heartless wasn't quite sure what she had felt, everything just seemed clumped to gether as one thing. "I'm not quite sure what that is, but I guess I'll take your word for it."
Pausing slightly, Heartless was kind of surprised that she had even said that. She didn't trust anyone, or at least she thought she didn't trust anyone... Guess things change sometimes. Ariston sighed, only out of exhaustion, but was happy that she had reached a better point of comfort with him. "Do you always stay up this late, Heartless? I know you are not a fan of the sunlight, but it really is nice to be out in the day. Bathing in the sunlight feels great."
He knew that she was one who loved shadows, but still, he would have enjoyed being out with her at some point in the daytime. He wanted others to be jealous of her, for she was a unique Kalona, just as he was. He enjoyed seeing other's reactions to beauty.AnimeChickie "Stay up late? This is usually the time I am wandering about. I sleep for mostly during the day." Heartless paused slightly, "Well, whenever I go into the sunlight, I feel a sort of uncomfortable burning sensation. Therefore, I'd rather not."
She probably could go out in the daylight if she wanted to but it would take some getting used to. But for some reason, she really didn't want to...

[PRP] In Thread Feb 3rd 07 Ghost and Sandlewood Lady Twitch Biting on his inner cheek, Sandelwood found himself watching the tree branches sway up and down in slow twitches. He did not need to know the feeling of the snow gushing off each branch, from where he stood. It already nipped against his chest. Shaking his hair to get the the beads of snow from his hair off, only for it to be quickly covered again. "If there was a being who made this white mass, it is more so they like pranks." he muttered. Walking forward, he lifted his head. Something warm in the air- he had thought. Funny. Wouldn't another being be huddled against their heard in such? Though, who am I to say? I run among none. Sandelwood thought to himself. Though, just in case, he had shook the snow off once again, in a feeble attempt. Tweekend Her dark wings winced together, as each piece of wind hit her harder by the second. The uncomfortable temperature as well as snow kept hitting her delicate body, and she grumped at her situation. Ghost wasn't one who usually complained, though in this case it was because she was completely uncomfortable. Her decision to stray off for a bit had proven itself to be ridiculous, and she sighed at her silly ways. Shaking as she walked, she slowly shivered forward, in hopes of finding something comforting up ahead. Lady Twitch Sandelwood noticed the black twitching wings. They almost reminded him of a butterfly wings, for the second, but he shook his head. 'If that was a butterfly, I would think its legs were a bit deformed.' Chuckled to himself. It was something that you would not see. No- too tall, and too pale to be of such. It took a second glance to notice it was- yes a winged mare. Sandelwood had looked his back, for a second in ponder- 'Nope. Not a conspiracy.' He smirked. He knew it would not be, but couldn't hurt to check. Moving forward to approach the winged entity, he only did it slowly, lifting his head though, to get a better look, before haulting in front of her.
"Is it safe to mix in the snow, but be prone?"
He was curious by her wings, how they twitched, almost like an angered wild cat. Though he himself might have not much room to speak, he had noticed, remembering his vain attempts to keep the snow from making ornaments on his mane. Tweekend Turning abrutly to the sound of a voice, Ghost lifted her gaze to a brightly colored stallion. He stood tall, and his colors were easily seen in the white of the enviornment.
"Oh um, what?" She said, in her soft voice, taken aback not only by the stallion, but by his question. "I apologize, I just am so darn cold." Feeling her teeth jitter, she flapped her wings again to make sure they hadn't froze. "This weather does no good for my wings."
She realized that she obviously had confused or interested the stallion, though either way she was happy for the company, as well as a new face. Unsure about anything, and with her mind feeling frozen, she stepped into a more comfortable position on the cold ground, and went to face the stallion fully on.
"I do not believe we have met before, my name is Ghost." She smiled, using the warmth she had left in her. "What is your name?" Lady Twitch Tilted his head. Odd creature, but she was perhaps just like him, in some odd sense. Raising a brow Sandelwood had tried not to laugh, but he just gave shy smile. "You know... I don't think it helps, but I have to say, I've never seen a butterfly in the snow." Studying the lines of the wings though, he then nodded. Looking about, he saw a patch of dirt, under two pine trees. Behind those trees were more pines, and he just gave a sheepish grin, and looked back at her. "Well, you're in luck for the moment being. I think there is a patch of heated ground." What he had meant is uncovered dirt, and dead pine needles. It was at much comfort to temperatures of warm blooded beings, for just a bit of heat had wove through the bundles, he remembered as it was starting to become winter.
He lifted his gaze from her eyes, to look forward for better options. "Not trying to be forward." He laughed, and shook his head. "It just seems you could use a bit of shelter. Standing there, he did not actually try to even sound much of anything but sincere. 'Kind of hard not to worry. Froen wings might actually break if it gets worse... Though she could just yell at me, if she chose.' thought Sandelwood with a smirk with a silly mental image, but went back looked to the winged being with concern. Tweekend "This is my fault, well, straying off.." Blushing, she looked at the stallion carefully, wondering what he was looking at. "Are my wings weird?" As a natural twitch, they wiggled at the sound of themselves, and continued to shake in a frozen dismay.
"Heated ground?!" The thought of such a thing made her ignore he achy body, and rise up in posture again. "How ever did you find such a thing?" She peered in the direction he was looking towards, imagining a vivid cave with a fire. To her suprise, there seemed to be trees, and well, more trees. "I seem to be confused.." Her reaction was priceless, and although her mind was telling her to expect something much more dramatic, her confusion made her ignore the dry ground ahead of them.
Hearing his other statement though, made her look back at him in her innocent glee. "I think you are being just fine, sir. I do appreciate you finding a warmer area. I really am clumsy today" Trying to hide her dissapointment, she kept her smile on towards him. Lady Twitch Sandelwood had watched her behavior to this. It almost reminded him of his excitement to escape parental watch, when he was a foal, though only to find out it didn't change him all that much. To this he grinned. "The pine under those trees, they are dead, but with a simple touch of warmth, it heats of almost thoroughly. With one of us, we'd be able to keep from being frozen, with two, well. The pines would already be fine enough, but it only helps.
He was fond with nature. What he could always learn. Such as moss on the ground. Unlike grass, it can come off the ground in sheets if pushed properly. Though he noticed he soft tone. She hasn't yelled at him, or given any--- quick judgments yet. Not exactly a usual kind of thing, but he probably wasn't usual to her. Or was he? He only knew that not much changed the fact that she seemed misplaced in the snow. In a friendly manner though, he would not mind protecting her, till spring. Not much of a 'sweet' thing, but more on the concern of wing damage if the snow was ever to bite at her wings maliciously, it'd be unfair. He moved towards the trees, and offered her a welcoming in to the pines to see for herself, even though a raccoon seemed to pass by. He grinned, because it looked as if it could shake its little paws at him in agitation. Instead it scampered off, and up onto a tree.
Better watch out for that one, he would have to remind himself. http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?page=1&t=7709479#98922896[PRP]Thread Made (Continued) "I am impressed you know this much." She said, letting out a light giggle. It reminded her of a time when she and her brother had run off as foals. With no knowledge of anything, they had to await their sister to save them, as a usual thing. Getting lost or beaten by weather seemed to be a likely scenario. She did like to imagine herself surviving some harsh adventure, though here she was again, being saved for her own silly ideas.
"I do appreciate the kindness you are showing me, sir." She said, hoping to be pollite as her parents had shown her. It was as if she had sprouted out as an adult too quickly, and there were many things for her to learn.
"What were you doing in this harsh weather, if you don't mind me asking. Its just very unpleasant, so I am suprised to see another wandering about." That thought struck her mind instantly, and she wondered what brought him out for a wander.

http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?page=1&t=7850575#100270679Innocence Meets Red (Ghost and Guilian) Feb 14th 07 The young mare tip toed through the mush of snow, and patiently watched herself step by step. The day had brought a cover of sunshine, and it was melting the horrid snow that covered the land. Although it was pleasant outside, it was terrible to walk through the slippery mess. Trying to use her wings as balanced, she felt herself shifting from side to side occasionally.
The Uniflutter mix let her thoughts drift, and as usual she imagined herself in an adventurous scenario. Thinking that she was conquering a shifty mountainside, she giggled at the thought of it all. Letting herself dream calmed her, and instead of dealing with issues that her sister had usually reminded her of, she calmly smiled at the day that was in front of her.
Being a new type of mix never phased her, she was one who would never judge another or herself. She was proud of what her father and mother gave her, and it was something she held dear to her heart.
Cajmera How utterly, irrevokably disgusting. Sighing to himself, the brightly colored stallion flew along mere feet above the ground, eyeing the slushy groundcover with distaste. Snow he didn't mind too much; snow could be ignored. Slush, however, was much more complicatd; it clung to teh limbs, soaking through to the very bones; it muddier the landscapes and coats in connection...and then there was the slipping issue. No, there was not a single redeeming quality to slush.
Long hours of flight had filled the stallion with a desire toland and rest his wings, but now it seemed as if his only options were to keep flying or to land in that disgusting slop. Not a hard choice at all.
Guilian had just made up his mind to ascend once more when suddenly a flick of color aught his eyes...and as he turned to look at the source, suddenly hanging around didn't seem such a bad idea.
A mare it was, pink as a garden flower with a mane an interesting shade of blue, a shapely body, and one of the most interesting pairs of wings he'd ever seen; they reminded him of a butterfly's wings, but he'd never seen a butterfly bearing wings as black as the night sky.
Well, obviously the ground had something to reccomend it after all! Smiling already, Guilian flew over to where the mare was walking along and called out merrily, "Good day to you, Chica! Enjoying the warm weather?" Creeping out of her dreamlike thoughts, she looked back at the stallion that had seemed to appear out of nowhere. His suave look made her eyes look up and down, and he radiated a confidence that she admired. She was confused by what he meant when he said 'Chica', though brushing it away, she looked him in the eyes in a cheerful manner.
"Hello there, eerm, what is your name, sir?" She said, blushing and realizing she didn't even know his name yet. "My name is Ghost, and yes, the weather is quite nice. I am not enjoying the mush, though." Looking down again, her hooves had changed from their usual calm coloring to the dull ground. It seemed as though she was standing in a swampy mess.
"You legs are still very clean, flying seems like it would be a good idea." She giggled, feeling a bit foolish. "I have yet to master these wings, though I enjoy them." Letting her horn sparkle in the waves from the sun, she gleamed, happy to have some company. She had not met many Soquili yet, and was excited to see what the stallion had to say.
Cajmera Guilian all but burst out laughing; not even a 'yes I am' or 'no, it's terrible' but right to the point! Points were always excellant, that they were, and whether or not this mare knew how refreshing it was to have at least one obstacle eliminated, he was more than happy to oblige. "That would be Guilian, Chica; and your name is Ghost?"
As he said her name, he drawled out the vowel and the s, speaking the name as sensually as he could. "A charming name; hopefully it doesn't imply I'm speaking to a spirit, though. While I'm by no means adverse to otherworldy company, I've always prefered the companionship of the living."
Chuckling a bit as his own comment, Guilian allowed himself to alight, frowning a bit as he hooves sunk into the slush but otherwise making no illusion to his displeasure there. After all, of the lady had to deal with it, he wouldn't do so rude as thing as remain aloft!
Her comment brought forth a nod of recognition to that fact, however, and a tsk of sympathy. "Indeed, this slushy ground cover is most unsuited for walking, yet in the case of many there seems to be no choice. In your case, that's truly a pity; I'd offer advice on flight, but I must confess your wings baffle me; I've never seen their like!" And there was honest admiration in his voice as he eyes the black wings before allowing his gaze to drift down her body to her mud-splattered legs. "Have you been walking out here long, Chica?" Hearing him state Guilian excited her, for the name was fitting for the brightly colored stallion. "Guilian," She said quitely, letting her tongue get used to the word. She wondered if it was alright for her to be out by herself, talking to a stallion of all Soquili. Though, she was grown up now, and needed to make her own decisions. Besides, he didn't seem threatening, or mean at all.
Giggling at his comment, she responded, "Well, I would hope that I am more than a spirit." Fluttering her wings, she smiled again. "I think it is safe to say that most would prefer the living, Guilian. To say otherwise would be.. strange?" Letting out a bit of a louder laugh, she tried to hold in as much as she could, for she wanted to be pollite at the same time.
"My wings, well they are from my mother." She kept her head high as she stated that, and gleamed at the thought of her mother. "She is beautiful and bright, and although my wings are black like the coloring of my father, I enjoy that I can represent them well. My brother and sister do not have wings like this, so I like to think I am special." Moving the bangs out of her face, she liked that her brother and sister all had different attributes from their parents.
"I have, though I don't mind it. I haven't taken an embarrassing fall yet, and I figured if so did happen, that I would change my mind." She shifted her foot in the fear of doing so that moment. Cajmera "That makes two of us, Chica; and odd as the occurance might seem, there are those that tend to eschew the company of the living whenever possible. I can't see that as a mode of life I myself embrace, but to each their own, I suppose."
Ghost's amusement was as amusing to Guilian as the words that caused said amusement, for it was a sheer pleasure to watch her laugh; the way her eyes crinkled and the corners of her mouth turned up was a delight to the eyes just as her laughter itself was a melody to the ears.
But beyond the appreciate glance and accompanying smile, Guilian made no indication that he found her so intriguing; there was time enough for such talk later. Right now, he was focused on the moment; getting to know this lovely mare with the intriguing wings. "I am to assume that your mother was a flutter, yes? I've never met one myself, but to my knowledge they are the only breed that bears your sort of wings. Their color is quite unique, though, and I must admit that they were the first to catch my eye."
As he spoke, Guilian extended one of his own wings, gently stroking the black flutter wings at the point they joined Ghost's body. "Their uniqueness can only be a boon for you though, Chica, and must be a true joy to both your parents, combining characteristics of both as they are. Indeed, I must think that your brother and sister ought to be at least somewhat resentful that they DIDN'T inherit such lovely wings. Though it must be somewhat chagrinning to you that you cannot fly with them, particularly in this slush."
At that, he glanced down at the slush underfoot with a sigh of distaste, lifting one hoof and gently shaking off the clinging slush. "Obviously it could be worse; unpleasant as it must be for you to have to wander about in this muck, I can imagine it would be far more unpleasant for you to fall and have the mud marr your otherwise tidy appearance." Ghost's eyes widened as she noticed the stallion doing something that she didn't expect. Although he was kind with his words, she was a bit taken aback that he suddenly moved closer to her. Pushing her weight to her back legs, she tried to keep her smile, but felt uncomfortable from his movements.
"They may not have inherited these wings, but they still are unique in their own ways. All of us look completely different, so that to me means more than just wings, of course. We all represent different aspects, and I think that's what makes me happiest of all." Nodding to him, she smiled at the vision of her siblings and family.
Trying to stay pollite, she tried to make her body more comfortable, but her senses were raging with confusion. Never had she been this close to random Soquili, and a part of her was a bit frightened.
"Sometimes I find that walking in this is practice, if one can conquer this, then they could conquer anything." The thought made her feel like she was referring to one of her adventures, but she brushed it off, ignoring her silly mind.
Interested in hearing about the stallion, she perked her ears happily and asked, "So what is your life story, Guilian? I seemed to have talked about my family too much." She couldn't help it, naturally. They were extremely important to her, though she was curious about the stallion's own lifestyle.Cajmera She was tensing up...obviously he was moving too fast. And he didn't feel like losing another mare to that mistake; even ONCE was too many times. So as soon as he realized that Ghost wasn't comfortable with his proximity, Guilian was stepping back and reinstating the space between them.
But beyond that, he made not even the slightest sign that he was even paying attention to anything beyond their conversation; his priorities revolved around establishing a comfort level, first and foremost. So the primary emotion beyond his smile of agreement was thoughtfulness at her family statements.
"I suppose that in the end, it all depends on what you and your siblings feel is the most important. It's a strange thought, though, since I myself never had any siblings so that dynamic is rather foreign to me; consequently, I suppose I rather frequently make a fool of myself with a lack of regard."
The smile that he gave her at that was sheepish, the look of one that knew that they'd put their foot in it. Of course, he realized that he had, although not QUITE entirely for the reasons he was vocalizing. "So let me just say, I apologize if I happen to come off badly; just let me know, and I'll immeadiately take steps to correct myself."
That seemed to segway almost perfectly into her last question, and he allowed himself to chuckle at the linkage. "And I suppose in that line I've been awfully remiss, letting you do all the talking and merely making the various motions of agreement. Hardly fair, I suppose, but from the sound of it you've had a much more balanced life than I have. Are you sure that you'd be so interested in the gory details of my life?"
Taken literally, that might be an accurate representation of his lifestyle; however, his tone was light and teasing. He never hid what he was, after all...just delayed the inevitable from time to time. Pouting a bit, she looked at him sadly, realizing that there she was talking about her family so much, when he didn't even have one as hers. Before she spoke, she thought carefully, but her face brightened up again just as she was about to speak. "Well, family isn't always blood related, of course." Nodding, she excitedly continued, feeling like she had made a discovery. "Family is just being around the ones you care about, smiling and laughing, I'm sure you have that and sometimes don't realize it."
Acting in a bubbly manner, Ghost flicked her bangs to the side so her eyes could be clear again. "I don't think you have come off badly, Guilian. " She said, hopefully reassuring him. "I am just, still new to everything I guess."
"Having a balanced life doesn't necessarily make one better than the other." She lightly turned her head to the side, and playfully winked back, trying to play the game with him. She really was not one who was witty or keen, but she sensed that he was suave towards her. "Well, since you have stated this much, how could I not be interested now?" Cajmera Sympathy or interest? Probably sympathy; for some reason, mares seemed to think it was a tragic thing that he didn't really have a family. He supposed he would have thought the same, had he ever really HAD a family...but he'd always thought his life had been decent. So he'd had to hack it on his own when he was young; there were worse things. He'd turned out just fine, regardless.
But while the chance to use that pity always existed, Guilian never liked the idea of mares giving into him because of sympathy. His looks, his charm, his excitement factor, those were fine; any combination was fine, in fact; but he, Guilian, was NOT to be pitied.
Consequently, he responded in his usual fashion to the mare's kind words, words he supposed were meant to assuage any hurt feelings he might harbor. Smiling, he shook his head at Ghost, though her concern was touching. "To be frank, Chica, I've been on my own since I was very young; since then, I've spent most of my life on the move and consequently never really developed any 'familial' relationships. A nomadic lifestyle is hardly conducive to devloping ties of any sort, after all. That said, I'm delighted to know I haven't offended you. It's easy to act without thinking, after all."
That said, he folded back his wings, taking a few steps away in a thoughtful manner, though the look he gave her was amused. One moment she's nervous, the next she's flirting with him! Both perplexing and amusing, overall charming, and very much the behavior of an innocent...damn but she was an intriguing one. Wet feet or not, this meeting was so proving to be worth it. At her last comment, though, he looked back at her, his black eyes dancing with amusement.
"Really? So you want to hear about my life, huh? What if I were to tell you that my life involves moving from place to place, romancing each and every mare I come across? Would you still be interested then?" He was all but laughing as he spoke, amused at his own behavior. After all, what he said wasn't entirely true; he never hit on the mated, the betrothed, or the young. Beyond that, though...well, the sky's the limit!
But would she believe that? His life was so different, and it gave her a sense of wonder. As he was speaking, she wondered if because he lived a sort of loner life, if that meant his was more adventurous then most. "Although I am not familiar with that type of life, it sounds like it is face paced, that sounds like it might be nice.." For her, sometimes everything felt like it was in slow motion, and she wanted more from that. Maybe, hearing about his life could give her a better sense on some of the other things life had to offer.
He had slowly backed away from her, and to that she gave a very pollite nod. That kind of move from him was something she was not used to, and wasn't even sure how to react to. It embarrassed her, though she wanted to remain herself and not try to be anyone else. She was thankful he was kind in that sense.
"Well, of course! It sounds like a very interesting story. I am not one to judge, Guilian. I am someone who is infatuated with stories, and yours may be more then interesting in this sense." She was a dreamer, after all. Even when she was younger, hearing stories was her most favorite thing. Cajmera "Indeed, Chica; fast paced when I wish it to be, relaxed when I need a break; I am my own master, and live as the moment dictates. Not exactly a decent system for those that value stability or constancy, but I've always considered those acquired tastes."
And considering that he couldn't even stick to one mare, asking him to stick to one location was flat-out ridiculous. You acquire a taste for freedom, it becomes second nature to embrace it. After all, to be tied down means answering to another besides yourself, and then your freedom went right out the window.
Metaphorically, of course.
However, he had to admit that he was amused at how Ghost was reacting to his little story. The allure of the nomadic lifestyle was something he understood, having heard more than once about the tedium of being in one place, but her reaction to his (barely) exaggerated lifestyle description was enough to make him literally crack up.
An entertaining story, eh? That was a new one. He was wild in a sense, his own being, determining things as he wanted them. "I sort of envy that life, it sounds nice.. Though, I have plenty of time to choose mine." She turned her head, pondering such a thing.
Though, there was one thing that did confuse her. There were many males that choose to drift from females for a portion for their life, but then they would somehow find the right one. Guilian though, seemed to differ. "So, doesn't it get lonely, traveling from mare to mare? What happens when you have conquered them all?" She giggled, feeling silly for saying such. Though, it felt like that was Guilians goal overall.
Ghost hadn't been taught a 'specific' way of life, though it was emphasized that when she fell in love, she would stay with him, or something. Moving from female to female.. did that mean that there is no love? "If you have seen so many females, doesn't that take away the beauty of true love? Or does a thing even exist?"
Her little mind flustered with the contrast of the stallions lifestyle, and she pawed at the ground worriedly. Maybe she was so interested because she herself was confused as well.Cajmera Lonely. She was actually asking if it was lonely to live on teh love of many...
If he hadn't known it before, she was definitely marked as an innocent now. Still chuckling in amusement at her naievete, he decided that now was as good a time as any to enlighten the dear girl to the TRUE outlook of life, as told by Guilian.
Flipping up a wing, Guilian nonchalantly adjusted the black rose nestled in his mane, an amused smile on his lips. "Truly, this is a new experience for me, Chica; most mares seem to either feel bound to castigate me to the deepest pits of hell or else swear that my lifestyle is the best possible; never before has anyone expressed such interesting opinions to me as you just have. So, since we're both being honest, allow me to enlighten you as to what I think."
So saying. Guilian took another step away from Ghost, lifting both wings to rest them comfortably on the back of his head as he began, yet again, to speak.
"You ask whether I am not lonely, Chica; such is not possible when virtually every day I am able to meet a new mare, a mare whose stroy is unique to her and only her, something I"ve never heard before. And just as no two stories are the same..." Here he trailed off, smiling a bit as he pondered the best way to say this to an innocent before moving on. "No two mares are the same. And to conquer them all is improbable, Chica, as more are born, more grow up; however, just because I enjoy a healthy dose of variety doesn't mean I don't again desire what I have before enjoyed. Should the mood take me or the opportunity arise, I would happily seek out and enjoy one of my previous ladies, and have done so many times. So...I'd probably just keep cycling."
He was thoroughly enjoying himself; not just the telling, but also watching her for a reaction. She had started the ball rolling, but he doubted she'd expected THIS.
And as for true love...
"True love, Chica, is a concept I've never put much faith in. It's all about the assumption that there is ONE individual that you are willing to bind yourself to forever; the longest I've spent with one mare is a week, and that was a strech. I could never limit myself in such a fashion, nor would I expect any of my lady friends to. As I see it...love is a physical thing; what we share, a mare and a stallion, is beautiful and should be cherished and spread, NOT limited to one alone. However, don't get me wrong."
Here he gave Ghost a conspiratorial wink, his eyes dancing. "I have naught but the utmost respect for those that choose monogamy, and never knowingly interfere with an attached mare. Just because I don't believe in it doesn't mean I can't respect it." Well, he sure was a good talker. Ghost's eyes were slightly widened as he spoke, trying to take in the jumbles of information. "I guess I can see why mares would do that, heh I try to never judge though." She giggled lightly. "Its not my position to ever judge someone else's lifestyle as well."
"I guess, I meant a lonliness that can be apparent at times. Like, for example, some couples can go months without seeing each other, though can never be lonely out of such love. But, some who are with each other every day still experience a lonliness because their isn't a closeness that some feel. So, is that closeness not important to you, or could it still exist? I hope I am not offending you with these questions, I am just interested." She blushed deeply.
How crazy it must of been for him, to deal with so many females! "How do you do it, Guilian? Females are.. crazy! Even I can admit to that, I try to remain very calm and cool, though some females are clingy, jealous.. eep!" Ghost, had seen both sides of the female/male spectrum, though Guilian was indeed an interesting one. "So this must mean that males must not be very fond of you!" She let herself giggle once again. They must have been constantly looking out for a stallion like him! Cajmera "I would say that depends on the lifestyle one is accustomed to, Chica. I myself cherish each mare I meet, and flatter myself on developing a closeness with each and every one of them. Just because a relationship is short doesn't mean it can't be powerful, Chica, though I can understand confusion from one who hasn't experienced such."
As Guilian spoke, he'd started moving back towards the mare, a slight smile on his face as he noted the blush. Quite charming, to be sure; she was asking the most audaciously innappropriate of questions to a relatively strange stallion, yet she still had the innocence to blush. Where had that delightful combination of traits even COME from?
Her frank assessment of females caused him to laugh yet again, the rich tones rolling easily off of his tongue. "Ah, but you have hit it on the head, Chica. I love to deal with so many mares because each is different; some are tough and like to be in control, some are yeilding and desire to be romanced; some just want a little action without so much as an exchange of names...it's all different, and enough to satisfy virtually any mood."
He was now right beside Ghost, his dazzling smile on it's brightest setting. Maybe it was the conversation, maybe it was her; more likely it was some combination of the two; but it seemed as though she was becoming more intriguing by the second. Though he had to chuckle at the last bit; a trusim, to be sure! "And for the most part, no. Though that tends to be limited to familiy members of the mares in question; other singles might be threatened by me, but those confident enough in their prowess tend to get along with me just fine." "Developing a closeness? That is quite impressive, and a lot to handle! To remember every knick-nack.. goodness, that in itself is a skill." How strange it sounded, though nevertheless it was still unique! Ghost didn't really feel and opinion for it, she just enjoyed hearing about it.
As he walked closer, she stood her ground, though politely acknowledged him. He was being friendly anyways, and if anything were to make her uncomfortable, she would speak out just as last time. He obviously wasn't one who liked to upset ladies. A good trait indeed!
"I guess I never realized that, I mean females do have so many different preferences. Of course it is suprising for me, especially since I have been taught so many things. Though, all I want is to be as happy as my mother is with my father. I hope to acheive such." She smiled brightly. "Some things I guess I will never understand, but thats ok as well." The different motives of females.. and all her life she was told it was totally to blame on males! It seemed as though the spectrum is a bit adjusted.
He moved even closer, though it didn't phase her. He wasn't trying anything, and to her that was a good sign. She was comfortable now with his presence, and enjoyed his company more by the second. "That's good to hear, at least you aren't fighting or anything." Cajmera Guilian was still chuckling; it was as if he couldn't stop, and why not? Unlike so many other mares, this one actually seemed to understand where he was coming from, to appreciate the effort he put into what he did. Any stallion could sleep with the world's mares; it took a special type to ROMANCE them. And romance them he did, damn it.
"Indeed, Chica, I consider what I do, how I live, to be a calling of the highest order. I bring love, fulfillment, pleasure; I bring a feeling of joy to all of those who experience me, and to know that I have brought pleasure makes my life have true meaning. It's a special thing, Chica, but one that is hardly accepted and even more rarely understood."
It was far easily cast about names; rake and lecher, whore and slut. But then, such things never phased him; it was when the ignorant masses chose to castigate the mares he consorted with that he got annoyed. But that was a rare thing, as he tried to keep his various assignations on the lowdown.
Her frank assessments were rather delightful in their own way, however; it wasn't often he was agreed with, even among those that sought him out themselves! Smiling at her, he lowered his head in a polite bow, his muzzle barely brushing hers as he did so.
"Your concern is touching and somewhat well-founded, but rest assured, I try to avoid conflicts. For a stallion to interfere in the life of a mare, the stallion is usually very close to the mare; I could never so wound one of my loves as attacking their familiy or friends would undoubtably do. That said...I'm very good at defending myself. Likely you'd have to scour the earth to find a more agile stallion than I!"
And this was punctuated with a wink, belying the seriousness of the charge. Having your life threatened was never fun...although it could be amusing! She giggled at his confidence, and fluttered her wings at her amusement. She wanted a confidence like that, to be able to do what she wanted at any point. Though, she knew that those kind of decisions, as well as many of lifes came from experiences, and she would have to conquer more before that happened. And anyhow, that kind of life just wasn't for her!
"Well, if you are the most agile, then I guess even mares should watch out for you!" She giggled. "Maybe I should too? I'm sure my sister would be mad for me because I am speaking to one as yourself, but why not acknowledge a kind friend when they come along?" She nodded to him, giving him a tiny muzzle back. Her sister was very protective of her anyhow.
He was a bit confusing, though very straight with his words and actions. "I am thankful so far I am able to learn all of this information, though I am still a bit.. taken aback? It is different, but now I feel like I have seen everything!" She flicked her tail around playfully.Cajmera "Trust me, Chica, it would be no great surprise for someone to disapprove of me. Nor would it be surprising to be watched; nature doesn't bestow brightness such as mine on those meant to blend in, naturally."
This was accompanied by a wink, the amusement still snapping in his eyes. And why not?
"Though I have to say, Chica, that you've barely even begun to scratch the surface. Talking can only get one so far, after all, and explaining can hardly do such a glorious thing justice. However...I am always game for a little 'show' to go with all the 'tell', should you be so inclined..."
At this, Guilian's voice had dropped to a low, sultry murmur, the type of murmur that was designed to make mares go weak at the knees. Not that it always worked, but it was merely ONE weapon in what he liked to call his arsenal of charm. At the same time, he gently lifted his head, running his muzzle lightly along Ghost's jawline. "Because I would certainly be delighted to oblige." It was what Ghost feared, and the second his voice dropped into a low sound she realized that she was trapped in his grasp... well, kinda of course. Was he making a move on her?!? Stumbling on to her back feet, her weight was shifted almost too quickly, so she stumbled over a bit. Hopefully it was dramatic enough to give him his answer of NO!.
"Um..well, errm.." She shook her head and look down, gradually bring it up to show her bright red face. "I didn't think you saw me in that light, though I seem to have forgotten I am a female, which would equal that I am a target." She kept her voice calm, and was still a bit exasperated from his move. She shouldn't have been so naive, although she wasn't showing that kind of interest.. was she?! If she was, she needed to learn how to be more conservative!
"I am flattered, in a sense." She paused, closing her eyes elegantly. "I say in a sense, for don't you do this to all females?" It wasn't her place to act spicy, though she didn't want to get hit on just because. It upset her a bit, though she hid those emotions, but looked him in the eye confidently. "I enjoy your company, Guilian. I thought I made that clear. Though, I am not the kind of female you desire." And with that, she straightened her position, only to look back at him kindly.
It was a moment where she felt like she actually did something herself, and a part of her felt mature in a sense. She obviously could have just bucked him in the face like many would, though it wasn't that Guilian was a threat in that sense. Even if he was, she could handle him in her own way. Cajmera Once again, she managed to delight him with her behavior; he'd been able to tell almost the exact second that she'd become aware of his interest, and the moment her blush exploded he was laughing yet again.
Still chuckling, he gave her a charming smile. "Hardly a target, Chica; more like a goal. Though you underestimate yourself and disservice me in assuming that I would be interested in you solely because of your gender; I might be a rover, but I assure you that I am not entirely indescriminate in my choices. You are a lovely mare, Ghost, a VERY lovely mare, and what's more, you are in possession of a charming personality. Am I to be blamed because I find that attractive? And I assure you, you are very much the sort of mare that I desire."
This last bit was spoken with an amused wink, though he otherwise made no move to approach her again. After all, once rebuffed, twice patient. He wasn't an animal, after all, and if she was that certain of herself, he could respect that.
Unless, of course, she changed her mind; the ultimate bit of hope. A goal? Such flattery, and of course that is always something that one wants to believe, but Ghost just wasn't feeling it. "That is nice to hear, thank you, though I know what a smooth talker you are with your words. I mean, take it from my side, it is hard to believe that one such as yourself, who has been with so many different kinds of mares, could find me as something special." Giving a cheeky smirk, she decided it was alright to stick up for herself in this situation. Plus, what was there to believe!
"Trust me Guilian, I think you are an extremely charming male, and someone who I think could be a great friend of mine. I don't have a problem having male friends, you don't have state such." Stepping a bit closer to him, she motioned with her head a pollite gesture of acknowledgement. "I hope you don't geel uncomfortable after my foolishness."
How strange how strange, Ghost felt a sense of pride, but it was nice. She handled a situation that she used to watch others bicker about daily. At least now she knew how to handle herself with the male species, Guilian was a good teacher in a sense.Cajmera Tsking a bit, Guilian shook his head at Ghost, the amused smile still on his face. "There you go, making assumptions again, Chica; you need to learn not to assume until you've actually lived the life, as it were."
Still, he was far from put out. She hadn't gone running to the hills, or screamed at him, or dissolved into tears; he could be hopeful about the future. And enjoy the present, for that matter; she was still a very entertaining mare, regardless of whether or not she felt like being accomodating.
"And I am never uncomfortable, Chica, and certainly couldn't be now. Amused, intrigued, yes; uncomfortable, never. And for the time being, at least, I would be honored to be your friend."
Spreading his wings for emphasis, Guilian swept the mare a low bow; the sort of dramatic bow reserved for making a dramatic impression. Still, he couldn't stay formal for long; the eyes smiling up at her were still twinkling. "Though the moment you decide you want more, you have but to say that word...and I will be delighted to oblidge."
Old habits die hard, after all! She gave him one last smile, before shifting her body in the opposite direction. "Oh Guilian, I think there is a lot we can learn from each other, strangely enough." Turning her head back towards him, she flapped her tail and smiled.
"Oh I have enjoyed this. Though, I think I am going to take my leave on this note. Who knows what will happen the next time I run into you." She turned her head back, and started slushing away in the snow.
She paused for a second, and finished giggly, "And I will try not to assume as much anymore."
