ZOMG... I haven't posted in this thread yet eek Let me see here... favourite Duos...

Well in fighting and in slashing, Kurama and Hiei... There's chemistry between them no matter how you look at it. Even if you don't consider them lovers they just GET each other and they are such close friends.

As for romantic couplings... Yusuke and Keiko all the way! I mean for heaven's sakes towards the end of the series he proposes to her! It's the sweetest thing I have ever seen... and who can forget the kiss heart
Then of course there's Kuwabara and Yukina... I mean come on... that's just sweetness to the MAX.

As for couples I REALLY wish would bear fruit... Hiei and Mukuro... although I adore slashing Hiei with Kurama in fanfiction, I really think Hiei and Mukuro desperately need each other. They're another pair that just GET each other on some kind of third spiritual level... It's just so wonderful.

Sometimes people just like it in the fanbase. They don't always think it's necessarily in the show; they just like the idea. There's nothing wrong with that.

As for hinting, I personally believe there was a whole crap load of hinting at Hiei and Kurama. Now...the Hiei/Yusuke thing is a bit weird....but whatever they like, y'know.

I personally don't like Hiei/Mukuro. Not because I'm a slash fan. I think Kuwabara and Yukina should be together. (though I found it cuter when he liked Botan)

But personally, I can't stand the relationship or whatever it is, between Keiko and Yusuke. I won't deny they had...whatever...but I can never get myself to like it. -shrugs-

Pairs in fighting: Kurama and Hiei. -nods- One, they're actually partners, and two, it's totally awesome. biggrin

Pairs in things like fanfiction (couple): Koenma and Yusuke. Don't ask. xD I can't explain why I like it.

Pairs that seem obvious from the show (to me, of course): Kurama/Hiei. I like it, and I see it. Oh well. : )

Then, for straight things, I think it was funny, and semi-cute when Shizuru was in love with Sakyo. Of course Kuwabara being happy. -huggles Kuwabara plushie- With Yukina, or Botan (which is even better, I'd say)

I dunno. I think the entire things about friendship more than anything sexual. xDD

But when it comes to fighting as partners, I think the four main guys are the best team, and that's the end of it for me. : D

Hee hee, I love Koenma/Yuusuke too. There are weird hintings at it in my fanfiction.

Hm. I suppose in fighting I enjoyed Yuusuke and Hiei the most -- you don't ever really see them fight together much, but you see them fight each other a couple of times, and I love the way they spar. xd That little spat they had after Sniper was precious.

In slashing and fanfiction, Yuusuke/Kurama is my favorite all the way. I consider there to be hints of it liberally sprinkled throughout the DT, and I was immensely disappointed to see it more or less abandoned in the latter part of the series. There's just so much there -- I can't even explain where I see it. It just is. xp Other than that, Kurama/Hiei is running a hot second, and is honestly not tied only because I've seen it done so damn much. I think they connected well also.

As for Hiei/Mukuro, I kind of have to agree with Hieijaganshi127; they might be closer to each other than Hiei is to most people, but he's got a stronger tie of affinity with the rest of the team (with the possible exception of Kuwabara), and it's of a different kind as well. Yeah, they have similarly tragic backgrounds, but if that were enough to make him fall in love with someone I'm certain he'd be torn several different directions by now. Mukuro takes a lot of liberties (looking into Hiei's past while he's unconscious, without permission) and gives him her own personal information only when it suits her. She's definitely his superior, hierarchically speaking, and I think his pride would not permit him to be involved with her under that premise. As I read it, he needed her in a different way: she gave him purpose again, and something to do with his life, and a home in the Makai as her heir. I just can't find romantic attachment in there anywhere. *shrug* I dunno. It doesn't help that I don't care for Mukuro, but I think even objectively that it isn't quite right that way.

Hm. Odd. Because I think the manga almost made it canon--at least, that's what my sources say.
