Giovanna shook her head, closing her eyes lightly. I'm not doing anything, she replied, her voice growing softer. You just don't understand how frustrating it is for me. She opened her eyes and looked at Makoto. Really, I just can't handle it very well. I'm sorry.

When I get upset, I sometimes just snap. It's part of who I am, she sighed, waving her hands in front of his face as to show him her lengthy claws. I, unfortunately, inherited that from my wretched whore of a mother. Giovanna looked down, her nails shrinking back to their original length. My wings starting to flutter bothered me because they haven't done that since I was with someone... she trailed off, trying to remember exactly when it was they last moved like this. And the fact that they're doing it now just reminds me of him, and I'd rather not remember.

Makoto took a deep breath, looking to Giovanna. I see... do... you want to talk about him? he asked, not knowing how to help. Maybe... maybe he's around, and that's why they're fluttering?

I don't want to talk about him. And if I see him again, I'm going to... Giovanna growled again, her fingernails growing once more. She shook her head as to clear her mind of the thought of him. That's not why my wings are like this though, she said.

Riley made his way from the arcade, rather escorted by security. He snickered to himself as he made his way away from the door, pausing to look around the corner towards Makoto and Giovanna. He frowned some and moved nearer, his head tilting just slightly. Did fresh air help any, Giovanna? He asked softly, unsure what the two had been talking about while he finished off his tokens then harrassed staff because the machine he was playing ran out of tickets to reward him with. Or are your wings still bothering you?

She looked to Riley, her wings still adorned with talons, her nails long and her eyes red. Giovanna sighed in a rather annoyed tone, looking back to Makoto. It's not that something reminds me of him, she snarled, digging her nails into her hips. It's the fact that I take notice of boys like you, she said, turning to Riley. And you. She took a few steps backwards so she could lean against the wall again, tilting her head back to let out a loud scream.

Makoto frowned, wincing as he heard her scream. I don't know what to say, Makoto said, his mouth curving slightly into a smile. But what do you mean by notice boys like us? Don't you want to notice boys? Boys sure notice you. Well, we sure did... he said with a grin.

Riley winced and held his breath some as Giovanna let out her scream, and he covered his pointy little ears before shaking his head, trying to clear his thoughts once more. He blushed faintly at Makoto's words, but couldn't deny that to be the truth. He's right, you know...he started, his voice still soft. I definitely noticed you.

Don't say that! she groaned, looking up to the sky. You don't have to lie just to make me happy or anything. Giovanna took a deep breath and exhaled a long growl. There's a huge problem with noticing boys like you, especially the two of you in particular!

Riley shook his head some, a rather sarcastic laugh escaping him. Maybe she wants us to touch her, Makoto...he offered, shaking his head again as he shifted to sit on the ground, pulling gobs of tickets from his pocket to organize them some while he waited.
