The moment was already ruined by their fall...so it wouldn't matter what Reynee did anymore did it? The cat giggled sheepishly into the kiss, finally pulling away and snuggling against Dusk, she knew full well where she was...and she really didn't mind it. "Oh my..." Reynee breathed out, blushing a bright crimson. "I-I'm really...sorry...about that..." Sorry, yes. But did she want to get up now? No.
"You're pretty comfy, Dusk." She purred, closing her eyes and shifting her body so she was more comfortable on him. He really was soft! Like a big teddy bear! Her big teddy bear that is.

Dusk blinks up at Reynee slowly as she pulls back, swallowing gently and clearing his throat. He watches her, hand still firmly pressed to the small of her back. "...are you all right...?"He swallows again, slowly shaking his head to show that it was all right, she just fell is all. His mind had to do a double take at what Reynee said next, blinking at her and eyes widening as she shifted ontop of him to get comfortable. He slowly starts to blush, giving a shudder as he watches her intently.

Reynee purred happily and nodded, leaning in to steal a soft kiss before pulling back and kneading gently at Dusk's chest like a cat. It wasn't a far cry from the truth, seeing how she was a cat. "Perfectly fine, thanks for asking." She giggled softly when she noticed the blush, closing her eyes and laying her head on his chest. It really was comfortable laying here...on...Dusk...oh crap, was she seriously laying on Dusk?!
It was Reynee's turn to blush, suddenly lifting her head and staring at Dusk with a nervous smile. "That is...er...I...I can get off y-you if you don't...like me laying...on...you?" Oh God, oh God, oh God.

The kiss is what sealed it really, making a small nosie escape his throat. His eyelids flutter half closed before his one hand continues to rub circles on her back, the other moving to bury itself in her hair and gently press her head towards him kissing her slowly. Dusk lets out a shuddering sigh as he held her quietly, fingers gently massaging at her back. She was so warm and soft in his arms, and the nosies she made, oh god. He ignored her babbling and just pressed to kiss her again, hand just petting at her back gently, the one in her hair cradling her head, not forcing into the kiss but enough to show he didn't want it to stop.

Reynee's purring grew as loud as it could, gripping Dusk's shoulder's tightly as he kissed her. Nothing else would ever feel this good would it? The cat's tail hung limp behind her and her ears lowered against her hair, pressing into the kiss more and more after every time Dusk pulled away. The only thing she cared about at the moment was him, and Reynee had become like putty in the boy's arms, kissing was just so addictive! His taste, his smell, his touch! It made her skin crawl! Oh how she wished she could have more!
Reynee froze, catching herself the moment that thought came to her mind. What the hell...? "D-Dusk?" She whispered the first chance she was given, turning her face so that if Dusk wanted to kiss her again her lips would still be free for her to talk.

Dusk gave another soft nosie at Reynee's purring, he couldn't understand why the sound made him so....so.....something. His hand moved up to curiously pet at the fur of her ears, leaning into the kiss happily as she did as well. She tasted..good...odd that a person could taste good wasn't it? He wanted to pet her tail but...that was...too close to her bottom, though...he blushes as he though about putting his hand there as well.
Dusk blinks as she tenses, eyes opning and watching her as she pulled back a little, nuzzling at her a little with his nose. "...yes...Reynee?"

Reynee squeezed her eyes shut and let out a happy mew at the feeling his petting was giving her, it felt so wonderful! Her ears had to be one of the most sensitive spots on her body...
One of them.
The cat opened her eyes and blinked, suddenly forgetting why she had even said Dusk's name. Was there even a reason she had said it other that to just hear his voice reply? The cat giggled softly and nudged him gently with her own nose, just staring into his eyes for a minute in thought. Why? Why had she broken the kiss to just say his name? "I..." She blushed, closing her eyes and leaning in close again. How did she feel about Dusk? Why did his very presence drive her wild? "I...love you, Dusk..." Reynee whispered against his lips, stealing them in a soft kiss soon after.

Dusk blinks a little at her reaction, smiling slowly and continuing to pet her ears, she seemed to enjoy it...He nuzzles at her chin with his nose, inhaling with a happy sigh, waiting to hear what she wanted to say. He suddenly wanted to kiss her throat, feel her heartbeat against his lips..He swallows, leaning to nuzzle under her chin before freezing at her words. It took a few moments to sink in, slowly looking up at her with slightly wide eyes. "..y-you....what?" he watches her quietly, swallowing slowly. Had anyone ever said those words to him before? He knew his mother definately hadn't. He swallows, fingers shaking a little as he reaches up to touch her cheek, blinking rapidly as his eyes felt watery. "..R-Reynee..." Dusk swallows hard, gently cupping her cheek and watching her.

Love.
It was such a twittery, bird singing, soft breezy kind of day for love, wasn't it?
But it wasn't that kind of a day for Kailine.
She'd spent so long running off in no particular direction, just trying to get away. Had her best friend come looking for her? Of course not, why should she? She was probably off shagging her new boy toy, for all Kailine knew.
No.. you're just overreacting, Kailine. She wouldn't do that to you. She told herself. After all this time alone she'd had time to calm down and think clearer, and realized that maybe she'd gotten all worked up over nothing. Sure Reynee had hugged him. But big deal, right? It was just a hug, it wasn't as if..
Kailine shuddered at the thought. She didn't even know if she liked Dusk anymore, after all this.. all that she could think about was how close she'd come to losing her friend, and that hurt. Reynee was more important than any stupid little boy.
She just wished the girl had come after her.. because Kailine had found herself lost, and it took her this long to find her way back. She did find her way however, and slumped back into the Orphanage, looking like she'd just been through quite a hike. (Which she had.)
"Reynee?" She whispered into the living room, but the girl was obviously not there. She took a look in the kitchen, but only saw Eight and the rest of her family baking.
"Huh." She murmured to herself, wondering why Reynee wasn't there. Neither could she find Dusk, which was odd. Were they still out in the woods? What was wrong with the girl, why hadn't she checked there? Perhaps instinctively she knew she didn't want to see that place again.. for fear that whatever she'd see would hurt her even more than the first time. Kailine shook her head and headed outside, determined to find them and apologize. The tree, it looked different.. but it was still relatively easy to find nonetheless.. as were the two on the ground beside it.
Her eyes dropped down to look at them for a moment, several feet away, before she froze.
She wouldn't.
She couldn't.
Oh, but she was.

Eight blinked and looked back at Kailine, furrowing her brow. "Kailine? Are you looking for Reynee? Last I checked she was supposed to be looking for you to--" But the witch was already leaving before she could finish her sentence. The halfling paused and eventually shrugged, turning back to the three girls that were helping her bake cookies.

Dusk would never know how good this felt, would he? He didn't have ears like Reynee did! Reynee sighed and sat up carefully on Dusk's stomach, smiling brightly and putting a finger over his lips as he spoke. "Shh...oh my..." Dusk looked like he wanted to cry now! She hadn't upset him by saying that had she? Reynee would feel so guilty if she did, and then she'd be too upset to find Kailine when she thought her friend was calmed down enough to be talked to! The cat leaned down and kissed his temples, blinking and nuzzling her cheek against the hand that held it. Dusk was so soft, so warm, she could bask in his glow all day and it'd never bother her, and he was like her own personal life sized stuffed toy when she was laying on him like this. Only this toy was more fun, and it felt so incredible to kiss and play with.
"Duuuuusk, you know I hate it when you hold back tears...I love you..." Reynee murmured, rubbing at his cheek softly before another person caught her eye. Who would be out here at this time just standing there not saying a word? But wait...those boots...she only knew one person with boots like that! The cat looked like she'd seen a ghost. Oh s**t! No! No! Anyone but Kailine! Anyone! Why did Kailine pick the worst moments to come out of hiding?! It was Reynee's horrible luck again! She whimpered softly and squeezed her eyes shut for a moment, hoping it'd be a bad dream and she'd be gone when she opened her eyes again...only it wasn't a bad dream, it was a hard slap in the face portion of reality. Reynee opened one eye, then the other, and stared up at Kailine with the most terrified and sorry look on her face.
"...K-Ka-Kailine?! What are you...how long have you been there?" Was she really that lost to the world this whole time?! The cat bit her lip and sat up again, hesitantly climbing off Dusk and helping him stand up again. She'd say they fell...because it wasn't a lie...but there was no way in Hell Kailine would believe them now!

Dusk gives a small nosie, blinking as Reynee sat up on his stomach, swallowing slowly and watching her. His eyes travel down to the finger as she presses it to his lips, looking back to her slowly and watching her. She was just so...compassionate he couldn't believe it... He gently continued to stroke her cheek as she nuzzled his hand. He wanted nothing more to pull her down and hug her close again as he kissed her but she seemed to want to talk now."...Reynee...I'm not crying...it's just that...no one's ever said that to me before...I just...I....I..." He took a deep breath, voice shaking slightly before watching her pale, eyebrows furrowing and slowly follows her gaze. It was the witch again....huh....oh! dear, this was bad, the witch seemed to get very angry when she saw the two of them together. He looks to Reynee again as she stookd very quickly and blinks as he was pulled up.
He looks between the two girls quietly before brushing the dirt from his robes, looking to the other girl. He didn't think Reynee would react very well to what seemed to be her best friend getting angry with her again. He chews his lip, wondering if he should try to use the calming spell again. He hoped if he needed to it would work this time, instead of just burning his shirt up. Though, a voice in the back of his mind decided to voice the fact that Reynee might like that. He blinks at that and mentally shakes his head, telling that voice to shut up and glances to Kailine again slowly, staying quiet. What could he say??

She felt sick just hearing her name come from Reynee's lips. It was as if those lips were unworthy of saying it, they were too tainted. Her hands shook slightly, before she balled them into fists to pull herself together. Her eyes darkened, and her brow furrowed down as she glared at the girl.
"Long enough," She murmured out darkly, far too calmly to be normal. Then again, perhaps she'd missed more than she thought. For all she knew she'd missed Reynee being a complete whore, and perhaps it was better that way. She was angry enough as it was.
She took the few steps forward needed to be close enough to the two of them, so tempted to spit in their faces.. but instead he just glared at Reynee spitefully in silence.
Then, in a swift movement, her hand rose, and came crashing down on Reynee's face, backhanding her with a slap against her cheek. This was followed by a low, sedated phrase slipped through her lips like satin.
Her eyes flittered to Dusk for a moment, dangerously daring him to even try something on her. He wasn't the only one who knew magic, and in her state of utter violent anger, her power would be multiplied by her rage.
"I hate you." She whispered, and was done with Reynee, as far as she was concerned. This girl was no friend of hers.

This really wasn't going to end well was it? Reynee froze at the glare, just staring back at Kailine with an apologetic frown. As far as she was concerned at the moment, Reynee had done anything necessarily wrong yet...and hopefully this would just blow over...right? Kailine wouldn't stay mad at her over a boy would she? Something more scandalous maybe, but not a boy! The cat blinked when Kailine came closer, and that voice called common sense that had been gagged, tied up and locked away in a dark closet was telling her to move, but would she listen? Not at all.
Reynee didn't even blink at the sudden stinging feeling on her cheek, just staring to the side that her head had been turned with watery eyes. Did Kailine just...hit ******** you."
Her breathing stopped. Kailine wasn't serious! Her cheek stung and she wanted to just crawl under a rock and die right about now.
"I hate you."
The whisper came loud and clear to Reynee, finally turning her head to stare wide eyed at Kailine in shock. She was speechless, she had no idea what to do or say! Kailine was her best friend! Or so she thought. So instead of thinking Reynee just said the first thing that came to mind. "...All this over a boy?! Kailine! Have you gone mad?! I can't believe you! I thought I was your best friend!"

Dusk blinks, looking to Kailine and biting his lip. She was pissed, at Reynee. He looks down, taking a breath. Kailine was her best friend...she would lose her...because of Dusk. His head snapped up at the slap, eyes going wide, knees nearly buckling under him as memories of his childhood flooded him, all to familiar with the sound of a hand hitting flesh. two tears slide down his cheek as he let out a soft sound. He swallows and closes his eyes for a moment as Reynee spoke, opening them again, fingers fisting to keep his hands from shaking. "...Kailine, shut up, you don't know anything about anything that's going on. I made her, she didn't want to, I made her kiss me, just leave her alone, she didn't even want to!" He stared at Kailine, it was the only way to get Kailine to not be mad at Reynee. "She wanted to come find you but I made her stay here." His chest felt like it was going to squeeze the breath out of him, doing this would...mean Reynee wouldn't be....his? was that it? His knees felt very dangerously close to collapsing under him and he was finding it harder and harder to breath as he stared to the ground, waiting.

Kailine felt like laughing and crying at the same time.
"A boy? A BOY?! Do you really think that's what all this is about?!? Like all I care about is this stupid boy?!" She made a rough gesture at Dusk, pointedly ignoring the fact that he was clearly upset about the situation. "This isn't ABOUT him! This is about you and me, and the joke formerly known as our friendship. You knew I had feelings for him, and you didn't even have the decency to TALK to me about this before you did.. whatever the hell I caught you guys doing! How could you. What kind of a friend sneaks behind their friends back? You could have come to me, Reynee. You could have asked me. You could have gone after me when you knew I was upset. But instead you went to him. Well I hope you enjoy your dirty little fling, at the cost of our friendship."
She really did just want to spit on the girl, but Dusk's words distracted her. They confused her enough to make her glare at him, finally noticing he even existed for the first time since she'd gotten there.
"Oh yeah, and I bet you made her crawl on top of you too, right? Did you make her say those things too? Huh? Bullshit. You stay out of this. It's got nothing to do with you."
Once more she turned to Reynee, livid with anger. "You don't even deserve to say the word friend. You don't have a ******** clue what it means."
