kuriositty undertaker moon master If I see something I would like to draw I draw it in another position, take my anemone/eureka* sketch. (Which I will post went I unpack my portafolio since I moved.) ((*anemone and eureka are both character from the anime series eureka seven ,which I finished watching a few months ago.)) True. I do the same thing. If I really like a pose I'll use part of it and then completely change the rest. There are been many discussions of poses even being copyrighted on deviant art. So I make sure that I never copy something especially if I intend on using. Well I find that pose copyrighting is stupid.

I'm working on getting a 3d computer model poser so I don't have to rely so heavy on pictures for poses anymore.

Wings Of Onyx Pose Copyrighting?! WTF? Seriosuly, that's just stupid. They'd be sueing you for walking. Hey, maybe I should copyright the simple front-on pose? Yeah, its all over deviant art. Especially with the more popular artists like celesse and queen of dorks and other "chibi" folk.

If this keeps of people are going to start bashing deviant art instead. Its a difficult area as far as poses. Personally. I don't mind if someone copies my pose because most of the time when I draw something its inspired from something I've seen, but not always. I tend to go for some funky and silly poses and I find those in a lot of Jrock photo shots. So I take bits and pieces of those and mush them together. I think its only healthy for artists to borrow things from others. Borrow being the key word.

If we can't take reference and make it into knowledge then we can't progress. A good artist can see a pose out of nowhere and use it as reference; In other words we are creating our own reference.

Its sometimes hard for me to visually how the body should look in a certain postion.
