What attracted me to System of a Down was... well the beats, the great singer, the great drummer, the great guitarists, the meaningful songs, and the varied use of instruments. It just hit me how great they were.

Actually theres two things. My ex boyfriend was a fan and he had me listen to them. Also, the song Hypnotized. I saw the video and found it amazing. So I got the Hypnotized cd then Toxicity then Mezmerized and thats what attracted me to them. Yes, my 1st SOAD song was Hypnotized.

The first album I got from them was Toxicity, and I loved it so.
Their just so original, I can't help but put them as #1 on my list.

i had just started watching MTV, and the video for Chop Suey was one, then came BYOB, and I was hooked. I mean, SOAD hasnt done any stupid publicity stunt, theyre very honest, Shavo has had a huge influence on me, sometimes, he influences my bass playing in some areas more that Roger Water so there. And oh yeah, I think John in John Bonhams reincarnations (hence the same first name and unique last names)

I love Serj's voice, like in the song Forest he can change his voice.Also I love Darron's voice in Prison Song.It's cool.
I like how not every song sounds the same.I love the songs Soldier Side, Pshyco, Arieals, Prison Song, Forest, and B.Y.O.B. their music is just so unique and cool.

I found them on accident...
I was searching for linkin park vids from an AMV site, and i found one for LP's song Runaway, and it turned out to be innervision by System... and i just dl'd more songs from them etc.
Some great dude told me that great things come from people that work when their half asleep, and from stoners. I'd have to say system is the later...

I love the band. I've been slightly obsessed with the wonderful music ever since the summer of 05 I belive. My aunt and uncle were taking me to Ohio and it played in the car on the way there. I heard it when I woke up one morning, I didn't know who they were, but I actually payed attention to the words! [which is RARE] it was great 3nodding

Mostly the political stuff. That's what really gets me into any band. However, System's sound is what makes them unique, so they're really one of my favorites.

I learned about SOAD in 5th grade from my friend who showed me Chop Sui because he thought it was ridicoulous. Then a few years later my moms boyfriend has Mesmerize and we were listening to it in the car and I enjoyed it. END

I never used to be that into music, but one day, after my downstairs television was left on MTV, I saw the video to Toxicity. It was on that day, that I became obsessed with SoaD, and with music. SoaD is very sentimental to me. If I had never seen that video on MTV, I wouldn't even like music.
I don't know what it was about the song, but I really loved it. Maybe it was Serj's incredible voice. Or maybe it was just how the song dynammically changed tempo. It could have been anything.
So I can say one thing about MTV. It sucks, but at least it intoduced me to one of the greatest bands of all time.

vocal harmony.
the abundance of instruments.
the activism.
the total kick-a**-osity.
