The decision to do a movie (or movies, a tv show, whatever) is LKH's choice; therefore, I would be compelled to agree with her choices, providing that she gets to make the choices concerning script, actors, and to what extent the movie goes. As long as the writer gets the final choice, I don't see how a movie can go completely wrong. Or so it would seem.
In any case, providing they do the books justice, an Anita Blake movie would be amazing. Here's hoping there's more new about this soon!

Neko_Kitsuni Neko Athena my friends and i have discussed, and decided the only way to do any of the charas justice is if Square Enix CG'ed it. those are the only people who could come close to making the charas look the way they are supposed to. and, it would be more realistic than flat anime. but i agree that they'd have to butcher the plot too much for a movie or series. just my opinion, though. this is a hot topic for debate. biggrin Now there's an idea... An animated film of some kind, as opposed to live action. That way all the actor debates would go out the window, and we'd just have to deal with voices. It could work, and it would allow the characters to be more like we imagine them to be. Anyone else think it's a great idea? I agree fully, and with animation as the medium, Laurell would not have to worry about over zellious directors takeing it in another direction, nor about actors not wanting to do certain things. There are many Anime film styles that might also do her vision justice, as well as the fact that if she uses a japanese animation firm, she would not have to worry about rating, (so she could still do the later books) as well as the total cost being millions lower than if she tried to do a live action movie here in hollywood.

I'm not sure a movie can do Anita & crew justice... I mean, a lot of who Anita is, is internal... She's not a very conversationally filled person, she thinks a lot

blackdragonwingz Sweetness....I'd love the movie to come out...but there better not be any sexualy crap in it, or else I won't be able to see it....mer the main problem with that, is just exactly how sexual the books are. Even the first book, though she was abstinant, takes place focused on a strip club.
