"It's like... like getting it down as fast as you can. Yick." Elle made a face, but her heart wasn't in it. She added quickly, "I'm not like a real vampire, I just need blood."
Her heart wasn't in that either, although her denial was as strong as ever.

Luna studied Elle carefully, a finger lightly touching her own pursed lips in thought. If you need it... and if you don't hurt anyone, then I don't see why you would need to be ashamed of it.
After all, there were dozens of worse things that Luna could picture. People who enjoyed inflicting pain on each other. People who would barge into another mind without even unspoken permission. Just to name a few. Someone who drank donated blood from a bag didn't even make the list.

Out of the blue she added, "Hey, you would know. Does wrapping tinfoil around the head actully work?"

Luna simply smiled. Light casts shadows, and a shadow can't exist without light. They simply are. We all have shadows, you know.
At Elle's second question, Luna quirked an eyebrow. I wouldn't know. Want to try it?

"Pfft, but what if the shadows are the ones that cast the light?" Elle had no idea what that meant even, but it sounded good. And it sounded ...well, less lightish than light that Luna had be...
Forget that.
Elle grinned. "Okay! Lead the way to the tinfoil."

Luna bent down and opened one of the cupboards, cutting a length of tinfoil and handing it to Elle. Well... here goes nothing.

Elle took the tinfoil, and wrapped it around her head. It was probably very messy, and weird looking, but she made sure there wasn't any gaps by looking in the reflection in the dark window.
It eventually looked like her head had become one giant silver ice cream blob.
"How does that look?"

It didn't take a mind reader to know that Luna found it completely ridiculous. She shrieked with laughter, covering her mouth with both hands.

Elle was fighting to keep her laughter in, but soon she was also bent over laughing. She knew it looked silly... but...
"You need one on your head!" Elle told Luna though laugher, "It's a fashion statement!"

No, this was YOUR idea! Luna laughed. And if I can read your thoughts through one layer of foil, I can read it through two!
Even as she laughed, she snaked a tendril of her consciousness back toward Elle's.

Elle laughed too, and pushed the tinfoil to Luna's hands anyway. "We can both look silly... maybe this only works against little green aliens. In space ships."
She could sense the tiny Lunamind tentacle... which really wasn't one after all, seeing as it didn't drip mind slime all over Elle's mind. Elle wasn't sure how she was supposed to do the mind thing but she decided to let Luna do it anyway. It didn't hurt and it wasn't a bad thing, not as far as Elle was concerned.

Even as Luna wrapped the tinfoil around her own head, she was still focusing on the task at hand. Elle wasn't pushing her away yet, and that was always a good sign.
Exploring another person's mind was a very foreign feeling to her, but she had to admit, she enjoyed it. Especially when she pushed deeper, and deeper still, until all of the voices outside seemed to disappear.
