Try talking to a doctor then. If it's not going in, maybe you just can't use tampons. Go swimming when you don't have your period.
I've had mine since I was 11. I'm almost 20 now. It sucks but you get used to it. And some people actually have their period stop while they're in water, like swimming or taking a bath.

She'll just make me sit down, spread my legs and do it herself.

You don't need to go to a gyno unless you have a medical problem that requires one, until you're sexually active, or until you're 18 - whichever comes first.
Or just use pads.
