Her tail flickered back and fourth happily, "Okee." she replied excitedly wondering where this new home was. Her orbs glanced back and fourth to the roar that had happened past time. "Who was that?"

"Ah, I see. Its only natural for the little ones to run off." Scribble chucked and looked to the cub. "Got I remember giving my guardian such a hard time. Never the less, I am happy you have found her." He smiled to the male and heard the sound of a lioness's roar, nodding his head at his words. "Of course, she is welcome."

Scribble then looked to Shey, contimplating her words for a bit about Coffe. "Well, males are supposed to be lead warriors, its been passed down in Prides for generations. But I don't think there is any rule saying females cannot. Hmmmm this is quite the question." The teal king was in thought, his tail swishing back and forth until he finally decided on an outcome. "How about this, we let her be the lead warrior. Treat her just like any male would be treated in that position. If she prooves herself worthy in our eyes during our first battle or encounter, she can continue to stay where she is. I wouldn't want to take away something she believes she can fit into, just because of her gender. We'll see how it works." He looked into the amber lioness's eyes, a smile across his muzzle as he finished, waiting for her reply.

Benton smiled at the little one's question and waited for the King's premission before answering her. "You'll see." THe black lion turned his head in the direction of where he heard Anastacia. He let out a loud roar to signal to her that she can come onto the lands. "Thank you, sir."

The female wasted no time. She had already been pacing, body taut. As she heard the sound, she sprinted quickly from her pacing, her muscles moving under her pelt as she ran. Within a few minutes, she saw the group. Slowing, she trotted next to her mate, slight sweat adorning her features. Giving a slight huff, she settled next to him. Looking over at the king, she gave a deep bow. "Thank you for allowing me into your lands, Sire." Her voice was clear as she lifted up her head. Looking over at Benton, she flicked her tail feather. "Now, where is this cub, Sir Benton?" Her ears flicked gently as she tried to calm her heart rate.

Benton smiled and looked down at the cub at his feet. "This is Phaedra. Phaedra... This is Anastacia, she's going to be your new mommy.." He felt a little akward in introducing his mate like that, but it was the closest thin to the truth he could say.

"I'm glad you're here, Scribble." Shey said with a smile, in response to his decision, and stood off silently as she gave Coffe a smile. The brown lioness, in turn, gave her a regal bow, silent as anything.

Phaedra looked up to the bright red lioness, "Hello," she smiled slightly remembering her old mom that she had a small ammount of time with. She walked over and nuzzled Anastacia's ankles quickly making her way back to Benton, she still trusted him the most...so far.

"Your very welcome" He said to both the male and his mate, smiling at the cub and nodding his head to the female's bow.

He turned his attention back to his mate and smiled at her words, giving her an affectionate nuzzle with the side of his head. "And I am glad you are here, the pride wouldn't be complete if you weren't"

Benton smiled and nuzzled the little cub and then leaned over and nuzzled Anastacia.

"Alright, well thank you much for allowing us onto your lands. Now I believe we'll take our leave before our welcome is expired." With a formal bow he picked up Phaedra by the soft scruff of her neck, knowing it would not hurt her, and carried her to the edge of the pride.

"Come on, little one. Let's take you home..."

Anastacia nodded her own thanks to the King as she walked close to Benton. The female leaned over and licked the cub's cheek gently, and in a loving way. She didn't want this one to feel any discomfort around the lioness. Afterall, she would have to be her mother soon. Her single feather flicked gently as she nuzzled Benton on the side of his neck, a content purr rippling through her throat.

The teal King watched as the two took their little cub to return home. "You are welcome back anytime." He finished with a light nod to the couple and turned back to his Pride, having his own things to tend to as well.

((Say its been some time since Benton and Anastacia and Phaedra visited rolleyes xd

Also, for the sake of RP, Kaoru, I hope you won't mind my RPing Jenny in the first few minutes/hours of her birth! heart

And I was also wondering if it'd be okay if I also posted a little for Jenny (within Shey's RP posts), until they get named? Which should be in the next two or three posts, so it wouldn't be long 3nodding ))

She'd never known what the term 'pain' could really mean. She had always assumed it was the pain one felt when they pricked their paw, or felt the jab of another lion's claws, or during a fight, or when the opponent tried to rip away your life for their own, or perhaps even the sting and bruise of hooves. Or else, pain could be the feeling of losing a loved one. But ever since the dawn of morning, the word had had a whole new meaning.

It was time.

Shey rose in the semi-darkness, listening to the steady breathing of sleeping lions. Unwilling to wake them, she trod lightly toward the mouth of the den, slipping out silently. Just the day before, she had found an ideal birthing place, and now she headed for it, her belly round with the cubs that were soon to be born. She saw the sun beginning to bathe the land in its warmth, and saw the still shadows, still long from the night.

It had rained the night before, and all night in her sleep, the Queen had listened to the calming patter of the raindrops as they hit the earth, as she herself contemplated and worried about the birth of hers and Scribble's cubs. There wasn't a cloud to be seen now, and Shey felt her paw slosh through a sizeable puddle, feeling the refreshing cool of rainwater between her claws. And with every step she took, she was reminded again, rather painfully, that this was not just an early morning stroll. She had to be somewhere, and she had to hurry. The chances of her cubs surviving if they were born into the water was slim, at best. The thought spurred her on, and her steps soon led her to her chosen destination.

It was a rather secluded place, surrounded on three sides by grass that grew especially long and abundant, and a rarely found tree to provide her with a cooling shade. On one side, there was a small drinking hole, whose water was so fresh that the lioness doubted any other had drunk here before. The grass swayed to the wind that swept the pridelands as Shey slipped into the shade, and lay down almost wearily. The trek, as it had seemed to be, was only the beginning.

Then there was that moment when it all got real for Shey.

Perhaps it was not often that lions gave birth the day they were due to, but in Shey's case, the cubs were coming right on time, and she could feel that they were well-nourished. She had seen to that. The Queen lay back on her side, wondering how she still had time for such thoughts, when she felt a wave of pain crash over her. With a low growl, she knew it was truly time. Her eyes began to mist over as she began the long and arduous journey to the birth of her cubs.

------------

There they lay, her two tiny bundles of fur. Shey licked them dry as they mewled pathetically, and blindly sought their way into the comfort of their mother's belly, snuggling deep into the tan fur. It was even, that they were. One was a male, burlier than the female, as it would have been expected, but he was quite a bit bigger and already more muscled (if cubs could have a lot of muscle. Perhaps it was just baby fat) than the female, and it was easy to see who had taken after Scribble in size and structure. But it was the littler one, the teal female that seemed to be an exact replica of Shey's beloved Scribble, that had been born first and had given her the most trouble in the process.

Now, both of them lay snuggled beside her, their eyes closed and their ears drooping in fatigue. It was strange. Shey would have expected herself to be the more tired of the two, but as it was, it rather seemed as if being born was more tiring and giving birth. She swiped her tongue over the two cubs' heads, smiling at them. The spotted male, tan and a perfect cross between herself and Scribble, was rather laid back. Where the little female had fought to be the first to nuzzle against her mother, the male, and blindly groped about in the grass, taking his time to find his way over to his mother. Already, she could see which would be the boss of the two. It would be the little female. That was obvious.

Shey curled her forepaws protectively around the two cubs, who immediately snuggled into the warmth of her fur. The last thing Shey wanted to do was to use her voice. She was too tired as it was. But in the end, she stood, the two cubs clinging to her like velcro as she opened her jaws and let out the most joyful roar, that swept the land and woke it with its honeyed chord.

The teal king awoke at the sound of his mate, not sure what to think as he opened his eyes to the new light of day shining through the cave. He caught the echo, however, knowing right away that the time had come.

Scribble sprang to his paws and with a mightly push off his muscular back legs, he followed the sound in a sprint. His cubs...their cubs, had been born. His hauntches rose and fell with each thump of his paws, and he thought about Shey, hoping the birth went well for her.

As he ran the King threw back his teal head and let out a roar of rejoice, letting his love know that he was on his way.

((That is perfectly fine ^.^))
