Yes, but most of the population won't go to see the Dawn of the Dead remake or any remake for that matter, and think about what social or polotical themes it expresses. And personally I can't see how the remake takes away those themes. The original to me stood out and had a very deep impact because it set off the whole zombie genre.

Wow, can't believe I never responded to this. (1) Despite the fact that you seem to show strong belief in your "most of the population" statement, it is not defended with textual evidence or anything that shows how "most of the population" actually thinks; therefore, the opinion is unconvincing. (2) Perhaps you forgot about the shots from the original Dawn of the Dead that featured zombies walking aimlessly throughout the mall like consumers; where were they in the sequel? Heck, was there ever a shot in the remake that featured a zombie inside the mall that was NOT chasing after or attacking the living? If you believe the themes from the original, such as Romero's opinions on consumerism, are, in fact, not missing from the remake, can you please point out instances in which they are apparent?

Well, this is now my favorite movie blaugh i loved it! and my favorite actors are in it (Paris is not one of them) LOL whee i thought the story was awsome too, how could you watch those old horror movie that are in black and white and like it better? I cant stand watching old movies like that!
i agree, It is officially my fav movie. It was awsome!

...? Well you're entitled to your opinions, but if you just automatically decide you don't like "old" horror movies without giving them a chance, you might miss out on some really great movies. I'll admit that I enjoy some remakes, but I enjoy the few I like by themselves, and they are never better than the original. As for house of wax, I didn't want to go out of my way and waste money on seeing Paris Hilton die.

this movie was s**t... although the guy that was made out of wax was hot.
I sat through a 22 hour flight... so I watched this movie because I knew I wouldn't pay to see a movie with Paris hilton in it and by gawd am I glad I didn't

It was cheap I took pleasure in seeing every one die... probbly to much

The Orginal was better... although I beleive in the orginal the woman should've turned into wax. Damn them saving her confused

Although I have to add this in.. after I post this I will look through this post, but this wasn't a remake it's just taken the concept of the wax house and expanded it. no, not succesful stare

Do copies of the original still exist? I'm checking ebay.

I'm also trying to remember if they put the original in 3d in the theatres...I think someone might have already mentioned it though.

I didn't really like House of Wax. The best part about it was seeing Paris Hilton get speared through the forehead with a giant stake!!! That made me happy......

Sorry to bump in, but my cousin refuses to see ANYTHING old. (she won't even watch 80s movies!) For example, although she claims to be a huge Johnny Depp fan, I can't convince her to watch Ed Wood just because it's in black and white! So, I can understand your frustration.

All I really wanted to say is this: If you limit yourself to one thing only, you're really missing out.
