Probably because of the constant influence of the media through radio, songs, as well as many other things that promote becoming a gangster and gaining more respect through it than getting a good education and developing life changing things that could make everyday life easier or make large jumps for humanity in general. But that's just how I see it.

Ren Yumiko Nanatashi Why do Boys become gansters instead of gentlemens and Smartys and Hotties at the same time? xD My English teacher refers to it as Guy logic. It is a mystery to girls, but to us it is just normal. *shrugs*

Possibly because of the difference in physical anatomy.

Well it depends on what specific kind of laziness you are talking about, because some guys are lazy in terms of hygene and THAT causes beards to grow longer, but some guys are lazy in everything but hygene.

THAT would be egotism that was developed all throughout history due to males feeling that they were supperior than females and in any point of history you can see it. But the true root of this, I am not sure.

I try to find romance like that myself in real life, but problem is, girls like Rikka seam kind of nonexistant. And the ones that are dont seam to notice the guys that have the potetial to be like Ryuu. I should know. The only girls that want to get with me are the ones that want to get in my pants. stare Which is why Ive never had a girl friend before... Thats why I prefer RP most of the time. Its much easier with fictional characters to interact with each other, where as if we did half the things we did in RP, we would be thought of as wierd or week. like Tyo's dorm reflects his character. Though if it where like that in real life, people would avoid him because they would think there's something wrong with him. Or when Kai braved the dead fish. I did this because I wanted to show Kai would put himself up to just about anything if he felt nessissary. In real life, if I did that, people would never let that down.
Not to mention, with a lot of animes out there, most guys arent as romantically inclined because they stick to shonen mangas, therefore their characters are more based off of warrior-ish characters. Im not saying all guys, as I (And I bet a couple guys in here) read or watch just anything in here we like. So I guess it also means what your interests are in a character. What you think would be a cool character, or for some, who are the funnest to play. A lot of characters are usually created for a certain purpose or role, by the creater. Some for romanance, some for battles, some for both... Ive even seen characters created for the sake of comedy. (Darn, I wonder how off topic I got there... confused )
I like Ryuu's character, because it takes a turn from the mainstream. His character is caring and friendly, while probably could still hold his own in combat if he had to. Like I said, a multi purpose character. Able to support one role, but fall back on another if the situation calls for it. A lot of guys dont seam to understand that they dont have to have combat oriented characters to have fun. Not every character has to follow the tough guy patern. Kai himself has his vulnerable moments. He's not as strong as he thinks he is. Though the truth is, a lot of male characters, combat or not, are just kind of waiting for that girl who can take them away from their problems. This is where most guys get misinterprated, both in RP and in real life.
If I didn't cover what you wanted me to cover,
