Sad_Sad_Kiddie I love PoNR... lol, the first few times my friend Erin and I listened to it, we were talking about it... i was insisting it was about sex, and she was like "no, it can't be! you're wrong!" Then the day she saw the movie, I got a call with her going "... you were right... sweatdrop " 3nodding It's very obvious, especially if you watch it with subtitles... just watching Erik's and Christine's performances kinda give you a hint, tho. whee wow, you have a friend named erin too? small world.

Bubblesbb03 Yeah, Don Juan is the the greatest lover, according to legend. Apparently, he was like this dude who went and had like three women a day. xD 'Tis my rough little definition there. And the whole song was about Don Juan, which means it's gonna talk about his life. LOVE life. And and I the only one who thinks it's ironic that Erik wrote that song? ^^; In Mozart's Opera "Don Giovanni", Giovanni was said to have slept with 2,963 women, I believe was the total until my memory is failing me. That's approximately 2 or 3 per weekend since he hit puberty and he's twenty six. Ah, opera. Actually, I don't find it terribly ironic in Webber!Erik's case, because that's all he thinks about is sex, really. He's a far more sensual creature than the Erik of Leroux, and if anyone missed it, he was seducing Christine with Music of the Night, which is accustoming Christine to the idea of sex. So, no, it's not overtly ironic, in my opinion.

PONR is my all time favorite song for the sex-song like quality is has. I love the passion in it. Raoul's face is so price-less.
Dress- $250 Mask- $50 Watching Raoul get teary-eyed when Christine and the Phantom sing like that- Priceless
Okay the prices may be wrong but oh well

PoNR is the sexiest song ever.
Seriously, I would listen to it while boning if my hubby wouldn't be highly disturbed. He's jealous of Erik enough already. sweatdrop
Yes, it is most certainly a song about sex.
Actually, I saw Brad Little about six months ago in Chicago, and in Christine's part, when the Phantom is sitting on the bench and Christine is behind him feeling him up and the like with her hands over his, Brad let out this very loud and sexy moan.
And then I made this squealing sound of absolute aroused ecstacy and my husband was pissy for the rest of the evening.
Damn, it was great.
So yes, certainly and most definately about sex. xd

The whole point of it was it was suppose to be a powerful, sexual, wonton song. Don Juan is trying to get Aminta to sleep with him, he speaks of dark longings and desires... he's getting her drunk in the scene, for God's sake! It is obviously sexual, if you saw the play. sweatdrop

"Poor young maiden! For the thrill on the tongue of stolen sweets, You will have to pay the bill, Tangled in the winding sheets!"
Okay. Yeah. Doesn't that sound like rape to YOU? XDDDDDD
Erik: D:< GRAWR. You stole candy. Be my unwilling sex-slave! Christine: :3 OKAY! Raoul: .... DDDDD: What?! XDDD

Unromantic_Phantom Music of the Night has the ability to be either extremely sensual or beautifully innocent. It all depends on the way it is sung, but in general it is a more romantic song while PoNR is all about the raw passion. I find myself preferring Music of the Night because it isn't all about the sex, and it doesn't have to be all about the sex. It's a song that I would love for a guy to serenade me with. Still...I'd probably do a guy who could sing PoNR well. Is it weird that I'd love to have MotN playing in the background the first time I have sex?

I didn't understand the lyrics until I put the subtitles on. And then I understood why that song always made me think of deep lust. But it is so freaking hott.
They make a lot of inuendos in the movie though. Like when the managers go "somethingsomethingsomething gone and slept with the Patron..." That floored me, and after I heard that I finished the movie and then turned on the subtitles. Now I know why the movie is PG13. But I'm a pervert and I love it.

It IS about sex, but I don't think it's about SEXSEXSEX, I like "giving yourself to him/her" or "making love" It isn't perverted, just... passionate and strangely mysterious. It makes you wonder if he's really all that evil. In my openion(sp), it is the song that saves his image and makes phangirls swoon.

It's like he's witnessing a whole new kind of obsessive love, and he just doesn't understand it... But she does and she has it. He wants it. He wants to be on the stage instead of Erik. He wants to love her like that. But he doesn't. Because he could never begin to understand.

And the actors do a fantabulous job of adding sultry tones to their voices. 3nodding
