*Lindy stared into the sky with her mouth open at all the weapons fire directed at the orb soon to be sishkabob, she blinked several times then sweatdropped. All weapons fire from the base and the three units on site along with the LAM's make a direct hit (well not all of them), the orb blows up like any other thing that gets shot at, a few seconds pass then the small explosion is followed up by a super-nova looking explosion with a loud boom that shook everything in a 200 mile radius. Lindy ducks and covers her head.

*After the big bang and illuminating the sky, small debri flew everywhere, looking like meteorites, some burned up while others impacted the ground below. Down in the underground labs Iris was hiding under a desk wondering what was going on above ground.*
Above in the atmosphere-
Unknown Femal Voice: "My my...all that fire power for something that wouldnt even do what that pink haired little girl said it would do...and now their facility will be rained upon with debri that will cause more damage than it would've...Ah such simple minded species"
*The female moves her hands to a panel on the arm rest then pushes some buttons, suddenly something starts forming in space, a large alien ship materializes. Cannon barrels and laser cannons line all sides of the ship, the ones under the ship start changing direction and point downwards to Gaia, clearly it was hostile.*
Unknown Female Voice: "Now...lets have some fun..."
*With the press of a button, several cannons fired down towards the area surrounding the ASDF*
Back at the ASDF-
*Lindy gets up and coughs from the still burning hole on the ground from where the orb was firt attacked upon*

*She snickered as she turned towards Griffin's mecha and stuck her tounge out at her then turned around and slapped her rear, mocking her. The incoming attack would arrive in less than 30 seconds. (someone can just post that they picked up the attack o_o)*

Thrie backs up as a debris came to him. He draws his beam saber and cuts it to two and prevent it from damaging anything near him. "< >" He said over the comm unit.
He deactives the saber and drags the Emp rifle back to the hangar, or whats left of it now.
He puts the rifles back to their appropriate place and lets the techs do the rest. He was just about to park the Mecha to its scaffold when his sensors went off. Then he remembered, his sensors picks up whatever the Tower picks up.
He really never figured it out why his sensors intergrates itself to the Tower's sensor system when the Tower allows it. His sensors showed him high energy readings raining towarding the ASDF base at high speed.
He cried over the Comm unit "<>".
He brings his mecha to the Armory and grabbed his 200mm Heavy Artilelry Rifle. He walks back out of the hangar and setting majority of his energy to I-Field barrier. He scans the sky getting ready for whatever is heading their way.

First: You can't detect an incoming laser. Nor can to detect a passing laser. The only time you can detect a laser is while the beam is hitting you. For the sake of RP, we can assume that the lasers we use are so strong they heat up the air to the point of causing a glowing plasma to form - this means that in the atmosphere lasers trails are visible, but in space they are not
Second: Lasers travel at the speed of light. From a GEO orbit, we would have the barest fraction of a second to respond. Energy propigates at roughly the speed of light, and any other energy readings would arrive at or near the same time as the damaging payload. This is the cause of the first statement.
Third: If her aim was right, she hit. Period. This is due to the first and second statements. You can't tell it's coming until it hits, and you don't have the time to dodge even if they sent a radio message just so that the end of the message would coincide with the laser firing.
That said, there will be a response time of under .3 seconds to an orbital bombardment - scattershot, extra-atmospheric only, no friendlies, that means ~.3 seconds until she's hit by the NLs and ER-PPCs (If the atmosphere doesn't eat 'em), ~.35 till the needlers hit, ~.4 seconds till the large railguns hit, and the rest wouldn't firing as they wouldn't be able to escape the planet's gravitational field and we don't want a hail of bullets and armed missiles coming down anywhere. The orbital platforms will have a slightly longer response time, and so will fire as soon as the attacking ship is detected, with the first ~.3 seconds being spent targetting the assumed position of the enemy ship, and the next ~.15 spent correcting the aim based on the impact of the previous projectiles. The ASDF-0 will take the longest to target the ship as it has the most mass, clocking in at about 6-12 degrees per second of rotation, and making the total targeting time based on how far it has to turn to fire (Procedure dictates naval weaponry not be pointed where it would hit planetside, so we can assume the big stuff would be pointed into deep space, which is good for the attacker since they're probably just outside the atmosphere.)

OOC: There's no integration, per se, but your sensors and targeting systems can get relay information from the base. If your systems try to ask for something, it's just going to ignore you. 3nodding

*GRiffin turned the Kawamori to Gerwalk mode and opened the cockpit placing the hand of the Mecha near the cockpit for a jump, she leaves the cockpit and lands softly on the hand and after that she lands on the ground with grace, she stands and take her helmet out, he golden hair slips out for the helmet shining by the light* ((hehehe baywacth episode or what?? xd ))

OOC: Aside from ammo propellent, the only substance onboard is the fuel, and recent fuel systems - aside from being well insulated from shock and puncture, and significantly armored even on civilian craft , and *never* made of conducting or sparking materials - replace expended fuel volume with compresed nitrogen. It's impossible for the tanks to explode unless there is major incompetence on the part of the person doing the maininence, and the only other way there can be an explosion at all is if the armor and padding is compromised, the fuel leaks out, and there's an ignition source *after* the vapor density has already hit a level where it could be a problem. Now, if the laser hit a fuel tank with enough energy to flash-vaporize it, you would have exploded in mid-air without the chance to crash. OOC: Granted, in Real Life these systems are fairly new technology and are not widely used as of yet, but Gaia is more than a few years ahead in weapons systems - mecha, anyone? 3nodding OOC: Anyway, illogical movie physics have always been a peeve of mine.
