Hiei had been zoning when Kurama asked him if he wanted to rest with him. He blinked, looking over, and took a moment to register what had been asked. It wasn't what the fox asked that delayed Hiei's answer. It was the way he had asked it.
"Hn," he said, knowing Kurama was familiar enough with him to understand his short answers. He shook off whatever it was that had nagged him, and saw the question as more playful teasing.
Sitting on the egde of the bed, his breath hitched at the satisfying softness. He wondered briefly if there might be a spell on the bed to make whoever came in contact feel incredibly comfortable. He quickly straightened, remembering Kurama was with him and not wanting to be teased for the face he'd probably made the second he'd lowered. As usual, he waited for Kurama speak first.
((Not to worry. <3))

The fox sat down beside Hiei, since apparently the bed was as comfortable as it looked. Their "hostess" certainly had a fair taste, though that wasn't a surprise.
Kurama smirked mildly as he mentally toyed with the half Koorime's former expression, for one thing, wondering if he should tease him about it. He decided against that for one reason; the boy had actually listened to his suggestion.
"So what do you think...?" asked the kitsune, having nothing much in mind. Hiei could take the question as he pleased, whether it be about the castle, their situation, or even just the bed. He gave multiple options so a conversation could be started, rather than him leading entirely and just getting a 'hn' every once in a while. Not to say that the sound wasn't somehow... cute.

Hiei wasn't sure exactly what Kurama was referring to, but he answered anyway. "I think our hostess is mad," he drawled, closing his eyes for a moment. "or bored, now that we've stopped trying to get out."
It still bugged him that she was doing this for entertainment. He was lost for a moment in that thought, unaware that he was pulling parts of the blankets through his fingers, caressing it and being oddly pacified by it.

"I'm not sure about that... something tells me that she wouldn't drag us here just to watch us try to escape. I think she has something else in mind, but I can't place what," he replied, seeming to stare into space for a moment.
When the fox did look at Hiei, what he first noticed were his fingers, how they carressed the soft fabric. He hadn't the slightest clue what brought that on, so he could only wonder. Maybe it was calming?

Hiei caught that he was stroking the fabric and immediately clenched his fist over the blanket in an attempt to cover his mindless carressing. "How boring does your own life have to be to make you do something like this?" he scoffed. "It seems so..."
He trailed off as his mind wandered once more. No matter how hard he tried, he could not think of any sane reasoning or plan behind this trap.

"Perhaps she isn't bored. It seems to me that this woman would have better things to do... I wonder if she has a specific fascination with us?"
There were reasons that backed this, of course. For one, the psychic had chosen women that were close to them, and had seen to it that they both had come. It seemed that if she wanted anyone else to go with them, she could have.
No matter how long his mind dwelled in it, he couldn't figure her reasoning. If she wanted to kill them, wouldn't she have tried by now? Or was she trying to get them both out of the way?
One thing was sure... he would never quite understand how the female mind worked.

"You may play with them. But only until dinner. Then you must take them to the dinning room."
"What are you gonna do with them? Can I help?" The little shadow demon was ecstatic. Kasai always had the funniest games to play, and always made sure that Night got to enjoy something. Like the new werewolf, Carlos, who was currently living in the forest behind the castle.
"Not this time, dear." Maybe later, she thoght. But not yet.
Night pouted, but smiled again. "How long 'til dinner? Is Carlos coming tonight?"

((Please don't play as Kasai. I don't mind what you just wrote at all, but eventually, it might become a problem. You could PM me about things, for my approval, though.))
"Carlos may not come. It will be Kurama, Hiei, you, and myself. Do try to behave, Night," she said, in a tone that left for no arguement. Kasai had come to be her mother figure, so she took it upon herself to take care of the girl, and that did occasionally mean she would order her around.
Once again, she summoned the glowing orb, just to check on the two. Yet again, they were talking about her. Could they quit that? She hated when she was the subject. Not only that, they had no concept of her plans. Perhaps that was a good thing.
"Would you like to prepare dinner, or should I?" Miss Antan was a fair cook, but Night might like to make something, so she made sure to ask.

"A specific fascination, Kurama?" Hiei made a face. He was not a toy, or a pet and found himself annoyed once more. His fist relaxed and he smoothed the fabric between his fingers, inhaling slowly. He had been kicked from his subdued state, and found odd relaxation in feeling the material.
"This is a waste of time," he spat, now tracing a design on the blanket. And, as usual for the fire apparition, he clammed up once more. Straightening and clenching his fists, he tightened his jaw in what was his way of dealing with this annoyance.

"A waste of time it is, but anger won't help us any," he said, trying to get off the subject of the girl. When they spoke of her, he would immediately tense, and he did wish for his friend to be more calm. There wasn't much he could do to help that... the fire apparition would probably resent anything he might try.
Whichever way they looked at this, as Hiei would say, they were screwed. So really, this still was a subject to be avoided. He skimmed his mind, trying to find a better topic, but was unsuccessful.
Kurama almost hoped that the demoness would make a move. The way this was going, they would either turn out angry, or bored.

Hiei simply shifted and glared at the wall. Kurama was right, but Hiei was a stubborn thing and if he was mad about something he would not shrug it off because someone says it won't help. After another minute of silence, Hiei huffed out a breath and closed his eyes. He had expected more talking from Kurama, but he guessed he wasn't always right.

Hiei's attitude was to be expected, so he thought little of it.
One strange thing? The red-head got the feeling that the Koorime wanted to hold a conversation, but he hadn't been given anything to work with. Then again, the he could be misinterpreting, since the boy couldn't ever really be read.
Why did he have to be so stubborn and confusing? Nothing was ever simple with him. Ever. Maybe that was part of what intrigued the fox so.

When Hiei was having one of these stubborn moments, he felt uncomfortable being this close to anyone. And the fact that they were both on this very appealing and soft bed did not help. He rose and silently made his way to the window. He didn't know why windows were a place he enjoyed sitting at. Nonetheless, there was enough space so he sat at the window, gazing out with eyes that were somehow compunctious.
His eyes darted quickly to Kurama, then away.

Fairly sure that Hiei was watching, Kurama layed down, taking the other's former spot. He put his arms under his head, closed his eyes, and made a point to look as throughly comfortable as possible, almost to the extent that it was comical. The fox might have moaned, but that would be over-doing it.

Somehow Hiei wasn't sure that Kurama was being serious. But he did suddenly want to feel the fabric between his fingers again. Twitching, Hiei said the only thing he knew that would keep him from going back. Dignity was something he valued.
"Don't fall asleep, Kurama," he almost hissed, forcing his attitude through even though he really wasn't angry with the fox. If Kurama was going to dangle how nice he felt then Hiei would only make himself close up more. That would teach the flower-coddling fool.
