Hello spyder owners I to have owned a spyder and I kinda liked it but my Angel Speed is much better compared to my spyder there in completely different leuges, really buying upgrades for your gun is a waste of time buy a better gun. The ion is a good way to go if u dont have the $900 bucks for a Speed. I personily might get one for my back up gun.

Plus some people don't stay in paintball paintball forever and long times. But Yes there is a certain extent to a Spyder where you just adding for the sake of it. Like you said the Ion is a awesome marker for the price and the preformence. The Ion now also has now alot of upgrades so it can become a better tournament marker. The Ion reaches from a High-End Rec-ball marker to a Tournament marker. And I thought you said you have a Fly not a Speed.

Now about people using Ions over some of those $1000 markers. I've seen alot of people leaving their $1000 marker in the gearbag and takeing out a Ion. My local store owner even prefers people to buy an Ion over a Shocker. My local store owner has basically become a Shocker tech sence people around here have alot of trouble with their Shockers. Also if you upgrade a Ion alittle it easily becomes a nice high-end marker. No longer does the word "High-End marker" come with a $1000 price tag.

I will say that a good player with a pump gun is better than a crapy player with an Angel, but having a high end gun steps up your game almost a half level. I still love my spyder, but it limits my abilities to a certain extent unlike my Angel Speed. Also about accurancy I use a Phat barrel kit so I can get the ultimate accurate shot. Another bad thing about a high end gun is the price of good paint, u cant use the crappy stuff or else the oil gets on the eyes and u have serious problems in a game (has happened to me). The good paint is wasted by the fast trigger pull I wast a box of paint in 3 hours. I still love my Angel, but I will never forget the affection I have for my spyder.

And u cant beet an Angel with a Spyder Electra, the Speed has two infra red eyes, one to make sure there is a bal inside the chamber and the other to look at the trigger pull, the Electra has no eyes, only an anti-chop bolt (while the Speed has a soft touch bolt), and a rocking trigger, which has your fingers spred out to far. An Angel is a great gun and I will argue with anyone who says otherwise.

The Fly had a more complicated board that is practly not needed, seeing as it gives a few extra adjustments for the extra 100 or so dollors.

I just played with my imagine yesterday and i felt like throwing it off a cliff. I have the ACS bolt on it and it chopped 9 OUT OF 10 BALLS! I think it is the blowback. The paint i was using wasnt that bad... Does anyone have any ideas on how to turn my supersoaker back into a paintball gun?

You got a good enough hopper to keep up with the gun as well? Any gun can chop if the hopper can't keep up with it.

My bolt was all yellow from the paint so it was chopped but no i dont have a good hopper.... But i still dont see why it would chop so many balls when i was firing really slow.

Is your bolt damaged/chipped maybe? I'm not really to sure on this one. The reason I ever chopped on my Spyder was becuase it was right feed and even know I had a Egg2 on it, it still chopped. If your bolt it not damaged I suggest maybe borrowing a friends hopper, preferably a Egg2 and see what happens. If you got some paint left over from when you played when it chopped that would be good. If it still chops I can only take a wild guess of it being your detent.
