Okay Q/Cole, I've decided. Naruto is the King. It's just some wild guess really but I think there's things to back it up. When the fourth Hokage sealed away the Kyubi inside of Naruto he wanted people to look to him as a hero yet one of the only people that seemed to do so was the third. Age wise I would've said that Asuma would have fought against the Kyubi and, obviously, knew/knows that it is sealed inside Naruto.
I don't know about Shougi(sp?) but in Chess the King is far from the strongest piece, yet it's important for the survival of the whole team. If Naruto were to die or the Kyubi were to be released then would not the whole of Konoha have been lost? Besides, blatantly obvious that Asuma's going to have to get into a fight with those stupid cloak wearing guys.

exactly, I used zeeks powers ((which are now killing me)) to power up so I could avenge you, not my fault the power corrupted me so quickly

Besides, blatantly obvious that Asuma's going to have to get into a fight with those stupid cloak wearing guys. that's what a lot of people seem to think. i think the "king" is actually the village itself, konoha. sarutobi always preached and talked about putting the village first and protecting konoha at all cost. in the game, the objective of the pieces is to protect the king. in the story, the objective of all shinobi, from the gennins to the kage, is to protect the village. yeah, i do feel like asuma-sensei will go against them two akatsuki guys since he's got the same brand as the monk they just killed. hopefully asuma will fair better against these guys than he did against itachi and kisame. but then again it's itachi we're talking about, whom i think is one of the strongest characters in the anime who's not a kage or a sannin.

As for Itachi... The dude might as well create his own village. What with the ages he graduated and became Anbu, he's probably the greatest ninja alive. If he were to just watch people fighting instead of getting drawn into fights he could easily learn more techniques than the third.

If he were to just watch people fighting instead of getting drawn into fights he could easily learn more techniques than the third. he won't live long enough. using the sharingan as much as he does has no doubt shortened his lifespan. using the sharingan basically is like overclocking your computer. it'll perform better than it's designed to, but at the same time it'll burn out faster. as for asuma, i think he won't just flat out say it because he might be afraid to sound too sentimental. at this point i'd see shikamaru as a better candidate to be the next hokage than even naruto (some think that naruto will become a wanderer like jiraiya), and i think asuma is trying to impress on him the same teachings his father (the third) always preached and lived by.

Kidagara She was here about... a year ago? I dunno if Cole would know her. She was in that horribly sad love drama triangle thing before... Oh, so sad... *dies of embarrassment* wait... love triangle? ooooh.... i gotta hear this one. please elaborate 3nodding . also, ever seen beck? good anime, character development was great although the story moved a bit slow. great music. oh and have you seen the movies "2LDK" and "Kamikaze Girls"? i think you'd really dig them.

I could go get the old thread if you want to read up about Kida, Triskal and Kokushi's love triangle... and how I had to keep consoling the one of the girls that got rejected each day.

I could go get the old thread if you want to read up about Kida, Triskal and Kokushi's love triangle... and how I had to keep consoling the one of the girls that got rejected each day. oh man.... that sounds juicier than a basket of fresh watermelons. can i see the thread if no one else objects? i wanna play it off as if she's someone i've seen around the temple, at least.
