Just hanging out drawing in this heat. mad D Reika> It's just the style of drawing. neutral You can't really compare Naruto to some Shojo anime, of course the styles are going to be different. I mean honestly, if Sakura Kinomoto was suddenly stuck in a ninja academy and made it all girly, do you think it would appeal to such a broad audience? Alynney is right!

It's shown by my observations, that Male Manga artists have a little trouble drawing females. But that's only my observations.

They must be doing something right, with Sakura Haruno having a lot of male (and maybe female) fans. xp I once saw in a forum someone saying "sakura's damn sexy". Oh and, have you ever read Ah My goddess? The artist is a male, and he has no trouble drawing females. ;D

Because Akira Toriyama(DBZ), Masashi Kishimoto(Naruto) etc....Really draw their girls too masculine. They can never draw girls like Shoujo artists can, because Shoujo artists draw their females with a sense of Class and elegance. Look at Naoko Takeuchi's depiction of Sailor Jupiter. She's an intense fighter, but she still has an elegance about her.

They are drawn to fit with the storylines, like Sailor Moon is meant for an audience of girls, where the elegant look would be appealing. DBZ was meant for an audiende of guys. I know it sounds stereotypical 'cause I know a lot of girls and guys watch either show, but still. It's the target audience. *imagines Goku elegantly fighting surrounded by shiny stars and bubbles, and magically transforming into a super saiyan* *cough*

Then tell me this Ally, how come I like Anime shows such as Yu-Gi-Oh?....That's a Anime that appeals mostly to guys right? And how come I've met a lot of anime fan who're guys who like Cardcaptor Sakura huh? So basically you're being a little too generalized.

Reika_Masanori Any Anime that's too long, that get's too repetitive is an Anime that I don't watch. 70 episodes is a good length for a Anime. Not 200+. It gets ridiculous after that point.
*invades topic* But what if it had good storylines and lots of room for plot/character development? Lots of anime have 200+ episodes, and that's what makes them epic. Like Sailor Moon, for example. Sure, a lot of the series will have their bad episodes or even seasons (with Sailor Moon Super S comes to mind...), but if they have original stuff it's fine. That way they can cover a broad range of topics without making it seem rushed or crowded. *goes back to lurking*

I'm just trying to use that to prove my point, male artists don't have 'trouble' drawing females. It's just the style of drawing.

Point taken, but still, When I look at Sakura Haruno more in Anime, she looks a little more feminine because the artist who draws her in the Anime isn't the original Artist that draws the Manga.

Unless you can draw as good as them, I wouldn't bash. Every artist has their own styles and the Naruto ones have theirs. The people that keep the series going cause they watch it, and buy the merchandise, can't be wrong.
So it's just a matter of taste really, if you don't like it, then so be it, but I don't think it's right to call something sub-par when people put a lot of thought into their projects.
My 2 cents.
