The old Pastor, who had been simply watching a listening, now raises his hands. "Now that everyone has arrived, I assume I should get right to the point. We some very valuable items have been stolen. Very powerful items. We have brought you here to enlist your help in retreiving the items. Due to the nature of these items, and the interest of thier owners, this matter must be dealt with secretly. I can offer each of you a minimum of $5000 dollars for assisting us."

"Yes, Junpei, we are well aware of your monetary situation. I believe each of you has skills which prove invaluable to this mission. I know a few of you have been sent here under orders from your superiors, while others have been contacted by us directly or indirectly. We have many means for aquiring assistance, and have learned much about each of you prior to contacting you. There are so many of you for two reasons, we could not be certain each of you would be prepared to accept our mission, and we will probably require you to split into smaller groups at times for special tasks.
Now, I know few of you will believe such nonsense as I am about to retell, but I emplore you to listen. Whether this is true or not, would be up to your group to prove.
There is a Cult working in this area, assembling artifacts said to have power to raise their God in a living form... I know. Whether this is true or not, the Cult has managed to steal some very important items, from some very important people. They want them back. The $5000 dollars is simply a sign-on bonus they have offered. There will be much more profit than that for the return of each item.
This is a very sensitive issue, and we cannot afford to have the press get wind of it, or let the Cult know that we are on to them.", at this the Pastor pauses to take a sip of water and looks you all over anew, as of measuring you up to the task.
"Sounds like a few of these may actually be up to the job. At least it's a start.", Akuen, the little girl in the fancy dress, interjects during the silence. "A few might survive, if they keep from killing each other... Adults.", she adds, closing the door and walking through you all to stand near Pastor Cline, laughing.
Xander still sits quietly as ever, but appears to have enjoyed the girl's comment.

"So it's a group of loony's that have stolen some rare artifact's." K spoke up, a bit intriged by the mission. "Well, then mission should be relatively simple, since the objective is to search and retrieve. But things that seem simple at first seldom are. Tell us, what kind of resistance will we be expecting? Are these just some novice cultist's with little to no experience with firearms and weapons, or are we talking about experienced killer's?"

"Well, I need the cash. I'm in, how dangerous could a bunch of wackos be?" Chiaki said, nodding. All this stuff about powerful artifacts didn't mean much to her, but the $5,000 sure did.

"Your starting offer of $5000 is acceptable. Once we gather the items we will negotiate a further payment dependent on the difficulty of said task"

-Hearing the reward, Kyoji just shruged at it, as if it was nothing, putting the grenade he pulled earlier away and smirked-
"Heh, well, the money doesn't concern me, I'm in regardless. Let us proceed with the cultist uprooting, eh?"

Well, this is interesting. $5000. I've never had that much! But we'll probably be going up against some scary criminals for that kind of reward.
Aeryll listened closely to the general chatter and waited for the pastor's answer, but she masked her curiosity, keeping a straight face.

$5000, huh? Now that I could definately use. Hmmmmm..........I wonder what we're expected to do for that much........
Soidra stood silently and waited for the next turn of events, listening vaguely to everyone's talk.
