(( It's fun! Don't worry about it! n_n We'll continue whenever you're available. I'm working from 1 to 5 tomorrow, but I should be okay after that. ))

Climbing down as well, and watching Dreary, Dionaea followed. Procyon was a good leader, and this was her first chance to be sneaky. She tried it a few times with Lu (like hiding under the bed) but she wasn't sure she was cut out for it. But the Raccoon knew exactly what she was doing.

"'Sploring!" she annouced to no one in particular, and wondered if they would stumble upon someone else's conversation while they were out and about.

Procyon motioned for Dionaea. Dreary just hovered over the two of them, waiting to follow whereever they decided to go. It spun on it's side, creating a shadow on the floor. Tilting itself just a bit, the shadow grew larger, and eventually, the two girls were cloaked in darkness. It would be a perfect disguise for them as the lurked around the Moon Court castle. There were plenty of shadows there, and this shadow would look just like the others, except under it were two Fey, attempting to be sneaky.

"Okies Dee, we be quiet, kay? And sneeeekkeeey." She grabbed the other Fey's hand, hoping she'd be able to keep up. She wanted Dionaea to be able to explore with her, as she would be a good person to have on her side. She was an excellent listener, Procyon knew that well, and she would definitely be an asset. She curled her tail around her waist, trying to make herself as small as possible as they moved toward the doorway. Procyon walked through the already open door, and looked left, and then right, down the long, dark hallway. "Ready?"

Dionaea watched in awe as Dreary cast its magical shadow over the two Fa'e. She'd definately tell Lu all about it. Following Procyon as best she could, she listened carefully. No one was coming. It seemed like the halls were completely empty, but it did not worry her. She had a bodyguard of sorts!

The flytrap Fey whispered back. "Sneeeekeeeee." Dionaea nodded, wings positioned close to her body to make her smaller as well. She waddled along, wondering what they would end up finding...

Procyon turned to see Dionaea trying her best to be small and quiet. She smiled at the other Fey, and turned back around, to lead them down the hallway.

They took quiet steps through the dark hall, trying their hardest to not make any noise. About halfway down the hall, Procyon came upon a door, and was curious about what would be behind it.

"Dee," she whispered to the other Fey. "Hear door! Nee one dere?" She wanted to be sure she wasn't barging in on someone during her exploration. That would be far too embarassing. And since she barely knew anyone in the castle, she wasn't sure if it'd be the best way to meet and greet. Though she was curious about the other Fey in the castle. She had met Pteryx, but only for a brief time, and she hadn't seen her since then. She wondered where the bat-Fey's chambers were. Maybe they'd stumble upon them on their exploration...

Stopping at the door, just behind Procyon, Dionaea stopped to listen. Everything went quiet as she tried to hear is anyone was beyond the door. After a few moments of intense silence, she shook her head.

"Nobodee I can heer. Maybe somebody, if they vewy qwiet." She nodded her head in emphasis. She was still a baby, after all. She couldn't wait, though, so grow up so that she could really play rough with the Raccoon Fey. She smiled inwardly at the thought. But Procyon would probably always win.

Procyon nodded to Dionaea, who she trusted as the ears of this operation. She decided that it was probably safe to enter the room, but she wanted to be sure that there would be no problems. So instead of just barging into the room, Procyon called upon Knit to help her out. The little sprocket extended it's little arms, and proceeded to pick the lock on the door so that the pair could get inside.

"Come come Dee! Be verry sneeekkkkeeeyyy..." She grabbed the little Fey's hand, and pushed on the door with her shoulder, cracking it open just a bit so that she could see inside. So far, so good. There was no one in the room that she could see, but she did notice the vast number of tomes lining the walls. There were plush chairs that had seen better days, and a large stone fireplace with a mantle above it, with some strange items lying on the mantle. "Look Dee..." She pushed the door open farther, and swiftly moved inside the door, dragging the Flytrap Fey with her. Shutting the door behind them, she scanned the room for anything shiny.

"Sneeeeekkkeeeee....." whispered the flytrap and they rushed inside. Blinking and looking around, Dionaea memorized every sound she could hear. She'd never been in this room before. She wondered if any more magic sprockets would be in here, like the one Procyon had with her.

She kept her wings close to her body so that they wouldn't buzz if she got excited. Smiling, she crawled around, finding a nice, secluded spot between a bookcase and the wall. "Smooshed..." she giggled. Nothing exciting over here.

The room smelled bad, too. Very old. Dionaea looked up to the mantle. There were things up there. Dust, books, old chairs. Lots of things in this room. And it was very quiet.

"Pwoceeon, yoo see shinies?" she asked, digging into the bootim shelf of the bookcase she found.

As they entered the room and Procyon felt safe in her environment, Dreary uncovered them from the shadow it had created, and hovered over Procyon's shoulder, sure not to get too far from her. The two already seemed to have a special bond, and it seemed Dreary had a taste for adventure like it's owner.

She watched as Dionaea went exploring around the room, and did the same herself. She wanted to be sure sure she didn't miss anything. Crawling on all fours, she hoisted herself up on a chair, and climbed up the back of the chair toward the mantel over the fireplace. She could have sworn she saw shinies up there.

"I 'tink so Dee. Lemme looksee, okies?" She slowly crawled from the top of the chair to the mantel, hoping not to fall off anything or loose footing. This could be precarious. But instead of thinking of her own well-being, she jumped from the top of the chair, and landed on the mantel so that she could examine the shiny silver candlesticks that were sitting there, covered in dust. Even with their old age and tarnished appearance, Procyon knew these were quite a find.

"Look! I found shinies!"

Dionaea whirled about just as Procyon took to the air. She gasped. "Wow! Pwoceeon, you okay?" She hoped her adventuring partner wasn't injured. She couldn't remember the way back to her chambers from here.

At the mention of shinies, the flytrap Fey tried her best to haul herself up on two legs, straining to see. What would they do with the shinies, and how would they get them down? Sitting back down, Dionaea crawled to the edge of the mantel, looking up.

"Maybee we drop the shinies? I try to kach!" Clapping, Dionaea was glad she suggested she could help. She would try her best to help the older, more experienced adventurerer with her precius cargo.

Procyon waved down to Dionaea, wanting her friend to know that she was really okay. "Is okies Dee! I's good!"

She giggled as she watched Dionaea try to see what she was doing, proud that she was making an effort to join in on the adventure. Now, it was time to think of a plan. Procyon scooted the silver candlesticks to the edge of the mantel, trying to make sure that they wouldn't fall on Dionaea's head. She didn't want to knock the poor Fey out, and she was very careful to just push them far enough.

"Wanna kach? Tink yous can?" She questioned the Flytrap Fey, sure that she could do it. They weren't too heavy, were they? "Okies Dee, hold hands out!"

As she watched the Flytrap Fey below, she couldn't help but think that maybe this wasn't the best idea. Instead of just dropping them down on Dionaea, she took another scan of the room, and found the thing she was looking for. In a basket, on the floor next to one of the cushy chairs, were several balls of yarn, and some knitting needles. Procyon climbed down from the mantel, and scampered over to the basket, pulling a piece of yarn out of the basket. Gnawing at it with her teeth after pulling out a goodly amount, she set the strand free.

Running back up into the chair, and climbing back to the mantel, she tied the piece of string to one of the candlesticks, and then called out for Dionaea. "Dee, lookies! I drop, okies?" She carefully lowered the heavy candlestick down to the ground waiting for her friend to collect it for her. Once one was free, she sent the other down as well...

Procyon never ceased to amaze the tiny Fey with her ingenuity. Clapping, as she was indeed impressed, Dionaea gathered up the candlesticks one by one. She had no idea what they were going to do with these things, but shinies were shinies. Procyon would know exactly what to do with them. She was just along to help.

"Yay! Pwoceeon es smart!" She'd have to learn such tactics from her friend as they aged. They'd probably come in handy someday.

As soon as all the candlesticks were placed safely on the ground, Dionaea looked up again. Procyon was so high up there... She could see everything, couldn't she? "See anehmo' shinies?" she asked. She wondered if there were any interesting sounds up there.

Procyon watched as Dee gathered up the candlesticks, clapping her hands with glee. She had succeeded in getting some shinies, and now she felt like she had accomplished something. Even if the rest of the journey was without treasure, she had managed to add a little something to her stash.

"Tanks Dee! I'm comin!" With that, the raccoon Fey jumped onto the top of the chair, and scampered down to the ground, about bumping into the other little girl. "Sowy Dee, I was fast!"

She gave Dionaea a pat on the back, and picked up one of her finds, examining it in the dim light of the library. They were tarnished, yes. But when they were cleaned, Procyon knew they'd be very pretty, and very shiny. She stuck a finger under her dress and used it as a cloth to wipe some of the grime off of the candlestick she was holding. It's shiny exterior was revealed, if just a little bit.

"Look Dee, pwetty." She held it out for her friend to see too, as she admired it.

Dionaea shoved her face up close to the candlestick, examining it further now that it was clean and shining. "I ca see mysel'!" she announced quietly. That fact fascinated her. But what would they do with the shinies now?

The Flytrap Fey's attention was caught by something else that was shiny - a book. She hesitantly crawled over to it, examining the golden decorations lining the cover. She waved Procyon in this direction. "Pwoceeon! Shiny book!"

Dionaea tried her best to pry the book from the shelf, but it was just too heavy for her. She wondered if they should just leave it where it was. But it was a shiny! What else was there to do with a shiny?
PostPosted: Wed Jun 29, 2005 1:56 pm

"We need bag...put shinies in bag...But where we find one?" She asked Dionaea in all seriousness, hoping her friend would know the answer. She giggled as she watched Dee practically squish her nose up against the shiny candlesticks, and agreed with her. "Yush, lookie! Is you!" She pointed at the reflection on the shiny surface.

It was then that Procyon saw her own reflection in the candlestick's base. She had never before seen her own reflection, as her chambers didn't have a mirror in them. She had plenty of windows to look out of, but no mirrors. She was awestruck by the rings around her bright yellow eyes, and just couldn't help but stare. "Look Dee, is me..." She blinked, wondering if the reflection would disappear, but it didn't.

Still gazing at her own reflection, she jumped when Dionaea saw the next shiny thing that would soon be hers. She scampered over to Dionaea, and tried to help her pull the book off the shelf. She pulled with all her might, and finally the book came free as she fell backward on her behind in a cloud of dust. "Book is shiny!" she exclaimed, rubbing the golden seals on the cover. "What is it?"

"Dunno what it is... Is book." she said, blinking at it. She did not understand why this book had to be so heavy. And why had Procyon never seen her reflection? The look the Raccoon gave her own reflection puzzled Dionaea. One of the first things her Kithain ever brought to her was a mirror. But the concept of self was still a bit new to Dionaea. She never felt perplexed or embarassed by her own reflection, nor was she ever self-conscious.

Now, about that bag... "Bag? Need bag..." A bag for all of the shinies, or just the book? How would they get the book into the bag, if they wanted to take it? Dionaea figured that any shiny was well worth taking, and tried to pry the book from the shelf. But it proved much too heavy.

She shook her head. "Too big!"
